  1. Why is Jeremy included in here? He's not a father yet.

    3. The Duggars believe life begins when an egg is released from an ovary; Jeremy is clearly a daddy by duggar logic.

    4. Anon at 11:33AM: I have never heard any Duggar state "life begins when an egg is released from an ovary". They probably believe life begins when egg and sperm unite. They are against both birth control and abortion but that doesn't mean they see no difference between an UNfertilized egg and a fertilized one.

And BTW because people have made this analogy before; the vast majority of chicken eggs sold on the market are UNfertilized. Yes, hens lay eggs either way, but only the latter will result in a baby chick. So people who eat chicken eggs are NOT eating "chicken abortions".

    5. 11:33, no when the sperm meets the egg, otherwise every period would be considered a miscarriage.

    8. 11:33- I thought the Duggars believe life begins at conception, not when an egg is released.

    9. Well Jinger is pregnant now so Jeremy is a daddy

    10. Pregnant women are called expectant mothers, which would make the expectant fathers . . . fathers! Jeremy fathered a child, why not include him in the list?

  10. I agree that the Duggar family has been evasive about what the sons and sons-in-law actually DO for a living day to day outside of this TV show. I, for one, would also like to know what they do to support these children they have instantly.

    1. It's all so vague. Which is odd, because we know everything else about them, like they gag when they run and they know how to order a cake for a surprise birthday party. But they talk in circles when it comes to explaining what they do for a living. That should be something a man (a father) is eager to explain. You don't suppose the silence is because they realize they aren't really gainfully employed, that they're living off what the TV show brings in and what little work their father can provide them? Or from donations? Without explanations, we can only go by what we see happening, which isn't much. There are only so many houses to flip, lawns to mow, or patches of land to bulldoze. After that, how do you pay the bills and support your family?

    2. It really doesn't matter. As you can rest assured YOU, IN NO WAY, SHAPE OR FORM ARE SUPPORTING ANY OF THEM...

    3. 10:39 that is not accurate. Our tax system pays families to have children, so really people like me - who pay into the tax system and have no children - do support them, and any other family with children. Child tax credits are a form of socialized childcare whereby parents get to contribute less to our tax pool the more children they have. Furthermore, it is entirely possible some of these young families could be drawing on certain social programs like food stamps, welfare, or free child healthcare to low- or non-earning parents.

    4. It does matter, if you're going to be on TV and expecting people to watch you raise your families so the show keeps going...but you leave out one important part, like what you do all day! This seems like omission. Yes, viewers are supporting them in a big way because there wouldn't be a show without viewers.

    5. Anon at 2:06PM: Your attitude reminds me of people who rag on "welfare queens" for supposedly having children just so they can get a bigger welfare check.

I doubt any of the Duggars are on welfare. The show pays them well, as do the magazines they sell exclusive stories to. I do understand people are concerned about what might happen AFTER the show ends and the fame fades; which it will eventually. I also think anyone who jumps into having a lot of children without thinking of how to support them with a "if the Duggars can do it, so can I" attitude, that would be naive and foolish.

But I certainly don't share your conspiratorial "they might be secretly collecting welfare while pretending to be independent" attitude. Also, if you really think the Duggars are sketchy freeloaders who'd be broke without the show, and think they're deliberately covering that up, then why are you still following them?

  11. Glad I found this tonight! I really miss the Original series and it is good to find this family exploding with new babies and grandchildren! You all still have a passel left to go Jim Bob and Michelle! Praying for you all. I came from a family of 12. And believe me when I say watching your show helped me see how my family could have ran more functionally. It really helped! Love you all!
