  1. How can this be viewed online?

  2. Who gave Brandon to be married, and was that part of the ceremony also? As a grown, consenting adult, why does Michael need to be "given" to Brandon by her family?

    1. That's a traditional thing to do at wedding. Because she is leaving her family and becoming Brandon's wife.

    2. It is (was custom) to ask the father for permission. I am 57 and when before I we'd my husband had to ask for permission to marry me.

    3. Its a wedding tradition for the father to "give away" his daughter to the groom. Some times the wedding officiant will ask, "who gives this woman to this man?" and that was Gil's reply.
I've seen that question be asked at lots of weddings, christian and non-christian. It's just one of the many wedding traditions that symbolize the bride leaving her family and joining her husband's.

    4. Traditionally the bride is always given away. I've seen it in every wedding I've ever been to except for maybe a courthouse wedding.

    5. Obviously they are not literally giving her away. It's just a tradition. Relax.

  3. Their wedding color scheme is one of the prettiest I've ever seen.

  4. Poor Jana. Hopefully God has a plan for her so she's not always a bridesmaid. Good luck!

    1. God does have a plan for her, and that may or may not include marriage. How is she "poor"? What's wrong with being single? God didnt create us to just get married.

    2. Maybe she's meant to always be a bridesmaid. There is nothing wrong with that!!

    3. If Jana was from a different family, she'd be having a blast at her age. Living with roommates, traveling with friends, going to college, maybe studying abroad, working and earning her own money, and going on dates. I don't pity her marital status; I pity that she's not allowed to live her own life.

    4. You must not watch the show alot or you would know that Jana is a Doulu and assists in home births. She's also a volunteer firefighter and old enough to do whatever she wants. I don't blame her for staying home until she marries or gets older. They're not keeping her locked up.

    5. She's only 26. She still has plenty of good years left! Its not like shes an old maid.

    6. Isn't that the truth?!!!

    7. Obviously living with roommates, traveling with friends, going to college, studying abroad, and having dates isn't what God wants her to do with her life, or she'd be doing it.

    8. How do you know she'said not "having a blast"? Just because she'said not doing what you might want to do, doesn't mean she is not perfectly happy with her life.

    6. I must say that the "conservative" wedding gowns are prettier than the ones I've see that are strapless and practically falling off the brides. Been to some weddings lately where the brides kept having to hike up the tops of their dresses for fear of them falling. Part of that is probably bad altering, but part is bad design. I do prefer a dress with a little sleeve of some sort and a decent neckline, so the bride is comfortable when moving & hugging. Have also seen some dresses that were skin-tight from the waist down and not the most flattering. A-lines and Princess gowns are nice, and seem to be what the Duggar and Bates brides are choosing.

  6. I can't wait!!!! I was pretty sure we'd see Jana. I'll be looking for other Duggars too!

    1. You can see the Seewalds and Dillards lingering around in the back of the church during the rehearsal, including Derick's brother. I found it strange that as neither family nor part of the bridal party they would be there. It's like they think everything is about them

      Delete
    2. Wouldn't you be there if you were invited? Obviously they were invited to be there.

      Delete
    3. I'm pretty sure they were invited. I don't think they crashed the party. They are longtime friends.

      Delete
    4. Seriously, that was uncalled for. It's well-known that the Duggars are close friends of the Bates, and I'm sure they didn't just show up uninvited. The Bates invited who they wanted, and I don't see how anyone can skew this as selfishness on the part of the Duggar family! I'm sure the kids had a blast seeing their friends and having a chance to spend extra time with them. I know I do!

  7. It amazes me how beautiful all these girls are. I am so ugly. I wish God had spread it around a little. LOL

    1. i am quite sure that you possess beauty.try seeing yourself in a different way. here's a big hug just for you.

      Delete
    2. I'm sure you're not!! :)

      Delete
    3. I don't know you but I'm sure you are not ugly. Please don't. Think of yourself that way. God made each of us differently. If we were all made the same way life would be boring.

      Delete
    4. You know, I was feeling really gross one night, hating myself because I've gained so much weight and just feeling disgusted with myself, and I heard the spirit of God whisper in my ear "despise not the body I gave you", and the truth of that shook me. I know He means that for you too.

    5. Our society has dictated that the standard for feminine beauty is around 16-23 years old. That's why you are finding the girls so pretty. Also they are on TV and spend a lot of care and time into their appearance. Remember how the Duggars looked when they were first on tv? They dropped that look fast. Those girls are spending many hours a week on their hair and makeup.

    6. I'm going to keep it real. I myself am not winning any beauty contests like ever. With that being said I am married, someone found me attractive. I'm probably not attractive to anybody else. Beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder. My husband truly loves me, married almost 18 years now, and I love him. Take a look around, people that others might not find instantly attractive get married all the time. There is hope! There are many guys that are really looking for someone with a kind heart; those are the guys whose parents told them to look for someone with a good heart.

    7. Let me add that one can look beautiful on the outside but have a horrible ugly spirit on the inside. I'd rather be the way I am now not so pretty on the outside but quite nice on the inside. Keep being the awesome you are!

  8. Is it true about Jana getting her own show

  10. Jana is waiting for the right one. She could have her pick. Jana is beautiful. She doesn't need to rush has plenty of time.

    1. Yep! No need to rush! Single or married, I wish the best for her!

  11. I would love to know where she got the bridesmaids dresses they are beautiful it's so hard to get modest gowns. A friend of mine is getting married and is finding it so hard!!

  12. I'd like to encourage Jana and 'All the single ladies' by saying that I'm 40 years of age and have never been married. I would love to be a wife and I'm happy serving God as He leads. It has taken me this long to feel content. I'm enjoying my christian life - it's going in leaps and bounds. Please be encouraged. :-)

  13. To the girl who claims she is ugly--I sure you are not. Don't put yourself down like that. Even on this blog there is way too much emphasis on beauty and too many people commenting on the "beauty" of the Duggar girls. God has made each one of us unique and special. It is really the beauty on the inside that counts.

  15. Lily and Eli I've heard many many rumors that TLC is bringing the Duggars back!!! Multiple sighting if the film crew with the family. Is this really true?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Honestly I'm kind of glad TLC waited awhile to put the Duggars back on air. I think there is a plan and that what came out at first that ended up getting the show cancelled happened when it was meant to. Now they have some space to work things out not having to deal with it so publicly and I think if "19 kids" returns it will be more on their terms. They'll comeback if/when they are ready!! And they have fans with or without a show!!

  18. Jana is beautiful and I wonder if she is carrying her parent's load at home, because of the things she has seen going on sometimes and some she helped them through. I think her siblings are her greatest joy in life she loves them so much as their oldest sister.

  19. Love the Bates! Though same basic beliefs as Duggars, they seem more carefree & real. Gil & Kelly Jo are more on equal footing as parents & spouses. Children are lovely!

  20. Look, just because Jill and Jessa got married before Jana, it doesn't mean that Jana will never get married. It's a possibility that Jana may get married later in her life, just not right now. Yes, she received courtship offers, but she turned them down because she's picky. Maybe she turned down the offers cuz the possibility husband wants to be famous.

  21. Jana is a great young lady. I hope she can fullfill all her wishes, whether it is to pursue a professional career, be a housewife, etc. I also hope that she can do with her life what she wants to and what makes her TRULY happy.

  22. Both of these families have raised such wonderful Godly daughters, I wish I had a way to contact the fathers and talk with them about courting. I've been praying for a long time about being patient in finding the woman God made for me. At twenty-six its hard to be patient for anything, let alone the exciting things God has planned for us.
