Duggar Grandbaby #39 is a...

It's a boy! Jessa and Ben Seewald welcomed their sixth child almost two weeks ago, and they just revealed the gender. Coming in at 10 pounds, this was Jessa's biggest baby yet. George Augustine Seewald, who turns two in December, was previously the biggest at 9 lbs 14 oz. Fern Elliana Seewald, who turned four on July 18th, was 8 lbs 5 oz. Ivy Jane Seewald, who is six years old and shares a birthday with Grandma Duggar, was 7 lbs 14 oz. Henry Wilberforce Seewald, who is eight, weighed 8 lbs 11 oz at birth, while Spurgeon Elliot Seewald, who will be 10 in November, weighed 9 lbs 11 oz.

Most of you are probably wondering what the Seewalds named their little guy. They haven't announced yet, but they will in part four of their birth story video series. Part three was just released and shows the kids visiting the hospital with Jim Bob Duggar, who shares that this baby is his 39th grandchild.

  1. They are really dragging this announcement on for to long

  2. We now know that Jessa’s new baby is a boy. But I’m still waiting to find out what the baby’s name is.

  3. A boy! This is great! Next let’s hope for two girls in a row and then two more boys in a row! Jessa does it well!

    1. 3:38 …and then end with 2 baby boys and she’ll have an even dozen. Cool! And hopefully by age 39!

    2. Let's hope no more.

    3. 9:52. We DO hope she has more. Lots more! Thank goodness for Christian Share Health Care, food stamps and WIC.

    4. Food stamps, WIC, lots more kids?!? Have what you can afford and then stop.

    5. 2:00 pm- Are you saying it's OK for them to rely on taxpayers to feed their many children? I really don't care how many children a couple has but they should not be relying on the public taxpayers to feed, diaper them. That's not being responsible parents.

    6. They wouldn't (openly) take gov't handouts but I could definitely see them taking church handouts like their parents did, or taking money directly from their parents. That TV money will go a long way, which is why it was taken while it was available, along with everything else donated during the show. Don't believe they were given things? Listen to Jinger tell about when they moved into the big house. It wasn't taxpayer donations but it was donations nonetheless.

  4. The unnecessary theatrics with this lady… sad

    1. You are right. Jessa and Ben should do what Josiah and Lauren do and share nothing of their lives with the public.

    2. I don't understand the mindset of someone who thinks the world is interested in a 4-part video birth and name announcement, spread out over days and days. I guess I'm just too normal, like the hundreds of millions of other people out there who wouldn't play such a game. Maybe someday Jessa will look back and realize how crazy she was to do such a thing. Or maybe the kids will ask her to explain herself and how she used their births to raise money. That will be a hard question to answer.

  5. the birthday list has a few missing to add up to 39. any way you can fill in the missing blanks for us? thank you

    1. Some of the Dugger children have chosen to have their lives be private now.

      Delete
    2. The four missing are one child from Joe and Kendra, and three from Josiah and Lauren they had another girl named Daisy,a boy named Ezra and a baby this year in February or March whose name initial is F as they are following the alphabet, they miscarried A and C but named them

    3. She can’t fill in the blanks when the parents have chosen to keep their kids out of the public eye

    4. 7:53 Yes you can. You just say #1, boy; #2 girl; #3 boy; and so on. You don't need to name names or give birthdays. If Jim Bob can say on camera that he has 39 grandkids, then someone can do a list like that. It's not putting anyone in the public eye.

      Delete
    5. The blanks would be Kendra/Joe's fourth and three of four of Lauren and Josiah's children. Both of those families have decided to be more private and no longer publicly announce the births of their children or be on social media.

      Delete
    6. Since Lauren & Josiah had Bella, this couple has welcomed three additional children, but have elected not to share the names, or birthdays, with the public. Since Kendra & Joseph had Brooklyn, this couple has welcomed one additional child, but have elected not to share the name, or birthday, with the public. These are the four children, which are currently missing from this blog's birthday list, and if you include these four children in your count, it should bring the total of Michelle & Jim Bob's grandchildren to 39.

  7. Wow! Way to drag this out! Just tell us already, Jessa!

  8. Why does it take over 2 weeks to announce that your baby has arrived? Then you don't tell the name. At this point, have lost any interest.

  9. I'm happy that George has a baby brother to play with and hope they become good friends. Can't wait to hear his name. The Seewald's are a loving family and are so blessed.

  10. So much for the idea that Jessa was too smart to show girl clothes and bows in her hospital bag. That wardrobe she packed gave it away weeks ago.

  11. Goodness me, that is a big newborn! George now has a playmate the same way his siblings do, so neat.

  12. I love your birth announcement, with information coming in different segments. It reminds me of your tradition to spread out the children birthday presents over the week. It is so fun to Spread out the Joy..looking forward to hearing the name choice.

    1. But fans have already been waiting for months since she announced she was expecting. Seems silly and disrespectful to actual fans to keep dragging it out.

    2. 4:51. Nothing is silly or disrespectful about sharing the birth and information their way. I think it’s cute.

      Delete
    3. 7:46, dragging it out over 4 videos is silly when one would do. Making fans wait and wait for the gender and name way after the birth has been announced comes across as disrespectful to the fans who actually care about Jessa.

      Delete
    4. 10:56. Your thinking appears to be flawed..they don’t owe their fans anything..and anyone who is a true fan understands that. It’s not so unusual to wait on the name..some people are just more deliberate on their decision making.. especially after a difficult labor where that blood clot could have caused havoc and left a devastating result.

  13. After one of my births, it took us almost two weeks to come up with a name. It happens! Sometimes it’s not theatrics, you just haven’t figured it out yourself. Give Jessa and Ben a break. Such nice kids trying hard to live good lives.

  14. I wish some people could feel how rude and entitled some of their comments come across. Jessa and Ben don’t “owe” the world any information about their child, and we should be grateful they share anything at all. They are also the only ones who can determine the way and timing in which they want to do that. Also, they have a newborn at home right now with five other children to take care of. Editing videos takes time and energy. Phew. I get tired of seeing certain attitudes in comments sections like these. God, help us all to treat others the way we would like to be treated. Congratulations to Jessa, Ben, and family!

    1. 9:31 The fact that they “have a newborn plus 5 other children to take care of” is their own fault.

    2. You're right, they don't "owe" the world information. And in that same sense, the world doesn't "owe" them money or a salary for releasing the info they do release. They seem to forget that and want to be paid for their appearances and the products they sponsor. Yes, it would be easier, with a newborn and 5 others to take care of, not to be trying to monetize this birth. Imagine the time and energy they would save if they didn't.

    3. I agree. Jessa and Ben could easily have taken the Josiah and Lauren path post show and not shared a single thing more about their family. Sadly way too many people who follow the Duggars are people who just want instant gratification

  15. Happy to hear that the baby and Mom are well but very cruel of the Seewalds to not release gender and name of baby to their fans.

  16. I don’t know how social media payments to influencers works. Please explain and please give an estimate of how much Jessa might have made with this series of birth announcements cement videos.

  17. 9 lb …10lb babies….Jesse could be on her way to being prediabetic. Needs to watch out for that

    1. Not necessarily. I had large babies also, but never diabetes. I passed all the glucose tests with all 4 babies.

  22. This lovely couple is intentional in everything they say and do, most people aren’t that deep to spend so much time deciding on their baby’s name. This exceptional effort is sure to make all their children feel loved, appreciated and valued.

    Replies
    1. Right. Nothing says I love, appreciate, and value you by having another baby right after you, before you're even out of the nursery. By splitting attention for each child into yet another fragment. Jessa is doing the same thing to her kids that her mother did to her and her siblings. Oldest child didn't get enough quality attention but was expected to be the golden one so was left to find his own way. Others had to be sister-moms when they should have been focusing on school. Quantity valued over quality. They are all a case study.

    2. 2:43 not sure why you are so bitter… you have your choice to have two children..and no one would deny you that.. Being one of six children I never felt like we had a big family. Obviously they are exceptional parents and all the children appear to be well behaved and loved. I have seen families with one or two children who have issues when they are older because their full time working mom was never there for them.
