Jessa & Ben's First Kiss

Wishing you and your family a Blessed Easter!

For those of you who were unable to watch Jessa's wedding episode, we have another clip to share. After listening to Pastor Schadt's sermon, reciting their wedding vows and exchanging rings, pouring their unity sand, and praying with their parents, Jessa and Ben were pronounced husband and wife. But they ran out of the sanctuary before sharing their first kiss. Meanwhile, Pastor Schadt explained the couple's decision to the shocked audience. Video below:

  5. As Christians, should be really care about their first kiss? This is becoming ridiculous.

  6. I do like the idea of saving the first kiss but I don't like how much they focus on it. It seems like every episode all they talk about is waiting for the first kiss. They seem to focus so much intensity on it. And when they finally kiss they make it such a big production with everyone staring and talking about it.

  7. I was so happy to hear the pastor tell them it isn't wrong to kiss before marriage becausr it is not. wish the Duggsrs would get off this obsession with so many rules. All their focus on rules takes the focus off of the message of Jesus. They talk so much about "thou shalt nots.". We hardly ever hear them mention Jesus and His sacrifice for our sins.

  8. Glad they thought about kissing in private... It is something very special they can only truly and fully enjoy alone. When the couples kiss in front of everyone for the first time they are super nervous because everyones eyes are on them and they don't want to look like they are doing it wrong... So not what they need to be feeling in that moment

  9. I would want my first kiss in private and not on stage in front of a thousand or so people.

  13. Love this!! I would never ever want my first kiss in front of the world. I think this is a positive thing for all other couples that share that belief but dont want there first kiss to be witnessed!

  14. As much as I love the Duggars, I must say their weddings look like a bunch of kaos. I could not stop laughing when the whole wedding party just took off out of the church, and then Derek grabbing Jill and kissing her on the way out.

  15. I love that they were alone and private for their first kiss! So sweet and special. I'm saving my first kiss for marriage- I just might do that too ;)

  17. Nice they had their first kiss in private. But I thought the rushing out right after they were pronounced husband and wife was a bit odd. I like to see blessings and prayers for the newly married couple before they leave the church for the first time and family/friends greeting the couple on the way out. And when do they sign the register? The Duggers sure do weddings their own way!

    1. In our area it is customary to do the same thing. The pastor or grandfather prays over the couple during the ceremony and after they are pronounced husband and wife the festivities begin! We all run out of the church and make a receiving line at the reception and greet guests as they come in there. It runs a lot smoother and goes a little faster and encourages people not to linger in the church too long. A lot Of church's are rented so they want you out of there at a certain time :-) the duggar weddings are very similar to what happens in our area! hope this helps. :-)

    2. Also we usually sign everything after the reception before we go to leave! :-) that way we have time to spend with everyone :-)

  18. Why do so many people only compliment the Duggars on their looks, especially Jessa's? It is very shallow. They are being treated like hollywood celebrities.

  19. I commend them for this decision. I would want to do it the same way that they did. :)

  21. I have a question.... I know Jill wanted to be barefoot for her wedding. Did Jessa also do the same? You can see her walking barefoot into their rehearsal dinner. Just curious if she also decided to walk down the aisle barefoot and if so, is there a particular reason or significance to this or just personal preference? Thanks! :) beautiful ceremony, dress, hair, flowers by the way.

  22. Everyone would love to know the name of the song played during the sand pouring???

  23. On the episode all about Jessica, what is all the talk about a bachelor/bachelorette party? A pre-wedding get together would've been a better name for it. Real bachelor/bachelorette parties are a whole other story.
