Fussy Felicity

Jinger Duggar Jeremy Vuolo Felicity Vuolo

"At this newborn stage, it's always a guessing game to figure out why Felicity's crying. I never really know if she's hungry, tired, or if it's something I ate."
-Jinger Vuolo

On tonight's episode, you'll see the first glimpse of Jinger and Jeremy Vuolo in their role as parents. As all parents of newborns know, adjusting to life with less sleep can be difficult. In the video below, the Vuolos invite viewers into their home to watch Felicity's nighttime routine.

Tonight's new episode is available on the TLC website for those who have login credentials from their TV provider. The link is below.

  1. this is what newborns do...they are fussy. You can't expect to get a lot of sleep at the beginning w/ a newborn

    1. That's not limited to newborns. But I will say Jinger was being a bit of a drama queen over the whole thing.

  2. Lol, imagine trying to sleep being bounced so hard, thats fun for play ,but a swaying motion has been the ideal even in the new baby swings, they go back and forth instead of bouncing. She will figure it out.Shes a good mom, born natural😇😊

    1. Apparently Jinger didn't understand the term rocking a baby to sleep. lol

  4. Oh my goodness ! I wanted to reach right through the tv and have her stop bouncing that baby like a ball. That can not be relaxing for anyone. She was making me I'll with the up & down. It struck me funny that she acted like she never held or took care of a baby before ? But really that bouncing is not healthy - I sure hope she has found a more gentle rocking motion. That action would sure keep me awake and rearrange my insides. Hope they have both settled down & relaxed.

    1. Okay, so I guess I'm not the only one who felt really bad for the baby.

    2. Geez enough mommy shaming! She’s a first time Mom with a bunch of cameras pointed at her!

    3. Thank you....folks are always so willing to give unasked for advice.

  5. There's no need to bounce Felicity so much, crying or not. Jinger seemed to be overreacting to a couple of minor, quiet sounds that babies make. It doesn't mean something is wrong just because they're not completely silent.

    1. This was video of them trying to get her to settle down and fall asleep at bedtime, not overreacting because she was making noises. It also was not Jinger thinking something was wrong, she was doing what Jeremy says works to get her to sleep at night.

    2. They seemed pretty relaxed to me -just discussing the typical topics of adjusting to life with a newborn.

  6. I love those sweatpants Jinger was wearing...does anyone know someplace they are sold or what kind they are? I've been looking for a pair for forever!!

    1. They are sold at kohls and I believe they are adidas brand

  7. I guess babies may like it, but I wouldn't want to be jostled around that much. Maybe try a smoother motion?

    1. It was pretty jouncy, but from what Jeremy said it sounds like it works for her.

  8. Bless their hearts. May the Almighty give his family the much needed rest they need. May Flicity sleep through the night so Jeremy and sleep can meet once again.

  9. The most enjoyable part of the show was Ben teaching the younger Duggars. It was refreshing to see something new and different for a change. Lets have more of these on the show.

  10. To everyone freaking out over Felicity being over-bounced, she is obviously fine, we’ve all seen recent pictures of her.

  11. Y'all are being so,judgemental. She is a first time mom. She'll get it.

  12. I went through the same thing with my daughter. I had to walk a route around the house like an animal pacing in a zoo every night.
I wonder if Jinger is totally off any and all sources of caffeine. The baby might be getting some and that would be powerful to keep the baby awake and alert.

  13. I appreciate them showing the difficulties. Seemed like the other couples were only complaining about diapers.

  14. For all you expert baby whisperers...my daughter loved being bounced. Nothing relaxed her quicker. It was exhausting actually and we would have to take turns bouncing her until she fell asleep. I imagine Jinger tried many different methods of moving and found bouncing to be the one Felicity liked best.

    1. Thank you. So many "new mom" "doing it wrong" comments! They're all different. My first-born used a bouncy seat to get to sleep. (I'd probably get scolded for that now, but 20 years ago we did it.)

  15. That part was uncomfortable to watch. I’m sure by now though they have it down to a s science. I had many lessons to learn too with my first child.

  16. Why isn't she nursing the baby in her bed and then putting it in a cradle once it falls asleep next to the bed... It's not a big deal

  17. Felicity put a barrier between Jeremy and sleep? Um. Yeah. She’s a newborn, but the whiners seem to be Jinger and Jeremy😬

  18. All I can think of is what's happening to the stomach contents when all that bouncing occurs, or how much nausea it could produce.

    1. I'm pretty sure Jinger would know pretty fast if that were an issue!!

    2. I would never bounce a "fully loaded" baby! You know exactly what can happen!!

    3. Fully loaded baby LOL!

  19. I know Jinger is a great mommy and means well but she was bouncing Felicity like a basketball!! Lol..it was making me dizzy. Bless her she will get the hang of it. It is challenging taking care of a newborn as you never know quite why they are crying and they usually come into the world with days and nights mixed up.

  20. I get the impression that Jeremy might want to limit the family size to 2 or 3 at most. Yes he's smitten with his daughter, but no he doesn't seem to enjoy what comes with having a newborn.
