  6. Can someone tells us if Tyler is officially adopted or are the Duggars just his legal guardians?

  9. I THINK SINCE JIM BOB AND MICHELLE HAVE CUSTODY OF TYLER, EVEN THO HE IS A COUSIN, I THINK TYLER SHOULD BE ADDED IN THE PICTURES ABOVE AND THEY SAID HE IS BETWEEN JENNIFER AND JORDON. HE IS FAMILY AND BEING RAISED BY THE DUGGARS, MAKE HIM FEEL INCLUDED IN THE FAMILY PICTURES.
I HOPE YOU WILL TALK TO JIM BOB AND MICHELLE ABOUT IT. THANK YOU FOR YOUR DEDICATED WORK ON THE BLOGS <3

    1. Good idea....I agree.

    2. Woo 😯! You don’t need to use all caps.

      Delete
    3. It is not about what you, a stranger, thinks. Tyler, Jim Bob and Michelle are quite capable of deciding how much exposure Tyler has, in order for him to feel comfortable in his life with his cousins, aunt & uncle, and continuing to feel connected to his mom, gramma, etc. And no, Lily & Ellie don't need to 'talk to Jim Bob and Michelle about it.' !

    4. Anon 7:00 Maybe this person needs all caps to see more clearly. Don't judge...your eyesight may go someday, too.

    5. 7:00 PM -- Some people use all caps because they are seeing-impaired. Try not to let it bother you. I'm sure you can read the comment whether in caps or lower case.

    6. 3:09 you said it very well. I agree completely.

    7. Hello, this is February 22nd , 2020 at 7pm. Yes I am the person who left the February 22nd comment. I just wanted to let you all know that it is not right to criticize a person about weather or not their sight has gone or they have lost it. I just wanted to let you all know that I have trouble seeing and wear glasses. I also wanted to let you know that I am also hearing impaired. Maybe we should be kinder to those with disabilities. Thank you

    1. Yes, you did miss something. They announced several years ago that Michelle’s nephew had come to live with them as his mom wasn’t up to looking after him.

      Delete
    2. Really? Michelle's nephew that has been living with them for years...

      Delete
    3. Hes michelles nieces son

      Delete
    4. He’s from Michelle’s side of the family. If I remember correctly he’s her nephew.

      Delete
    5. Tyler, is Michelle's grand-nephew. When Tyler's grandmother (Michelle's sister, who was looking after Tyler,) had some health issue, Michelle, and Jim Bob, got custody of Tyler, and he has been living with the Duggars, ever since.

  13. I would like to hear after years of working as children for the show and making appearances for many events while children and remaining in their parents home until marriage that all the adult children, at least the married ones, are living in a modest home in their own name. I understand Jinger is renting because of her husband at school out of state. Even with Anna’s challenges they should have enough for a modest three bedroom. I’d like to know that they got compensated and those years at home meant savings for their married life and financial independence. Otherwise maybe homeschooling until the parents decide they graduated isn’t something I should be standing up for them. I want to see it generated adult children able to attain the American dream of independent living away from parents and home ownership. We see the Bates married kids living independently.

    1. Good luck finding all that out... how about we just wish Tyler a happy birthday since that's what this post is all about...

    2. This doesn't really have anything to do with Tyler's birthday, though. The focus of this particular post is supposed to be about Tyler's 12th birthday.

    3. Once again, I wonder why people question where the Duggars get their money. They flip houses, run car lots, Jessa said some of them are licensed real-estate agents, etc. It isn't all about being on the show. I don't doubt the adult children are living independently of JB and Michelle. Why wouldn't they be?

      Delete
    4. It is valid question especially considering the parents' views on homeschooling.

How can a family of real estate agents, house flippers and used car salesmen make living wages in the rural and economic depressed area where the Duggars live.

      Delete
    5. The whole family with the exception of Derrick and Jeremy are dependent on the TV money to support their life style. Who knows what will happen when that dries up? Should be interesting to say the least.

      Delete
    6. @10:50 Don't be so sure about Jeremy. I would say that Derick is the only one trying to be financially independent of family and show.

      Delete
    7. 10:50 Jeremy is in school and of course Jinger doesn't work, so how do you know that they are not dependent on the show? They seem to have a comfortable life.

      Delete
    8. Josh rented from JB, Jill rented from JB, Anna lived in the Duggar home with her kids for a time even though they had a place? Not even with her family. Sometimes Joy Anna is in a trailer? Like you said the parents have tons of money. Clearly the kids worked while minors and finished school early and left home late meaning they could save up money to not pay rent. A plus given their occupations are limited. We see the Bates kids living in apartments and homes in multiple locations, not just on the Duggar property or in a Duggar property. Does homeschooling, buying used and living at home really prepare kids? Michelle and JB were away from home at 17 1/2 and 19 and seemingly adult.

    9. This is such a tiring and unfair complaint. The only Duggars that appear to be living strictly off of the show and fame is Jess & Ben. The other ones all have jobs and seem like hard workers. Hopefully Ben will graduate soon and start working as well. Their entrepreneurial jobs might not be good enough for the snobs on here but they are and can be good careers. The Duggars will be just fine if the show ends tomorrow. They just might not be able to buy as many planes.

      Delete
    10. Derrick & family are no longer with the show. He’s now in law school. It appears only JD May hold an independent job from his father. All the other work age boys, work for JB. Of course, none of the daughters hold careers; except Jesse the family reality star.

      Delete
    11. We have seen the minor kids cleaning up the properties the Duggar family bought to flip or rent out. Boy and girl. Which leads the question of why are they renting from the Duggar’s instead of owning. The reality show, old fashioned labor, opportunities to work and save because they homeschool and can finish when they like being expected to live at home until marriage means they should have ample money to own and now rent. There isn’t anything snobbish. Surely you can be independent without college. That is what we would like to see.

  17. What, a birthday where we identify the person by their name, not their number?

    ReplyDelete

    1. Finally! You should keep it up. Every Duggar has a name.

    2. (1) Tyler isn't one of 19. No number.
      (2) Birthday posts always include the name, not just the number.

    3. Tyler is not duggar 🤦🏻‍♀️

    4. That's rude and uncaring, 5:40. You don't have to share a last name to be a real part of a family.

  19. Why can his own parents not properly care for him? Then he was taken care of by his grand mother and why couldn't she do it? I never heard the backstory on how he came to end up with the Duggars? The child seems ctossed around alot. That's sad.

    ReplyDelete

    1. It is indeed sad whatever may have happened, but It's his story to tell if and when he wants to. I'm glad the adults in his life are keeping it secret. If ever wants to share it'll be his choice once he is grown.

      Delete
    2. I know his backstory as do many others but it is not our business to spill his private family life all over the internet. His a minor, let him have his privacy

      Delete
  20. It’s honestly none of our business how he “came to live with the Duggar’s.” If they wanted to give you more information they would. I’m sure it’s a painful and private story. Let’s just commend the Duggar’s for providing the boy a home.

  21. Happy birthday, Tyler. We hope that when you’re 18 and go back to your real family and to college, that you’ll eventually write a tell-all Duggar book.

    ReplyDelete

    1. We don't all hope that. What a suggestion!

      Delete
    2. Your comment is despicable. They probably won't post this but I guess you can say whatever you want about the Duggars but we can't call your comment out as terrible. Instead of appreciating that they opened their home and their heart to this boy you have to be cruel and wish the worst for them.

    3. 6:45- Unfortunately, one's ability to procreate does not ensure the capability of providing a loving, secure, and stable home. A "real family" is one that does all those things and more, regardless of whether or not biology or giving birth is a part of it.

      Delete
    4. When Tyler is 18, he will think about Duggars as his "real family" because he is growing up now in a loving Duggar home, surrounded by kids of his age; he gets schooling, he play an instrument, they showed him to play with others in a recital. He is great friend with Jackson, and most probably the younger Duggar girls. When he is taken care of, and I'm sure he is happy where he is.

      Delete
    5. His birth mom isn’t imaginary. They were family already before coming into the home.

      Delete
    6. I'm sure Tyler is in contact with his Mom and Grandmom. It's not uncommon for a situation to happen in families and a child or children stay with extended family until their biological Mom or Dad gets things straightened out in their own personal lives. It's such a blessing to have extended family to step in like Tyler's Aunt Michelle did and it looks like Tyler is happy and healthy and will grow up to be a Godly man and a blessing in this world.

      Delete
    7. Yes, he'll be telling all about the love and care he received from a wonderful family. Can't wait!

      Delete
  22. As I recall he was removed from his home because he was not being cared for. The Duggars have never provided details; good for them! It is sad when parents don't care for their child, but there's more of that in the world that you would want to know. I work in the mental health field and I've heard some horrific stories from children younger than Tyler. And, thank God the Duggars were willing to take him him to provide him with some stability.

    1. OP - Perhaps your first sentence is true when it comes to his bio mother, at some point in her life when things got tough for her. However, his grandmother had stepped in and was taking care of him after that, until she had medical problems.

  24. He sets the lonely in families. Psalm 107.

  25. It I recall right, his Mom was struggling with some personal issues and so his Grandmom took him and then the Grandmom had some serious health issue and so his Aunt Michelle who is the sister to his Grandmom took over care of him. I'm sure his Grandmom and his Mom love him and I seen a picture of Tyler and his Grandmom together since living with his Aunt so they are still a part people of his life., but they just can't take care of him right now. It's such a blessing when there is problem in a family that the extended family steps in and helps like his Aunt Michelle did in this case.

  27. It I s so nice to see the fun and meaningful I Love You Day celebration on the Bates’ Blog. It seems like the Duggar Blog entries have only been about birthdays lately. Please know I recognize that birthdays are wonderful and noteworthy and important. But after awhile, the same type of entries get boring and the responses even more boring and predictable. Surely a family of that size made up of interesting, involved, active folks are doing more than just having birthdays.

  28. So Tyler is 12, Jennifer turned 12 last August, Jordyn was 11 in December, Josie is 10. They all are similar age. Johannah is a little older at 14, and Jackson is 15, will be 16 in May. But I noticed Jackson and Tyler are always together, I guess because they are boys.

  29. Hi Tyler! I hope you had a great birthday. You seem to me like a very nice boy and you will grow up as a nice young man.

  30. Happy Birthday, Tyler. You’re not first cousins with the Duggar siblings, so it would be fabulous if you grew up and became a husband to Josie or Jordan. How awesome would that be!

    1. No, it's not a good idea to marry your cousin.

    3. The Duggar siblings are first cousins to his mother and he is growing up with them like siblings. To suggest a marriage is just creepy!

      Delete
    4. Tyler is PART OF THE DUGGAR family, he is like their brother, so that comment is gross!!!!!

      Delete
  31. 6:19, what!?!?. That's just weird to hope he marries one of his cousins. I don't care if they're not first cousins.

    ReplyDelete
  32. The fact that he’s being raised as a sibling to the very girls you would want him to marry makes your comment extremely inappropriate.

    ReplyDelete
  33. It seems to me that a child from a troubled background like that would be much more suited for a family where he could get more individual attention and one in one parental care. He seems lost in the crowd here. Family or not.
