From time to time, Jinger and Jeremy Vuolo host members of the Duggar family on their podcast. This week, their guests were Jill and Derick Dillard. In this 50-minute episode, you will hear the parents of three discuss a variety of topics, including marriage, family life, and their future plans, as well as Derick's career and a situation that caused him to take a step back. After you listen, come back on here and share your thoughts.

Wow Jill and Derrick are always complaining about something. First they pressure her dad to give them the $179,000.00 they deserved so they could get a house and go to law school. Then he becomes a lawyer and has a great job and isn’t happy with that. They just seem like such a spoiled couple, always thinking things should be perfect and always demanding their own way. It was hard to listen to their responses .
ReplyDeleteBlessings to Jill, Derick and their boys.🙏
ReplyDeleteNice to see. Jill and Derick are a sincere, serious, focused couple.
ReplyDeleteI watched this the other day. Jill still interrupts derrick. Sad that they didn't say where and hoe Derrick is working now. Jill is still not able to handle her husband at a traditional job and can't be at home herself. Just my observations.
ReplyDeleteIt is so hard to listen to Derrick and Jill, it seems like they just can’t get their life together, all this continual therapy doesn’t seem to be working. Jill is fortunate to be from such a loving family, after all she put her parents through. It was sweet of Jinger to have her sister on the podcast, however the Dillards are not great role models and really had nothing to share.
ReplyDelete@ 1/23 10:22am All SHE put HER PARENTS through?!!! They raised her in that IBLP system. They made her do all those things whether she wanted to or not. They exposed her life to the world. They had a son in the house...I won't say more. You know. They made her have cameras in her face during her most personal times - her wedding, her births, trying to establish her life as a missionary. They made her go on camera for that infamous interview, crying, while her parents were to try to clear their own names! They never paid her for any of that until she threatened to take legal action! All she did was tell the truth in a book about what really happened to her. If you as a parent have nothing to hide, then a book shouldn't be a threat to you. I think Jill and Derick are role models. They got away from IBLP, got away from toxic family troubles, Derick got an education, a good solid one, they've gotten counseling, and they are building their lives back up and moving on independently. What's not to admire. Yes, they may still have politics that don't match everyone's, but they're trying to make a life for their children and not put them through any of what Jill went through. That's a huge step in the right direction.
ReplyDelete@ Jan. 23,10:22AM The Dillards have come a long way, IMO, and it seems to me that it's after what Jill's father and brother put them through. Derick is an attorney and spent a few years as a public prosecutor, which required long hours away from his family. They've faced the same challenges that many families do... working hard to provide for and raise a family. Now Derick has a teaching position in a local college so the pressure will be less. Jill stays home with the kids and homeschools. How is this not getting their lives together?
ReplyDelete7:13. You are 100% correct. First Jill is complaining about being home with three boys, then Derrick is complaining about the commute, then they both are complaining that they can’t see the therapist together because of Derrick job and commute. They just seem like it’s hard for them to get their life together, doesn’t seem like constant therapy is helping.
ReplyDeleteWhy isn’t Jill working as a Midwife anymore?
Delete@6:22 By your standards, 100% of families don't have their life together! Those things you listed sound perfectly normal.
Deleteshe was never a midwife just helped out sometimes
DeleteIt’s hard to say what’s going on in their lives. Being so indecisive and not being able to stay with the same job is telling. All this rehashing of them demanding money from her dad and Jill writing that book could be part of the problem, it’s hard to say, although I doubt if they feel any guilt. The rest of Jill’s siblings all seem to be going on and enjoying their lives.
ReplyDelete7:13. I felt the same way when I was listening to the video. You are right about Jill being the one who doesn’t want Derrick to have a traditional job. My husband had an hour and a half commute in Los Angeles bumper to bumper traffic to support his family, and never complained..neither did I.
ReplyDeleteCut Jill some slack... she had suffered a stillbirth.
