ANOTHER Duggar Grandchild?!

Joy Forsyth, Austin Forsyth, Gideon Forsyth
Thanksgiving 2018

"I was pretty nervous when we found out we were expecting another baby, but I know that we have nine months to prepare and that the Lord will give us the strength and wisdom..."
-Joy-Anna Duggar Forsyth

The grandbabies just keep coming for Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar! At this rate, it won't be long at all before their grandchildren outnumber their children. Last week, Josh and Anna announced that they are expecting their sixth, and today, another couple has big news.

Joy and Austin Forsyth are expecting their second child in November 2019! At that point, older brother Gideon Forsyth will be one year and nine months old. Visit the TLC website to watch the couple's announcement video.

    1. Yep. Obviously he and Michelle already knew.

  3. So that's mysterious 16th grandchild JB mentioned. No surprise. We knew Joy had the "itch".

  4. Congratulations, hope the pregnancy goes well. Lauren will be next then Abbie then Jill.

  5. There goes the header. Big time.

    2. I suggest putting links below the header for each family because there won't be room for all of the grandchildren on the header soon without making the pictures really small. The link will just take you to a picture with names for each little family.

      Delete
    3. They'll just have to double up. lol

      Delete
    4. But they have 9 months to prepare a new header and surely the Lord will give them strength and wisdom 😂

    5. It could just say, "Josh, Jana, John, Jill.....Oh what the bother, you know all the rest!" LOL

      Delete
    6. That is so not funny! 🙁 It’s actually sacrilegious, as a new header has nothing to do with God, whereas a baby being formed is totally God’s doing!!

  6. Poor Lauren. She's being surrounded by expectant months and is empty handed. So sad.

    1. How do you know she's empty-handed?

      Delete
    2. "The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away" was what Michelle once said. I'm sure Lauren has heard that too. She's going to have to come to terms that this is a big family who reproduce frequently. Her day will come. The others have not been without their problems, too.

      Delete
    3. Be careful with regards with Lauren, she will have a baby 100%, it is just maybe not her time, (if U will), I love U 2!!!!!!!!

      Delete
    4. Months? I know u mean mothers but..No, what's sad is everyone having to rub it in and make her(Lauren) feel worse. It does not help at all by saying poor Lauren.

      Delete
    5. All of this talk about Lauren having babies is so terribly insensitive! If she never has any children it makes her no less of a person. It is sad and patheticthat people are rating her solely on her reproduction potential. This is a serious societal problem. I know. I live it to this day myself. I often am dismissed and looked down upon for never having had children. My heart breaks for her that she may be feeling and experiencing the same things I do. It hurts. Please don't spread and perpetuate that kind of pain.

      Delete
    6. While you are saying she is empty handed she might be pregnant. She might be waiting to see is further along

      Delete
    7. I agree with 7:51! It's the same thing with the Bates family, everyone says "poor Michael". They are dealing with their problems and are happy for the others. Stop bringing up their problems with every announcement from a family member! Remember that Erin and Chad went through losses before Carson was born.

      Delete
    8. 9:06, where did anyone say that she is less of a person because she doesn’t have children? People were saying that they feel bad for her since we all known she wants kids (although I do agree that there is no reason to continually bring her up on the posts announcing new Duggar babies), but no one said they think any less of her.

  7. just curious why these girls are surprised when they get pregnant? That is going to be a lot of new babies!!!!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Maybe she was nursing full time and hadn’t restarted her cycle before she got pregnant again, that happened to my mom with my two younger siblings who are 20 months apart.

      Delete
    2. That "surprise" thingy is wearing thin. Kendra and Joy already had had babies so they could EXPECT to get pregnant again if they didn't use BC.

      Delete
    3. Yes it doesn't makes sense they are surprised to be pregnant when they don't use birth control. I guess it is just something they say.

      Delete
    4. They’re surprised, because any given month, a woman has approximately a 38% chance of getting pregnant. And that’s when they track when they believe they’re fertile!! Since these girls claim to leave fertility to God, I would assume that means they do not track fertility, and therefore would have a lower chance of conceiving each month. They do not “try” to get pregnant, just as they do not try not to get pregnant. So when it happens, it is a delight and a surprising, since no intentional effort was made.

      Delete
    5. I know right !!!!! The parents gonna have more grandkids than kids goodness someone stays expecting all the time and all under two years old when the next one comes

      Delete
    6. joy-anna didnt say she was surprised. she said she was nervous. big difference

      Delete
    7. Please wake up everone : Nursing is not a form of birth control!!!!!!!!!!!

      Delete
    8. 3:45- They've talked about stocking up on pregnancy tests and testing early and often, so that is an indication that they do anticipate pregnancies.

      Delete
    9. 6:02 it's not uncommon for grandchildren to outnumber the children! My family has double the number of grandchildren as children! My grandmother has triple the number of grandchildren as she does children!

      Delete
    10. @3:45 Fertility is age related and these young women are in their more fertile ages. Plus, they might not be tracking their more fertile times of the month but that does not mean that they have a lower chance of conceiving each month. A young couple would tend to be intimate frequently in a month, negating your statement.

Using no birth control means that the couple should not be surprised if they conceive another child.

      Delete
    11. Maybe it's just a figure of speech and there are those who take it a bit literally instead of focusing on the big picture. Just a thought.

      Delete
    12. I can just say that I was actively trying for a baby and was still surprised when I got a positive. No matter what there's still that moment of "oh, wow....okay, this is really happening...like now..."

      Delete
    13. Thank you, 10:39... People here need to relax !

      Delete
    14. 7:39, it is if you nurse full time, it prevents you from ovulating. However if you are only nursing part time then you are going to continue to ovulate.

      Delete
    15. I nursed full time and I very obviously ovulated as I got pregnant when my baby was only 4 1/2 months old, so you better be changing your strong statement, ma’am. Thank you.

      Delete
    16. 6:11, that is a disproven myth. While most women who breastfeed exclusively won’t get pregnant in the first 6 months, up to 30% of women will. Nursing exclusively doesn’t prevent ovulation in all women.

      Delete

  10. On my another baby. These women are baby machines! But it shouldn't be a surprise that Joy is pregnant again as they don't use birth control. I wonder which couple will have as many kids as Michelle and Jim @aBob?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I find this insulting. My first born is the same age as Joy's, and I am pregnant with her brother or sister who'll be born in December. That was very much a choice and our plan. It could be theirs too. We were still in shock when we found out, as in "on it's getting real now". But we're very happy!

      Delete
    2. No couple needs to have as many kids as Michelle and Jim Bob, or even try to. There were huge problems with Michelle's attempt. Why put your body through that and risk your life - the life of the mother of your other children that you're supposed to be taking care of? Why risk having a preemie that needs intensive medical care, just to add to your number? Two or three kids is just as much of a blessing as twenty-two or twenty-three.

      Delete
    3. Kendra seems the most likely :)

      Delete
    4. My money is on Joe and Kendra. She’s the youngest, had no delivery complications, and is having her second child barely a month after her 2nd wedding anniversary

      Delete
    5. 4:22 pm Your statement is ignorant. It alludes that a premie only happens with a woman who has had many children . A premie can happen with a first pregnancy .

      Delete
    6. Kendra. She's built for robust child bearing. lol

      Delete
    7. @2:34, if it was your choice and your plan, why were you shocked? Shocked implies unexpected.

      Delete
    8. I hope none of them gets to 19 children! It's a huge strain on the mum's body.

      Delete
    9. @9:16, here is 2:34. We were shocked because I got pregnant at the first try ! We were delighted but never dreamt of it as it took us a really long time to get pregnant with our first kid. And I'm soon going to be 40 so I thought it'd be more difficult. Allow people to live their emotions. We don't all react the same, but every reaction is legit !

  11. This is what keeps the show Counting On ,on the air the adult married Duggars having babies all the time. But the show is only courting, engagement, weddings and births. That's why show won't be on much longer. Seems like they are making less shows all the time.

    2. @2:13PM Yes, I don't need to turn on TV to see that stuff happening. It happens in real life. Nothing spectacular or outstanding about the Duggars doing it. Everyone does.

      Delete
    3. No, they've also shown date nights and get togethers between the married kids, home improvements/projects. There's lots of interesting things going on in the show. 'Wish they had more episodes!

      Delete
    4. Birth announcements although are nice, watching birth after birth on a reality show is kind of a shallow premise. I agree with you that if it's going to be about weddings, honeymoons, pregnancies and births, then the interest in the show is going to fizzle out. We have all those events in our own lives so we don't need to watch them same things in other people's lives.

      Delete
    5. Personally I'd like to see more of their everyday lives. If it's not one of the above mentioned massive events then they are always doing some "special project". I think it would be fun to see a day in the life of each of the families as well as the big family still at home. See how they each go about their days, what their routines look like, how the main family has adjusted their routines and roles to a smaller group, how each of the sons and daughters are fitting what they learned in the big house to their own families and what changes they are making to suit their lives. That would be pretty cool.

      Delete
    6. 9:19- Yes, I find the current themes to be getting old. I don't try to keep track of who's having a baby or who's had one. There are just too many.

      Delete
    7. To 9:19, not everyone has those things in their life, as you stated. I don't for one. I enjoy watching them. I am sure I am not alone.

  13. I wonder if all wisdom comes from the Lord. The Bible says people make bad choices and ask God what went wrong. Not saying for them to have their 2nd child is wrong. But how many chocolate messes are wise when expecting?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. LOL! Yeah, those are so unhealthy, even once in awhile. We stay away from processed sugar.

      Delete
    2. One chocolate mess a day sounds good to me. lol

      Delete
    3. The baby gets the nutrients it needs, especially when you take your prenatal...and unless you have actually been pregnant you have no idea what food cravings and aversions are actually like and how hard it can sometimes be to eat anything. Don't be judgypants.

      Delete
    4. 4:35 “don’t be a judgypants” (Not a word) If you’re going to be pregnant that means sacrificing a bit and doing what is best for your baby. Not saying that you can’t have any sugar while pregnant, but you really aren’t supposed to have much, and multiple chocolate messes throughout your pregnancy is NOT going to be good for the baby. Let’s keep in mind that Joy’s midwife had to tell her that she needed to start eating better.

      Delete
  14. In the TLC video she said they hope to have another room before the baby is born so that Gideon will have a room, and the new baby will be in with them. Where are they living that they only have a single bedroom at the moment? They both seem so ill prepared for bringing up children. It won't get easier now that there will be two kids.

    1. I think they still live in the RV shown when Joy was pregnant with Gideon. They flipped and sold the house Joy attempted to homebirth in.

      Delete
    2. They were back in the RV last I saw.

      Delete
    3. Hahahaha Anna Marine Shirley that is so great and so true!
It would be interesting to see how they are managing in the RV though.

      Delete
    4. Anna- Yes, and pioneers had dirt floors and sod walls as well. What is your point, exactly? It's interesting to know that in order to be approved to adopt a child, you must have adequate housing and income. Living in an RV would never pass muster.

      Delete
    5. I think Austin is "flipping" a house so they aren't in a regular house right now. Hopefully they will be settled when the new baby arrives.

      Delete
    6. Austin needs to get his act together and sort out a permanent home for his expanding family, it isn't fair on Joy or the babies to constantly be moving from one house to an RV over and over again, they need stability, (and please don't say military families do it all the time they are not in the military).

      Delete
    7. Pioneers also had high infant and child mortality rates, and many mothers died in childbirth. It was not all Little House on the Prairie back then. Point is, there's no need for Duggars to live like pioneers and all pile into an RV. The family owns multiple properties, developed and undeveloped, and they are house builders and renovators, remember? There should be room at some inn for Joy. She shouldn't have to look for a stable - or a parking space for that RV.

      Delete
    8. Yes, the pioneers had less; less access to healthcare, fewer children reaching adulthood, fewer opportunities for education, less economic security...

      Delete
  15. My intuition is telling me they are having a girl. I get no vibes from the other three!! Healthy babies for all!!

    ReplyDelete
  16. As I commented on the previous post, by the end of 2019 the grandchildren could very well be as many as the children. All it takes is for Abbia, Lauren and Jill to have babies as well, which I think isn't impossible...
Even if they don't have babies by the end of 2019, the probably will within the first half of 2020!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Congrats to Joy and Austin. Hearing about second babies always makes me happy, I was only able to have one child and she hated being an only child. So happy Gideon will have a sibling.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I hope for her sake that Jill not have anymore. Such huge babies and difficult deliveries. Joy had a difficult time with Gideon's birth too.

    ReplyDelete

    1. I mean, we all know Jill is going to be pregnant by the end of the year... Just as Abbie and Lauren...

      Delete
    2. Hopefully on her next pregnancy Jill will see about being induced earlier like Jinger did and also consider an epidural...they really do help labor go quicker and easier sometimes because they let the body actually relax.

      Delete
    3. Jill is likely to be advised by her doctor that due to the size of her babies and two prior c sections a vbac is not recommended. Yes, I know some of you have done it, but why take the risk with your life and the babies. A healthy baby is the goal no matter how it gets here.

  20. Thats an odd comment to make about being nervous, I assume they don't use birth control they are young and fertile so of course they are going to get pregnant. Maybe she is nervous after her awful labor and delivery with Gideon I hope they seek better medical advice this time around and don't try for a VBAC if advised against it, especially after what happened to Jill with Sam.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Maybe she was talking about being nervous to have 2 small children instead of one.

    2. I've had three vbacs, and they've been wonderful. First one was only 18 months after my csection.

      Delete
    3. Anon @ 10:16 OP here I am glad to hear you had great experiences with your VBACs. I said that I hoped Joy would take medical advice IF advised not to try for a VBAC. I also hope she does not allow Jill or anyone other than a fully qualified midwife or doctor near her, these girls take dangerous risks with their deliveries, take a leaf out of Kendra or Jingers books and go to a hospital or birthing centre.

      Delete
    4. And you are very fortunate!!

      Delete
    5. 3:39, Jill still could have tried for a vbac, but done it in a hospital where she could be monitored, instead of waiting 48 hours and having to have a tramatic emergency csection.

  24. Wow, so many babies, hopefully Lauren and Josiah will be expecting soon. They are all so young to be having so many babies, so close together, but given they don't use birth control it's bound to happen so quick. I wish they had time to be married couples before having kids but that is not the Duggar way. Marriage is not easy and being parents is no walk in the park, good luck to them all. Praying for Anna, she is in the most difficult situation.

    3. For us, getting pregnant two months into our marriage brought us closer together. When l was 8 months along, he looked at me and said, "You've been pregnant over half the time I've known you!" He was so proud, and I was just mortified. Funny memory!

      Delete
    4. When I got married my minister recommended we wait a year before getting pregnant. To give ourself time to know each other. My husband read the side effects of the pill and we decided to take our chances. I got pregnant 6 weeks after being married. With as easy as I got pregnant after she was born I went on the pill. I am so thankful I had my daughter but, if I knew then what I know now I would have taken that year for us to know each other better. We still would have had her just a year later.

      Delete
    6. I don't think, that this is very likely. In a 2014/2015 episode of 19 Kids and Counting, they showed Michelle and Jim Bob, going to see a fertility doctor, and Michelle getting some tests done. When the doctor called Michelle, he indicated that the tests revealed that Michelle was starting Menopause.

    8. I think it is funny you people are talking about 52 as if she was 90! LOL! It could happen at 52!

      Delete
    9. 8:13, 52 might as well be 90 as far as getting pregnant again. After her last two pregnancies, the chances of the baby making it anywhere close to full term would be slim to none.

      Delete
    10. 8:13- Why would anyone entertain the idea of that kind of risky situation for someone is beyond me. My own mother became pregnant late in life and it nearly killed her. It's no LOL matter! Joking about it is so inappropriate.

For her health I had hoped they would wait a little longer as is advisable after a C Section, however let’s hope with good anti-natal care all will be well for mum & baby. have supported their children, not the state or federal governments.

Lots more kids means a strain on local school systems. That's exactly what's happening where I live, which is rather conservative and the majority doesn't want to raise taxes in order to support education.

    1. It would be exciting if they lived as independent adults before rushing into marriage and parenthood.

    2. To each their own. I am sure you appreciate everyone who supports YOUR decisions on how you live your life and feel FRUSTRATION towards everyone who voices opinions on what you should be doing differently. Treat others with that same courtesy and don't judge them for living their lives. John-David and Jana are perfect examples that if the Duggar children wanted to wait for marriage they would absolutely be allowed to.

  41. I believe this will make four babies for 2019. Some girls would be nice to add to the clan. Actually, as long as each baby is healthy, that is all I wish for.

  46. Sad. Joy should be living with roommates and learning how to support herself. Nobody should become a parent if they’ve never been independent themselves.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Learning to support yourself is a responsability that parents that want to get rid of their children make them have, Duggars are more than happy to support their children till they marry, and if God forbid she becomes a widow they will help her support herself with a business, maybe some type of store like cousin Amy, they that with Josh when he left his job, oh and Joy isn't sad, she loves her life, this is what she always wanted, would you like her to go to college so she can be teased for having different outlooks and beliefs, now I think that would make her sad,and her parents don't want that burden on her.

    2. It’s not “sad” if this what she wants.

  47. I would really love to see this family off the air and making the best out of the small fortune they’ve amassed. They’ve had enough time on TV announcing pregnancies every other day. Enough.

    1. If you are annoyed and bored with hearing about their news and lives then why on earth are you on this blog? I think car racing is boring, which is why I don't watch it or follow blogs on it...you just sound bitter and silly to be complaining about it on this forum...or at all. Find something else to occupy your time and you will probably be happier.

    2. 11:45 -- If they're comfortable being on TV, it's a nice way to make money. If you don't like it, just tune out. I don't watch the shows, just catch up here on DFB.

    3. I don't watch the shows either, I just catch up here also. But, some people enjoy the show. So be it. I find all the talk about weddings and babies boring. Would watch again if one of them did something interesting.

  50. My biggest concern is that they haven't stuck to what the doctors would have recommended to her about a second child after c section. It's too soon. I dont wish her ill, far from it but I do wish they had a bit more sense medically. Surely there is no sense in opting for a risky second pregnancy and delivery and potentially leaving a newborn and a one year old without a mother just to scratch that baby itch.

    1. Actually a lot of doctors just say wait a year (some day two, it just depends who you go to) so they really didn’t break any rules. If they she had gotten pregnant like a six months afterwards I would have been conserned, but this is fine.

      Delete
    2. Some doctors say to wait as little as 6 months, however most good obstetricians say wait at least 2 years, this is also the criteria listed by the World Health Organization who state it is to “reduce the risk of adverse maternal, perinatal & infant outcomes.” This is especially true if you want to attempt a VBAC as it gives the C Section scar time to heal properly & therefore less chance of uterine rupture during delivery. It also decreases the chances of low lying placenta (which can cause severe bleeding as the uterus grows). I said in my post I would of been happier had joy waited a little longer to get pregnant because of the health risks but hopefully she will be under the care of a very good obstetrician from the get go & any problems that may arise can be delt with early on. I said I had hoped she would wait purely because I want this young woman to have a healthy pregnancy & good delivery & I would rather err on the side of caution (especially when dealing with a young mother who already has a 14 month old infant at home to take care of). I rather like this young woman & felt very sorry for her during her last pregnancy with some of the awful rumours about when she got pregnant, she at least doesn’t have that to contend with this time round. I do hope she has good care & is well throughout the entire pregnancy & delivery, but like Anon 2.23 I am slightly concerned that joy didn’t wait, & surly as a supporter of this family you should feel the same way ? This is not about breaking any rules, this is about the health of a young woman & her unborn child. If it were my daughter I would be concerned & would rather the longer time period adhered to just to be super safe. I would also advise any woman that asked me the safe timescale between C Section & a subsequent pregnancy to wait 2 years. In your last few words you state “this is fine” are you a medical professional ? I just wonder because if you are I would assume you would rather be extra cautious than not when dealing with a young mother, & if you are not a medical professional saying something like “this is fine” isn’t really appropriate, as you are not medically qualified to do so.

  64. It’s wild hearing about Joy having her second baby. She was born the same week as my brother. Tonight my brother is celebrating the end to his junior year of college. I wish her well. I hope this is the life she wanted and not just the path she felt she had to take.
I am surprised she is pregnant when a few months ago she was making waves talking about her weight loss plan.
    Cheers!
PS I wonder what type of bridesmaids dress she will wear for Carlin’s wedding in a few weeks.

  65. Confirmation of a new life is always a surprise even when planned. She was just trying to express her feelings and used that word. I have had 3 kids and every time I took the test and it was positive I had this surprised feeling that there is a new life and the realization of what it all entails Even if you really wanted and planned the child one can still feel nervous when it happens, because you want to do your best for this child and don't want to fail him. It is actually a sign that you are a responsible parent, not something negative as some try to portray it as.

  66. Congratulations Joy and Austin, I'm glad to hear the announcement. I can't wait to watch the gender reveal and the arrival of the little one. I have a couple names for you. For the girl: Jerrica Marie and for the boy: Jacob Daniel. Prayers for a healthy pregnancy. Looking forward to the new seasons. Natasha B.
