New Photos of the Little Duggars

The Duggar family (including Jessa and Ben Seewald and Josh and Anna Duggar) spent last week in Big Sandy, Texas, for the annual homeschool conference. We posted a batch of pictures on Thursday (click here to view) and we have a few more to share.

**Several of our readers mentioned that they attended this year's conference. We know our other readers would be very interested to hear about it, so please send us an email (duggarfamilyblog@gmail.com) if you would like to share your experiences/pictures.

  1. Please don't tell me that Joy has fallen into the "I have a fiancee, I can't eat!" pattern that her sister did. She looks much thinner than usual.

    1. I'm failing to see your point. Is there something wrong with wanting to feel and look your best for your wedding day and the beginning of your marriage? She doesn't look sickly thin, she looks healthy beautiful and fit.

    2. Or maybe she's been working out?

    3. With their family history of an eating disorder, I wonder about this, too.

    4. I've read the IBLP stance on how women are supposed to keep themselves trim, and I'm wondering if she has taken that advice (written from a strong male viewpoint) to heart? She looked absolutely fine before, but something has happened to make her weight go down, whether on purpose or not.

    5. When your in love you usually don't eat much. Lol. People read into everything with this family.

    6. I Know She is a lot thinner,I first visited the Bates Church 2 years ago and it was Trace's and Jeb's birthday and joy,John,Jed and jer was their and Joy has gotten much thinner since then

    7. Maybe because she's really busy with planning and getting things prepared, she's not finding the time she once had. I mean no disrespect, but sometimes, when we find ourselves really busy or with a hectic schedule, we (especially women) are prone to forgetting to eat. I'm sure once she settles in, she'll fall into a better routine.

    8. Forget to eat? I WISH I had that problem.

    9. I think the point here is that so far, Jinger and Joy have both lost weight after getting engaged. Until there was a man in the picture, weight didn't seem to matter. Suddenly it does? Because of a man? And you know pregnancy is probably going to reverse that pronto.

If you want to lose weight for yourself, fine. But if you feel you have to lose weight because you're getting or trying to keep a husband, that's another matter.

    10. Almost every woman that I know that has gotten married has lost weight during the engagement. It is a very busy time, so people don't always take the time to eat as much as they normally would. I don't know any woman that doesn't want to look her best on her wedding day, so I am sure that plays a factor in her weight loss as well. Joy certainly doesn't appear to be starving. She looks great!

    11. the real question is, does Austin feel like he has to get toned and muscle up because he's getting married? Probably not, because there's no stigma for him, only the women.

  2. I have a question (and not to be rude just asking). Why do y'all always include the surnames? Joy-Anna Duggar, Josie Duggar, Josiah Duggar, etc.

    1. Great question. Since there are so many Duggars (and most of them with common first names), tacking on their last name helps the search engines find the post. :)

  5. Joy's hair is so long but it looks so smooth . What does she do?

    1. The girls spend hours on their hair, both straightening it and curling it. Plus they visit salons for hair care and mani-pedi's. We've seen it on the show since the get-go. Remember when Jinger was worried about her hair and Ben was telling her they had to leave or they'd miss their flight? And someone (also Jinger? Jill?) was told that they were taking "the best curling iron" when they were packing to move out? It's always been intensive hair care for these girls. Even though they are "modest" and not supposed to be drawing attention to their physical appearance.

    2. Hours? If so their days must be a lot longer than ours because they accomplish many other things besides grooming.

    3. I think they take that "hair is a crowning glory" verse and really run with it.

    4. Joy has naturally straight hair, so I don't think she has to straighten it that much. It does look healthy, though.

    5. Add it up. Hours. They used to do home perms, remember? And they blow dry, and they blow out, and they straighten, and they curl......

    6. I'd like to see them all try shorter haircuts, starting with Michelle.

  8. Love the little guys!! Will keep saying it till TLC listens.....we want the little kids and all the Duggars featured on the show!

    1. How do you know if the Duggars even want all the "little guys" and everyone back on the show? Perhaps it's been their decision to keep them away from the TV cameras. If so, I have a bit more respect for them.

    2. The Duggar family should not exist to entertain people by exposing their whole lives on TV. Haven't they already exposed enough??

      Delete
    3. Anon @ 4:01 Totally agree with you. The Duggars have exposed so much of their lives and their fame has turned to infamy, due to recent scandals. I don't think young children should be living their lives out on TV, their deserve privacy until they reach an age when they can understand the implications being of being on a TV show and be prepared for the loss of privacy. Someday in the not to distant future the younger children are going to be able to read all the things relating to their family on social media, and they may regret that their family ever let cameras into their lives.

  9. Why do the kids look like they are in school uniforms? Aren't they home schooling?

  10. I know that most brides lose weight before their wedding, wanting to 'look good' in the pictures, but this family says they're not about outward appearances. All of the Duggar brides have gone on starvation diets when COURTING. Why is this necessary? None of them needed to lose weight in the first place, Joy included?

    1. How rude! Planning a wedding with 18 other siblings, new inlaws and getting a easy to leave home is incredibly stressful no matter how saved you are, not to mention loads of haters commenting on EVERY. SINGLE. THING. Small wonder she's losing weight!!!

    2. Jealousy can drive us to say things that aren't really true. If it's not that then what is it??

      Delete
    3. 7:45 Unless you were present at every meal with this family and witnessed when they stepped on the scale, you would hardly know if any of them were ever on "starvation" diets. I think you are overreaching here by quite a stretch.

    4. We aren't related to their lives and can only speculate "why" and "if".
Let's be kind to each other and not make speculations on others guesses please.

  11. Ellie can we have an update on both joy-anna and joseph and their significant others please?

  12. How is Anonymous' comment 5/2 @7:45 considered insulting or a 'hate' comment? This poster states that none of the Duggar brides needed to lose weight before the wedding because they all looked good, weight-wise. Why is that an insult? It's not. It's actually a compliment to the older Duggar girls.

  13. I have a question, Why does the header have a space for Jill's second baby and there isn't one for anna and Josh who are having a boy this year as well. Seems they are truly being ignored since the incident of josh's. There's never pictures or updates of josh and Anna! I thought being Christian was to forgive seems to me they are always on the back burner. Time for josh to be forgiven. We all make mistakes

    1. Hi there,

Headers take many hours to make. Our faithful web designer made one recently, and she is currently working on one for our Bates blog. That's the only reason that Josh and Anna's 5th child doesn't have a space yet. :)

  14. Heh, it seems all of the Duggar girls go on pre-wedding diet. It does seem to work, though. In my opinion, Joy looks amazing - but I really hope she doesn't put her health at risk by starvation or/and extreme exercise.

If she lost weight the healthy way, by changing her eating choices and exercising, I keep my fingers crossed (or give her thumbs-up).
Anyway, the girls seem to care less after tiding the knot - especially after giving birth they loosen up their dieting and fitness (or so I thought about Jill and Jessa).

I don't want to offend anyone, just my thoughts.

Anyway, kids grew up so much. And Johanna is so tall

    1. I'm worried (and others are, too) that Joy is feeling pressured to lose weight, either from family, from teachings, from a man, or from some other idea or expectation she came up with on her own. Nobody should lose weight because of someone else or because of some unrealistic expectation they put on themselves for any reason.

    2. Anon May 3, 11:33 am, How about like many brides to be Joy wants to look her best on her wedding day? Simple, usual and what brides all over the world do. Keep these ridiculous assumptions to yourself. I don't feel that changing what they are doing for their life based on anonymous comments not made to be encouraging and positive but to put down this family anyway they can will or should happen. Eileen

    3. Anon @ 11:33 A lot of brides to be do try to loose a little weight before their wedding but these girls have the added pressure of having a huge wedding and having it filmed for TV, then scrutanized by everyone. Perhaps for once one of them should insist on a smaller wedding and to keep it private, just release a few pictures later. Joy out of all the sisters always seemed to be happy in her own skin, I hope this doesn't give her issues with food which could last the rest of her life.

    4. I don't think the weight loss can be attributed to anything but being in love. Hard to eat with butterflies in your stomach and you're floating on air. Ahhh love......

  16. Such lovely photos of the younger Duggars and also Josiah and Joy. They all look happy and healthy. Such a busy family. I love their closeness and support of each other. It is amazing to me that the Duggar family continues to share their lives through photos and Counting On in light of all the very negative, ridiculous, assumptions and comments made by people who state they are guessing and I feel and I guess to preface very shocking outrageous statements I would hope they would never say to anyone face to face. Just shocking to me. I am not a fundentalist Christian and I do not follow many aspects of the Duggar family life in my own life, I just cannot imagine who the people are who sit behind their keyboards and make the statements that I read here and other Facebook pages about this family. They have never said they are perfect, and they live what they believe , and I for one respect that. Eileen
