Thanks for leaving your comments! We answer as many of your questions as we can, but due to the number of comments we receive daily, we are unable to answer every one. Our aim is to post all points of view, but we do not post anything that is profane, insulting, derogatory, or in poor taste.
Very precious. God's best to you both.
ReplyDeleteI understand them wanting privacy but why only a 6 wk engagement? That's really fast even for a duggar.
ReplyDeleteMaybe they had a simple wedding that didn't require a lot of planning?
DeleteIt seems to be the choice of their fathers...
DeleteThey were courting for a year before marriage.
DeleteThe engagement pictures look like they were taken around Christmas.
DeleteCONGRATULATIONS Jedidiah and Katey. May your marriage be filled with everlasting love and happiness.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, such a surprise. Another one married. Congrats to them
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! But I have to say this is odd, since we all knew it. Picures of their engagement with the ring and their wedding day info was released all over the internet and still they tried to keep it as a suprise...
ReplyDeleteTime 2:12AM Sun 4/4/21
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter Sunday to Everyone &
Duggars. Congrats to the newest
Duggar couple.
Happy Resurrection Day! He is RISEN!!!
DeleteI dont blame them for wanting it to be private after seeing what his siblings have went through in the public eye. People make cruel unwanted comments. Congrats for doing it your own way
Delete@ Unknown - But one of the fastest ways to get comments is to do something like have a "secret" engagement and wedding and then announce it afterwards. Did you think there would be no comments about what Jed and Katey did?
DeleteCongratulations on the wedding. Hope you both will have a wonderful life. I wish I could say it was a beautiful wedding. Counting on fans were not allowed to view it, and it appears it more than likely will not be a part of the show, so we will more than likely not be able to view in the future. The way the last two weddings were handled by the family was very sad and creepy. Something was also very off in the "Easter" episode as well. I sincerely hope the show will return to the its and the original show 19 Kids and Counting's original way of doing things. Thanks for the years of enjoying the show. I can't see it continuing in the direction it is and staying successful. We respect all your decisions, but remain very disappointed. It feels icky.
ReplyDeletePrivacy is icky? Which part bothers you?
DeleteMaybe the brides wanted to stay out of this spotlight? You do not have a right to see their weddings if they do not choose to publicize it
DeleteI think the Duggars are not too into being on tv anymore, and some of the kids are wanting to live more private lives. They’ve grown up on tv and I imagine it gets very overwhelming at some point to have your entire life shared to millions of people.
DeleteIcky and creepy because they didn't want their weddings open for public viewing? Because they want to retain some privacy? It takes some entitlement to feel that that is wrong of them.
DeleteSo if they don't share their wedding with strangers the weddings are icky and creepy. The Duggar family was on TV...their children were never given a choice, now they are adults and just maybe they've decided against it🤷♀️
DeleteI think the OP meant that it feels icky because the show probably won’t be on any more, certainly not in the format of 19 Kids and Counting or even Counting On. When you have watched the show as long as some people have, it feels like you know this family in some way. So when it’s gone, it will be a grief process to go through for some long-time viewers.
DeleteIt's the mixed message of "Watch us!" but "Don't look!" that's unsettling. If you want privacy, come out with a direct statement: "Thanks for watching us all these years. We've all decided to go in another direction and will be asking for privacy from here on out." Don't do the privacy thing AND still keep filming TV shows though. Don't think nobody will notice or be confused or have an opinion about it.
Delete3:12, you are confusing the choices of the parents with the choices of their adult children.
DeleteEven the adult children who don't want to be on the show still want you to read their blogs, watch their videos, or follow them on social media! I don't get that either.
Delete3:35. That’s because they have some control over their social media, not so much the TV show contract.
DeleteA Duggar wanted to stay out of the spotlight? Really?
ReplyDeleteObviously, yes.
DeleteIt’s almost as if not all Duggars have the exact same opinions or make the exact same decisions. Crazy, right? 🙄
DeleteAre YOU exactly like your parents and all your siblings, with the same sensibilities and desires?
DeleteCongratulations, to Jedidiah & Katey !!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteShe looks like Anna.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking the same thing.
Deletemost Duggar women looks the same just like some of their weddingdresses and their hair just hanging down.
DeleteShe looks just like his mother!
DeleteI think she looks identical to Michelle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DeleteWell, yeah, if you think this picture is his wife, then she is identical to Michelle. 😂
DeleteI think she looks more like Jana. I don't see the resemblance to Michelle
DeleteCongratulations Jedidiah & Katey. I'm so excited for both of you ❣️ I can't wait to watch the courtship, engagement, wedding & honeymoon & beyond on counting on season 12. Natasha b
ReplyDeleteAre they making another season?
DeleteIt won't be in the show...
DeleteI’m sorry to burst your bubble, but they wanted it private, so it most likely isn’t going to be featured on the show.
DeleteCongratulations to them! Cute looking proposal and igloo. Also nice of you to respect their wishes although with internet and people being really curious, others will find the information.
ReplyDeleteI wonder how many people attended the wedding and why it was not indoors like Justin's. It's still quite cool in Arkansas now.
ReplyDeleteIt was in the mid-60's yesterday afternoon. High of 68. It was breezy, but nobody looked uncomfortably cold.
DeleteShe respects Covid and her family.
DeleteThey may not have been able to find an indoor venue able to accommodate that many people and still be legally within state COVID restrictions.
DeleteSo Justin got married at the end of February, now a month later Jedidiah gets married! Despite pandemic they did very well! A new grandbaby was born in February too, plus Jessa is expecting in the Summer. Good beginning of the year for Duggars!
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking we'll see a spate of pregnancy announcements in the next few months.
DeleteJed and Katey might have a Christmas baby.
DeleteNot unless that baby is a preemie (God forbid).
Delete11:57 why would you even say that?
DeleteWell since the gestation period for a baby normally averages 40 weeks and they didn't marry until April 3rd, the baby would need to come early in order to be a Christmas baby. No one in their right mind wants a baby to come too early...hence my comment at 11:57= God forbid. :)
Delete8:48PM: I think you've forgotten that the 40 weeks is counted from the last menstrual cycle, and not from the date of marriage. If you count 2 weeks back from Apr 3, 40 weeks puts them right at Christmas Day. Biology people.
Deletecongratulations!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad the kids are becoming more and more secluded with their lives.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Jedidiah and Katey!! You make a beautiful couple and God bless!
ReplyDeleteYeees, I would be doing cartwheels if I were capable but I'm not so I'll make do with hurrah! So excited I do like a love story whether it's a movie or reality, I'm sure we'll get to see their story unfold on Counting on, I presume they wanted privacy before so as not to be followed by paparazzi or something, same with Kendra's sister who people think she's called off her engagement it's obvious she wanted privacy like Jedidiah,so when Counting on was asking the boys who would be the next to court they had two surprises up their sleeves which they were hinting at!
ReplyDeletePeople don't think she called off her engagement, they know she did. She's been seen multiple times without her ring or her fiance. No girl takes off her ring to try to fool the public or spends holidays alone if she's engaged.
DeleteSince this relationship was conducted without the usual Duggar fanfare, I doubt we'll see much of this couple on the TV show.
DeleteI’m quite certain she did broke off her engagement. There’s been quite a bit of evidence on that. Also, If she didn’t want attention she wouldn’t have had announced it at all just like Jed did.
DeleteCongratulations. What a precious proposal.
ReplyDeleteThat video was beautiful! It was nice to see a couple do things differently and keep their relationship private. Congrats to the new married couple!
ReplyDeleteLooks like the header will need another update. All the best to the new couple.
ReplyDeleteWill it be a picture of Jed and Michelle too?
Delete@ 3:02 that's too funny! 🤣🤣🤣
DeleteAnon 3:02. lol
Delete3:02
DeleteThat is just too funny :D
Jed and a campaign sign?
DeleteIt was bound to happen someday that a courtship and marriage would be kept from the public like this. I've been amazed at how willing the new spouses have been so far, to show their personal lives on TV and social media. Maybe, after seeing Jed get some privacy, this is why some of them seem to be cutting back on showing their lives and families now.
ReplyDeletePrivacy? I don't think so, you just wait and see how much season 11 will be showing that has been kept private until now, it's called pulling in the bait.
DeleteI think this lovely young woman has made it clear that she doesn't WANT to be the object of public scrutiny and or appear on reality TV. Good for her. Abbie and Lauren both seem to want to step back from raising their children on TV too.
DeleteIf she values privacy so, she could have chosen to not marry into a celebrity family.
Delete8:56 - Sometimes you can’t just choose who you fall in love with.
Delete@7:46 Of course you can choose. There is always freedom of choice in who you love or not. Unless it is an arranged marriage, which has nothing to do with love.
DeleteNo, you can always make choices about any relationship at any stage along the way.
DeleteThere are always choices to be made. Both good or bad. But always choices none the less.
DeleteThere are always choices to be made. Both good or bad. But always choices none the less.
DeleteWow, there are now more married Duggar kids than single ones!
ReplyDeleteRumors swirling that jana, and jeds twin jer are both counting
DeleteAnd Jason!
DeletePlease stop swirling the rumors, people.
DeleteThere are some people who could put those swirling rumors to rest or admit that they're true, but obviously they're not talking. That's weird, after JB pretty much tried to give away Jana wherever he spoke in public, making jokes about how she was available if there were any single guys out there. Now silence??? Really does make you think that something is up.
DeleteCongrats to Jed and Katey!
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting the news that Jedidiah is married to Katey. My one comment is if the people don't want the world to know that a wedding is upcoming, my suggestion is to make a brief statement and say the Duggar family will answer questions soon. Please don't keep saying something about an upcoming wedding. All of this will be answered soon.
ReplyDeleteWhy must it be answered? It's nobody's business.
DeleteI think Jed's new wife doesn't WANT to be in the public eye which I see as a good thing.
Delete10:04 : Good luck to her with that ---- she's a Duggar now!
DeleteAnyone who lets their dad post their engagement video online wants to be in the public eye.
Delete3:05, they did it with a level of privacy, not sharing any of their conversation.
DeleteTo 3:05, Lets their dad? Pretty sure the child had no control over what the dad does, LOL
DeleteI'm sure if I went to my dad and said, "Dad, I need you to keep this quiet because ______ is on a television show and I don't want to be hounded by the media nor do I want you all to be hounded by the media.", my dad wouldn't have posted a thing or said a thing to anyone.
DeleteYAY!!! So happy for them! Can't wait to see the wedding pics!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a shocker! Well, I can't blame them for wanting to keep everything out of the limelight. The public is often cruel and critical of this good family. Then we have those that must make a snide remark about how soon the bride will become pregnant. I get very tired of it all. But I wish Jed and Katey all the best, and, coincidentally, my daughter married the very same day! Blessings to all.
ReplyDeleteI have heard plenty of remarks from the Duggars themselves asking their own girls if they're pregnant yet, and asking each other the same question. Taking pregnancy tests seems to be a hobby of theirs. So is worrying that they've been married 3 or 4 months and they aren't pregnant yet. This is why people make remarks now. It stems from years of their own remarks. So I don't think it's out of line for viewers to watch and wonder.
DeleteNo, I don't blame them at all! Some pretty unkind people out there.
DeleteOh yeah, the sisters asking the sisters if they were pregnant yet!
DeleteYes, the unmarried sisters always hound the newly married ones for baby announcements!
DeleteYour sister doing it is different from random strangers doing it.
DeleteYour sisters doing it on camera for random strangers to see is no different.
DeleteGood for them keeping their nuptials private. God Bless them.
ReplyDeleteIs Michelle ok? The pic above has her appearing even shorter than I remember seeing her.
Hard to tell from the camera angle.
DeleteIt’s fairly common for women her age to deal with osteoporosis
Deleteit's a strange photo, it looks like she has no left leg
Delete😄 What would be wrong with her?
DeleteI'm sure she's fine. Still wearing plaid shirts.
DeleteThis doesn't add up. A few days after they air an episode they want us so badly to watch (ratings), they hold a wedding that they want to keep private. Watch us and follow us and like us, or don't watch us? Which one? Maybe it's watch us when we get paid for you to watch us, but otherwise don't? Katey's family didn't keep things private. How is blogging about your daughter's betrothal process and posting her engagement video keeping the relationship out of the spotlight? I don't understand.
ReplyDeleteOf course it adds up. Jer and Katey are not Jim Bob and Michelle. They don't have to make identical decisions to be on the show.
DeleteThis isn't "THEY". This is the couple. Each one of these people are individual human beings. It can absolutely be both ways. The larger family can want the show and ratings and all of that, but the individuals can keep themselves private.
DeleteI don't see what you are struggling so much to understand. Just because his parents want to have a show or some of his siblings want to show their lives doesn't mean Jed has to. He wanted to not have his relationship splashed all over the news and social media. Why is that challenging for you to grasp?
Her father put the video on his own website. That doesn't equate the spotlight. My wedding had a full double-page spread in the newspaper and was heavily covered in local wedding blogs as well as the blogs of my vendors and my husband's website. I would hardly call us celebrities or say we were trying to be "in the spotlight".
I have to agree that it's strange to try to be on TV and to try to keep your life private at the same time. One or the other, not both. Then to have half of the couple talk about the engagement but the other half not... Strange, especially given the fame-loving people involved.
DeleteWow, they sure kept that a secret! Didn't even know he had a girlfriend! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Jedidiah and Katey!! Happy Easter!!
ReplyDeleteI predict a Christmas baby for Jed and Katey!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations 🎊 I wish all best. God bless you both.
ReplyDelete“Private” until it’s on their TV show.
ReplyDeleteOr until they sell the story, complete with pics, for a paid spread in US magazine, People, etc. LOL
DeleteNice that they want to stay away from the spotlight!
ReplyDeleteWow. I'll bet Jer is going to have a hard time adjusting after the two of them being so close their whole lives.
ReplyDeleteWhat a very strange comment. Jed and Jer have not stopped being brothers because one got married. There is nothing that requires adjustment.
DeleteJana had to adjust when her twin married too, it was for her as they stayed local, I'm presuming Jed will stay local too as he works at his father's business - car sales isn't it, or maybe it's his own business.
DeleteI thought he was flying and working maintenance for the church where the trailer is.
DeleteJana had to adjust when her twin married too, it was alright for her as they stayed local, I'm presuming Jed will stay local too as he works at his father's business - car sales isn't it, or maybe it's his own business.
DeleteYeah. Lost his bunk mate. Maybe he'll get married next.
DeleteThere is nothing that any of them need to adjust to. Some of you are making it sound like they were Siamese twins who just got seperation surgery.
Delete11:34, are you a twin who lived and worked alongside your twin for 20+ years and then suddenly stopped? How do you know there is no adjustment? When my oldest went to college, we all had to adjust to life without him.
Delete@8:55 Big deal. It's school. No drama or adjusting necessary. It just is what it is. You can either choose to wallow in it and make mountains out of molehills or choose to move on. It's life. It happens.
Delete1:05, we didn't "wallow," my goodness. Or "make mountains out of molehills" either. Or have "drama." Since you have not been in my shoes, I'm not going to attempt to further defend my family's experience, since it would fall on deaf ears.
DeleteGreat news! No public fanfare. They are learning it isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Simply gives the haters more time to hate.
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful and exciting. I wish you the best in the world.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Jedidiah & Katey. Wish you all the best.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Jed!
ReplyDeleteSo they got engaged on Valentine’s Day and they’re already married. I still don’t get how they manage to plan wedding on such a short amount of time, this engagement was only like 5 weeks long!
ReplyDeleteIt's really not that hard if you know the right people.
DeleteI'm sure the preparations were already going on long before the engagement was official. They had been courting for a year or so
DeleteA wedding announcement and it's a pic with his mother. Awkward! Lol Where is the wedding photo! Let"s see the bride and her dress!
ReplyDeleteThey don't want you to see the bride. But be sure to watch their show! And buy their merch!
DeleteYes, double message there. Not amused.
DeleteIf she/they wanted privacy, she should not have married a Duggar.
DeleteWOW!!!!! His new bride really favors his mama!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat IS his mama. 😂
DeleteSeriously? They don't look anything alike beyond having brown hair.
DeleteThat is funny! I understand the privacy aspect, but it does seem a little strange to have the title of marriage with the photo but have a picture of his mom.:)
DeleteThe weddings came in quick succession. I wonder who will marry next. Jer? Jason?
ReplyDeleteJohannah?
DeleteI find this very encouraging that they are allowed to have that privacy and keep their relationship out of the spotlight. For the opportunities I've had to get into a new relationship, I sure wouldn't want everyone seeing it; I would involve only the ones who are in my life; not a bunch of internet strangers. I hope that paves the way for any other of the Duggar adult children to also do this if they choose. And if they meet someone who wants that as well.
ReplyDeleteAgreed!
DeleteDoes anyone know how many children still live at home?
ReplyDeleteI believe it is nine.
DeleteThere are ten at home if you include Tyler, Michelle’s great nephew that they adopted.
DeleteCongratulations to the newly minted Mr.&Mrs. Duggar. Katey, your wedding dress was absolutely beautiful. You both looked so very happy. Best Wishes to both of you for a long and happy marriage.
ReplyDeleteSomeone asked, "Are they going to live in the little house with the twin beds?"
ReplyDelete🤣🤣🤣🤣
DeleteNo, actually they will be living in the Caldwell's old house.
Delete@7:36 The car lot one? I thought so.
DeleteNaw. They're going to have bunk beds. lol
DeleteI would make this same decision, for sure!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Jedidiah and Katey. Blessings and Happiness .
ReplyDeleteGod Bless
Marilyn,Joan and Marion
I would rather see a secret Jana wedding.
ReplyDeleteIf the Duggars don't care to share details about their lives any more, why should we care about their show any more? This is a turning point.
ReplyDeleteActually makes me respect them more. They have a right to show us what they want not what people demand. How much do you see about your favourite musician or actor?
DeleteI find it kind of selfish of fans to demand anything. They are still real people with real feelings.
DeleteThey should make up their minds if they are public figures, like they say they are, or if they're private citizens. This half and half is unsettling.
ReplyDeleteNo, it's not. Do you do the exact same things your parents do?
DeleteI don't see it as unsettling. This family is just trying to have their cake and eat it at the same time. You can't seek fame and fortune on TV while keeping your privacy.
DeleteSo the kids can’t break away from what their parents do I thought that is what everyone wanted? Also not everyone who ever has been on TV owes the world their private life
DeleteTruthie: The Duggars are on TV telling us all about their lives and being PAID, then they want "privacy" too. They can't expect to have it both ways.
Delete9:24, they HAVE to draw the privacy line somewhere. They literally can't show us everything in their lives. And when it comes to the adult offspring, they absolutely have every right to decide where their personal line is drawn, and their parents have no right to demand them to show anything, let alone a bunch of strangers. Such entitlement to think otherwise.
DeleteWell this does possibly explain why they celebrated Easter in February. They knew they would be busy with a wedding at Easter time.
ReplyDeleteOh, good call!
DeleteCongratulations to the new couple. But where's Katey? She seems to be out of the picture.
ReplyDeleteKatey is everywhere but here.
DeleteSo they were together before the election, yet he kept everything a secret from the public. Is that what people running for elected office should be doing, hiding such important things about their lives? I don't think so, because that's the way we've ended up with startling revelations later and sometimes people having to leave office, disrupting the faith the voters had put in them.
ReplyDeleteHaha, a dating relationship is hardly startling, which is where they were at during election time.
DeleteIf there's a pattern of wanting to hide important things about your personal life, then yes it can be a problem if you're a politician.
DeleteI think the bigger lesson to be learned here maybe, is not to put any faith in a reality tv show personality. They're playing a part, generating content for their network for which they're being well paid. It's a business arrangement. In this case, they were selling "faith, family values, and wholesome family content", to benefit themselves, TLC, and its sponsors. Like all actors, they want an audience (fans) when they want to get paid. Just like actors, when they want their privacy, the fans don't matter. The sooner fans just accept that the Duggars are paid actors, the better off fans will be. Not trying to be mean, the truth is the truth and they've evidenced this repeatedly.
DeleteTrue 10:07 and as "paid actors," I don't feel they should be using that position to gain anything other than an audience for each show. It doesn't mean you go around the rest of the time saying you're "breakout stars" in order to promote something or to gain office.
DeleteI wouldn't get overly concerned about Jed's future in politics. I don't think he's going to have much of a political career. He ran a very poor campaign and seems to have moved on after his loss.
Delete6:54, that's not a pattern. A dating relationship is not necessarily something someone running for office states publically. I've never seen it done in my 40 plus years.
DeleteWho a candidate is dating always comes out. I think it was classy of Jed's opponent not to bring it up.
DeleteWell, yeah, it would be kind of silly for his opponent to bring it up. If she was a controversial figure then it might have played some role in the election, but she's just a nice young lady who he happened to be dating at the time. Not super relevant to a political campaign.
DeleteHe will run for office until he wins. Name recognition. Being a state legislator comes with a salary. A new way for a Duggar son to earn money.
Delete
