Duggar Wedding #7...Coming Soon

Josiah Duggar and Lauren Swanson engagement

It has been just over eight weeks since Josiah Duggar and Lauren Swanson announced their engagement. In Duggar time, that means the wedding is likely just around the corner. Below is a list of the approximate engagement lengths of the other Duggar couples. Jim Bob and Michelle have had by far the longest engagement in the family. Their kids, however, have only waited a maximum of 15 weeks.

When do you think Josiah and Lauren will tie the knot?

Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth: 12 weeks
Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo: 14 weeks
Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald: 11 weeks
Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard: 12 weeks
Josh Duggar and Anna Keller: 13 weeks
Jim Bob Duggar and Michelle Ruark: 7 months

 Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo

As most of you know, Jinger Duggar announced her engagement to pastor and former soccer player Jeremy Vuolo last week. Since today is Throwback Thursday, we thought it would be fitting to share a few throwback photos of Jinger.

This one shows Jinger as a young toddler. Do you think her facial features have changed or stayed the same?

Remember when the Duggars built their house ten years ago? All the siblings, including Jinger and Joseph, pitched in to help...

The Duggars have taken dozens of mission trips to Central America over the years. This photos is from their Christmas 2008 voyage.

Anna Duggar's Chicken Etti Recipe

As requested by a reader, here is the recipe for Chicken Etti, the dish that Anna Duggar made for Josh's sisters on the last episode of "19 Kids and Counting." As seen on TV, cheese biscuits go great with this delicious recipe!

Chicken Etti
  • 1 package spaghetti noodles
  • 3 cups diced, cooked chicken
  • 1/4 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 pound cheese (Velveeta)
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
Directions:
  1. Boil spaghetti noodles, and put them into a large bowl.
  2. Add chicken, green pepper, and chicken broth.
  3. In a smaller bowl, combine the cheese, diced tomatoes, and cream of chicken soup. Stir, and melt mixture in the microwave.
  4. Pour the cheese mixture into the large bowl, and mix.
  5. Pour the mixture into a casserole dish.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
Bon Appetit!

"Duggars Fly South" Recap

Tonight on 19 Kids and Counting, "Duggars Fly South"...

What can be better than sunny Florida during the middle of winter? How about taking a ride in a teeny tiny airplane in sunny Florida. When Josh and Anna took Mackynzie to visit Anna's family for Christmas, Josh took a big risk by going for a ride with one of the Kellers' friends, who also happens to be a pilot. To convince his wife, Josh told her that the pilot had flown thousands of times and had not lost any passengers. Let's just say that that didn't go over well, but Anna finally did let him go.

After the sun began to set and the two weren't back yet, Anna and the family became a little worried. Their hearts stopped when the plane looked like it was crashing and took off again before landing. When Josh was back on the ground, Anna's concerns were put at ease, and the family was able to spend a happy first Christmas with Mackynzie. A highlight for Josh and Anna was going back to Gator Landing, the restaurant where Josh proposed.

Take a Trip with Josh and Anna

"19 Kids and Counting!" is tonight at 9/8 Central on TLC:

Watch as Josh and Anna Duggar take their daughter Mackynzie on her first trip down to Anna's hometown in Florida. If you've never met Anna's parents and family, now is the time! Josh and Anna will also point out special sites from their trip a year and a half ago when they got engaged.

Stop by the blog tonight to read highlights from the show and to post comments telling others what you think!

A Real Estate Miracle!

To provide for their brood, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar have owned several, unique businesses over the years. As newlyweds, Jim Bob worked full time at a grocery store, and Michelle played a few different roles, including substitute teacher and Girl Scout leader. Desiring to spend more time together, the couple started a car lot business, which is what their oldest son Josh and his wife Anna do now. Jim Bob then started a towing business, which he sold several years later.
At that time, the Duggars got involved in real estate. After buying their first plot of land, Jim Bob saw another for sale and could immediately tell that it was a bargain. The couple had committed to stay out of debt, so taking out a loan to pay the $110,000 was not an option, but it had such potential! Over a period of a few weeks, the price dropped by $45,000! The original price was extremely low for a plot of land in that area, and now it was almost half that! But they still did not have quite enough, so the seller agreed to wait until Jim Bob could sell enough cars to purchase the lot. Less than a year later, the Duggars were handed the deed.

The Duggars Share: Josie's Future

Looking back on December 10th, Jim Bob and Michelle admit that it was one of the scariest moments of their lives. Being told on that day that their 19th child needed to be delivered within half an hour was difficult news.
Jim Bob says that doctors have told them to "never trust a preemie." Although Josie is doing well now, she must remain in the hospital until she is strong. The hospital predicts that she will be send home near her mid-March due date.
Jim Bob and Michelle and their brood of 17 remain in Little Rock in a house that they have leased in order to be close to Josie. Josh, the eldest Duggar child, stayed behind in Tontitown with his wife Anna and daughter Mackynzie. Michelle shares her joy at seeing her daughter grow. "It is amazing how they can sustain life at such a tiny, tiny age!"

Joise Update From the Duggars!

The moment we have all been waiting for!
Josie Brooklyn Duggar, the 19th child of Jim Bob and Michelle, celebrates her 7th week of life. She was born fifteen weeks early at 1 pound 6 ounces due to her mother's preeclampsia. Josie is still in the NICU at the Arkansas Children's Hospital, but her family is thankful that she has improved and is doing very well. Josie was just recently taken off a ventilator and is drinking breast milk through a tube. Blessed to have access to modern medicine, Jim Bob told People magazine, "We are so grateful for the ability to help her." Jill, one of the oldest Duggar children, excitedly shared what it was like to meet her baby sister. "She is so precious!...Her whole hand can barely wrap around my pinkie!"
