Another Baby on the Way

Jeremiah Duggar announced his relationship with long-time friend Hannah Wissmann in October 2021 and followed with news of their engagement in January. The two became Mr. and Mrs. Duggar on March 26th and will soon enter a new chapter of life: parenthood! Congratulations to the mother and father to be.

    1. 26, that we know of. John's is 25, plus Josiah and Joe haven't updated the public about their families in a long time, so who knows?

    2. I think it will the #26 but I could be wrong.

    3. Y'all are WRONG! This will be the 25th grandchild. Truett was #23 and Freddy #24. I looked at the Duggar birthday's and Madyson was #22 with her birth last October. Ladies, you need to update the grandkids birthday's and add the last 2 born this year to the list.

    3. It's not rude. "Popular" was in quotation marks. It's a fact that we see a lot from some of them and little to nothing from the others, so in a sense the more prominent ones are quote-popular-unquote, not actually popular.

      Delete
    4. What do you mean "popular" ones. Each couple chooses how much of their lives they do or do not want revealed. That's why not everything appears on the Facebook page. Some couples don't like how they get talked about on a public page.

    4. Never say never. I don't think some of the siblings who was victims should be punished for what their brother and parents did.

      Delete
    5. None of the siblings who WERE victims are being punished. They had their chance with Counting On. The shows are over, TLC has moved on, and so should the rest of us. It's not punishment to have a private life away from TV cameras. The kids are having more fun filming themselves now and airing that online. At least this time they're getting paid.

      Delete
    6. 3:33 PM - Untrue. There is people on this site who feels that they don't count as victims because they are Duggars.

      Delete
    7. If the Duggars were to come back to TV, only half of the family would do it imo .No Josiah and Lauren, Joe and Kendra, Joy and Austin or Jill and Derick. Jinger and Jeremy would be doubtful unless network agreed to blur kids faces. Fans would end up disappointed. The Duggars have moved on and acknowledged the TV show is done for good, think fans also need to realize the show likely won't ever return.

    2. @12:31 Do you realize how your statement would feel to anyone struggling with fertility issues? The last thing they'd need is someone pointing out that they weren't keeping up with the family pregnancy timeline.

      Delete
    3. Maybe they are waiting until Justin is not a teenager anymore.

      Delete
    4. It’s actually refreshing to have a couple enjoy their alone time and not rush into having babies.

      Delete
    5. Joseph, Josiah, Jed got married at 22, Jer now got married at 23. Justin got married at 18. He and Claire possibly are just waiting till Justin is a bit more established work wise.
Jim Bob married Michelle when he was 18, but they had their first child when he was 22.5.

      Delete
    6. They are both very young and yes who knows if they are struggling to get pregnant. My husband and I have been married for two years and after waiting for over a year we are having trouble trying to get pregnant. It’s very disheartening to have people around expect you to get pregnant right away, especially in the Christian community. Women shouldn’t be told it’s their duty to have babies and be expected to get pregnant right away. Happy for those who do if it’s their choice but sad for those who want to wait or can’t get pregnant.

      Delete
    7. It's the couples decision and bodies. Nobody can force them to rush or wait.

    1. Why be so bitter about it? You can't control what they do. It's their choice, I am surprised Jinger waited long as she did and Jill mentions now she uses birth control.

      Delete
  15. I will never understand why the Duggar family "doesn't believe" in birth control. Unless you can control yourself some other way, you're setting yourself up for a life of trying to provide for a big family, which not everyone can do successfully. The children are the ones who suffer if the parents can't provide properly. Sometimes your ability to provide is out of your control due to illness, injury, or death. I hope the Duggars all carry multi-million dollar life insurance policies, with all these dependents. Beyond that is the toll that birth after birth takes on a woman's body. Yes, you might have 15 kids, but you have a mom with a worn-out body, and what good is that? I watched a family member struggle with that after 8 kids in 16 years. The kids also needed braces but there was no money for that "extravagance." I don't get it. Are these big families supposed to make the parents feel special? Because the kids sure don't feel like that.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I agree. I come from a family of 15 kids. It was and still is tough for my parents. Even though many of these parents say it's biblical, I don't agree. My husband and I stopped at six. He came from a family of three kids so it was a good balance for us.

      Delete
    2. I'm confused. Did they announce she is pregnant with multiples? As this is their first pregnancy, I'm not sure how you came to that conclusion this couple will have a large family. Granted, their parents had several children, but that was their choice, not yours. Whatever Hannah and Jeremiah decide will also not be your choice.

      Delete
    3. It's Hannah and Jeremiah's first baby. Why would they use birth control?????

      Delete
    4. I guess they feel "Godly" producing all these children, like they're following some command. Seems more like they're trying to out-populate the rest of us for religious and political reasons, though.

      Delete
    5. In addition to financially affording a large family, not everyone has the patience and parenting skills to do a good job.

      Delete
    6. As a mother of 8 children in less than 16 years, this comment offends me greatly. How is it possible to paint countless large families with the same brush, simply because one family (in your opinion) was negatively affected, therefore that applies to all? What a generalization, and outright lie.

      Delete
    7. @9:32 I grew up before The Pill was available and in a Catholic area with scads of large families - including my own and my husband's and most of our friends. So I for one am qualified to make a comment on this subject. It was not an easy or fun childhood for any of us. It didn't matter if a family had money or not. There was no way two tired parents could meet every emotional and physical need of a large number of children, each in a different stage of development, in the hours given by their day. The older kids were left to find their own ways while the younger ones were seen to. Or the older kids had to be babysitters, whether they wanted to be or not. This happens over and over in big families. This happened in the Duggar household, as everyone knows. Those kids got what, a half hour with Mom as "special time" once a month? The rest of the time it was buddy groups? Isn't that what they reported? Nobody is lying, it's reality. If you've somehow managed to divide yourself into 10 equal parts (8 kids, husband, yourself) and nobody is being shorted, then congratulations. You must be exhausted.

      Delete
    8. I know only children whose parents regard braces an "extravagance". I also know two kids who hung out at our place because their parents claimed they were "providing" for their family. The kids loved that at our place we have only one vehicle, one TV, a lot of stuff was either thrift store, old but in good condition, nothing was the latest "brand name", "must have" item but there was a parent who was home and could spend time with them. It's not about family size, it's about attitude. Someone can have one to two children and not be willing to make the time to raise them. Someone can have a lot of children and be able to make the time to raise all of them. I speak respectfully about and to those who have large families because I believe we need to treat ALL parents with respect regardless of size.

    1. I admire them. There's so much outside pressure to have a certain amount of time between dating, engagement, marriage, then starting a family. Then there's how long you should wait between kids and how many you should have. I admire them for following their hearts and doing what they feel is right for themselves. When your following your own path and it feels right it's awesome to just run with it. So excited for these two! 🙂

    2. Yes, and it's obviously something the Duggar children are encouraged to do by their parents. It can't be a coincidence that every one of the children has done something similar. I wonder if you asked Anna what she would say about marrying in haste and immediately having children non-stop.

    3. 2:02 PM - How is that when they each of their courtship duration was different? Jessa I believe had the longest. And honestly 8-12 months is normal or at least where I am from. My parents dated for 8 months before getting engaged and they been married for 35 years. My grandparents dated for 6 months before getting engaged which was actually considered to long in their time lol. Everyone's life journeys are different. It's not our places to judge.
