  6. How does your experience as a mom relate to the experience growing up you and Josh had in terms of falling short, meeting or exceeding the expectations for parenthood and family life that put on you? For example are you living the spiritual life as well as your and Josh's parents did? Or are you in harmony with your partner as well as your parents were? Or do you eat as well as you did back then? Or are you feeling as well educated as you were as children? Are your children as disciplined and obedient as you were as kids and so on? In general do you think you are managing as well with everything as your parents did or are you barely holding it all together?
(What about finances? Who could meet or beat that whiz Jim Bob?)

  7. What make you changed your mind about wearing skirts above the knee? And what does josh think about that (You use to say that you wear your skirts below the knee for modesty and i remember you wear long skirts before all the time)

  9. I really enjoyed the two shows on the trip to visit your sister. Do you plan to keep on with the show? I hope you know you did just as well or better on this show as the rest of the Duggars do on the 19 Kids and Counting show. I enjoyed it as much or more, it was like watching the Flintstones in real life, Fred and Wilma and Barney and Betty and family...so cute.

  10. I'd love to know what time she gets up in the morning and what time she goes to sleep at night. She seems to never rest! :) I have a 2 year old, 10 month old and am pregnant with our 3rd baby. I feel exhausted all the time and try to rest as often as possible. I don't know how she keeps her house so clean and always looks so amazing!

  15. Would you ever allow your children to be friends with someone who was a nice person but did not share your beliefs, and how would you handle that as a parent? I have this dilemma with my daughter and would love guidance. She made friends with a very nice girl from a sweet family, but they are not religious. Should I let them play together?

  19. Hi!
I would like to ask Anna how she handles the kids when they don't listen and when they are disobedient over and over again. Or maybe she doesn't have that problem. My oldest daughter 4,5 years old is driving both me and my husband crazy pretty often. She doesn't listen or care about what we say. She has been like that ever since she was a baby! For awhile I thought that we had failed as parents even though we tried to do everything right. But know we see that our younger daughter 2 years old behave much better, she listens and she stops if we say no. But our oldest daughter almost never stops when we say no. It would be very helpful to get some advice from Anna, because I think she does an amazing job with her kids!!

  22. Hello,
Thank you for your blog. Anna is a great role model.
I'm a mother of two and here are a few questions.
How often does she take her children to social activities that involve other children? If so what types of activities does she take them to?
How does she manage making dinner every night with the children?
What are some activities she does with Michael?
How does she control the toy situation in the home?

    ReplyDelete
  23. How does she stay fit and trim?
What are her five top beauty products?
How does she do her grocery shopping? Does she go each week and plan out her meals?
What items does she always carry in her purse and diaper bag.
How does she manage all the laundry? And getting everything put away.

  25. Can you give us suggestions on how you keep your little kids busy (esp. since you don't allow them to watch TV)? I love spending time with me kids, but sometimes I'd like them to play by themselves so I can get housework done/ take a shower. Also, how do you handle it if they fight over toys. Thanks, Laura

Thank you for any advice.

  35. I would be interested in knowing how it was for Anna to marry into a family that was so involved with the media. Was it hard to adjust to the thought of camera crews around, filming every moment of her life, whether it be just taking care of her children, or going grocery shopping?
Thank you for giving us this chance to ask questions! -Kaitlin Weaver

  36. How do you get your kids to sleep when you are traveling? The hardest part about traveling for me is all of us sleeping in one room! (my kids are 1 and 3)

  37. Mackynzie is a clever, outspoken little girl. All of your children are cute, but the first born is a natural leader. Don't you (I'm sorry if it sounds rude, it is not my atempt) think it would be fair to give the kids a chance to go to real school? If not right now, then probably college? Also, it is great that you love them so much and spend so much time with them. I really admire your patience. I'd go crazy, I think - yet, you are a great mother. But, aside from kids - what are your dreams and plans and hopes? Don't you miss your job?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Anna I have been watching you for years. You are a great example of new mother trying to be a good wife. I am a mom of two tots hoping for number three soon and am planning to home school and work part time. But I some times I feel I don't find enough time to get all the school hours in. What works for you and what programs do you like the most?

    ReplyDelete

  42. I really respect your way of life-will you ever hire a nanny, or will your older children help with the care of the younger ones-like you in-laws? How do you find time to shop for clothing etc? I notices the Duggars usually color coordinate their outfits>

  43. Hello! I would ask Anna has it been hard to live in the spotlight and what is her advice to ladies who are in a similar position (for example pastor's wives, or ladies whose husband have a leadership position) By the way, I love your blog!

    ReplyDelete
  45. I know the Duggar family doesn't believe in birth control, but do you believe in Natural Family Planning? Not all families - even with buying used and saving the difference - can afford 19 children. Is NFP an acceptable method, or do you leave it totally to chance?

  55. Hello Anna, i love the show and watch how your families are raising well mannered and Godly children. My husband and I tried for 7 years to start a family. We lost our first pregnancy with triplets at 21 weeks 6 days due to preterm labor. They were too tiny to incubate. After that loss we held onto each other and our faith and this past June our gift arrived. Twin girls Emmalyn Joy and Abygail Faith, we are in heaven. My question is how do you handle multiple children crying. Sometimes I try so hard to be patient but sometimes it is so hard. Any advice for a new mom.
    God Bless your family!

  71. Thanks for the opportunity! First, I'd want to tell Anna that she is super encouraging to me as a new mom. I really would love to just sit in her living room and learn from her for a day! Having said that, here's my question: how do you keep your cool when you're having a heated moment in the home. (Maybe the kids are fighting, the baby's crying, or dinner is ruined.) How do you stay warm wearing skirts in the winter?
I really want to wear skirts, but I get so cold in the winter that it feels better to wear jeans. Also when I clean the bathroom, I can't figure out how I wouldn't get all soaked cleaning the shower. You have such cute skirts, and I never see anything cute at the thrift stores. Is there a place online that you usually purchase the longer skirts? or do you sew.

  101. Hi Anna, I am a mom to four kids 6, 4.5, 2.5 & 9 months, and I love watching "19 kids" because of all I have learned about parenting through Michelle's example and now yours as well. I am very grateful for your family's openness in letting me be a fly on the wall and learn as you learn how to raise kids in a way that pleases God. It isn't an easy road that God has called you and your family to, but thank you for your obedience to Him. I know that I am a different mom than I would have been because of the benefit of watching your experience and example. Along those lines, my question would be: What has God revealing to your most recently in your parenting journey. Is there something you can share that he has used to encourage you or that you have found inspiring or helpful as you care for your little ones? Thank you again for being faithful, and know that you are being prayed for. Shauna (Alberta, Canada)

I have a lot of questions but here's my top few...first are your parents still doing prison ministry? Also for those of us trying to limit or eliminate screen time what are your favorite ways to keep little ones busy when you need to get things done? I have just 1 girl a 2 year old and I seem to be having a hard time balancing the day lately. (Please pray for me as a SAHM anybody reading this!)

  127. What prompted the makeover a few years back? I first started noticing Anna's hair was styled as opposed to the wet/air dried perm waves. Then her makeup seemed to get better, then the clothes. Way to show that young mom's can still be hip moms!

    ReplyDelete
  144. I DO have a question for Anna. It is an old one, though. Here it goes;
Since you clearly profess to not stress about having children and leave it up to God, IF AND WHEN that occurs, why were you so stressed when you first married and franticly tried and tried to conceive those first months and were clearly upset that it took a mere 4 months? You really came across to all of us out there in TV Land that you could think of nothing else but conception during your first 4 months of marriage. To me, that's a contradiction and we see it in the Duggar family over and over again. Please explain how this is so. GG in NC Thank you

  160. I have a 4 year old and while we haven't formally started homeschooling, we are trying to get her used to the idea that school will start soon. We do letter activities, and go to aquariums, watch educational TV shows ( 1 hour max per day). She uses ABCmouse.com, but I was wondering what you do to get your young children eager to learn? We did do a preschool that was a parent co-op, but that didn't go well at all, and now I thinks he may be shying away from wanting to do school at home.
