Jinger's Interview with Jeremy Fall

Jinger Vuolo recently sat down with restaurant owner and podcaster Jeremy Fall for an interview. She spoke about growing up as a Duggar on reality TV and her new life in Los Angeles. This segment was taped just before TLC announced that Counting On had been canceled. You can listen to the interview, which is over one hour long, on Spotify and Apple Podcasts (link below).

  1. Yes. She went on and on about all the men in prison who wanted to marry a Duggar girl. I wasn't very impressed by the interview.

    2. You are twisting her words to make it sound like bragging. The girls previously mentioned how strange it was to have random men contact them on 19 K&C.
Jim Bob and Michelle should have made sure their daughters didn't see those type of letters.

    3. No, she didn't go on and on. I listened to the interview, and it was a very small part, mentioned only to make her point.

DO you realize she is talking about people like you that has made her feel the way she does now? that particular reference was just that it was meant to see the extreames from either the guys were from her church(or came to church to meet the girls, wanted to get famous on the shows or they were inmates in prison and thought since they watched the show they know the girls! It was just that nothing more, she was stating I didn't know any of them, wasnt interested in anyone, and was scared to death! Why do you have to tear here apart?! SHe literally is afraid to make friends?! I NEVER felt this way every about any relationship in my life, either you like me or you didn't but she feels things very deeply. For that we should appreciate those gifts she was given, she is with her one and only love and leans on Jeremy for strength guidance, if you've read the Bible that is the way its suppose to be. STOP tearing her life apart, looking for error to have something to gossip about, move on or why not pray for her?!
God bless Jinger, Jeremy and the girls in L.A. I live in Southern Ca. its tough place to live, guide and direct them, lead only the people YOU desire into their lives and home. FOr this I think you. Amen.

    5. If she's afraid to make friends, then she has her parents to thank for that, subjecting her to strangers all those years. People are trying to point out how dangerous and hurtful doing that to your child can be.

  2. Oh my goodness I didn't realize Jinger nine when her family was first introduced on TLC. Wow how time flies! I will take some time to listen to the podcast. As for the Counting On being canceled,I wasn't able to watch the show and prefer reading updates here anyway.

  3. So much for Jinger’s People Magazine article where she said that she tells Jeremy “I don’t want to be famous”. Girl makes it sound like she is an A list star. I dont see her siblings trying as hard as she does to stay relevant to people who do know who she is. She confuses me.

    2. People got "I don't want to be famous" quote from the Jeremy Fall podcast. There are multiple Duggars with YouTube channels and give more access into their everyday lives than the Vuolos. I think it's a good thing Jinger realizes that her girls need the privacy she never got.

Chile y'all famous for your parents birthing 19 kids.in a few years quite sure she will be living her life like we all do without cameras .when she wrote her book it said on top from counting on...they couldve left that part out if she wanted to..quite sure jer ( as she calls him)(jeremy) loved being famous.he seem like the type to tell people his wife was on the hit show 19kids and counting and counting on🤣

  5. I find it quite odd and troubling that JimBob and Michelle allowed their teen daughters access to the mail they were receiving from incarcerated men and others wanting to date or marry them. Jinger was obviously affected by those bizarre letters, as I'm sure were her sisters. Were they trying to impress upon them all the nut jobs out in the world? For all their talk about protecting their kids, they sure have a strange way of following through with it. Seems like they were more concerned about them wearing long skirts than shielding them from kooks watching their show. The least they could've done was screen the most obvious suspect mail. Come to think of it, the parents showed a complete lack of good judgement in exploiting and sacrificing the privacy of the kids in the first place.

    1. I completely agree 12:03. I think they said on the show that it was Jana who was in charge of the mail room. With the kinds of letters they were getting, that was not a wise parental decision at all. No parent should let their kids open the mail, let alone people who were routinely mailed questionable letters.

      Delete
    2. I agree. There was no reason for any of the children to know these letters were arriving.

      Delete
    3. They were older at that time and probably they read those kind of kooky letters out loud. :-)

    4. Anon 3:32. Jana in "charge" of incoming mail? What sort of parents would put one of their children in charge of fan mail? Sigh. As bad as turning older siblings into "junior parents".

  6. That is so messed up. Why would any parent expose their daughters to the stuff these Duggar girls had to endure by being on TV?

  7. You should not go on public media to complain about how you didn't like being on public media. It negates your message.

  8. I don’t understand, she complains a about being “so famous” and details the negative things, yet is signing book deals, has a podcast, launching promo codes on social media, doing interviews for podcast and magazines ( most are very “ungodly” gossip mags) she refuses to step away from all of this, all of the limelight even though the negative effects it still holds on her. Does she really want that life for her daughters? I get she can’t change what her parents signed her up for when she was still a minor but now that she has her own life, she can walk away from the “fame” anytime she wants, and attempt to create a more normal life for herself and children. But maybe Jeremy still craves the fame and she’s forced to support him in his pursuit, basically leaving her fathers authority only to be entrapped into jeremys authority 🤷🏻‍♀️

    1. So true. And why does she expect anyone to belief that Jeremy "didn't know who the Duggars were" when he met Jessa and Ben? The family had been on TV for many years.

    2. I'm confused actors have for all my life complain about being famous do you think they should ger real jobs too?

      Delete
    3. Exactly. I am somewhat confused from Jingers side of things. I don’t want fame, but I want fame. She is all over the place with it. You either want it or you don’t. She can do a nice family blog to update people every once in a while if she wants to stay somewhat relevant. She does not need to post the way she does on social media. On this podcast, Jinger spoke of people saying they are perfect and having to be careful of what they say in conversation and what not, however her IG if carefully curated to look like life is perfect. Go figure.

    4. I don't think Jinger knows she can do anything else.
She certainly doesn't have the education to do much outside of retail and then who cares for the kids on Jeremy's grad school loan money?

      Delete
    5. Anonymous @1:31- You brought up some excellent points. To be frank, at our house, we're done with people with carefully curated Instagram-worthy life moments. No one's life is all sweetness and light and happy posing for ever-ready cameras. If that's all you're sharing or putting out there for public consumption, you're either living a lie (deceiving yourself) or actively telling one (trying to deceive everyone else). Neither is godly or God-honoring. Not in favor of airing all the dirty laundry, but not in favor of white washing everything either. I thought as Christians, we were supposed to be putting off deception, not perpetrating it.

      Delete
    6. @12:33 I don't think of the Duggars or Vuolos to be in the same league with Hollywood actors. They became famous strictly because of their enormous family. Without that, no one would know who they are. Regardless, any celebrity who complains about being famous should consider another way to earn a living if it's so troublesome, IMO.

    3. It would also stand to reason that you keep your kids away from fame so they don't have a childhood like you had. It's almost like the Duggars are afraid to do anything on their own without having to rely on fame. Sad.

      Delete
    4. These two are too much. They are a walking contradiction. Just live your lives and stop posting every bit of your business in rag magazines, podcasts and every media outlet you can find. Your family is going through a lot right now so how about you be there for them and your 2 kids and leave the public alone. We don't need to know all your business.

      Delete
    5. If you really don''t want the fame and notoriety, get off social media and stay off. Stop giving interviews, launching a business based off your family fame, writing and promoting books about your "experiences", promoting yourselves, making podcasts, and having a camera person following you around capturing your "together moments" and posting them online. It's really not all that hard to live a private life.

  10. If being famous was so bad, why is Jinger doing this podcast?

    ReplyDelete
  11. Such a great interview. Those who are commenting negatively didn’t listen to the whole thing or aren’t actually listening. Jinger said some days she tells Jeremy she just wishes she never was in the spot light....but she realized that would never be the case now. She speaks about how people feel they own you and according to the comments here she is right. They don’t owe anyone anything. What they choose to share is all you get and asking for more is a distortion of rights. Jinger did a great job explaining what is going on and how it affects mental health.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. The people commenting about their complaints with being famous are not asking them to share their lives, but merely pointing out their contractions. If fame is a problem, stop putting yourself out there.

      Delete
    2. If her mental health is affected by being in the spotlight, it stands to reason that you get out of it. No one on this forum is demanding anything from them. Far from it. Most of us with an ounce of sense know that exploiting your family on TV is not going to end well. Jinger may have been an innocent child at the time the show began, but she and Jeremy are all grown up now and make their own decisions. Rather than being private, they seem to be seeking out attention.

      Delete
  12. Jinger can both wish she wasn't famous & continue doing podcasts, social media, etc. It's comparable to someone wishing to make a career change but still needing to make a living. Jinger's career just happens to be, well, being herself.

I can understand why some people think she should just stop any exposure if she really doesn't want fame. But you have to realize that being a minor celebrity is essentially her job - and not one that she chose for herself. I see what she's doing as essentially choosing to work part-time, like many mothers of young children do. She's choosing to remain in the public eye, but also choosing to reduce the amount her kids are part of that. I think it's a commendable choice, honestly.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. While all that's true, at the end of the day, she's still choosing to be a celebrity and pursuing that. She could just as easily afford to go to college and take some photography classes and become a photographer herself (or pursue some other line of work part-time). She has other choices, if she honestly doesn't want the fame.

  13. it is hard to understand why some of the Duggar family[Jill,Jinger and even cousin Amy] would want to air their opinions now that the josh situation is once again in the news. It seems most people would prefer to stay out of the limelight for now.

    1. I think Jill and Amy, in particular, want to be crystal clear that they're not going to "rally to support Josh" this time around. Jinger also appears to be signalling a similar message, although much more carefully worded. The reality is that there has been some family pressure in the past to keep up a united front and protect the family.

      Delete
  14. I listened and I did not get the impression she was complaining about fame. I thought she was very realistic about the upsides and the downsides. The interviewer, Jeremy Fall, was more focused on exposing the negative effects of the paparazzi. I heard her say there are times she wishes she wasn’t well known...but she also accepts that she is and tries to balance how to have normal relationships as well. I think that’s an extremely normal viewpoint—everyone wishes sometimes they had a different life...maturity is accepting and thriving in the life we do have.

I was as ready to believe as anybody that she and Jeremy are after money, and I am sure that is a component. But I also think they genuinely see their fame as a responsibility or a platform. Nothing strange or different about that...plenty of celebrities do that.

  15. Why would ANY parents subject their daughters to the kinds of attention that Jinger described in t=her interview? Ugh. Perhaps these prisoners and kooks hanging around their church were the "suitors" Jana is said to have rejected.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I can't believe that any parent would put the safety and the privacy of their young girls in jeopardy in order to have a TV show! Especially this family who supposedly values their children so much! That infuriates me. To expose those girls to men in prison writing love letters is reckless and irresponsible!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Jeremy and Jinger can step away from the limelight any day they choose. The only ones forcing them to stay there are themselves. As a child and teenager, she had no choice, no voice. She's neither anymore-she's a grown adult woman with two children. If she's that unhappy with the exposure, she needs to take it up with Jeremy and he needs to respect her feelings. I suspect Jeremy wants to be famous though and Jinger likes the lifestyle fame affords her (I hope I'm proven wrong).

    ReplyDelete
  18. She and Jeremy probably feel like they have to take advantage of their audience / fame to spread the gospel.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. If they want to spread the gospel they would do something besides complain about being famous.

      Delete
    2. But yet they are not spreading it, they are selling it. It was about 45 minutes into this podcast before she even mentioned Gods name.
The book they’ve written and promoting is about finding hope. Umm thats what the Bible is for….they should have just said it was their story instead of promoting it as a guide for finding hope. IMO

      Delete
    3. Frankly, I think Jinger and Jer are quite out of touch and a bit elitist. Some of this they've created for themselves, pursuing the attention, generating attention. When you sell your family moments for profit, you sell your privacy. You chose that, so no right to complain about that. It's a shame they didn't consider their children over the last few years while they aggressively marketed themselves as TLC's "breakout stars", their branded merchandise, launched the podcasts, or wrote the book and struck out on a a book promotion tour.

  21. If Jinger really doesn't want to be 'famous' then why does she continue to post her life publicly? Nonsense, I say. She and total fame hog Jeremy, enjoy it to the hilt. Jeremy sought out fame for himself as a soccer player, now he's doing the same thing as a wanna be preacher. Quit it and live your life quietly. I put no stock in what these two say.

    1. It has been very obvious since the beginning that Jeremy was searching for fame in any way he could. And his way was through the Duggar name. She said he wasn’t looking for fame and that he was different from others. Well you know the old saying “Love is blind.” If he truly knows how his wife feels about being in the public eye, he would definitely cut back on it. But this guy wants it badly.

    1. You know, there are other ways to make money than being in the public eye all the time (not to mention complaining about how uncomfortable it is to be in the public eye at the same time). Most people get skills or degrees and then put them to use at jobs 40 or more hours a week, leaving them little time to worry about making podcasts or posting pictures of themselves. And it works! There's money in the bank and in the 401K for later, a roof over your head, food on your plate, and a car in your garage. Did Jinger and Jeremy see examples of how to do that while growing up, the way the rest of us did? I sure hope Jinger figures it out before she becomes any more nervous about having to remain public. You shouldn't have to go through life being so nervous.

      Delete
  23. I'm surprised at all the negative comments. I loved this interview! I thought she was very open and honest and really expressed her feelings. I really appreciated hearing how it was for her to grow up as a reality tv star - the good things and the bad things (she did talk about both). I think she had a humble attitude but was being genuine as well. As far as privacy, I think the point is that SHE wants to have the choice of what she puts out there. She doesn't want some stranger taking pictures of her kids, who would? And people think they have the right to access to all parts of your life just because you choose to show a small part of it? That's dumb. The point is, they are human. You don't have a right to them based on what they choose to show the public. But are they still allowed to have social media accounts and whatever else they want, but still want some privacy? Of course!! We are not entitled to their lives.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Of course there are good things about having a reality show...money and a big house, for starters. But the price you pay to get those things? Not worth it, and not in your control. Jinger can't publicize herself and her book and at the same time expect people not to photograph her family or want to know more.

      Delete
    2. Anon 9:44 The problem is if you are always putting yourself out to the public then it only stands to reason that when in public people will take you and your kids pictures. Which they did and posted their kids pictures on the web a couple days ago. I don't think people are wanting access to all parts of her life, I think people are saying to her to just live your life and stop posting so much. Her and Jeremy seem to be the most fame hungry of all the Duggar S and that is weird because most Pastors and their wives are content with living a private life and aren't posting all their personal life and feelings in tabloids and blogs and you tube videos. It seems they have way to much time on their hands and use that extra time to try to get attention from the public.

      Delete
    3. Huh??? Anon 9:44. No one said we were entitled to their lives, they won't stop posting about their lives! Good grief they use every outlet to spill all their life to people, no one is asking for their personal info. If anything people have tried to make it clear to them to stop living on social media and to go back to their life.

They seek attention constantly and don't seem to know how to live or support themselves without it. How else could they be living in a nice home in LA while not working regular jobs for the last couple of years, and while paying for Jeremy's schooling? If Jeremy takes on the pastorship of a normal, small-medium church and Jinger becomes a pastor's wife, playing the piano and assisting as needed, I might believe they no longer want the attention. In the meantime, stop showing off your trendy clothes and expensive shoes and the gourmet burgers you eat in California. Just totally, completely stop.

They could stop with the daily lovey-dovey poses and instead do occassional posts to update on their family and what is happening with them. For example, a family photo a few times a year of them with their children, a post on significant events like Jeremy's eventual graduation, a photo when Jinger visits her family in Arkansas, a fun photo of them at the beach with their kids, etc. Just normal family updates once in a while. To me, that would be a sincere effort to have privacy without completely withdrawing.

  35. I would welcome a Duggar special a couple times a year to update fans on their lives. I don't need pics of Jinger and Jeremy enjoying their amazing lives on a daily basis. I am not interested in their book or podcast because I don't think they have the qualifications or life experience to be giving out advice. I think they have made some misteps in thinking this is what people want from them and instead of positive responses, they get snarky, rude comments because they are seen as full of themselves. They should learn from this, stop the self-promotion, and start over with a more humble approach to life.

  36. It could be that Jinger is starting to "find her voice", as she works through how spending all those years on a reality TV show has affected her life choices. I don't want to squash her attempts to figure out how she got to where she is and where to go from here. She might sound confused or uncertain, and do one thing and say another, but those could be good signs that she is working through how to have a more balanced and rewarding life for herself and her family. Ever clean out a closet or a garage? It gets messier at first, as you take everything out and look it all over to decide what to keep and what to toss. But it doesn't stay that way forever. Eventually you make sense out of the mess and put it back together better than it was before.
