Photos from El Salvador

The Duggars' annual Christmas mission trip to El Salvador has ended, but their hope is that the impacts they made on the people they encountered will be eternal. Here are a few photos from their journey:

  2. It's nice to get an update on the mission field, but I'd think it'd be better to show them working on the field other than taking snapshots of them.
    Just my opinion.

  5. Sooooooooooo excited for Jill and Derek to have baby boy, in March!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Does Jill and Derek have any boy names picked out? Are they going to stick with a letter theme? I know a family with 6 kids, and all their names starting with the letter M, including their Dad!!!!!!!!!!!! Love you guy:)

  6. Love this year's photos. But did the cameras follow them this time like they mostly always do? May I ask why Jill and Derick chose to go to El Salvador this even though Jill's almost 30 or more weeks pregnant, which should be a time for preparations and rest?

  7. Oh, Jill is getting so big! I wonder how she feels about child birth being a midwife and knowing how much women suffer. Based on how she looks, she is going to have a very big baby.
I'm also curious why Jessa&Ben did not go.

  8. The one in the purple shirt (in between the one in the aqua shirt and the one in the purple stripped shirt) in the pic where Michelle Duggar and them are praying is Jessica Seewald, Ben's sister.

  15. I think the Duggars have so much to offer people, that has eluded many who try to be Christian. Somehow the Duggars have comprehended and put into action some very key points of the Christian life. For example not having intimate relations before or outside of marriage. Another would be their debt free living. Another would be their deep and reverent acceptance and celebration of every life. Another would be their co-operation in doing the daily chores, working and simple daily acts of service in and around the family or in the community, and in the political arena too. Another would be music performed by everyone and singing songs of praise. Another would be recognizing and using people's giftings as contributions to life. And so on and so on...there are just so many points of Christian that the Duggars activate and they know some of the most essential ones to prioritize. Also they spread sincere enthusiasm for the new life in Christ that comes after hearing the gospel message and accepting Jesus as one's saviour. I am saying all of this because I think a visit from the Duggars is a wonderful thing for the people in the communities they went on a missions trip to. Like the Bible says a people who sat in darkness have seen a great light. Can you imagine sitting in darkness and not having this light? The Duggars are a filled with the light and it has made their lives shine like a city on a hill. People, even people who have heard the Christian message can really be transformed from an encounter with this family. I think one reason is that when Satan sees a soul accept Christ he comes along an tries to snatch the seed that is sown...so the people can feel that they are not really in a new life after all. When Christian people come to encourage others they learn that there is real substance to Christianity and that they should keep up the Christian walk and continue to grow in Christ, that there is a real life there for everyone. I don't think the Duggars need to show up and build a clinic to have this effect on people, some people criticize them and say why did they not build a clinic or something while they were there? It is more about the soul and the mind, the renewed mind in the Word of God and the encouraged spirit that grows in faith.

    Hi Anonymous 4,

As of now, TLC does not plan to air the premiere of the next season of "19 Kids and Counting" on December 29th. The currently plan is for the show to return in early 2015. More details to come.

    Blessings,
    Lily and Ellie

    Hi Anonymous 5,

Jill and Derick have chosen names they like but have not announced any. They do not plan to stick to one letter, but they are considering choosing another theme, such as family names.

    Blessings,
    Lily and Ellie

  18. Anonymous 18, your comments are fine, but El Salvador is already predominantly a Christian nation. They need to go to a pagan one and evangelize....catholic countries do not need to be converted. converted to what?

  19. It looks like SOS ministries has sponsored this trip. Do they require insurance for the participants to make this trip? If so,, how could Jill have been approved, if no insurance is required, do they travel at their own risk and liability? Why don't they require the female participants to dress properly for the area and the work they will be doing such as no flowing skirts, long unrestrained hair and proper footwear? Anything can bite them on the feet and/or travel up their skirts. Seriously, I am asking an important question here.

  20. Jill is so pregnant! Another 3 months and she will have the baby! And last year at this time, she was not even engaged, she life is changing so fast!

  21. Tis looks like a great trip, where the Duggars selflessly served others who are in need. The organization, though, should insist on participants wearing proper footwear, specifically sneakers. Also, this might not have been very safe trip for Jill, as the transportation likely lacked seatbelts, the roads are very bumpy, the food and water might not be clean, there were bug or tic bites, which is especially dangerous for pregnant women. It might all have turned out fine, but that means she was lucky, not that it was safe. I specifically remember that Michelle Duggar did some extensive traveling before her miscarriage of Jubilee, maybe it's best to better safe than sorry to be more careful!

  22. You are an amazing family! Even though you have many attacks on you right now, please do not give up! People need to see a good, Godly family in America. Our society has become awful and shifted against God. Strengthen yourselves!! We are with you and support you!!! We need you to continue your show! Love you all!!
