  3. How exciting!! I live in the metro DC area, so I'm dying to hear where they actually are living! If there is something this area needs its someone who has family values like the whole Duggar clan! This is excellent news and I hope that God blesses them and in turn makes them a blessing to others. I have a friend who works at the FRC so of course I will be pumping her to let me know if there are any Duggar sightings! lol Praise the Lord!

  5. How's THAT big news?? It was in the media weeks ago, even before the episode about a ' job offer'. The only reason it would be big news is if you had your head ino the sand or have been living under a rock for the past few months.

  6. I heard somewhere that the FRC is actually classified as a hate group... just saying.

  7. You want proof this whole job with family research council had been in the media for weeks? Here it is:

Sorry Lily and Ellie, but lately I feel let down by the standard of is blog. Firstly a friend of Josh And Anna broke the news of Anna's pregnancy weeks, if not months before the so called 'official announcement' on the today show. ( that friend really should of kept silent if they didnt want it t be general knowledge) then followed by a dissapointing gender reveal before the even ore dissapointing gender reveal show. And now this so called 'BIG NEWS' which has already been circulating for weeks even if it wasn't official. The whole situation has been handled badly not just by TLC, But by this blog as well. I love the Duggars and this blog is normally great, but I have found the opposite lately.

  10. Wow that is a big jump from owning a car lot to being an executive director in DC! I'm sure Jim Bob can give Josh advice from his years in politics. When I looked up the Family Research Council, it said there was a shooting there last year because over political views. I hope Josh stays safe! I hope Anna finds a lovely home, she deserves some rest after such an eventful few months.

  11. Wonderful!! I assumed it must be a political position. Praise God it is!

  16. Why on earth would Josh & Anna seem clueless about housing costs in DC? It seems to me that educating themselves about that would be part of the job decision making process early on. IMO, TLC made Josh & Anna look like a couple of naïve youngsters from the backwoods that rarely see the light of day, and yet Josh is supposed to be taking a job as an Executive Director? Irresponsible and ridiculous that an Executive Director would be unaware of what his housing costs would be as he is preparing to move his family away from the only home he's ever known. Point being, I'm sure they did in fact educate themselves and were in fact fully aware of all the options. There's been a lot of this going on lately. I've seen Michelle clearly portrayed at times as a mom with her head in the clouds, delegating anything and everything to her "older children" while she exercises, goes to speaking engagements and on trips with her hubby. It actually angers me that it looks as if TLC is staging and editing this show to the point of mockery. I'd like Jim Bob & Michelle to take a step back and reevaluate how the show is portraying their family, and take action if need be to get the show back to its roots- serving as an encouragement and ministry rather than a form of entertainment that needs to "bring in the ratings." P.S.: Love The Duggars.

    1. AGREE A MILLION TIMES! Thank you for saying this. I love the Duggars, too - but more the way they used to be.

  17. Somebody has setup a petition to attempt to cancel the Duggar's show due to Josh new job. Pass the word that we support the Duggar's despite employment choices.

  18. Congratulations and Good Luck on their new adventure in Washington D.C. I wish Anna and their children best of luck and no matter how far they moved family will always be there when they need them. They will make new memories in their new hometown!!!!

  19. The FRC is a controversial, right-wing organization. I am curious as to what qualifications, besides his upbringing, Josh has to be hired as an Executive Director (unless many new employees are just given that title). Since, he does not hold any advanced degrees; will FRC provide training? Josh could easily come across some individuals/groups who do not agree with the FRC and use strong vernacular to argue their position! At this time, Josh seems venerable in such an organization that supports heated, political topics. I wish him luck!

    1. When you're standing in the fear of The Lord, and asking daily for his wisdom, there is no need for a degree. Josh is well-versed in politics. :)

    2. Not to mention that we need more men to stand up for America, with the way it's headed. PTL for this new position. No degree needed to stand for truth :)

    3. I hate to bust your bubble, but you need to be trained in speaking and rhetoric to argue effectively. Being homeschooled and owning a car lot isn't going to give you those skills.

    Hi Anonymous,

Sorry we have not met your expectations. When it comes to big announcements, we respect the Duggars' privacy and announce when they want to make it official.

  23. IMO, nothing wrong with this post announcing the "Big News"...yes, it has been well known that Josh had indeed accepted this job for awhile, and was even just announced on an episode of the show, however, many have been wondering how soon Josh would officially start working and how fast the move would be made. Next week is even quicker than most would expect, esp. right after the birth.
I definitely agree with TLC looking to be botching a lot of the Duggars "press". It's all too obvious, at least to me, they're poor coordination of Duggar news all in the name of ratings.

  24. I agree with the comments left at June 17, 2013 at 8:40 PM. The comments we post to your blog don't get posted. And its true, the very president of the company makes annoucements and you don't have it posted because it did not come from a duggar mouth. If thats the case then be upfront and state, "no news will be posted unless it comes from a duggar mouth"

  25. Sounds like Josh is going to be working for a hate group. How will they deal with it if their new neighbors are gay or send their children to public school? This group is against those two things as well as many others. I wondered how Josh was able to get an executive position, but after researching the group he will be working for, his upbringing makes him qualified.

    1. One can disagree with those lifestyles. but they can show love to those people yet not agree with them. And there is nothing wrong with defending your own convictions. What,Gay groups are allowed even encouraged to defend their beliefs and a conservative group comes along and disagree's with that groups view. and the gay rights group are told to speak louder and the conservatives are not only labeled a hate group, but they are bullied into being silenced? sheesh! what ever happened to lets agree to disagree and still be on civil speaking terms without labels or name calling? good grief! what a two faced warped society we live in!

  26. As for the FRC being classified as a hate group, so are pro-lifers and the Catholic Church. Why? Because all of those groups stand up for life, family and natural law.

Regarding Josh, much can be learned on the job and through experience. Not everything has to have a degree to back it up.

  27. I totally agree with hello. I hope that living in DC is an eye-opening experience for the Duggars in every way.

  28. The FRC is classified as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center, which is a far-left organization that mud slings at conservative, pro-family, pro-life organizations. It is unfortunate that the SPLC not only hatefully and deceitfully labels groups with which they disagree, but it also encourages violence against these organizations. The shooter at the FRC got his "information" from the SPLC before the shooting.
It takes guts for Josh to take this job with this organization when there are known enemies. Hopefully they will stay safe!

  29. This is extremely disappointing. FRC is a hate group that hurts families.

  30. What would Josh do if one of his sons turns out to be gay? Can you ask him?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Guess what - just because one is homeschooled does not mean they do not receive training in public speaking and rhetoric. That's a curriculum decision made by their parents. You don't know what Josh has been trained in.
