Forsyths Visit the Vuolos

The Forsyths were recently able to squeeze in a cross-country trip, as they anticipate the arrival of their their third child, a son, in May. Joy, Austin, Gideon, and Evelyn headed out west to Los Angeles to visit the Vuolos. The Forsyths documented the trip in a video that is now live on their YouTube channel.

  1. I'm glad Joy got to visit with her older sister Jinger. Hope more Duggar siblings visit Jinger and Jeremy and their girls soon in California and put those rumors that the siblings don't speak to Jinger on account she has changed and wrote a book speaking out against their upbringing and Bill Gothard and the IBLP. I'm glad she still is in close contact with Jana,Jill,Jessa and Joy.

    1. California is NOT a place to visit or raise children... homelessness, drugs, etc.. are much more prevalent

    2. Much of California has been dumped on with snow.. Newsome was nowhere to be found.. doesn't sound like the Gov cares for his citizens

    3. Those things have always been prevalent no matter which area of the US you're in. Yet people still raise children there. You teach the children about it and you teach them to work to help it. You can't run away from it. Nothing ever improves if you scorn it and turn your back to it.

    4. 8:25 it's mostly in the southern area of California.

    5. @4:59 I don't know what anyone expects an elected official to do in natural disasters. They can't personally come and shovel everyone out or drain all the flooded house or repair tornado damage. It's up to us to be prepared (like Scouts!) to face whatever is coming, not sit back and whine that FEMA didn't bring supplies to our doors the next day. The National Guard was called out for California. Helicopters were mobilized. What more do you expect? I'm sure the Governor's office was involved. I'm sure Newsome was distressed, just like the rest of us. But elected officials are human, just like the rest of us too. They can't magically make disasters disappear. Be ready to help yourself next time. (There WILL be a next time.) Have supplies. Use your head. Don't try anything dangerous that taxes the emergency response system, like driving into floodwaters or heading out on a trip when snow is forecast. Care for your fellow citizen yourself. Stockpile extra supplies to share. Take responsibility instead of blaming government. On a Duggar note, where was Medic Corps and their helicopters BTW? They could have helped.

  2. Nobody look at Jinger's kids! She doesn't show them! Ignore it that they're right there in the video.

    1. Yeah, I don't believe her that she keeps her kids private.

    2. Jinger and Jeremy are the parents and will decide on when/how they show their kids.

      Delete
    3. @6:26 Jinger said she wasn't showing her kids, long ago, before she had her second one, when it was just Felicity. But she never stopped showing them, which is odd. She seems to think showing them from the back isn't showing them at all.

    4. A lot of parents do that 3:43, you can't fully recognize a child unless you are looking to see their reflection somewhere in the background.

      Delete
    5. @7:13 You don't need a reflection. You could still recognize them. It's not right.

      Delete
    6. 5:10 untrue. If you are able to recognize someone by the back of the head, you are analyzing way to close for comfort. There is a lot of people who look alike not just in facial features but hair and body mannerisms.

    7. 10:33 If you saw those backs of heads out in public with their parents, YOU'D KNOW.

    8. Lol much like Harry and Megan and their 'privacy tour'...

    9. 11:23 are you stalking them?

      Delete
    10. What a silly thing to ask. @3:09 I guess the Duggars are all stalking themselves because they post pictures of their own families and their brothers' and sisters' families.

    11. Jeremy posted a picture of the girls' legs and sneakers over the weekend. Why do you need to post a picture of legs and sneakers unless you want the attention your children bring and you're proud of the expensive sneakers you bought. How can this be best for those little girls? He's teaching them that superficial things like showing off flashy sneakers are important in life. Really don't expect this from someone studying ministry.

    12. Those pictures of kids' body parts (backs, legs, heads) are so stupid. If you don't want to show your kids to the world, just don't post any pics. It just causes rumors that kids are ill or have some condition.

    13. 8:21 people are always going on about their shoes, stop looking at their page. Do you get mad at everyone else that shows their new clothes and shoes?

  3. Good for them. Jinger can give them an autographed copy of her new book.

  4. Austin looks much better without the beard! IMHO

  5. Has Jinger stopped pushing her book?

    1. Jinger did what any other authors do and people come to her for the interviews. So is all these other authors push their books too? Wow.

      Delete
    2. No. That will never stop but there don't seem to be any more TV interviews going down.

      Delete
    3. No. She's still doing interviews.

  6. Thank you for keeping us up to date with their adventures and trips.

  7. So much for keeping your kids private and off the internet.

    1. She has the right to the control of that and she can make up her mind.

    2. I know. They keep changing the goalposts.

    3. Just roll with it. People often say one thing and do another.

      Delete
    4. I think you keep them off unless you need the clicks, then you only show them from the back because you don't want your kids online. It's very confusing.

      Delete
    5. It's ridiculous. They "don't post their children" yet we have seen them, we've seen their houses, we've seen their rooms, we've seen their toys, we've heard them... Keeping your kids out of the public eye means zero videos or posts about them, not these constant glimpses. Maybe Jinger & Jeremy don't realize what they're doing, but it's not the best or safest thing for the girls.

    6. I don't know maybe they changed their minds off and on. They are human ya'll.

  8. That's nice! Sister and cousin time.

    ReplyDelete
  9. That's surprising. I hope they keep the cousins away from each other. I don't think it's proper for cousins to be friends. There should be formality at family get togethers.

    2. Why isn’t it okay for cousins to be friends?!?! I grew up friends with mine. That doesn’t make any sense.

    3. I do hope you are being funny!

    4. Please explain further 8:28 because I'm sure everyone here would love to hear the reasoning behind such a statement. We'll be waiting.

      Delete
    5. Can you please answer why cousins shouldn't be friends? A lot of my friends was besties with their cousins. Unfortunately in my family, I had cousins but due to family drama, I never really met them.

    6. We have a comedienne throwing stuff out there to see if it sticks.

    7. When it comes to cousins, this is when you teach children social skills and manners. You don't play and act like the house is a jungle gym. It is very rude.

  10. That's nice. They can see Jinger's lovely new house.

  11. Nice visit for Jinger and Joy-Anna. Sounds like Joy-Anna would like to live in California!

  12. I can Joy-Anna releasing her own book one day. This is just my opinion. This visit here means Joy is siding with Jinger. What a bad example for Joy's children. I am surprised Austin would allow that. He needs to grow a backbone and take charge of his family as the head and anchor. I found that Jessa does this with Ben too. Back in my day as a young mom, we did things so much different. It's best to keep quiet, take care of the children and hubby. That's it.

    1. What’s wrong with supporting Jinger? Also, Joy is an adult. Austin doesn’t need to “allow” her to do anything. Finally, keeping quiet is the worst thing possible in many situations. Speaking up is necessary when you see a wrong happening.

      Delete
    2. How do you know that Austin doesn't agree with Joy? I don't think Joy runs all over Austin and I think they are supporting Jinger because they WANT to. Austin works hard and support his family. If they want to visit Jinger and her family they should be able to do so without being thought poorly of.

    3. 7:27- Sorry, this is no longer the Dark Ages where women were seen and not heard.

      Delete
    4. How,do,you know he is not okay with the release of her book?

      Delete
    5. 7:27, You must think women are ignorant and need a man telling them what to do and how to think. I'm a senior citizen and that kind of mentality leads to abuse and misogyny, exactly the problem with IBLP and similar groups..

      Delete
    6. You know Joy's children know nothing about a book or this trip being an example. They're just happy to be playing with cousins and they got to eat junk food at an airport. They're little kids. But thanks for the post - nice effort, nice try to spice up the discussion.

    7. This roaring misogyny is what led me to leave the church as a young woman. As soon as I understood it for what it was, it became clear the community was not for me. Ladies, you can have a family (and anything you like) while also functioning as a fully-formed adult. Reliance on another—yes, even a spouse—is dangerous, unwise, and extremely limiting.

      Delete
    8. Joy is 26 and an do whatever she wants, even write a book!

      Delete
    9. So true 3:56. I think it's the women with low self-esteem who hide behind their husbands and meekly assume the subservient roles. Then they self-soothe by saying being a wife and mother is the highest calling there is. No, you can be more too, without sacrificing anything. The ones who aren't brave and strong enough to try it or succeed are the ones who claim it can't be done. Maybe they are better off at home, but I feel sorry for how they have let themselves be limited. So much of our world is helped and improved by strong women! Doctors, nurses, scientists, teachers, lawyers, accountants, journalists, political leaders, you name it. All done by women and aren't we better off for it.

    10. I am fully convinced now that there is IBLP people on here.

    11. Joy’s not 26. She’s 27.

    12. @3:08 Or people posing as one, to get a rise out of the others.

    13. Actually, Joy is only 25.

    14. They traveled a week before Gideon's 5th birthday, so maybe they just wanted to celebrate his birthday this way. Or just get away from the cold Arkansas. And it's cheaper to stay with family, not at the hotel. Especially when several other siblings traveled to Europe at the same time, Duggar parents with other children traveled to Israel.

  13. That's nice. Seems like they're OK with Jinger's book.

    ReplyDelete
  14. So Joy and Austin have put their stamp of approval on Jinger's book. It seems they too have moved away from IBLP teachings. I'm not sure how this is playing with JB and Michelle though.

    1. I doubt they've moved away very far. Austin's parents are very much like the Duggars. Joy and Austin are on good terms with them.
