Felicity Vuolo and Jim Bob Duggar
Felicity Vuolo and Jim Bob Duggar

This week has been a difficult one for the Duggar family, as they mourn the loss of Grandma Duggar and make funeral preparations. Jinger and Jeremy Vuolo are visiting from Laredo and were able to have breakfast with Jim Bob and Michelle this morning.

  10. Having such a large close family around must be very comforting to Jim Bob at this very sad time. I know when I lost my father in my early 20s after loosing my mother at 12 I was left with no siblings & no family to speak of (I didn’t really know my aunts & uncles). Thankfully it was a time I took comfort in my faith & I feel god guided me those first few months as a young woman who felt so lost. JB can take joy in his faith & his family & just those wonderful hugs from little felicity & the rest of his grandchildren, that I’m sure are making him feel better. I’m sure it doesn’t matter what age you are, young like I was or in your 50s like JB, loosing your mother & having no parents left really does hit you hard.

    1. I am sorry for what you went through as well. That's so young to lose your parents.

  11. Poor Jim Bob and his sister Deanna must be in such shock over this sudden loss of their Mom. Life is so fragile.

  13. Felicity is such an adorable mix of Jeremy and Ginger-such a beautiful baby!

  14. I watched old footage of Grandma Duggar today on YouTube. She was an awfully sweet grandmother and it was plain to see how adored she was. I feel so bad for the Duggars. They have sure seen their share of sorrows in that family down through the years.

  17. God bless and comfort the Duggars and all who loved Mary. What a beautiful, precious and kind lady. So classy and elegant! Its so tough having both parents in heaven. No matter what age a person is or how mamy loved ones surround them, it can feel very lonely and hollow inside.
Nice to see Felicity got a smile out of Jim Bob! Precious baby girl and I just noticed she has his nose and eyebrows! So cute! I pray God can heal all in due time. Baby smiles and cuddles sure help the sadness.

  18. A sweet moment of pure innocence amidst tragedy. I am sure all the little ones are giving that this week. They remind us life goes on and we are needed. Prayers to you all. Eileen

    5. Why is that your concern.so judge.ental.leave the man and his hair decisions be.there ate bigger things to be concerned with than nit picking this man apart.

  20. Why this right now? Aren't they requesting privacy?

    1. People handle loss and grief in their own way. If the Duggars want to post things on social media at this time, then it's OK, IMO

    2. They released the picture, so it must be approved by them.

    3. Grandma Duggar would have loved this picture! She loved Felicity as she did all the others. I am so sorry for the family'S loss. Prayers continue for them

    4. Why would they release this picture, he just lost his Mom. They should just stay private in this grieving time.

      Delete
    5. I think Grandmom Duggar would have wanted a picture of Jim Bob and Deanna with herself together. They are her kids.

      Delete
    6. I don't think it's right to tell anyone what they "should" do when they are grieving. Maybe this sweet picture gave them a little joy in their hard time and they wanted to share it with others.

      Delete
    7. Anon 4:07 I think the Duggar s themselves were asking for some privacy during this time and then seeing a picture of Jim Bob smiling while holding his Granddaughter is kind of confusing. Maybe they should allow this time to be a private time for their family.

    8. 6:44, I see it as their call as to what they release and when. Their releasing a picture is doing things on their terms. Asking for others to give them privacy, to let them be, is also on their terms. I don't think the two are incompatible. When someone is grieving, you let them have that space to do what they need or want to do.

  21. We are so very sorry for your loss. We follow your family closely. Grandma Duggar was such a Godly testimony, and influence. She truly was a Prov 31 lady. My girls and I liked to watch 19 kids and counting together and now watch counting on together. It's so great to be able to put examples such as Grandma Duggar ,Mrs.Duggar and all the young Duggar ladies in front of them as example and role models. Thank you for living your lives for the Glory of God. Thank you for sharing your precious Mother and Grandmother with us. Our prayers are with your family.God bless .

  22. A picture of Jim Bob and Deanna would have been nice since Mary is their Mom. They are the two that felt this loss the hardest.

    1. That's true, a nice picture of Jim Bob and Deanna and Mary their Mom together in an earlier happier time would be perfect.

  23. Good that Jinger and Jeremy are there. I wonder when the funeral will be.

  24. I've been talking to Deanna, she's doing okay, however she's the one who found her mother and called authorities. So devastating. She's told me that by the grace of God she's hanging in there. The family really needs a lot of prayer's right now. Mary's death was a complete and tragic accident.

    1. Yes. What a traumatic experience for her. She will need a lot of support from family and friends to deal with it.

    2. Excusing the possibility that you’re lying, do you really think it’s your business to be posting personal details about the family online?

      Delete
    3. I’ve always wondered if grandma Duggar moved out of the big house and lived on her own before she died? And what was the accident? I’m so sorry this happened to the family as they treasured their grandma.

    5. That's sad to hear. We are praying for them.

    6. IMO too much pressure is put on people who have been devastated by something that happens in life to "hang in there". It's OK to be overwhelmed and let others who haven't been so affected take care of things for a while. This idea of "soldiering on" is highly overrated.

    7. Did she pass away in her sleep?

    8. I don't wish to be unkind to you, but I am always a bit skeptical of people posting on this blog claiming to be "friends" with the Duggars and revealing personal conversations with one of them. I think any private conversation you may have had with Deana should have remained PRIVATE.

  26. I have prayed and still am praying for your family. I didn't even know her but have watched the show for a long time. My heart broke for you all upon reading of her sudden death. I am thankful to the Lord that he didn't let her suffer a long and miserable death with some kind of sickness as some do when life happens. But I know that even though life will go on for all of us, you guys will still be grieving and learning to live life without her. "May God bless and keep you the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you, the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace" Numbers 6:24-26

    1. Both my mother and father suffered through long and miserable deaths. A loving God would not “ let” that happen.

  27. Grandma Mary is now in her heavenly home. As her life ended, Jesus, always present, gathered her in his arms to take her the place Jesus promised would be hers. She is reunited with those who have gone before and waits for those yet to enter God’s heavenly kingdom. Grandma Duggar lives on in her family - her business acumen in Jim Bob; the light of living life to the fullest in Jessa; the sweet smile of Felicity. It was a life well-lived, Grandmother Duggar. Thank you for sharing a small part of your life with us. And now you may rest from your labors.

    1. I'm not sure that wishing them a happy FD is appropriate, when they're in mourning and about to hold services for a loved one. Not much to be happy about there.

      Delete
    2. Anon 7:41. What would you consider an appropriate "period of mourning" when all normal family days and celebrations should be suspended? Six months? A year? Families for the most part take comfort in following their established routines including celebration of Father's Day.

    3. Just a different perspective from someone who lost a parent six weeks ago: there were tears and sadness when we were together as a family for a few days surrounding the funeral. However, we still had joy being with each other, thanking God for the good memories and being able to laugh some of the time. If it had been mother's day, we would have celebrated my mom and let her know we appreciate her and love her. Yesterday was a time to be thankful for the dads in their family who are still here on earth, to set aside the grief for a little while and express their love and appreciation for the dads. When you know your loved one is in heaven and that you'll be with them some day, it takes away some of the sting. As you dwell on the good memories and allow yourself to feel thankful for the good, it lifts your spirits to an extent.
