Duggar Update

The Duggars are still hard at work on the campaign trail. Earlier this month, Jim Bob took twelve of the children to Iowa to show their support for Santorum. He and Michelle then drove down to South Carolina with John-David, Jill, Jessa, and Jinger and were met by Josh and Anna (along with Mackynzie and Michael). The family is currently campaigning in Florida, where they are enjoying sun and temperatures in the low 80s.

“We’ve been spending a lot of time on the bus,” Jim Bob tells Politico in a recent interview. The Duggars are also in constant communication with their younger children, who are at home with Grandma and Jana. They have also flown back and forth from Springdale, Arkansas, multiple times.

  2. Is there any information as to where in Jacksonville Florida the Duggars will be rallying for Rick Santorum? I have been wanting to meet them for years and this seems to be the first real opportunity my family and I will have.
    Thanks, Melissa

  5. sorry, but all those little children at home with grandma and jana need their mother. jana is doing a great job raising them, but she's not their mother. very important at their ages to be with their parents.

    1. I absolutely agree. I travel the world with my thirteen. Even as a business owner they are my priority and focus.

  7. Hi Melissa,

Santorum will participate in a CNN debate at the University of North Florida (in Jacksonville) on Thursday at 8:00 PM. There is no word yet on whether the Duggars will be present.

    Have a wonderful evening,
    Lily and Ellie

  8. Michelle can't seem to take care of more than a couple of her own children on her own, but sees no problem leaving thirteen home with Jana and Grandma Duggar? I guess traveling around the country with Jim Bob and a few of their children campaigning is more important than spending time with all of her children. It is sad that none of the children seem to get much quality one on one time with either of their parents even when they are home. Jim Bob seems to get most of Michelle's attention and affection.

  9. Oh I hope the rumors aren't true!
Could it be that with loss of Jubliee and the Duggars campiagning for Rick Santorum that the family and TLC are delaying new shows?
    Thank you for the updates!

  10. I find it sad that they're racist and homophobic and can't accept the fact that not every woman wants a lot of kids like Michelle. Who cares if women use BC? Who cares if two girls or two guys want to date? Who cares if Susie only wants one child?

  11. I would love to meet the Duggar Family--I really love the way you are teaching your children responsibility and respect for each other--you are the best show on TV. I also love the way you treat each other as Husband and Wife, what a testimony to how marriage should work. I live in the Sarasota area so where can I find you guys?

  12. I'm concerned with the tone of Anonymous - January 24, 2012 7:56 AM. I don't think the family has ever said or acted that they believe any of these things. This is pure gossip and negative. I guess I'll have to dig out my google account ID to start using, so that my posts are with my own ID and won't be possibly mistaken to be from this other Anonymous!

  13. I'm sad that Jim Bob was saying that, that trans gender child couldn't be in the girl scouts, the world has to learn to accept people. Why can't everyone just see the person, the soul, not all the other stuff.

  14. I think its wonderful the family is showing their children how important it is to vote. They are all so wonderful and please keep us updated on when the show will return to TLC.

    Thanks Kristen

  15. Hi Rhonda,

The Duggars often don't announce their whereabouts to the public, but when they do, we post them.

They will be at First Baptist Church (3000 Orange Blossom Dr) in Naples tomorrow at 9AM for a Santorum rally.

Hope you can make it! Have a great evening,
    Lily and Ellie

  18. To anonymous at 11:29 a.m. What is great about this country of ours is that we can say what we want; feel how we want; and portray opinions without backlash. I bet you don't have any objections to reading a post that says, "The Duggars are wonderful parents that spend quality time with all their children." In my opinion, that is not a true statement because there is no way on God's green earth you can spend quality time with 19 alive children. Ah--this great country of ours. Please don't let people such as yourself force censorship.

  19. What is sad is that day care statistics are provided on this web site, but I guess being in the care of siblings and grandparents doesn't qualify as being in day care (and night care)? Show us some statistics as to how much actual time the Duggar PARENTS give to each child, then I might pay more attention to the other statistics.

  20. I have mixed feelings about the Duggars being on the campaign trail. I feel Michelle deserves to get away for a while after the loss of Jubilee and it gives her a chance to spend time with the older children.
Yet, I feel she needs to be home with the younger children to meet their needs, especially homeschooling.
There was no homeschooling in September when they were in Europe and Israel, probably little in December with the miscarrige and some of the school age children went to Iowa. While their trips my be educational, they do not take the place of actual education.
And how can Josh maintain his carlot being gone so much?

  21. Just wondering, what daycare statistics are you referring to, Anonymous?

  22. good for you guys! i admire your whole family.

  23. Anonymous, I think it is a mistake to say that no homeschooling took place in September. I can't imagine anyone learning MORE than what one would learn through world travel - certainly not from a textbook.

Also, I think that going to Iowa to be a part of the presidential election would be very educational.

We all have our different educational philosophies, but I believe that children learn best by doing.
