Josh's Prison Sentence Extended

According to Us Weekly, Josh Duggar's prison sentence was recently extended by almost two months. His new release date is October 2nd, 2032.

  1. Will he ever figure it out? He can't just "charm" his way out of things, prison officials don't care, they just punish those who don't follow the rules.

  2. IF the extra time was because he was caught with a cell phone as rumored, then it's a bad sign that even in federal custody, Josh doesn't think rules apply to him. Unless he quickly learns some morality lessons, there's little chance he'll abide by the rules of his release someday.

  3. I’m going to be 32 years old by the time he gets out.

    1. Just think how old Josh, Anna, and the kids will be by then. What a way to ruin everyone's life, Josh.

    2. I'll be almost 80!

    3. Exactly. I know it's easier said than done, but I wish Anna would see this and move on. She could go be with the Keller's, perhaps find a new husband, and give the kids another chance at a family.

    4. Who would marry a woman-child with 7 children?

    5. @5:44. In their views, divorce is bad. At her age, she'd have to find a widower or marry outside her faith. I don't see that happening. I think she thinks Josh will get out ASAP and life will go back to "normal" for them, if she's just patient. Last anyone reported, she supposedly still thinks he's innocent.

    6. 5:44 a good man hopefully. Are you aware its 2023? These days you are lucky to find someone that doesn't already have children. But that's not necessarily a bad thing either.

  4. Time for the rest of the family (including Anna) to take a giant step back and leave him to his fate. He is not a "victim".

  5. See.... there results for your actions. When will he learn?

  6. I feel sorry for the Duggar, Keller families and all the victims. I pray for them. I don't feel sorry for Josh he is right where he needs to be. My parents and I are hoping for a another spinoff. Natasha b

    1. I doubt that most of the Duggars would even want a spinoff at this point. Maybe you'd enjoy watching their YouTube channels, Joy is posting pretty regularly nowadays.

  7. Josh is learning he has to follow the rules and when he doesn’t there are consequences. Seems to me the first time was when he was sent to jail! Second time, when he had his sentence lengthened. Josh, just because you are the oldest of 19, just because your family was on TV, just because you weren’t held accountable by your family earlier, doesn’t mean that is your life now! You reap what you sow and it doesn’t seem that you have humbled yourself to God or man, IMHO.

  8. I read he was caught with a cellphone.

  9. I like the prison sentences handed out in the U.S. Here in Canada, someone who had much more child sex abuse material than Josh, and had actually abused a child sexually himself, got 3 years in prison. Disgusting!!!!! Josh's sentence makes sense, especially because he has 7 young children that could be at risk of abuse.

    1. 3 years ??!! How is that even possible ??!!

      Delete
    2. I know! Very disgusting. It's true, 3 years. Even someone who murdered three people, their sentence was reduced to 25 years from 75 years, because 75 years "wasn't very fair"! Ridiculous

    3. We do not know the circumstances of the crime so commenting on the length of sentence is not appropriate.

  10. If this was because of the cell phone he supposedly was caught with, it does show one thing - he's has no respect for the prison system and won't follow its rules. Unless he learns to behave himself, he probably won't follow the terms of his release in 2032 either. I don't know what it's going to take to finally break him of his terrible behavior. He seems to enjoy taking risks and thought he had learned to be very good at it. That already cost him his freedom and his family. Maybe he feels he has nothing left to lose. Or maybe he doesn't want to get out?? What a messed-up life.

    1. How would he have gotten a cell phone?? Sounds fishy to me

      Delete
    2. Anon 9:14 All sorts of things are smuggled into prisons. Money talks and stuff happens. I don't think it's "fishy" at all.

      Delete
    3. @9:14 You can get contraband from other prisoners and from the guards. Hand over some money and the stuff is yours. Cell phones often are "rented out" by prisoners who have them.

    4. Anon 9:14. Why do you think it's "fishy"? There's a number of people coming and going at prisons on a daily basis (employees, visitors, delivery people, etc.) It's not a surprise that contraband is smuggled into prisons.

  11. So…what is the big deal? He gets 2 more months on top of 10+years? If he can’t follow simple rules maybe they should have added 2 more years

    1. @10:11 Can't constitutionally do that.

  13. Thanks for posting this. I appreciate that you give updates on this even though I'm sure it's not at all what you imagined you'd be covering when you started this blog years ago. I do wish that Josh would be omitted from the banner whenever it's updated next. But thanks for running a great Duggar fan blog. I hope you see this even if you choose not to post comments for this post.

    1. Seriously??! Why would they delete him from their family picture? Going to prison doesn't make him not their son. Would you disown your child?

  14. Why give any credit for this info to Us Weekly? You can go to the BOP website and find prisoner info including release dates. Much more reliable than some gossip rag.

  15. IF he actually serves all that time. Prison can release you any time they want, up to that official date. Depends on circumstances. Josh's aren't looking too good right now but that could change.

    1. I think the prison system has some sort of guidelines that are used to determine when they release people. They don't seem to seve the entire sentence though. I'm not sure exactly how it works though.

    2. Some prisons release early due to overcrowding. Some did pandemic-related releases. Actually, it's good that we don't know exactly what determines release. Shows we're not familiar with prison, which is not a bad thing!

    1. She grew up in this. Its literally all she knows :\

    2. She probably feels grateful that God has given her a test and probably feels special for staying with Josh through everything. Meanwhile, her kids have no dad, they have no income except for family charity, her husband has a huge problem that may or may not be getting fixed... Reality is different than what she might be imagining.

    3. What happened to innocent until proven guilty?? Someone could've hacked his computer with those pics you know.. it happens a lot!

      Delete
    4. @4/3 9:15 Nobody hacked his computer. Forensics found absolutely no trace of that. These facts were all revealed during the trial, and transcripts of testimony from federal investigators are available to read online if you still believe the hacker theory. It was proven that Josh had to be present with the computer when the downloads happened, and then proven that he was at the car lot that day and time, from other evidence gathered.

    5. Seriously, 9:15? He's certainly guilty. Too bad his sentence was not extended even further.

      Delete
    6. Anon 9:15. Did you miss Josh's trial? He WAS proven guilty in a cort of law and that is why he is now in prison. Computer experts testified that there were no signs his computer had been hacked. Please stop making excuses for him.

      Delete
    7. Josh was already proven guilty in court, 4:07. There was no hacker. Just because that happens "a lot" doesn't mean it happened in this case.

    8. I still want to know what Anna was alluding to when she said "There's more to the story." That hasn't come out an ANY point in all this! Not even in the appeal.

      Delete
    9. Anon 4:15. There's nothing "more". If there was anything that exonerated Josh it would have been presented at his trial and again at his appeal. She's just making excuses for him.

  17. She can change just like others have . Don"t make excuses for her she is a ADULT WITH HER OWN MIND!

    3. Anna has always seemed to enjoy the Duggar name and the pride of being an example of their faith. It would be a huge humility to voluntarily step away from that. She is proud to be his wife, as crazy as it may be.
