Festival of Lights

Duggars in Jerusalem: September 2011
Happy Hanukkah to all of our readers who celebrate!

Hanukkah (also spelled Chanukah) is known as the Festival of Lights and lasts eight days. "Hanukkah" means "to dedicate," and the holiday commemorates the re-dedication of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem.

The Duggars traveled to Israel in September 2011 to fulfill Grandma Duggar's lifelong dream of visiting the Holy Land.

  1. Thank you! You can find it in the bible in John 10:22 known as the Feast of Dedication (Hanukkah is Hebrew for Dedication). The historical account can be found in Maccabees which is in the 1611 KJV. Our family is blessed to celebrate this miraculous military victory won by God's people who gave their lives to uphold His commandments, less than 200 years before our Savior was born. :)
