Update from John and Abbie

Abbie Duggar, Grace Duggar, John-David Duggar

John and Abbie Duggar's daughter, Grace, turned one in January. Because the show has been on a break since September, fans have seen little footage of Gracie. TLC just posted a video update from the family of three (video below).

    2. I sure hope so, but with Outdaughtered and the new show The Blended Bunch, Tuesdays are completely booked on TLC. Also not much is going on due to coronavirus but hopefully soon there will be a new season!!

  3. Gracie is absolutely adorable! There is something so special about John & Abbie. I don't know what it is, but whenever I see something about the two of them, just seeing them makes me feel happy inside and I don't even know them personally! They seem so down to earth and genuine. They always look so happy and you can just see the love they have for each other. Very sweet couple!

    1. Anon 12:58 I feel the same way as you do about John and Abbie and Gracie. There is something so special about them and I love that they are so real and happy and you can tell there is no pretense about them. I like how after marrying they didn't make all kinds of weird changes to their life, looks, etc.but instead stayed true to who they are which is a sign of stable, mature people. They are a blessing.

    2. I get what you mean. Don’t know them personally but seem like a really nice couple with a cutie-pie of a daughter.

    3. I feel the same way, 12:58. They seem like terrific parents, too.

    4. 9:08, I think you hit the nail on the head. They are a stable, mature couple and it shows. I don’t see these 2 ever trying to be Instagram influencers.

    5. I think it has a lot to do with them being older when they got married (by Duggar standards at least) it gave them time to grow, have careers and figure out who they were and what they wanted in a spouse before getting married.

    6. A few years of growing up and maturing makes worlds of difference! These kids marrying at 18 or 19 haven’t discovered who they are yet!

  4. Thank you John and Abbie for sharing! Gracie is so precious!

  7. Piercing a baby's ears is no different than tattooing them. There's no medical reason for doing either.

    1. At least they didn't pierce her nose. lol

    2. Completely agree. It should be illegal to do that to a baby. Surprising with her nursing background Abbie would make such a poor choice.

    3. Ear piercing is very conservative. I can understand how piercing your lip, tongue, eyebrow, nostrils, belly button, or upper ears can be equated with tattooing, but a single piercing in the earlobe for wearing earrings more comfortably is very conservative.

    4. Are Gracie’s ears pierced?

    5. I’ve had my ears pierced since I was a newborn and have no tattoos or any other piercings. I see no correlation.
Also, I’m immensely glad that my parents pierced by ears as a baby, wouldn’t have it any other way. If the kid grows up to not like the piercing they can just stop wearing earrings and the hole will close. It isn’t that big of a deal.

    6. When you have a daughter you can decide whether she has her ears pierced or not. Their child, their decision. As a grandmother to 16, 6 girls, I do not see a problem with getting their ears pierced. It's actually easier to do when they are a baby because they don't remember it and moms or dads take care of the ears till they are healed.

    7. My mum got my ears pierced when i was a baby. I think it looks Nice on a little girl. Do you need a medical reason? And whats wrong with tattoos, my husband has 3 big ones....He is a male nurse and working very hard during this pandemenic. Its Just a little punch, getting your ears pierced, not a big deal. Grace looks cute.

    8. At 1157, piercing a babies ears isn't conservative at all! Jill

    9. It's a terrible thing to do to a child, especially a baby! It's only for the parents' vanity. If you want to put earrings on a baby, get a doll baby.

      Delete
    10. I can think of terrible things that are done to babies that deserve the word terrible. Pierced ears do not.

    11. You know you're way overboard when you equate a single ear piercing to tattoos.

      Delete
    12. My opinion - being overboard is thinking that your baby needs earrings.

  15. Great family photo of you guys. Hopefully someday in time Gracie will have a little sibling. I really can't wait to see everyone. My dad read to me that season 12 of counting on would officially come mid April or summer of 2021. I really want to know which one it is. I can't wait for March 30th to see the special episode. I really can't wait for season 12. Natasha b

    1. A new season in mid-April seems unlikely as TLC would be advertising it by now. All they've done is announce a special for Easter. Maybe in the summer.

  16. Oh no! Not a sibling. One child is more responsible, easier to care for and easier to take any place! This mature couple may have already figured this out. I betcha! Plus they can stay in the trailer longer and save money!

    1. More responsible? For parents who are paying their own way and not on public assistance? It's GREAT to have a sibling(s) -- when you're young and also as you age. I'm sad for you that you can't appreciate that.

      Delete
    2. Another comment about needing public assistance, as if there's any shame in that. God forbid you ever get in a position where your luck turns, circumstances change, and you can't make it on your own without help. When we were in the military as a family, there were many enlisted families who qualified for WIC. I know because my own family came very close. I knew people who qualified and I saw the WIC cards in use at the commissary check-outs. Imagine that - being in the military, working around the clock defending your country's freedom, yet qualifying for assistance. It still happens - look it up! People should be outraged about that. Thank you for the opportunity to raise awareness about it.
