    1. Don't worry, the pregnancy announcement will happen soon. Only one Duggar is currently known to be pregnant but I'm sure others are pregnant and will announce in due time.

    2. Meow! Was that necessary?

    3. Shes not even pregnant! Get real!

    4. I think the pregnancy announcements may slow down. They no longer have the TV money to rely on.

    5. Anonymous 11:12, you arr probably right.
Although I'm surprised Lauren and Josiah haven't announced a pregnancy yet, hope there's nothing bad going on there.
I bet Joe, Josiah and Joy will have another baby in 2022.

    6. Anon 11:12. IDK. JB and Michelle didn't have the TV money and they had a mega family without it.

    7. 4:10 Did you not see the tiny house they were renting and living in with more than a dozen kids at the time? Not what I'd call ideal.

    8. I think the pregnancy announcements will slow down. They no longer have the TV money coming in. Katey is only 23 and they are newlyweds. Give them time.

    9. Anon 10:24 The house wasn't all that "tiny", it was just inadequate for the number of children the Duggars had. No wonder JB sought out a way to supplement his income via the TV show.

    1. Natasha, we don’t know all the details of the Duggar situation. It might be better to change your prayers to, “God, let your will be done.” God knows everything and will let happen what best needs to happen for the Duggars. Maybe it will be to have them back on tv, as you so prayerfully want to happen. But let God make that decision - pray for God’s will to be done.

    2. I think it's time to let the dream of another Duggar TV show go. Most of the younger siblings show little interest in living in the public eye and TLC has made it pretty clear they're done with the Duggars.

  5. MO- Cute couple... They look very happy. Maybe if it's okay with them we could see Katey with Jed in the Family picture on top of this page? :o)

  8. Interestingly, every single married duggar daughter or in law except for Jill, Abbie, and jinger had given birth to children by their 23 birthday. I applaud Katey for not being in that group.

    1. For all we know she could already be pregnant, if Katey has her first child before she turns 24 which is very likely, she'll be the third to give birth at 23,Jessa had Spurgeon at 23 years and one day and Jill had Israel at 23 years and eleven months which is still quite young for today's standards.

    2. Am sure u spoke to soon.

    3. I find the comment ridiculous. What's wrong with having kids young?? Your body is not the same when you get older, and it can influence pregnancy, kids might have all possible issues including Dawn syndrome and autism. It's much, much better to have a child when your body is young and healthy.

    4. As someone who had my first child at 35 because I got multiple degrees and had a professional career, I now wish I'd started on kids a LOT earlier.

    5. Anon 8.49. Autism is completely unrelated to maternal age & Downs usually is more prevalent in over 35 mums. However I have seen it in a mother as young as 19. Think we should just wish Katey a happy birthday & all stop discussing these young women’s uteruses & when they should have children. My daughter is 23 & wouldn’t want children yet, no matter how much I would love to be a grandmother. Happy birthday Katey, you made a beautiful bride & I hope you have a lovely birthday & a special year ahead.

    6. Jill was still 23 when Israel was born.

    7. Could you perhaps not be so judgemental for people who have children later??? I’m nearly 29 and have not had children yet as I’m battling infertility issues? I’ve had countless early pregnancy losses and am on my first round of fertility treatments now, I don’t need to hear that my child might come out deformed after battling so hard to become a mother.

      Delete
    8. Or you could have a child when you're ready, not the second your body is.

    9. Having had my child at 26, I have to question at 8:49. I know a baby can have downs at anytime, but I thought it was mostly for woman over 35. I never heard that autism was caused by a woman's age. Let a couple decide when they want to have a baby. In this day and age 23 is young to have a baby, tho I know not for the Duggars. @ 3:26 don't let anyone scare you. 29 is still young praying for you.

    10. Hogwash 8:49. I guess you don't think Michelle should have had more than 8 kids, because #9 and beyond were all after her age of 30.

    11. A child with Down's can be born to any woman, regardless of age. It is just that there is a higher probability for a woman over 40 than for a woman at 25. In fact, now, in this country, EVERY pregnant women undergoes testing for birth defects such as Down's. And there are other problems that are NOT age related. So, enough of this ageism.

I know women who have had children in the mid to late 30s and the children are all fine. I did and had no problems. A woman at 35 can be just as healthy as a woman at 25. In fact, we are finding that women who have their children in their 30s are more health conscience than the younger women. Their level of education is higher; they are more aware of the world around them and have more resources. They also tend to have fewer number of children; their children have more educational opportunities and other resources.

And yes, 29 is still young. Infertility can happen at any age. It is not only due to the mother's age.

    12. 11:05, Autism has nothing to do with the age of the mother, according to science. I taught autistic children for many years and the ages of the mothers were quite varied. My niece has an autistic child and she was only 23 when she had him.

      Delete
    13. @8:49am,well these fundamental families that have children up until they can't have anymore biologically don't worry about those things, but I admit that's admirable as it means they will accept whatever sacrifice the lord throws at them, well if you have the patience to look after 19 kids you have the patience to look after a disabled child, I had an autistic child and I'm coping fine, although he is just low spectrum autistic, but if it were worse I would have had to cope anyway no choise, but anyway Katie doesn't come from a fundamental family so will probably just have a few kids like her parents.

      Delete
    14. Actually the risk to have a baby with Down syndrome increases from something like 0.5% to 1% when you reach 40. 3:26, it is not about you, you're very young and still have the time to have babies. I hope you overcome your fertility issues (think about acupuncture too!). And btw, I had my kids at 38 and 40 (and I don't feel the need to justify it) and they're both perfect!

      Delete
    15. @3:26 I am sorry for your losses. It must have been really hard. But don't be discouraged yet. You're only 29!! A lot can happen in the next decade. I have had two beautifull and healthy boys at age 35 and 40 after many rounds of fertility treatments. It's hard because it is not the plan you had envisioned. Infertility forces couples to consider others scenarios, such as having children later in life or adopting. I will be praying for you.

    16. Anon 3.26. I’m sorry to hear about your struggle with infertility, people so often go on at couples to have children never realising that there maybe a sad reason why it’s not happened. 29 is still very young & I would not give up hope. My mother waited 18 years to have me & was told she would never conceive. She gave birth on the toilet at 45 years old unaware she was even pregnant & that was back in the late 60s. She continually believed god would answer her prayers & he certainly did. I hope he answers yours too. By the way there was absolutely nothing wrong with me healthwise & I went on to gain a PhD & several other qualifications.

    17. Autism has nothing to to do with the mother’s age but there is a link between autism and fathers who are over 45 years old.

    18. @8:49 Pregnancy and childbirth are not without risks and can take a toll on the human body, no matter your age. This is especially true if you have a lot of kids one right after the other. My mother had six children and she had lifelong urinary issues. BTW, while Down's Syndrome is more frequent in older mothers, it can happen with young women, too. Autism has nothing to do with maternal age. I think a point that gets lost in some of these comments about the Duggars is that their religious beliefs teach that women should be wives, mothers and housekeepers, or else live at home under the authority of their
fathers. It's a patriarchal system that doesn't allow for women having any independence or careers.

    19. I think way too much emphasis is placed on age and pregnancy. It only serves to panic women close to thirty who don’t have a family. I’m sure the stress doesn't help the situation. Everyone needs to chill and stop writing things that negatively affect women of any age. Let them feel good about themselves, relax, and have their beautiful babies.

    20. Fuzzyferet, that is an amazing story about your birth! I can't even imagine what a shock and then wonderful surprise that was for her.

    21. Here, the average age of a first time mother is close to 30. In fact, there are more babies born in women in their 30s then in their 20s.

It is actually unheard of here for a young woman under 25 to have a child. It causes "raised eyebrows". Young people here are encouraged to earn an education and/or training in a trade so they can support themselves. They are encouraged to establish themselves first so they will be in a position to provide for their children.

  16. Happy Birthday Katey!

I don't understand why any person on here would comment on weather or not she is with child. Why can't we simply say Happy Birthday? I get that the family is known to have as many children as possible, and I myself are all for that, but we don't need to add in that she should or shouldn't be right now. Everything is under His timing.

    1. People comment on possible children because Duggars have made it very clear that couples are not in a relationship for themselves. Marriage is a means of procreation. Children are a huge priority, and letting God decide is the primary plan. Since this has been drilled into fans from the beginning, why wouldn’t fans have an expectation of imminent children?

      Delete
    2. Since the family has made it clear that having as many children as possible is their priority you can't expect fans to not speculate on who is pregnant.
