  3. Happy Birthday to them both! I hope they are on the show more and are shown doing stuff on their own. They should be out spreading their wings and being independent of their family at this point. I feel like John-David is to some degree, but Jana isn't. I'd love to see her get her own apartment or house and see how she'd decorate it and go about being on her own. I'd love to see what John David does for work and his social life outside of the family.

    1. I totally agree - It would be nice to see Jana being her own person. You don't have to be married with children to be successful. I would love to hear more of her thoughts - not the parents or the shows. Hope that happens soon.

  6. Do they both still live at home with their parents? So far, the Duggar pattern is for the adult kids to move out only when they get married. Curious to know if this is an expectation or part of their religious beliefs. I know there are some church groups who endorse this.

    1. Or maybe it's about everyone working together in the family until someone starts their own family. That's a possibility.

    2. I'd like to know why the boys can get paid jobs (granted, working for the family) when single but the girls can't.

  9. Best wishes to them both. They seem happy and instead of getting married and being tied down with a bunch of kids are engaging in activities they enjoy. John-David flying his plane and Jana working in her garden.

    1. Maybe they don't want to "court" anybody and are perfectly content being single. Why wish something for someone else when you don't really know if that's what they truly want?

  24. Nothing against pants, but skinny jeans are not modest. And Jills body shows her body shape. Don't think is modest.

    1. That's your opinion. Personally I think skinny jeans can be more modest than skirts or dresses. You can still see the outline of someone's legs when they walk in a dress or skirt, and the wind can blow up a skirt, if you're doing a sport your skirt can ride up, etc.

    2. Also this post was not about Jill so why bring that up?

    3. I would like to say something about Jill since her name was bought up. A friend of mine met Jill and let me tell you something people, Jill is soaring in Christ and people really look up to her. Her and Derick both are doing some awesome things for the young men and women who they minister and teach. Jill wearing pants instead of skirts all the time isn't holding her back an inch from serving God.

    4. But Jill deciding to wear pants must have brought up a mental conflict for her, since that went against everything she was taught as a child. What people are reacting to is how quickly these girls have "changed" since they got married. It makes you wonder if their convictions, which were supposed to be because of their religious beliefs, were sincere in the first place.

I love your comment so much.

    6. 12:24 -- Maybe their convictions were not as sincere as their parents' convictions. But isn't that true of all obedient children? They do as we ask when they live at home, but once on their own, they start to find their own way.

  26. I truly would like ALL of the children to focus on what makes them happy while still keeping in mind their believes but doing their best to go on with their lives. Our job as parents is to raise our children the best we can in our believes. What happens to our children after they get married or even if they don't marry is truly up to them. Before the children move out of their parents home, they have the respect to follow their parents rules. Sad to say this is rare in our world, but very respectful and something that God woud want us to do. Once the do leave their parents home and their rules, they can decide how to live their own life. You are able to see how they decide to live their life. Right or Wrong - it is not for us to decide. They are the only one that need to decide for themselves what is best for them. The only person that should judge them for anything will be God in the future. Only God should judge. We each have to live our own lives and the mistakes me make our up to us to make and we have to live with those mistakes. Everyone also has their own personalities, and will lead their live as they want. I have only posted on this site one other time. I use to be a big Duggar fan, but I do think the show has gone as far as it should. I think it is time for the spin offs to fade and let all of the entire family lead them own life without TV and Media. If they continue to want to do mission work - great - but let it be their choice - and financially I should think it is time for the bank to close as well. Most people in our world have to be concerned about what kind of job they will have and make ends meet without depending on a TV show to pay for them to live. I don't want to appear negative, but I am hoping that TLC will see that the show is over and let ALL of them go on with their life. Then you will see how well they can survive in this world on their own! Just my thoughts!
