Baby Seewald #6 has a name! Jessa and Ben Seewald just made the announcement, in the fourth installment of their birth story. In part three, they revealed the gender (it's a boy). For the name, they chose Edward Owen Seewald. They chose Edward because they like the sound of it and because of its historical significance, and John Owen is one of Ben's favorite theologians. All four of their boys are named after prominent theologians. On another note, July is now the Duggars' biggest birthday month.
Where in the world were people getting Judah Benjamin?
ReplyDeleteThat was originally supposed to be Jackson's name back in 2004. AI probably ran together a bunch of articles about the Duggars and dredged up the "story" that Jessa's baby was named Judah Benjamin.
DeleteHow old is Jessa? Does she have time to have more? I hope so!
ReplyDeleteWhat a RUDE COMMENT.
DeleteJessa is 32. Yes, she very well could have a few more children.
DeleteA strange comment at any rate. Time will tell if she'll have anymore. But nothing wrong with wishing blessings on people.
Deleteaccording to them they picked the name for historical reasons i e king edward V1 of england there has actually been 8 kings called edward and they were kings of the united kingdom not just england should get their facts right before putting up a wrong post

ReplyDeleteGood name choice! Fits him well!
ReplyDeleteI like the name. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteThat’s a lot of W’s! One in the first, middle and last name. Very sweet little one!
ReplyDeleteI remember when new parents mailed printed announcements. The classy ones were simply engraved cards with the parents' names, and a smaller engraved card with the baby's name, tied on with either a small pink or blue ribbon. I miss those days. On the same topic, I'd be happy these days to receive a written thank-you for a gift. Nobody seems to do that any more either. People wonder where decency went. We let it get away by accepting bad changes without saying anything. So - I'm speaking up about 4-part video baby announcements put online for monetary gain from strangers, especially with no admission of or gratitude for that fact.
ReplyDeleteAgree August 13 @ 12;50 pm. It's all about the money and nothing is PRIVATE anymore. You said it well.
DeleteIt's obvious that Jessa tried very hard this delivery to maximize the financial return. Not just the videos, but the magazine story too.
Delete@2:42 True. When did everything become Look At Me Look At Meeeee? Are we not getting that emotional fulfillment anywhere but in public? Celebrity used to be reserved for people with true talent worth seeing or hearing about - singers, dancers, musicians, inventors, explorers, world problem-solvers, and so on. In some cases, that exposure backfired (Lindbergh baby kidnapping, various assassinations, etc.). Now everyone thinks they're important enough to be seen and heard for payment. Influencer? You're not influencing me, and I'm not impressed that some company gave you free merch in exchange for exposure. In fact, I question why some companies want to get involved with you like that, or why your values let them buy you.
DeleteYou are right. I never really gave it to much thought perhaps because its become so frequent that we become numb to it. If a persons newborn child becomes the parents source of income then the parents need to Reflect on their lives and get a legitimate job so their children can have a private life and don't have to bare the burden of paying the bills for parents. Integrity and good sense seem to be in short supply these days. Ridiculous!
DeleteI agree with the comment by 12:50 pm and the replies, 2:42pm and 1:17 pm. Thank you.
DeleteThis boy doesn't even know that his birth was filmed and posted in 4 parts for the world to see, on a platform that generates income for views. If he grows up and is OK with that, then so be it. He is part Duggar after all. But he might question his parents on their motives, and I pity them for the answer they will have to come up with then.
DeleteExploitation of child movie actors decades ago led to changes in the laws. I hope the same is done for children whose parents promote them these days. I hope social media companies crack down on this, and that the IRS looks at it, and that laws change to mandate the money earned (online) be held in trust for the child. Might not stop things cold, but might get some parents' attention.
