Jessa’s Hospital Bag

Jessa Seewald is in her final month of pregnancy. She and Ben Seewald are anticipating welcoming their sixth child. As many of you know, the Seewalds have enjoyed finding out each baby’s gender and keeping it a secret from everyone until the delivery. This time they told Jinger and Jeremy Vuolo, since they live far enough away to be able to keep the news a secret. Jessa just filmed a video sharing some of the items that she is packing in her hospital bag, as well as some of her favorite newborn and postpartum essentials.

    3. Eight is more than enough if you’re to give quarter time to each child!

  2. What does living far away have to do with your ability to keep a secret? That makes no sense. This is the family who films and posts everything they do or say.

    1. Makes lots of sense. They're not around family members where they might accidentally let the secret slip in conversation. Filming and posting are both avenues where you can edit yourself before letting the public see/hear you.

    2. 10:57 Not being in the same city with the siblings has never stopped them from calling each other. They are on their phones constantly and have been since the show was still on the air.

  3. I hope George gets a little brother to hang out with, since I see Spurgeon mostly hangs with Henry and Ivy hangs with Fern.

    1. Yeah . Why does she need a bag? When I had my kids, I just went to the hospital when I went into labor.

    2. I'm thinking a mom of almost six probably knows what she wants to have with her.

    3. You need to pack clothes for the baby or is she supposed to take him hone wearing nothing but diapers, and even if it is just a day she shouldn't neglect her needs either

    4. 2:53, did you not take a change of clothes? A toothbrush? A hairbrush? Something for the child to wear home? There's no reason to NOT take a bag.

    5. Jessa previous deliveries haven't gone smoothly, and she has had to stay in for more then 24 hrs. Better to over pack then under pack

  6. It would be nice for George to have a brother close in age. And then maybe they could have two more girls!😁

  7. Her epidural causing sciatica theory is bunk. A needle doesn't cause that. She's thrown off her posture and spine by having so many pregnancies. She gets very large with each pregnancy. It has wrecked her back. If she doesn't do something about this, it's only going to be worse with any future pregnancies.

    1. Gaining weight in your abdomen area can worsen sciatica. Jessa's been pregnant for 54 months now, more than half of those months with the extra weight right in front. Getting a shot during labor won't compress or inflame that nerve. Some of the Duggar girls are against epidurals during labor. Jessa probably got this idea from one of her sisters. She actually could use another kind of epidural, the kind where they inject a steroid at the inflamed nerve. And then maybe think realistically about family size and what all these pregnancies are doing to her.

    2. Actually I hate to break it to you but sometimes they don’t get it in correctly & it hits certain nerves & one thing leads to another & sometimes it makes a really bad outcome!! Happened to me for an average surgery & with a pregnancy. I won't ever get another epidural again!!

    3. She does NOT get very large during each pregnancy. LOL! Are you serious? Not nice…but also just not true.

    4. She had an almost 10 lb. baby last time. She does get large! Needle-induced sciatica is so rare. Pregnancy physical stress is the usual cause. Her last epidural was a few years ago so not likely to be the cause. Carrying 10 lb. babies, yes.

  8. 8:39: great plan! Or how about 3 more little boys and THEN 2more little girls. That would be perfect! I hope Jessa has given this some thought.

    1. 12:25 Why would you know what is "perfect" for someone else regarding family planning?

  9. She's only packed knit hats, no bows...

  10. I think she is having a boy. Did you see the color of those sleepers.?

    1. Everything in her life is those colors. But yes, no pink, no flowers, no frills, unless she kept them off-camera. But she probably wouldn't think to do that.
