  2. Can't believe she agonized for a long time over wearing pants, had to consult her husband, had to pray about it, had to search the Bible... It's just pants! Even Muslim women are allowed to wear pants. There are plenty of types of pants that aren't skin-tight. No need to worry yourself like that and feel guilt. That upbringing the Duggar girls had sure messed with their minds.

    2. Where did she say she had to CONSULT?

    3. @3:09 She said she and her husband talked about it, prayed about it. That means she consulted her husband, didn't make this decision on her own. It was all we, we, we.

    4. Isn’t God too busy to be consulted about pants?

    5. @5:41 For the rest of us, yes.

    1. She felt the need to comment on it because people keep asking.

    2. It wouldn't have been a big deal if her family hadn't made it into a big deal.

    3. Listen, God cares how modestly we are dressing. He is not a casual God. When it comes to praising him, we would not go in his house with a casual attitude
and casual dress. When they are living in their father's house, they have to follow his rules if they're minors. Now that they are married, they don't want step over their spouses headship. There is nothing wrong with wearing pants, everyone's situation is different on how they deal with their own situation.
Not wearing or wearing pants will get us close to the true God, but he want works from us that will build us closer to him. As Matthew 24:14 says the good news of God’s Kingdom has to be preached before the end.

    4. 5:33 I agree! There is a certain way to dress in modesty. There are people who go to the extremes like the Duggars did but I also don't agree with the clothing trends today. But at the end of the day, everyone's convictions are different. We can't tell anyone how to dress except our kids under 18.

  4. Agonizing whether to wear pants or not is ridiculous and such a waste of time "researching and praying about it". There are more important things in life to research and pray about IMO.

    1. Agreed. She is so guilt ridden over it. I blame JB and Michelle for that issue.

    2. Perfectly said

  5. JB and Michelle created all this angst over clothing in their efforts to set themselves apart from the rest of society. The Bible doesn't tell us what to wear. Dressing modestly means wearing clothing that is considered suitable and appropriate for the setting in which it's worn. Now the Duggar offspring are struggling with an issue their parents created. So sad.

    1. You are never to old to get caught up in a cult. I think the parents was doing what they thought was right but remember they was following someone else's teachings. I also think that's why Jinger didn't say to much about her parents in the book.

    2. They trusted what Gothard was preaching. That's the problem.

    3. @ 9:09. Yes. As if wearing different clothing than others makes you better than they are, more godly, or more special. The Duggars' views were (and are) so skewed! Jesus wore a robe that looked like a long dress and I'm sure no petticoat or leggings under it. He wasn't the least bit concerned with the "modesty" that the Duggars are so hung up on.

    4. It is sad..They're all going to need anti anxiety meds whilst they agonize over pants..smh

    5. I think all the modesty started when Michelle made all those matching clothes with the red curtains that the church discarded. There was plenty of fabric so she made all the dresses extra long.

    6. 8:24 Michelle didn’t make all the red dresses. Jana did. She was 10.

  6. I love that Jinger, Jill, Jana and Joy are breaking away from that.

  7. What a to do over nothing. There are no "clothing rules" in the Bible. People were told to dress appropriately according to the custom in their society. Joy needs to realize she's not under any "restrictions" on her dress now.

  8. Joy has been married for several years. I'm amazed that her parents still exert such an influence on her and her decisions.

  11. I have concerns over religious teachings that cause this kind of agonizing over what we should wear. Christianity is about your relationship with God, not about what we're supposed to wear.

    1. Bill cherry picked the bible and made up his own rules. They was made to fear which is why Jinger struggled with so much anxiety among other things. They all got caught up in this cult-like beliefs under Bill. He somehow knew how to feed poison and lies to so many. And it broke families apart. The damage he has done to people is just sad.

    2. Bill’s not the only one who cherry-picked.

  12. I don't get it why there are so many posts being shocked about Joy's answer about her wearing pants. It was a question in her Q&A, and she answered. In some religions women are not allowed to wear open hair, I personally find it very weird, but I'm not shocked. Because there are a lot of belief systems in the world. So why criticize Joy over that?
Joy actually also said about her upcoming birth, and many other interesting things.

    1. Because she's a Duggar. But also if you notice, you only see these type of comments on here and not their social media comment section. They are either scared or not being serious and want to start stuff on here for fun.

    2. @3:59 You do realize the owner of social media accounts can choose to delete what they don't want in their comment section, or even block certain posters? They can lock down comments and get none, either positive or negative. They can edit the comments to only show the supportive ones. So the contents of their social media comment sections don't really prove anything. And do you realize that the comments here are also screened and chosen before being posted? Ellie tries to be fair and posts various viewpoints, as long as the opinions are logical and respectful of other posters in how they're presented. If that is still offending you, then I don't know what to suggest.
