Baby Forsyth #3 On the Way

Gideon Forsyth, Austin Forsyth, Joy Forsyth

Just before Austin's birthday on December 11th, Joy-Anna Forsyth found out that she was pregnant! The elated couple has since been told the gender, and it's a girl! She is due in five months, on August 19th, 2020. At around eight weeks, Joy's blood work indicated that it might be a molar pregnancy, which is not viable. The expectant mother was overjoyed to find out that the baby was healthy. Baby Girl Forsyth is due nine months after Annabell's November 2019 due date.

  1. Aw, glad to hear this! Hoping everyone stays healthy. I'm sure she is extra concerned and being extra careful. And for those of you who said you thought she was pregnant, good call! ;)

  2. I hope all continues to go well. Blessings!

  3. Congratulations. So happy for you all. Your son is so precious and seems to have such a sweet personality. May God bless you all.

  4. Congratulations! I'm sure they are still nervous, and just saying their prayers. They'll feel better once they pass that 18-20 week mark (when Annabell went to heaven) and the doctors confirm everything is good. I'm keeping them in my prayers also.

  7. I'm so happy for them ! And relieved to see that they have sufficiently recovered to allow life to go on. This rainbow baby will bring them so much happiness ! I hope Joy isn't too stressed out though. Big congratulations to them !

  8. It's baby Forsyth #2 if no miscarriage. Since last year would have been it if there was no miscarriage. Miscarriages don't have numbers even though it's sad to miscarry a baby. I hope this baby girl grows healthy and is born healthy. Congratulations. We're so proud of them.

    1. Wrong. She labored and delivered that baby. What she held and wept over was a baby. Third baby, third pregnancy.

      Delete
    2. That was a really late miscarriage and she had to give birth to her baby, and was able to hold her in her arms and give her a name. It's no wonder they consider this baby to be their third.

      Delete
    3. You can call a miscarriage whatever you'd like. Stop the nit-picking.

      Delete
  9. This is their second living child.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Actually, this is their third living child. A living thing grows and breathes. During Annabell's short life in the womb, she breathed and grew, thereby classifying her as "living." So... this baby is their third living child, not second.

      Delete
    2. Then who is Annabelle? Oh yeah. Austin and Joy’s second child!

      Delete
    3. Just because Annabelle passed away does not make her nonexistent. She counts for goodness sake

      Delete
    4. 2:07: if the loss of Annabell was registered at the hospital as death of a child, the baby would be considered to be a baby. But she passed in a womb, she never lived outside of her mother's body, so it is not counted as a living child. Parents of course will remember her forever, but when they count children, they count those who was born live.

      Delete
    5. I had members of my family have stillborn’s, nobody counted them as a living child. When somebody asked them how many kids they have they always said the number that was living.

      Delete
    6. @ 2:07, a fetus does not breath. Breathing constitutes inhaling and exhaling air, there is no air in the uterus just amniotic fluid.

      Delete
    7. Fish breathe water...

      Delete
    8. I gave birth to 3 children. I know I have 3 sons but when asked how many I have I say 2. I have a 29yr old and a 26yr old. I had twins (26yr) and one of them was stillborn. I recieved a Report of fetal death for him and a Certificate of live birth for his brother. Yes he still exists in our family life (visit grave often).

      Delete
    9. Well if you call this one a living child at this stage then Annabelle was a living child. So this is the third.

      Delete
    10. It really is up to the parents to decide how to answer the number of children. Some will tell you the total number and then add that there is also one in heaven. Some only tell you the number of living because it's too painful or they don't want to talk about it or make it awkward for the person asking.

      Delete
    11. I'm frustrated by this is it #2 or #3.
Some I know who have lost would say 2 others 3 but all would acknowledge, remember and love their lost baby. It doesnt matter when a miscarriage happens it's a loss.

  17. There was definitely a bump when Jinger had come back for that sister luncheon and Target shopping trip, so anyone who called it back then, spot on. Joy can't hide a pregnancy. She gets big real fast.

  18. Really hope all goes well for this lovely couple. Hope joy stays extra safe in the current climate & her family follow the guidance to keep her as secluded from people as possible so as not to catch covid. Joy deserves a happy healthy pregnancy & I am praying that is what she gets.

  19. Amazing news! And Joy is already quite far along if her pregnancy; if her due date is August 19th, she is 18 weeks now! Wow. This is really very happy news!

  22. She's around 18 weeks already, and that's good. That's about where she was with Annabell, so she must feel relieved that all is well at this point. I know it was hard for me being pregnant again after suffering a terrible loss, and I pray for Joy and Austin that this pregnancy, and this little girl, will be blessed.

    ReplyDelete

    1. She lost her previous baby at 20 weeks, so if she is 18 week now that's probably a painful point. Unless they had some concerns the previous time, like baby not moving or something. This time they seem to go to the doctors a lot, measure the levels, do genetic test, like they watch this pregnancy more closely with doctors. So hopefully it all will be fine this time.

  23. That is lovely news. Bless them and their little family. So hard to deal with the emotions of a pregnancy after a loss. God Bless them.

  32. Very happy Joy is getting medical attention for this pregnancy. Hoping for a healthy baby!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Oh I'm so glad for her. I do hope she has a midwife who comes to her home for care instead of going to a doctor's office. Some care providers here are asking healthy patients not to come in because they don't want them to get sick.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Here’s hoping for an uneventful pregnancy and delivery!! So happy they will be able to welcome their rainbow baby in August. I really hope joy has regular checkups by a licensed medical professional. I know she must be excited but a little apprehensive as well. Sending hugs and positive thoughts!!

  36. So they polluted the air and wasted fuel with a helicopter, just to drop pink paper and plastic trash all over a field to announce the gender. Duggars, you are very poor stewards of the planet God gave you and me. You act as if nobody else matters but your family. Atrocious.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Let them celebrate the way they want to! I'm sure they picked up the trash afterward, if there was any. There is reason to celebrate here; let's not dwell on the negatives! You should be happy for Joy and Austin! If you lost a baby, and had a gender reveal for your rainbow baby, trash coming out of a helicopter and fuel wouldn't be the first thing on your mind. Let them celebrate how they want!

      Delete
    2. After losing a baby, I'm sure they wanted to celebrate. Can we just be happy for her and Austin? I'm sorry that you felt the need to be negative over this wonderful occasion. Austin & Joy...congratulations! I can't wait to see your beautiful daughter.

      Delete
    3. Yes they did! I couldn't happier!

    4. So with all the concerns about Coronavirus that's going on in the world, all you can think about is how a gender reveal was done? Atrocious!

      Delete
    5. What happened to the frugal ways they used to talk about?

      Delete
    6. @2:10, you said trash and fuel coming out of helicopters was the last thing on their minds. Do you know how selfish that sounds? not caring about trashing the earth or polluting the air is always atrocious and selfish no matter how many pregnancies you have lost.

      Delete
    7. @6:30, exactly those frugal ways were not polluting the earth.

      Delete
    8. Watch the video. They did not pick up the trash. It blew all over the field in the wind and with the wind from the helicopter. Then they all went inside for ice cream.

      Delete
    9. This is a happy & Joy-ful occasion; can we just suspend the negativity & criticism for once?! Bless you all. ❤

      Delete
    10. I couldn't agree more with some of the comments. It's important to notice and talk about the things the Duggars do to create unnecessary trash and pollution. They WANT to be examples for the rest of us. They WANT us to believe that having a big family is wonderful and doable. Yet they go through Styrofoam plates and plastic utensils by the thousands and continue to do ridiculous, wasteful stunts like this. Joy and Austin could have stood up front inside the house and simply said, "We're having a girl!" Squeals and excitement and hugs would still have ensued. Instead, they did some silly stunt that made a big mess and created a lot of waste.

      Delete
    11. @10:55, it’s not joyful and happy for the people who have to breath polluted air, Think about that?

      Delete
    12. Letting all of that confetti 🎊 into the air is not good! It does seem wasteful. When released from 100 feet in the air or more, there is no way to clean all of that up.

      Delete
    13. I agree 11:57, this family is actually proving how harmful a big family is to the air and environment. If they wanted a big gender reveal that could have used balloons, paint or cake. Those things would not have polluted the air and they would have had fun.

      Delete
    14. Birds will use the confetti for their nests and if the Duggars are paying for the fuel then that doesn’t effect your life in anyway. Stop trying to find ridiculous things to complain about🙄

      Delete
    15. @1:00, actually the fuel does effect my life. I could inadvertently inhale it’s harmful substances. People have every right to complain about the quality of air that they breathe.

  61. Great! So the baby is due 9 months after Joy's previous due date and about 13.5 months after her stillbirth. And it's so good they kept it to themselves until now, because all fans' responses would just add to her anxiety about the current pregnancy. Now she is 18-19 weeks already, and seems like she checks with the doctor often.

  62. Let's hope she can have her baby with this virus going around. This summer were going to be lock up meaning no one will be allow outside their homes and no one can visit anyone . If you get caught going outside you will have to pay a find of.

    2. Don't believe everything you hear in the news; virus' are short lived in sunlight! 🌞

      Delete
    3. @1:53 That's not true. Hard-hit Italy has been letting people leave the house to get groceries and to go to the pharmacy. They're limiting how many people are in a grocery store at one time and for how long (10 minutes), and pharmacies are doing business through a window only. In the Hubei province of China, the heart of the epidemic, when the lockdown was at its height, one household resident was allowed to leave once every 3 days for food or drugs.

So far, babies born to women who are COVID positive do not show signs of the virus themselves. Nor has the virus been found in amniotic fluid or breast milk. But not enough research has been done due to the small number of positive pregnant women who have delivered.

      Delete
    4. Viruses do not "go away" @8:35. This one will still be here except more people will have antibodies to it after having it and surviving. It will have to search harder for a host but it will still find one. Spring and summer in the US or Europe means fall and winter in Australia or any country south of the equator. That is normally the height of cold and flu season in those places. Developing a vaccine for this strain of virus will further help slow the spread, but only if people take the vaccine and if it's indeed effective. Look at measles. Kids weren't getting that for decades because of the vaccine, but then some people started objecting to all vaccines and now we're seeing measles and other disease outbreaks like that again. Viruses do not "go away."

      Delete
    5. 11:00, no one knows how this virus will react to sunlight. It’s a new virus so we really don’t know much about it. I hope you’re right!

      Delete
    6. They aren't going to tell people they can't go outside on their own property. Viruses don't get carried away in the wind...

    7. How do you explain the cases in the southern hemisphere? Please do not ignore science simply because it is inconvenient to you.

      Delete
    8. 12:57, I’m 19 and I have many friends who were never vaccinated. Plenty of people don’t vaccinate, it’s not some new concept it’s just become more of a discussion online. And the measles has never been eradicated, it didn’t just show back up because people weren’t vaccinated. Measles is really not a big deal.

      Delete
    9. When Covid-19 would exstinct by the sun, it wouldn't be in Australia and California...😬

      Delete
    10. @12:58 Measles is not a big deal?! It killed 140,000 children in 2018, most under the age of 5. That's ridiculous, given the fact that an effective vaccine for it has been around for decades. It's when you don't get the vaccine, and your friends don't get the vaccine, that the disease spreads. Can you imagine the uproar there would be if 140,000 children died in one year from anything else? Now imagine that number over 2 million, which the World Health Organization says it would be if NO children were vaccinated.

      Delete
    11. 12:58, please tell the parents who’ve lost children over the years to measles that it’s “no big deal”.
You were born long after measles & other diseases were commonplace so you really have no idea how horrible they could be. My mother-in law nearly died as a child from diphtheria. My 2 brothers are sterile, most likely from the mumps they had. An aunt lived for years in an iron lung from polio. Three of my grandfather’s sibling died from flu in the 1918 pandemic. God has given humans the ability to create vaccines which have enabled millions of people to live who would have died without them. Please read up on herd immunity. You’re most likely protected by it. Everyone who can be vaccinated should be to protect those who can’t. Soon there will no longer be herd immunity as more & more people listen to the quacks on-line & diseases such as diphtheria & measles make a huge come back. I realize it’s trendy and a badge of honor to refuse vaccinating your children but it’s extremely selfish. I can’t imagine taking that kind of risk with my children’s lives.

      Delete
    12. @12:58 measles can be a big deal. People have died from them. I have a good friend who almost did. Mumps can be very dangerous as well. If a adult male gets them it can leave them sterile. Too not get your child vacinated is very, very selfish. My child and my grandchildren are all vaccinated. Whoever told you measles is not really a big deal lied to you, just google it. Mumps and chicken pox as well. J wish they had these vaccines when I was young. I had every strain of measles there was

  63. It's weird how you worded the title of this post. It's their second child, not third. Their miscarriage doesn't count.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Says who? Some people choose to count the children they’ve lost in utero, and some don’t. Totally up to each couple.

      Delete
    2. Sure it does. She went through labor at the hospital and held her second child. Just because she passed away does not mean she wasn't their child. How insensitive.

      Delete
    3. First, it wasn’t a miscarriage. At 20 weeks it’s a stillbirth. Second, it most certainly does count. As a mother who has suffered a stillbirth at 39 weeks, my son counts. Joy’s daughter, Annabell, counts. Even though our children aren’t with us physically, they still existed and their lives counted. Don’t ever tell a mother who has lost a child that her child doesn’t count cause they’re not alive.

      Delete
    4. Do you have children@3:05? Do you count all the ones you delivered, held, and kissed? Annabelle most definitely is Joy and Austin’s second child.

      Delete
    5. It sure does! Annabell is their second child? If she doesn't count, then what is she? If you lost a child, you would want he or she to count as your child! You wouldn't deny your own child???

    6. Joy talked about Annabelle recently online. She referred to Annabelle as a miscarriage most likely because she passed before the 20 week mark even though they found out later.

    3. 5:34, yeah I don’t think Jessa will have another baby until next year. I could see Jinger announcing a pregnancy soon and having a baby at the end of the year though. And I think Jill will also make an announcement by the end of the year.

      Delete
    4. Ivy is almost 10 months. Theoretically it is possible that Jessa can be pregnant now, but I think her hands are full with 3 kids already and living in a small house. I find it amazing how well her kids are always taken care of, dressed nicely, hair combed. Unlike Jill's kids.

    1. I agree! She was born and even if she wasnt she should still count as she did exist

  70. I’m am literally grieving and angered by so many comments saying this is their second child because a miscarriage, or stillbirth in this case, doesn’t count. Since when does a child “not count” because they died? The ignorance and lack of compassion is mind boggling.

    1. When joy and Austen meet new people they most likely say they have one son and after she gives birth she will say two children. So what is the point in saying baby Forsyth 3 when they will have two children to raise? Plus, almost everybody don’t want to hear your tale of miscarriages and stillbirths when they ask you how many children you have.

    2. I completely agree with you. My son was stillborn at 30 weeks and I still consider him my child. We have pictures of him up in our house and I am still a mother, even though he is not with us.

  72. This is a scary time to be pregnant, so I will pray for them. Not because of the corona virus, but because of the government control we are all about to be under. I live outside of seattle, and let me tell you, it’s eerily weird here. Now I guess our governor has shut down dental offices. So hopefully it doesn’t come to that down where they live. Scary times.

    1. Maybe the government needs to take control because people can't seem to control themselves. Younger people are not staying home enough. They are out in public spreading the virus. Bars were crowded on St. Patrick's Day and college kids were partying in Florida on spring break. Someone I read about went to a big concert while symptomatic. Now they're trying to find anyone who sat near him.

All these closings are smart moves, even though they will impact life and the economy very deeply. Health is more important right now. Most dental offices are closed EXCEPT for emergencies. This was first state Dental Board decisions. Now even in the cities/states that have started the strictest lockdowns, dental offices are still available for emergencies. They are considered essential health care.

    2. I live in the Midwest and our states's dental offices, medical and vet clinics are closed to all but essential services. Bars and restaurants are closed. Schools shut down. That's just using common sense. Would you rather this virus spread unchecked throughout our population, as did the flu pandemic of 1918? That was so deadly because too many governments did NOT take measures to ensure the health of everyone.

      Delete
    3. Are you serious? I'd rather be inconvenienced for a couple of weeks in order to control this new disease. If our government does nothing we'll end up like they are in Italy with the health care system completely over run by the sick and dying.

      Delete
    4. It’s not control it’s trying to stop a deadly virus from spreading,

    5. Dental offices here in upstate NY are closed, too. But I don't blame them. I wouldn't want to be working that closely to people when it wasn't absolutely necessary. But my son was supposed to get his braces off next month, and now we don't know how long he will have to wait!

    6. I still don’t understand the extreme hype over the corona virus. More people have died this year from the flu, but we’re not freaking out over that. It just doesn’t add up. Either they’re making too big of a deal out of this, or the CDC has always lied about the number of people who die each year from the flu and that’s why these numbers are so concerning.

      Delete
    7. Um, there’s a lot of people that have the virus and don’t know it, so the death rate numbers are not true. Also, this is a flu, the media has hyped it up really good, spreading fear, and now this is the chance the global government has been waiting for, to take total control of the people. Why is there not all this hysteria every year with the flu??? The flu kills 56,000 people a year! Also, look at the facts, 90% of people that get tested come back negative! It’s government control for a bigger agenda to take away your freedoms. Never let a good crisis go to waste!

    8. Anon 6:14. Pushing conspiracy theories in a time of crisis is counterproductive. No one unleashed this new viral disease on the world in an effort to "take over". The reality is that countries where there has been a strong effective government response the disease has been brought under control in relatively short order. People don't inconvenience themselves for the greater good so of course there needs to be rules that are strictly enforced. I think your attitude is why this disease will ravage the US.

    9. 6:14, from what I've read, this is way more than the flu. I think the numbers are way off, that we've had this in our country for several months, and that hospitals weren't testing for corona and just diagnosing with pneumonia and other conditions. How many died before they started testing? We'll never know.

      Delete
    10. It's more than a flu....sadly enough... In a few weeks, you will know...

      Delete
    11. @6:14 Explain to me how any country or any person would benefit from unleashing a virus that kills humans and wrecks economies? There's no country on this planet who will not suffer from this. There's nothing to gain.

      Delete
  73. You do understand why the government has taken control, right? It’s to control the pandemic. If the government left it to individuals there would be no control or coordinated effort to obtain food and needed services. Government isn’t always the big bad bogeyman that many fear.

  74. Guys, a stillbirth is AFTER 20 weeks. Joy had a miscarriage.

I’m surprised no one talks about this.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Medically yes, but if you have to go to the hospital and deliver the baby some people still consider it a stillbirth.

    2. Who cares about “weeks”. Joy lost her daughter, Annabelle. Annabelle will always be her second child whether it’s a miscarriage or stillbirth.

    3. Science cares about “weeks.” (Why the parentheses? Yes, weeks are things that exist.) After 20, stillbirth. At or before, miscarriage.

    1. We live in a fallen world with problems to include losing babies to miscarriage. You’re either a child writing this comment, or an adult just trying to stir up trouble.

    2. Maybe that baby had some genetic thing and did not have vital organs, so it could not survive in a womb any longer?

    3. Well it is mean to take away a healthy fetus and just as mean to let a severely disabled one to be born.

  76. Congratulations to the happy couple. Praying for a safe and healthy pregnancy and baby.

  77. I live near Seattle too and I wish they would close down more places. Dental offices are being closed for non-urgent procedures only. This helps slow the spread since patients can’t wear masks and may be sick, and also saves the medical supplies for people who need it now as there’s a shortage. It’s called helping keep people safer and slowing down the death rate, not abuse of government control. I restrict my children from certain things because it keeps them safer and is best for them. That’s care and concern for the long term, not control.

    2. What’s scary is that everyone is going along with this, and that they trust their government so much. But yet everyone is hoarding toilet paper and supplies, really says how much they trust their government right?

    3. Seattle has the most Asian population and many travel back to Asia where the virus originated.

    4. 6:17- I trust medical experts, not government officials. People are hoarding because of feeling out of control.

    5. @6:17 What is there to trust? The "expert" in charge?

  78. If Joy wants to count this baby as her 3rd let her. She believes that life starts in the womb so she counts 3 babies. We can all agree that this is wonderful news in a scary time. So congrats to Joy and family on the new little blessing.

  79. I've truly never heard of counting a miscarried or stillborn baby as one of your children. Certainly you can count that baby as a child in your heart but not to everyone. It just gives the impression that this is her 3rd living baby. Its just so strange.

Yes, Annabell most certainly counts as their second child. They held their beautiful baby girl, I don’t understand why people don’t think she counts.
Wishing their family much love, health and happiness as they await this sweet baby’s arrival.
