    1. I hope there is NO spin off with JimBob and Michelle controlling any part of a show like that. Would LOVE a show with Jinger and Jeremy… Love that Jinger and Jeremy are putting their family and Christ 1st in their lives. You can see that he treats Jinger with love and respect and always praises her… Love this family.

    2. I'm sorry you're so upset over the cancellation of the show. I doubt there will be another Duggar related show to replace it. Perhaps you need to pray that you will find something else to enjoy.

    3. They can't make something happen if no one is willing to take them on, and I don't think anyone is going to do that. Josh sealed their fate with his terrible decisions. I hope you can find something else to watch that you enjoy just as much!

    4. The Duggars will come back because it's not the victims fault. They are taking a break from TV right now.

      Delete
    5. (8:48 AM) What Josh did (innocent until proven guilty) did not seal their fate. They chose to take a step back and could eventually come back to TV.

      Delete
    6. 8:25, Josh is innocent, in a court of law, until proven guilty. That’s quite different than actually being innocent. Many times people guilty of crimes don’t have to pay the price because a jury didn’t feel the evidence was strong enough to convict.

      Delete
    7. 5:32, what “victims” are you talking about? Are you implying they are somehow victims? Josh is a victim? Your response is puzzling at best.

      Delete
    8. I think you need to face the realization that they probably won't be back. Too much has come out about this family. The main thing is Josh. But, there are other things. Plus, I don't believe a lot of the adult children are interested in TV at this time. The ones who want To are doing YouTube. This family needs time to heal, to get some professional help, and time away from the public eye.

    9. I for one would not watch a Jinger and Jeremy show. Since moving to California, their egos have inflated. They are not the type of people I would want to influence my life about Christ. Yes, Jeremy is studying to be an advanced pastor. Yes, they follow Christ. Yes, they talk about Christ. A lot of people do. However, speaking of Him and saying you’re a follower is good and all, but actions are just as strong. All I have seen from them, more so Jeremy, is showing off. That attitude is just not my cup of tea coming from a “pastor” and his wife. We all can show off all the material things we have or buy, but there comes a time when you need to grow up. It’s just not a good look.

      Delete
    10. I really don't think so, 8:25. For a show to come back not once, but twice, after a third scandal, seems very unlikely.

      Delete
    11. @11:17 You said precisely what others are thinking too.

      Delete
    12. 8:45 - You are actually wrong about that. He is technically innocent until they present any actual evidence that it wasn't someone that sent him those photos through a attached email that wad sent by some disgusting person. Even innocent people get falsely convicted which is why I never do jury duty because its not my place to judge. People can be framed and I send a person in prison for life for something they didn't do. We have to realize our system is not perfect and filled with liars. And I hope you never have to deal with that when you grow up.

      Delete
    13. 4:14 It IS your place to judge, or at least to sit on a jury and try to come to a unanimous decision along with the other jurors. Our judicial system is based on having a jury of your peers. That was critical to our founding fathers - peers! If you send an innocent person to prison for life, there are going to be reviews and appeals from lawyers, so jurors do not have to fret that. They are charged with listening to evidence from both sides and then deciding. And since you brought it up...speaking of a system "filled with liars"... Lawyers are masters at manipulating truths to fit their clients' needs, done so skillfully that it comes out looking like a trial. Well, you get my drift. As far as an e-mail attachment, that is unlikely given the nature of how you access what was downloaded, and how it was on a partitioned side of the computer. But you'll hear about that later. We've only gotten glimpses of what evidence the prosecution has and what the defense has to say about it. Stay tuned.

      Delete
    14. 4:14, seeing as how I’m 65 I feel like I’m already grown up. I stand by my comment. He might be guilty & still not have to face the consequences because a jury of his peers didn’t feel there was enough evidence. All I’m saying is that doesn’t mean he isn’t guilty( he might be completely innocent) Only he & God know the answer to that.

      Delete
    15. (4:14) EXACTLY! People need to stop now!

      Delete
    16. 4:14 I’ve read the court documents. The feds have the evidence. BTW, if you never do jury duty, someone has to take your place. It’s ok for others to be put in a position of deciding someone’s guilt or innocence, but not you?

      Delete
    17. 4:14 - not serving on a jury because it isn’t your “place to judge,” is a cop-out. You sound fair-minded and to not serve only perpetuates the problem. If all reasonable people failed to served, juries would only consist of biased people. Don’t hide behind a self-imposed “restriction. Do the right thing.

      Delete
    18. @8:45. The authorities did not charge someone who innocently "clicked" on an email. Those people are not on the radar of the authorities; it is the people who frequent dark web websites and who are MAJOR down loaders of this material. The authorities take these charges VERY seriously. That is why they take there time investigating.

Your comment to @8:45 about growing up is not called for. Yes, there has been cases of innocent people being convicted. But Josh Duggar is NOT a poor black man with poor legal representation. He is white man, in a conservative State, with good legal representation.

NO ONE is framing Josh. Josh. The Duggars are NOT that important. I suggest that you do not assume that "posters" should "grow up" when a poster posts a true observation of the jury system. There has been people who are actually guilty but have "gotten" off because the evidence was weak. They had skilled lawyers. Instead, you should pray that Josh finally gets the help he needs to overcome his addiction.

      Delete
    19. 4:14 You never "do" jury duty? Do you realize that as a citizen of the US (if you are one), it's your obligation to report for jury duty and serve on a jury if chosen? It's how you uphold the Sixth Amendment and insure fair and impartial trials for everyone. You can't take advantage of some of the Bill of Rights and overlook your obligations for the other parts. Although if you say certain things when being interviewed during the voir dire portion of the trial (the picking of the jurors), the lawyers could dismiss you as being unsuitable or not impartial. But that is the only valid way to get out of actually sitting on a jury if you are called for jury duty, you have no physical excuse to keep you from reporting to the courthouse on your given day, and you are chosen to sit on a jury. It IS your place to do that. It's the foundation of our trial by jury system, the backbone of our legal system.

      Delete
    20. @4:14 Aren't you judging every time you vote? Aren't you deciding someone's outcome? Or do you not vote as well as not sit jury duty?

      Delete
    21. @8:48 Please remind Josh that God knows the truth and Josh himself does too. Maybe he wouldn't be running up such a legal bill for his father to pay if he would remember to tell the truth. He has had a problem in the past applying that concept.

      Delete
    22. The Duggar’s did not “choose” to take a “step back” from reality tv as someone on this post suggested. They were “officially dropped” by TLC after another Josh Duggar scandal. So it’s highly unlikely that another network would pick them up again as you suggest

      Delete
    23. Yep, see that's why I never like jury duty because it's not our place to judge at all and I am afraid I could send someone innocent to prison/death.

      Delete
    24. 10:37, if the feds have the evidence that are going to block that out. They are still investigating Josh. They can't give everything away until court time.

      Delete
    25. 1:20, no it was cancelled like their other show for the time being like they did with 19 kids and counting. They will come back in a new spinoff. They always do.

      Delete
    26. @9:11 Corrections. The Feds are not still investigating Josh. They did that before the business raid, then they amassed that evidence to present for the grand jury indictment and then the arrest. Also, they have to disclose things to the defense before court time. They've been going through the disclosure phase of the upcoming trial during spring and summer 2021.

      Delete
    27. A jury can't convict someone in a death sentence trial without a judge having the authority to overturn the verdict (commute it to life without parole) or an automatic appeal process starting. Possibly having to make that decision on a jury is no reason to say you'll never serve jury duty. Most cases aren't murder cases anyway. Plus most cases can be appealed if the defendant's lawyers want to do that.

      Delete
    28. The Duggars did not decide to step back or take a break. TLC dropped them and made a public statement of such. We could debate all day over what went wrong and why. Actually I think the dropping of the show taught a bigger lesson than the show itself ever did. This is what happens when everyone overlooks and misrepresents the truth, network and family. Powerful lesson.

      Delete
    29. 9:07 I don't know of anyone that particularly relishes the idea of jury duty, but how do you expect our judicial system to work without it? Someone has to determine guilty or innocence. It might not be a perfect system, but it's better that it's a jury of one's peers, rather than any alternative.

      Delete
    30. If you won’t even fulfill your jury duty responsibility, maybe you should sacrifice some of your other rights as well. That’s only fair to your fellow citizens. And don’t worry. You will never be the one person to send a prisoner to their execution. There are too many checks and balances for that. That’s just an excuse.

      Delete
    31. If you won't do jury duty, you shouldn't vote. The Duggars didn't step back, TLC dropped them. Too much has come out about this family, I doubt very much if they'll come back. Natasha, you need to find a new program to watch or maybe your parents can buy you the DVD's.

      Delete
    32. I agree, 2:42 and 10:27. Democracy has duties for all of us. It's not something given for free. You can't take part of it and not do what you need to for the other parts.

I've been called for jury duty twice. First time, it was a shoplifting case, not exactly death row I would have had to decide. I couldn't serve for that trial because it turned out I knew the store manager where the shoplifting happened! The defense lawyers dismissed me as "biased" when picking the jurors. But I showed up for duty and went through the process like I was supposed to. The second time, I was undergoing a series of medical treatments and could not serve that day. But again, I would have gone if I could have. It's everyone's duty. If you ever have a trial yourself, you'll be glad that your peers showed up to complete the process with you.

    33. I am so thankful that my country does not have the death penalty. The last time it was used was 1963; officially abolished in 1976. We also have sentencing guidelines for various crimes. There is no latitude for first degree murder. It is an automatic sentence. So, all the juries have to do is decided if a person is guilty or not. It also helps that prosecutors here are NOT political, elected positions. They are non-partisans, tasked with the application of the current law of the land.

Someone posted that lawyers are liars and manipulators. That person has been watching too much TV. Lawyers are suppose to defend their clients, to make sure their client gets a fair hearing.

  8. Question. Why does Alert have boys wear what looks like police uniforms? I don't understand the agenda of that program. It's not really been defined for the public, has it. Obviously the Duggars buy into whatever it is though.

    1. Seems you are interested in this program perhaps for one of your own chidlren since you are asking.

    2. What does that have to do with Michelle's birthday? Happy birthday, Michelle!

    3. You could just go to the Alert website and read for yourself about the program.

      Delete
    4. Well if the Duggars buy into it must be good

      Delete
    5. I don't think it looks like a police uniform. They are rather nice uniforms imho. As for "not really defined for the public" what do you mean?

      Delete
    6. So I personally wouldn't send my kids to anything related to Bill Gothard, but from reading their website (where it actually is defined for the public) it looks like a program that teaches both spiritual and practical skills. It's loosely based on the Marines, according to the website, which would account for the use of uniforms. Apparently they find it valuable enough to fork out the money for their kids, like I find piano lessons valuable enough to fork out the money for my three kids. It's not really "buying into" anything, per se, as much as it is investing in their kids to whatever extent they find value in the program. It would be interesting to hear what their guys thought of it.

    7. @2:05 I think it's important that people point out how they don't need a life like Michelle's to feel equally blessed.

    8. Agree, 2:05. Nobody here needed to make it about themselves. The original comment was about Michelle.

    9. Nobody needs to point that out. The original comment was about the blessings in Michelle's life, since this is a post about her birthday. Nobody needs to feel defensive about their own lives.

    10. People were only commenting on how life can be full and happy without having 19 kids. Sometimes people here are too quick to equate life's bounty with how many kids one has, as if having more kids guarantees more happiness. As 5:37 said, it doesn't always do that.

      Delete
    11. Wow -- These comments are crazy. People take things so personally -- or maybe you all want to feel superior? Yeah -- we all get that Michelle has some heartache in her life, but this post is a time to celebrate her birthday. Sheesh!

    4. I live around lots of Amish folks and they are the happiest, most peace filled, content people you could ever know. I learned through watching and being around them that the true riches in life are the simpler things in life which sets them free from vanity and the pursuit of riches. They would chuckle if they ever heard someone say get yourself a new hair cut and a new wardrobe for your Birthday. lol. We could all learn lessons from the Amish like having a good work ethic, loving God, loving others, living a quieter life and realizing that joy and contentment isn't achieved by material things but by a good honorable life in Christ. I'm working on myself with the help of God to become as peaceful and content as my Amish neighbors are.

    5. We are peace maker. Pride is a sin.

    6. @2:44 Part of my father's first job was to work with the Amish, not beside them in the field or barn, but to help them settle land disputes, estates, and things like that. When family farm land was divided and divided between sons and generations until shares that were left were barely large enough to be profitable, there were bound to be disputes and estate dealings that needed to be straightened out. Let me tell you, the Amish are no different than the rest of us when it comes to emotions like anger or feelings of greed and pride, especially with land ownership. My father saw it all. What you're describing in your comment is what you, the public, might see from afar. What goes on at home behind closed doors (or in a law office) is another matter. The Amish are also known for allowing their teens "rumspringa" or a time when rules are relaxed and the teens can experience the outside world and all it has in it, including things like alcohol, driving cars, and using technology. Life can be anything but "quiet" during that period. Beyond that, unfortunately, domestic abuse (along with other types) does happen in Amish families. Fortunately my father did not have to deal with that aspect of Amish life, but living where we did, we heard stories on the news, when news like that could even leak out. While being peaceful and content is a nice goal for you to have, Amish life should not be completely romanticized because it paints a picture that's not completely true. I hope this post gives everyone some more insight on the Amish.

      Delete
    7. 2:44 The Amish are not without their own issues and problems. There is no perfect lifestyle.

    8. I think treating herself to a hair salon day and new clothes would be a great way to celebrate a birthday. We Moms tend to neglect ourselves and do so much for others, as I know Michelle does.

      Delete
    9. @2:44 While I agree that it is the simple things in life that matter the most and that there are things we can learn from the Amish, they do still have their own set of problems within their own society. Personally, I would not want to live in such a restrictive and patriarchal environment, where formal education ends at the end of eighth grade.

      Delete
    10. 12:22, then you say, "hope you can go pamper yourself" rather than "get a good haircut."

    11. Hello. This thread stuck out to me. I left the Amish four years ago. Please, I beg everyone, do not envy their life.
Their dedication to community is beautiful. The slow pace. The constant surrounding of nature and people you know. That is all beautiful, and I miss it terribly. Yes, the people appear peaceful and happy. But that is a requirement of the church. It is not usually genuine.
But it is now my mission to expose what is hidden, so that it can help others get free. The Anabaptist world is full to the brim with abuses. Sexual abuse effects 4/5 Anabaptist girls and 3/5 boys—figures anecdotally gathered by counselors and psychologists who serve former Anabaptist populations. It is against Anabaptist church teachings to expose an abuser to the legal authorities and doing so will get you excommunicated. It is sickeningly common for the males (father, brothers, etc) to molest or rape the girls of the family. They have certain loopholes to excuse it, such as “leaving her dress on means it isn’t fornication,” or “doing it before the girl is 10 means it isn’t intercourse,” etc.
Please do research all of the abuses that ARE FINALLY coming to light in the mainstream world. Google Gideon Miller, Aaron and Petie Schwartz, the death of Sasha Krausse at the hands of an ex-Menno, Mary and James Mast, etc. PLEASE Google The Plain People’s Podcast—a resource full of former Anabaptists telling the gruesome stories of their childhood abuses. Please get on Facebook and look up A Better Way, Splash 4 Ripples, By Thy Words, etc. These are organizations created to serve those leaving the terrors of the Amish and Mennonite churches.

Please do not reject my comment, Lily and Ellie, because I do find it burdensome that these truths be known.
