  6. So sweet!!! It’s funny how everyone was having boys, then now everyone is having girls!!! Such sweet little babes. It seems like yesterday Lauren was mourning the loss of her miscarriage but now she’s holding this precious girl. So happy for them.

    2. It's going to get to the point where all you can do is post one big group photo. Otherwise, the individual photos will be a few pixels by a few pixels to fit them all in. It's getting to that tipping point quickly. If Anna has another...

    6. Gee, maybe the blog owners have lives to lead besides updating a header? With Duggar births coming fast and furious, it's a wonder they are able to keep up as well as they do.

      Delete
    7. Not trying to be mean, just pointing something out. This blog has been going for years, with many babies added to the header during that time. No one needs to comment stating that the header should be updated (these comments have been popping up for years too). Let the bloggers run their blog without little reminders about something they already know about.

  20. Lovely little girls all three of them. Bella looks like both Lauren & Josiah at the moment, she looked just like her mum at birth but I see a lot of Josiah in her little face now. So alert & dainty too. Addison & Maryella have changed a lot too & look a lot like their dads. It will be fun for these 3 little girls to grow up together & hopefully we will get to see that in the show if it keeps on being commissioned by the network, & if not I’m sure the lovely ladies that run this blog will keep us updated anyway.

    1. That’s really okay-I agree, and have enough of a challenge keeping track of children in our extended family and local church family. I personally think many of the Duggar fans & blog readers should invest less interest in a celebrity family and more in the people God has placed in their lives.

  25. Yes, I'm going to talk about the elephant in the room, the bows. Lauren had those bows on her baby registry. If you read the reviews, they say they leave marks on the baby's head (along with other assorted interesting remarks). Also, the bows themselves have a warning posted from the maker: "Choking hazard - small parts. Not for children under 3 yrs." Maryella's bow looks like more of a suffocation hazard than a choking one. I recall the dire warning in the news from a mother, after her baby had a fatal suffocation accident involving a bow.

You really have to wonder if wanting your baby girl in a bow is worth all that. I'm surprised the CPSC hasn't called for a ban on them. They are the watchdogs for other products used around babies and often sound the alarm about innocent-looking products with hidden dangers.

    1. If the parent is keeping an eagle eye on the baby the whole time she's wearing the headbands, she should be ok (obviously they should avoid the tight ones that would leave a mark). That would mean no headbands for car rides, sleep, etc. I have read sad stories about them slipping during naps and suffocating babies. What a senseless tragedy!

      Delete
    2. @5:01, I'm sorry if this is mean, but those bows are definitely NOT an elephant in the room. An 'elephant in the room' is something that is blatantly obvious and embarrassing Nobody is thinking about their super cute bows as being a choking hazard except for you.

      Delete
    3. Bows have been around for years. My sister in law always had one on my niece who is now an adult. If children were being suffocated by them, the makers would have been sued and no one would still be selling them. Babies are too little to pull on them. If a mom puts one on her baby almost daily from birth, then the baby is just used to it. They don’t try to pull them off even as they get bigger. If you don’t like them, don’t put them on your kids.... but there is no reason to act like they are dangerous.

    4. Anon 2.59. To be fair to 5.01, a month or so ago I commented on people saying bella’s bow was leaving a mark on her head. I stuck up for Lauren as I didn’t think that the case & brought to attention that if a bow was too big it could slip down over the child while lying in a pram & can in fact asphyxiate the baby. Unfortunately I have seen this happen. I am someone who 21 years ago often put bows on my daughters head (I love them), but you do need to be careful so as I say to be fair to 5.01 she isn’t the only one with concerns about bows, for whatever reason. Always be vigilant & take headwear off in a pram 🙂

      Delete
    5. @ 2:59 An elephant in the room is something that's obvious but nobody wants to bring it up or talk about it. Yes, those bows have been mentioned before as hazardous, and OP is not the only one thinking about it.

@11:32 Yes, agree, but it's too easy for a parent to let that eagle gaze down for a moment, and that's all it takes for trouble to start...

Along with what was already said, I'd like to point out that you're not supposed to put a baby to sleep on its stomach, have anything loose in the crib, hang anything near a crib, have cords on sweatshirt hoods, let clothing bunch up around a sleeping baby's nose or mouth, or bundle a baby in winter clothes in a car seat (the head could fall forward and cause suffocation, or the baby could slip out of the harness in a crash). So why would it be OK to put an elastic band with glued small parts on a baby's head? Or to put a wide fabric band on a slippery bald head? It's time for pediatricians to start speaking up and educating parents about bow dangers. Grandmothers, sisters, and friends should speak up too.

      Delete
    6. 5:01, that was literally a freak accident. Millions of babies wear hairbows and bands everyday and that is the only incident I could find where a baby died. The Duggars babies are all fine, parent your own kids and if you’re going to complain about something, make it something worth while.

      Delete
    7. Actually I am concerned too. If these babies are such blessing, why take chances like that? All so they can look “cute”? They look cute with or without the bows!

      Delete
    8. @1:27 Jan. 19 - Keep searching for incidences of babies choking or suffocating on items of clothing like those bows and you'll see, unfortunately, that it's not a freak or isolated accident. Manufacturers are required to put choking and suffocation warnings on things for good reason. I don't know why mothers are ignoring the dangers of something loose or with small parts on a baby's head. @6:35 Jan. 18 - It would be hard to sue in because the blame could go on the parent for neglecting a warning tag. Those bows come with a warning.

      Delete
    9. @1:27 Even one baby death is one too many. Remember, this is the family who fights for every baby conceived to get a chance to live, whether they're their babies or someone else's babies. It makes no sense they would then do anything dangerous once the babies are born. Bows, Bumbo seats, car seats...we've seen it all and frankly, it's worrisome.

      Delete
    10. Did it occur to you that maybe the bow is only for taking pictures and it comes off soon after?

      Delete
    11. This is unbelievable. Some people will worry about anything. Accidents happen with almost everything. You can slip on a floor and hit your head, you can fall down stairs. You can have a car accident. Please, if you are so protective you don't believe in a bow being on a baby of a responsible aware parent then you should also believe a child should never get in a car or go swimming, ect.

      Delete
    12. There is no "taking chances" by putting a bow on a baby. The "taking chances" is if you leave the baby unattended with the bow on, and even then the chance is extremely small.

      Delete
    13. @11:04 The trick to avoiding most accidents is to start by removing the obvious dangers. Bows are obvious dangers. You wouldn't leave cords or plastic bags around your babies. Those bows are not much more than fancy cords and plastic bags.

      Delete
    14. Only one death is too many? That may sound good and make you feel good but it is absolutely unrealistic. If one death is too many never get in a car, ride an airplane or bus. Never let her kid out of your house ever and make sure the whole house is wrapped in bubble wrap. That's how unrealistic your statement of never one child is. We take chances everyday with our lives and our children's. You can't ban everything that ever causes a death or accident.

  27. What’s wrong with Little Addison’s eye? Garrett sees to have been born with the same condition. Seems like it got better over time, tho.

    1. It's not a condition. One eye just squints more when she smiles. One of my eyes does that too. I think it gives her a cute, mischievous look.

    2. Your comment leads to a more relevant question- what's wrong with you that you feel it necessary to point out what you think is "wrong" with someone's baby?

    3. I'm reminded of all the people who saw pics of premature Josie and were sure that things were horribly wrong, those who were sure that various grandkids had Down's Syndrome, those who just knew something was wrong with Gideon because of his size. Leave the diagnoses to the professionals.

  29. can we get an update on how the moms are adjusting to having a new baby? For example, I'm sure it's a big adjustment for Josiah and Lauren going from being a couple to having their first baby. And for Joseph & Kendra, it's a lot going from 1 baby to 2 babies. And how is Anna adjusting to having another baby around? I think this would be interesting to know about how they are doing in the day to day, real life.
