This just in! One of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar's married children just announced a pregnancy. Congratulations, Jill and Derick Dillard! When Baby Dillard arrives in July 2017, there will a total of eight grandchildren in the Duggar family. (Jessa Seewald is due with her second child on February 2nd.)
Watch the Dillards' announcement video below.
Congratulations. Soooo happy for you!!!! I'm glad they waited until they were away from the Zika zone for three months before becoming pregnant. Praying for a safe and healthy pregnancy and baby.
ReplyDeleteUmm they didn't wait. They arrived home in mid August and if she's two months pregnant then you do the math.
DeletePraise the Lord!!! I hope this means you will stay in the states!! Congratulations!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Jill and Derick I'm so excited for you guys
ReplyDeleteCongrats, but I wish the family (pretty much all of the children) would stop mentioning adoption so much. It feels rather dishonest since they know that adoption is unlikely if they never use birth control, but they're still taking advantage of the fact that people think adoption is wonderful. So I wish they would either stop talking about it until it is more feasible or follow through with their words and actually do it!!
ReplyDeleteAs someone who can ONLY add to her family through adoption because of medical issues, I wholeheartedly agree. I know plenty of people who adopted for reasons other than infertility, but they were intentional about it and used birth control if pregnancy was still possible. It just feels naive and disingenuous on their part.
DeleteI so agree with you!
DeleteAs an adoptive mother to two boys, I sincerely hope that one of the Duggar children DO adopt!! :) I also hope that this moves from a (seemingly) disingenuous talking point to a priority for someone in the family. As controversial as this may seem, I also pray that the first Duggar to adopt is not doing so because of an infertility issue. Oh, how the secular press would have a (negative) field day. That's not to say if one of the Duggars is inferior they shouldn't adopt, it's just that I hope they don't play adoption as a "solution" to infertility, it's not. Adoption is all about loving a child for who they are, and about guiding them into who God has ordained them to be! I think adoption is also a wonderful example of pure love, kind of like how Christ loves the Church. Anyhow, if the Duggars really are looking to be a good example of selfless and pure love, adoption is the way to go! I also hope one Duggar will consider a stateside adoption. So many kids in foster care need and deserve a good home, like the Duggar's could give! I know that if this type of adoption happens, I'll personally have a new favorite Duggar family offshoot!! Yay!! Until then, maybe its best not to tout the adoption "line". It's getting a little old, and I consider myself a huge Duggar fan!!! ❤️️
DeleteYou are so right in this. Put your money where your mouth is or stop talking about it!
DeleteAgreed.
DeleteYikes in my (very long) post (adoptive mom here!) autocorrect changed the word infertile to inferior. In no way are infertile women inferior. That was just a very bad autocorrect occurrence there! Blessings to all, and glad I'm not alone in the feeling that IF a Duggar adoption occurs it would be marvelous... until then, the talk with no action is coming across strangely.
DeleteCongratulations to all 3 of you God Bless.
ReplyDeletel am very happy for them. Exciting times for the Duggar family. It is amazing that they have been able to go on a mission and spread religion and faith but it is time to make his family a priority.
ReplyDeletemaking their own family a no 1 proiority is a true must for derick and jill keeping each other healthly and whole raise their childern in a healthly safe home
DeleteAgreed but I hope they feel the same as you do.
DeleteAre they not going back to Central America now? I hope it's a girl!
ReplyDeleteIf you were pregnant would you return to a place where zika virus is high?
DeleteAWW! YAY!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Jill & Derick! Hope all goes well for them. Hopefully they will stay in the USA now!
ReplyDeleteWell good luck to them. What good timing. There goes any need to go back to Central America. I suspect it's the reason they came back in the first place, because Jill didn't want to get pregnant while out of the country. I just heard that Zika can stay in a mother's system for 7 months, even if there are no symptoms.
ReplyDeleteCongratulation Jill and Derek. Looking forward to catching up with the fam on Counting On.....
ReplyDeletecongrats on your new little arrival coming what a blessing
ReplyDeleteGood news! I think we all knew though:-) I had thought she was waiting the full two years to increase her chances of a successful VBAC but I was wrong. Best of luck to them. I wish them way less drama this time!
ReplyDeleteIt will be over 2 years by the time she is due. Isreal will be 2 in April
DeleteThe two years statistic isn't really based on fact. Most doctors recommend 18 months-2 years from birth to birth. I hope she does get her vbac though. It will be interesting to watch it unfold.
DeleteCongratulations.This is so exciting.
ReplyDeleteWhat day is she due?
ReplyDeleteJill is due in July.
DeleteOk, I'm a fan here, but I'm gonna b Jeckyl and Hyde here for a minute.First, no surprise.Second, I really hope they waited for the safe alloted time after returning from a Zika virus infestation or that would be seriously irresponsible. Knowone can say she did it on purpose so as not to go back to CA, cause we all know babies one after another is the norm for them, she may have just tried a little harder to get pregnant because we all know she wasn't truly happy there and we all saw this coming. So yeah, no big surprise at all.I just really hope they don't decide to leave it up to God and return and take a chance...that would be outrageous, and a BIG mistake, not to mention unforgivable to most, and they certainly don't need anymore negative press at this moment. I truly wish them the best in this iffy moment as we will never know all the details of past intent or future intent.Pray for the best anyways.Boy, oh boy, I can see the future posts from the disgruntled already, hold tight folks because I'm sure it will be a doozy...lol😉
ReplyDelete"Expecting" announcement, YES, but no announcement about when they're returning to their "mission"? NO.
ReplyDeleteThey are expecting a baby. Put yourself in her shoes. Would you return and put yourself and baby in a zika virus hot zone. No. And Honestly she looks healthier and happier. Just be happy for them
DeleteYay! Congratz!
ReplyDeleteGuess this is why they came back and stayed back. Although the other women Jill knew in Central America seemed to be capable of having babies while still in Central America. What about them? They have no other "home" to go back to. :(
ReplyDeleteAs long as you first shoo the scorpions and tarantulas and wild cats away, it should be OK to give birth there. Women have been doing it for thousands of years there.
DeleteCongrats to them and big brother not really a surprise many followers already had a hunch from the recent pictures and posts.
ReplyDeleteIf she is due in July, she is only two months along. So there is no way any of us could have known by looking at any of the photographs.
DeleteShe has barely been pregnant 5 minutes so all those hunches were probably wrong!
DeleteYeah!!!! Congrats Jill and Derrick!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is wonderful news!! I have 8 grandchildren (5 boys and 3 girls) two of which were born this year!!! They are so much fun!! I am sure their little boy will do great as a big brother!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Jill & Derrick!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! We are expecting our fifth in July too. Very exciting.
ReplyDeleteYaaaaaay!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations 👶
So happy for you!
Congratulations to you.....lovely for all the cousins to arrive together
ReplyDeleteI AM SO EXCITED!!! Maybe this is why they are still in the states. I kind of hope that they stay until after the baby is born. I hope Jessa and Jill both have girls this time.
ReplyDeleteIt will be nice that jill is home and will be there for jessa and jessa there for jill. Very nice
DeleteCongratulations! I am very excited for the both of you.
ReplyDeleteCongrats Jill and Derrick
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Jill and Derrick! May it be a healthy girl!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThey really look alike.
ReplyDeleteCongrats! Jill You say Israel will be a great big brother. Well, Derick will be a great father if he will only cut his hair, shave his beard and groom himself better. Hopefully the kids will not follow his example if he doesn't.
ReplyDeleteAwww, come on.. he looks fine. He's doing his own thing.
DeleteBeing a great dad has nothing to do with hair. It's about taking care of your family and loving them with all your heart.
DeleteCongratulations Jill, Derrick and little Israel on the blessing of a new baby for your family. If youre planning to go back to Central America is there any time that the doctors say that it is clear to go back with a new baby? That Zica Virus is really running rampent down there. Is there a time also, that it's more safe for Jill as well. Im sure she will be nursing the baby, so that's quite concerning, too. Im pretty sure Jill and Derrick came back to the states so she could get pregnant safely. I definitely will keep the entire Dillatd family.I hope you all stay in the States until after the baby is born and is at least 12 weeks old. May God continue to bless your family. May your holiday season be wonderful...Namaste and Merry Christmas from Colorado
ReplyDeletecongratulations so happy for them
ReplyDeleteWow! That is exciting news!! Congratulations on baby #2 :)
ReplyDeleteI just wish Dereck would explain WHY he decided to grow his hair long.
ReplyDeleteBecause he (and probably Jill) likes it that way.
DeleteI doubt Jesus had to explain why his hair was long.
DeleteMaybe because he decided to do it? I don't understand why his hair length is such an issue for people. How is his hair length keeping you from living your daily life? It's not. Just because you don't like or agree with his hair length doesn't mean you deserve an explanation on why he let his hair grow longer. Bigger fish to fry people.
DeleteI'm happy for them but Derrick looks unwell. Compared to what he looked like when they were expecting Israel to now is a big change. I pray that he is getting good medical advice and doctors can get him on the mend soon.
ReplyDeleteWow! That's a belly for (probably) barely 4 weeks.
ReplyDeletePeople really should think before they hit "send"
DeleteNo 'cute' little 'surprise' announcement?!
ReplyDelete"Whenever we got a positive pregnancy test I took like 3" Did she have a miscarriage or something?
ReplyDeleteWell for the next BIG chunk of his life there will be a baby there so doesn't really make a difference...
ReplyDeleteCongrats! I hope it is a girl😊
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Jill and Derrick and Israel, too. God Bless the Dillards and the new addition, too.
ReplyDeleteJoan,Marion and Marilyn
I wonder how Anna feels about all this. Her sister lives in Zambia with her missionary husband in VERY frugal conditions and give birth to her last 2 children there I think. Meanwhile Jill and Derrick enjoy many amenities in El Salvador such as a big house with appliances, and come back for months at a time. If I were Anna I would have a hard time hearing them complain so much knowing that my own sister is in such harsh conditions. I don't think everyone is cut out for missionary life, but they should stop taking donations if they are not returning shortly.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy for them! I love this couple! I just pray they stay in the U.S. now. It worries me when they are in Central America. It's so dangerous.
ReplyDeleteI'm really happy for them! And now theyhave a reason not to go back to central America - just as Jill wanted!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations ❤️
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your new blessing! But really please consider having your baby in a hospital; much more safer, as you have already realized. God bless you!
ReplyDeletecongrats beautiful family. dont worry to go back to Central America, God loves you and love the Salvador people. Dont worry about Zika or anything else. Belive in the power of obedience , the same God that be your family safe in America (north), can preserve your family in El Salvador. Be Brave!
ReplyDeleteThere is still a huge chance that Jill could have zika since it has no symptoms sometimes and is in your system for months. She's crazy
ReplyDeleteWhat about zika!? She should of waited
ReplyDeleteCongratulations. But what is wrong with Derick's appearance?? He has changed considerably. Jill, please get him to shave and cut his hair. Can't stand to look at him. Don't know how you do it. He used to be well groomed and looked so much better.
ReplyDeleteHe has the boning and facial structure of Abraham Lincoln.
DeleteThat's kind of mean. Just because you don't care for his long hair doesn't mean he should cut it. It's not your hair.
DeletePerhaps they wouldn't think you looked so good either.....your comment is rude!
DeleteI agree with you, but every time I say something like that people on here all jump down my throat.
DeleteCongrats from Holland! We were expecting twins in June, but unfortunately there was no heartbeat :'(
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry for your loss ((hug))
DeleteSo sorry!!!
DeleteI'm so sorry. Praying for you.
DeleteOh I'm so sorry for the loss of your little ones. May God grant you comfort and peace in your time of loss.
DeleteWhy on earth do you tell a 20 month old he is going to be a big bro in like 7 months. Israel would have no clue or any awareness of time or biology. He is a toddler. He does not need to know a thing untill much much later.
ReplyDeleteMost people get the older kid excited by saying he/she will be a big brother or sister.
DeleteWhile as a toddler Israel may not have much concept of time or what it means to be a big brother, and obviously the information will have to be repeated many times between now and July, there is nothing inherently wrong with telling him now. Each family must makenter their own decisioname about this.
DeleteWatch the "First Grandson" special from the first Duggar show, Anna spent time daily practicing and preparing 1 year old Mackynzie for baby Michael's birth and arrival
DeleteWe knew they were pregnant since they didn't go back to Centaur America right away. They were hanging in the USA way longer than most other missionaries do when on leave from the mission field.
ReplyDeleteThey hung out in the USA even when they were missionaries.
DeleteWonder if they will stay on in the 'guest house'? Where are Josh and Anna and their four living? Since the Duggars do the dorm thing, why isn't someone else living in the overly large house with Jill and Derrick? Wait, that actually makes sense. If Jessa and Ben move in, the girls can help each other and J&A can move back to the other house, getting Josh away from everyone else.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Derick and Jill praying for a smooth pregnancy and delivery and a healthy baby.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a healthy and uneventful pregnancy! Very happy for all 3 of you ( and the extended family).
ReplyDeleteI am really surprised that Jill & Derick continue to act like something major didn't happen to Dericks face. Everyone can see it. It's amazing to me that they pretend like nothing has changed and just expect no one to notice. All the while asserting themselves into the public eye. I mean, no one has to divulge personal details, but at least acknowledge the elephant in the room.
ReplyDeleteYes! I know people who had their jaw widened and they didn't look so different compared to what Derick looks. Plus his lost so much weight since the wedding, something's up. I'm a nurse btw
DeleteYes, I agree. Maybe parasites or something? I think it's wonderful Derick had his mouth fixed but I'm not a fan of the recent "caveman" look. He's a nice looking guy and needs to clean up a bit, in my opionion. He didn't have the long hair and scruffy beard before he and Jill married. Derick was better groomed then with a closer shaven beard. But congratulations on the baby announcement!!
DeleteCongrats!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Jill and Derick!! We're so excited for you all!! Praying for a healthy pregnancy a healthy mama!
ReplyDeleteInteresting the issue of returning to CA is not addressed. They do continue to solicit donations on their web site. Maybe Jill is happy now to stay here due to the pregnancy since you could tell she was very unhappy in CA.
ReplyDeletewhat about Jana?
ReplyDeleteI don't think Jana is pregnant.
DeleteWhy so obsessed with the pregnancy tests? If God is the one Who decides, why can't they relax about it instead of buying massive amounts of tests and continually using them?
ReplyDeleteGreat point!!!
DeleteIv noticed that. I thought it was abit weird when Anna was barely married for 4 months and was so upset she wasn't pregant yet she wouldn't look at her recent preg tests. What happened to letting God choose and waiting on his timing.
DeleteCONGRATS!!!!! GOD BLESS AND I PRAY WE HAVE A SAFE AND HEALTHY MOMMY AND NEW BABE.....MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL THE DUGGARS AND NEW FAMILY MEMBERS....
ReplyDeleteThis is Pastor Haley. I saw your picture and I know that you claim to be a missionary but I am very upset that you claim to preach the Bible yet you miss 1 Corinthians where it says it is a shame for a man to have long hair. I am ashamed of your representation of Christ.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on a precious gift! With love from Sweden.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on another precious
ReplyDeletelife.
Wise to return to America to get
pregnant. However, here in UK we were advised to wait 6 months to try as Zika virus can be undetected in the sperm for that long. There's always a risk though when getting pregnant that the baby may not be healthy for 1000s of reasons but sometimes wisdom needs to be heeded & trusting God we cant always have what we desire even though its possible. Hope
I really hope for the baby's sake and the high risk of zika (not to mention for last birth plan was a disaster) I hope she has a Dr monitoring her care with regular ultrasounds and tests. As Jessa didn't have an ultrasound until after 20 weeks which is quite unusual
