New Photos of Jinger's Dress

Jinger Duggar (about to be come Jinger Vuolo) and designer Renee Miller

Yesterday we shared the first page of an upcoming magazine article written by Renee Miller, the gal who custom designed Jinger Duggar's wedding gown and bridesmaids dresses. She and Jinger are pictured above in a snapshot taken just before Jinger walked down the aisle to marry Jeremy Vuolo. The photo below was taken outside the church, also before the ceremony.

We have been in touch with Renee of Renee's Bridal and Special Occasions of Pensacola, Florida, and she has graciously agreed to answer your questions about the dresses she designed for the Duggar/Vuolo wedding, her experience working with the Duggars, and her business. Post your questions in the comments section, and we will share them with Renee and report back to you.

For more about Renee's work, visit her website, and follow her on Facebook and Instagram (@renees_bridal).

  2. Renee, what a beautiful dress! What would a custom gown like this cost, ballpark?

  3. I don't really have a question, but the dress is stunning. I love the bodice and sleeves. Jinger is gorgeous in the dress!

    1. Some of us are really excited for any and all details. If you don't want to read about the wedding, just skip the blogs that are about it.

    2. Is it really hurting you?...are u really that upset about something so innocent as a dress post?...Just don't venture here if it bothers you so...easy peasy.

    3. Why?????? I say keep bringing on these gorgeous pictures of this glorious day when two people who love the Lord vowed to spend their lives together in service to Him.
Ginger ....you look absolutely magnificent! God bless!

    4. Obviously not. If you don't like a particular post then skip over it and don't read it. Alot of people want to ask questions about the dress. Thank you Lilly and Elly for the post! It was a beautiful gown. I can see why many people want more information about Renee and her dresses.

    5. Oh no! I want to talk about Jinger and her beautiful wedding dress. So many girls now look like they should be walking the street instead of getting married. A young woman dressed like Jinger deserves the time and attention. GO modesty!! She is 100x more beautiful in this dress than those in the skin exposing, tacky dresses.

    6. I think it's pretty cool to have the opportunity to ask the dress designer questions. Thanks!

  5. How were the bridesmaid dress colors chosen?

    ReplyDelete
  6. How long did it take to make the dress?

    ReplyDelete
  7. How hard was it to make the dress Jinger wore on her wedding day?

    ReplyDelete
  8. Was Jinger's gown hand made? And, how did she decide the length of the train? Her gown was absolutely georgeous! Pretty enough for royalty if you ask me!

  9. Thanks, Renee! My questions are: (1) How did the Duggars find out about you? (2) How long did it take to make all of the dresses? (3) What process did you & Jinger go through to design the dress? And if this isn't too many questions, I'm also curious how your business started out of a trunk! :)

  10. It was a very elaborate dress and Jinger is such a perfect beauty inside and out that it was altogether just amazing!
    For a glorious blessed day!

  11. My question is: How did the ladies come up with the idea of different colors for the bridesmaids? It's a wonderful idea and the ladies all looked beautiful in the color dress they wore. I hope they get to wear them again for another formal event.

  12. Did jinger know exactly how she wanted to look or did you help her envision the completed dress

    ReplyDelete

    1. This is my question also. Wondering if she came in with ideas of exactly what she wanted or if the vision for the dress evolved over time.

  13. What alterations were done to the dress?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. This dress was custom designed for Jinger and therefore would not have been "altered"; alterations are done to ready-made dresses to make them fit properly.

      Delete
    2. Even a custom dress needs a final fitting, though.

  14. I want to know how much a dress like this costs. And I want to know if TLC paid for it, or if the price was reduced because it was going to be shown on TV. Be up front with these readers. We have had to look at this dress over and over, so we should be given some truthful details now.

    1. Frankly I'm not interested in whether TLC paid for the dress. I don't think anyone needs to be "up front" with the readers. If it's that important to you, call TLC directly and ask. It really is not any of our business but I promise our tax dollars didn't pay for the dress and our bank accounts were not hijacked to pay for the dress either.

      Delete
    2. Why the suspicious, accusing tone? Suppose TLC did pay for the dress or Renee did give them a discount? Why is this something that needs to be revealed? The dress was beautiful and suited Jinger perfectly. This is really all we need to know.

      Delete
    3. This just sounds really demanding to me. It sounds like you think you are owed this information. Please correct me if I am wrong about that.

      Delete
    4. Yes - be up front with this. No reason to hide it. It's a sales-based business, so talk about prices.

      Delete
    5. A custom dress is normally VERY expensive. Celebrities often ask for a free dress due to the publicity, however the maker may choose to decline because of the number of such requests. At least that is how my friend's mom runs her couture bridal business in Nashville. She does not do free dresses. I'm interested in how Rachel approached this situation and if it was discounted.

      Delete
    6. Excuse me, I wrote Renee's name as Rachel! I apologize. ☺

      Delete
    7. "We have had to look..." How can you say that you're being forced to look at Jinger's dress, and then go on to say that you deserve some "truthful" details? Do you see the irony here? If you want a truthful detail, here's one: every time you visit this blog, it's a personal choice.

Why does it matter so much to you whether the designer gave her a discounted price in exchange for publicity, or whether TLC paid for the dress? Do you follow people around at the grocery store and ask whether they're using food stamps? Do you ask college students how much the taxpayers are contributing to their school bill? If the designer gave her a discount, she undoubtedly made enough profit that she felt it was well worth it. If TLC considered it part of their production costs, they also believed it was money well spent. As long as you didn't help pay for the dress, I don't see why it would be your concern.

    8. LisaG. - Why does it matter to you if someone asks questions about the cost of the wedding dress? This is a blog and people have every right to express their thoughts, ideas, questions and opinions.

It's not about the lady asking about the cost, it's about her demanding, commanding, and attitude.

    1. Smart living leads to rich rewards. Are you jealous?

      Delete
    2. No, I'm not jealous (the proper word is envious, by the way), just making an observation. A better question is, why direct your unkindness towards me?

      Delete
  17. Jingers smile almost always appears fake. It doesn't seem
to reach her eyes. Just an honest observation.

    1. My thoughts too. I pray Jinger doesn't become snooty because of Jeremy's "star status". I've noticed that at times Jinger and Jeremy both seem a bit unapproachable. Jinger was always so quircky and funny before (I.e. Facial expressions,).

      Delete
    2. I noticed this about the wedding pictures but then thought about it. Wedding day pictures are smile, smile, smile. Maybe she was just ready to move on with it. And also, it might just be her personality, not really being great at smiling on demand. What do you think?

      Delete
    3. I noticed that as well. The smile seems to be "put on".

      Delete
    4. Not everyone is a confident smiler. It may come natural to some but not so with a lot of ppl. Don't believe me? Go to the mall and smile at a bunch of ppl. You will see how many don't really know how to smile, don't smile, fake smile, and smile naturally. It doesn't mean they have something wrong with them if their smile "doesn't seem
      to reach her eyes".

    5. I think after so much smiling, a person's face starts to to hurt after awhile. That's probably what happened with Jinger.

      Delete
    6. I know that my later wedding pic smiles felt very forced. My mouth hurt from smiling!

  18. My question is how did the Duggar's find out about Renee? Pensacola is pretty far from where they live- sorta... lol

  19. Were the pearls cultured or faux? How much did the 5,000 weigh? What was the total weight of the dress, train and veil? Thanks

  20. I just wanted to say that Jinger's gown was absolutely beautiful! It was devine. Jinger's gown was the most gorgeous gown I've ever seen since Princess Diana's gown!

  24. How much does a dress like this cost?

  25. Although Jinger's dress was beautiful, it didn't fit the venue for the service and certainly didn't fit the style of the reception. The train, although delicate and beautiful, was a pain to have to handle. Was it detachable? Did the squirrels and birdies sew this dress for her? Come on, now, ladies, please move on.

    ReplyDelete
  26. My question is why did you decide on 13 feet for the train?? Also I want to complement you on the dress. It was absolutely gorgeous!!!!

  30. I thought the dress was most impressive in the fit of the bodice and undergarments make or break your formalwear and she must have had Jinger head to toe textbook because she looked great. It was a classic church wedding and the dress fit the venue.

The real royals wear conservative wedding dresses aka Kate Middleton because the Queen is the head of the Church of England. Never much surprise there.
    But,
Have any of you seen Nicky Hiltons wedding dress? She got married a few years ago in England in a palace and I was shocked what her wedding dress locked like. Google it. It was lace up to her jawline like a turtleneck and sleeves past her wrist. Absolutely the most conservative wedding dress I have ever seen a celebrity wear and I actually admired her for going old school classic instead of bridal sexy/trendy. And this woman is considered a modern day fashion plate
