Jana and Stephen Go Camping

Jana and Stephen Wissmann are approaching their one-year wedding anniversary. Jana moved to Stephen's home state of Nebraska after the pair tied the knot in Arkansas on August 15th, 2024. Jana is active on YouTube and recently uploaded a video of a recent camping trip that she and Stephen took to celebrate Stephen's birthday. The newlyweds have a camper and enjoy putting it to use.

  1. Will never understand the lure of dragging a little "house" behind you like that. Go to a lake or some other spot for the day. Come home to your own bed in your own perfectly good house that you already paid/pay for. No need to pack everything into a tin can and hook it to your car. People can be so silly.

    1. It's also silly to expect everyone to be just like you in your tastes and opinions.

    2. As the saying goes, "to each his own." Vacations for me include camping, either with tent, a small cottage, or a camper. Vacations also include sightseeing, trail hiking, and the smell of campfire. These vacations are by far the most enjoyable and most affordable.

    3. I agree. I thought camping is spending that time in a tent.

    4. I haven't been camping in yrs, but I'd rather sleep in a "little house" than a sleeping bag on the hard ground like I used to do.

    5. It really doesn't make sense to bring half the house with you and then sleep like there aren't hotels everywhere. Too much packing and unpacking with a camper. That's not a vacation.

    6. @7:27 How is purchasing a camper the "most affordable"? Those things can cost more than cars and houses. Add taxes, insurance, the cost of a vehicle capable of towing them, gas, repairs, storage fees if needed... You get charged to park in a campground too. That "affordable" vacation just turned into costing more than a night in a 5-star hotel.

    7. Camper = getting away by yourself
      Hotel = surrounded by people
Jana has been surrounded by many people for most of her life.

    8. Upon this theme
      I'll briefly touch:
      Too far
      To go
      To lug
      Too much.

    9. I don't understand the mean-spirited criticism. Some people enjoy trailer-camping and they get pleasure from the whole process. They prefer it to staying in hotels and enjoy providing their own meals. If it isn't something that interests you.. no worries. But don't berate someone for having their own interests and opinions.

    10. Campground = surrounded by people, many of whom will have noisy, active kids!
Jana will feel right at home.

    11. @4:35 Yes, campers do cost money. When I was married, we rarely stayed in a hotel. We tented, had a truck camper, an old 5th wheel, and then a brand new one. As a single mom, I continued the tradition of camping, mainly in a tent or a cheaper cabin. There is no way I can afford a hotel. It's the experience of camping that is so enjoyable. Yes, there's work to load and unload, but who cares. It's part of life.

    12. If you keep up with them at all, you know they got that RV for a really good deal! And he already had the truck to pull it. Stop judging them for doing something that’s fun for them that millions of people also do! You’re being so ridiculous!

    13. To the first comment, sometimes the place you want to go is farther away than a quick day trip. To the person who commented that there are hotels everywhere, not always true. Some of the most beautiful places don't have a hotel with a few hours drive. I think you both may benefit from getting out and about a bit more.

    14. @10:41 I dispute your claim that there are beautiful places THAT YOU CAN TAKE AN RV TO (topic of this post) that don't have a hotel "with [sic] a few hours' drive," too. You're probably thinking of "beautiful places" that would be accessible only by hike, and only for tent camping. If you can drive your RV on paved roads to a campground (and plug it in) to look at beautiful scenery, then there's a nearby town or some sort of civilization within reach too. The tourist industry is well aware of people who need lodging near national parks that don't have in-park lodging. There are hotels near enough to all of those "beautiful places."

    1. No worries! This little trip was just for a few days, maybe a long weekend. Jana has talked about her husband's job and that she sometimes goes along with him to work sites.

    2. i dont know anyone who would want to go to their husbands work why

    3. @4:06 Before reading your comment, I didn't know anyone that would care one way or another if someone else would want to go their husband's work.

  3. Why all the clothes for a couple days? Didn't appear they wore that many anyway. Doesn't Jana ever cook? When do they work? All logical questions

    1. From the video, it looks like Jana's husband likes to cook. Nothing wrong with that. And she's talked about his job.

    2. Are they really that logical, though? Wouldn't it be logical to assume Jana does at least some of the cooking? Or that they work during times that they're aren't recording themselves on vacation?

    3. Get over it and just enjoy the video. You don't need to dissect and question everything about their lives because of a simple camping trip. Good grief.

    4. Haven't seen Jana "cook" since she was a teen and made bread with that dough mixer at the big house.

    5. 8:45, you may not have realized this yet, but not everything they do has been recorded!

  4. 12:25, You can’t be serious! When do they work??? So, what? You want them to work 24/7? Why should they be any different than every other person in the world, who has weekends off, or at least one or two days off per week? Unbelievable!

  5. what a bunch of negative comments. Camping is a joy to those who love it and especially if you have a camper.

    1. If they had gone to a resort hotel, people would have been on here asking why they didn't go camping instead!

    2. Absolutely, and wondering how the money was earned for that! Duggars cannot win!

  6. Hello, this comment is not necessarily about Jana and Stephen's camping trip, it's related to updating this page and hopefully with updated pictures. It is stuck in the past and Jana and a few other members of the family are married and have had children. At least name the number and names of children even though no picture, which still keeps their privacy. As I know some members are doing and makes wise and good sense. Let's celebrate milestones and not be stuck in the past! Most people would celebrate and pray along side you! Not be in judgement! Prayers and blessings!

    1. If there’s no time to update the header that’s ok. We really just want to see the updates and comments. You are doing a fine job!

  7. I don’t know why people are here if they have nothing nice to say. Why waste time reading about or watching videos of people you don’t like? They like camping in a camper, so why shouldn’t they enjoy it? I’m happy for then. They seem to have a great relationship.
