Looks amazing,so pretty.
ReplyDeleteYou're right, she looks amazing and so radiant! Her old hair was dragging her down a lot, this is such a positive change! She really does look radiant.
DeleteMuch more current hairstyle looks good! The long hair looks like you live in the backcountry (IMO!!!). I'd love to see her get a part-time job at a child care center, CNA job at a nursing home, coffee shop, etc. Something to get out of the house and spread her wings a little! They could use the money and I think Derick would like her to have some outside interests like some of the Bates girls do (Josie-hair, Whitney-realtor)! Yay Jill.
DeleteSo pretty and I have about 13 times.
ReplyDeleteHer hair is still beautiful! What a great idea to donate it!
ReplyDeleteShe looks great!!!
DeleteI am cancer survivor and k ow what's it is like to have little and no hair. My hisband for the first several years of our marriage would rutionly go his hair long and the. Donate it to locks of love. For me cause since the cancer I can't live with short hair. Its too much for me. I keep my hair long now.
DeleteShe looks pretty with short hair
ReplyDeleteIt's not short at all!
DeleteHer hair is not short. It is shorter but still long. Yes it is very nice!
DeleteAWESOME!!!!
ReplyDeleteLooks fabulous!!
ReplyDeletesuper cute! looks really good on her
ReplyDeleteLovely - so glad she donated it also.
ReplyDeleteJill looks like an attractive, modern young woman. I’m sure she is finding her new look very liberating. I’m glad she put aside her father’s silly preference for long hair and followed her own mind. Go Jill Go!!!!
ReplyDeleteHaving a preference for long hair is not silly. I love my hair long and I guarantee it is NOT a silly preference!
DeleteFirst of all technically her hair is still long. Second it isn't her fathers preference for long hair. It is a personal conviction of Michelle's that women should have long hair based off of how she interprets certain scripture verses. Third just because you disagree with someones opinion on something does not make it silly.
DeleteActually in one of the first specials when it was 14 kids and pregnant again Or 15 kids and counting , Jana Jill Jessa and Jinger specifically state that they keep their hair long bc that is thier fathers preference. That clip was shown when they filmed doing home perms and making their own laundry detergent
Deletei think the original poster was trying to say that because Jim Bob (or MIchelle) prefer long hair doesn’t mean the girls need to keep their hair that way. Personal preferences are fine but we have been told repeatedly that’s the way Jim Bob likes it. That’s what makes it “silly”.
DeleteLighten up folks, these comments aren’t directed at you personally
8:49...you are incorrect. Jim Bob expresses SEVERAL times on the show that he prefers the women and girls all keep their hair long.
Deletein one of the episodes years ago, the older girls were asked why they wear their hair long. first comment was our DAD prefers it long, then they said and we like it long. it is their fathers preference but those days are over. she looks great.
DeleteI think it's bizarre that a father would want to control how long his daughter's hair is. Very controlling with no good reason.
Deleteboth her and her hair look good and healthy..so glad to see her
ReplyDeleteI love it Jill...
ReplyDeleteLove the new look. Her new look frames her face and brings out her eyes and cheekbones. Love the way it brings out her natural beauty.
ReplyDeleteShe looks great!
ReplyDeleteGreat! That's so cool to do.
ReplyDeleteJill, your hair looks absolutely beautiful and healthy! I love it!
ReplyDeleteLove her haircut! She looks so pretty.
ReplyDeletevery pretty i like it
ReplyDeleteShe looks so nice, I haven't but my husband is growing his out to donate it, but he doesn't donate it to locks of loves because the charge for the wigs, he goes to the children's hospital and has them cut it and donates it there cause they don't charge for the wigs
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful
ReplyDeleteLove it. It's a nice length for a young mother. Great that she's going to donate it. Some ot the others should think about cutting theirs .
ReplyDeleteI agree. I think her hair looks much healthier now that all the split ends have been cut off.
DeleteI think she looks much better with shorter hair. But I thought they were supposed to have long hair because the Bible says that women should have long hair.
ReplyDeleteI’ve never heard that before. What Bible verse are you referencing? I agree that she looks better with shorter hair.
DeleteHer her is still long by most people’s standards. It was just extremely long before.
DeleteIt’s not that short. Besides, I’ve never figured out why scripture likes long hair. Why would anyone Interpreting God’s Word to us think that God is so narrow-minded as to tell women how long to wear their hair.
DeleteHer hair is still relatively long.
DeleteIt’s like a medium length cut now.
DeleteHer hair is still long and it is a female hair style! That verse is talking about differentiating genders through dress and hair cuts. Women are to have long hair (nowhere does it say how many inches my own hair never gets beyond a certain length). Men are to have short hair. How long a lady wants her hair is a preference and like anything women's hair comes in all shapes and sizes! Now if she'd of gone out and shaved her head she'd be going against thar principle.
Delete12:25-her hair is still long. It is just shorter than what it was.
Delete4:38....1 Corinthians 11:15
DeleteYou say men must have short hair? Didnt Jesus and many of his disciples have longer hair?
DeleteWe don't have any photos of Jesus and His disciples, but since the Bible talks about men having shorter hair, we can probably assume theirs was an acceptable length.
DeleteHow in the world would we know if Jesus and other men had long hair? Because that’s how artists imagine their hair?
Delete2:39, no where in the Bible does it say Jesus or any of his disciples had long hair, that’s just how it is depicted in movies and paintings.
Delete2;39 - it's in the bible before jesus. Hence, why many ignore that part as it was customs of the Jewish culture.
DeleteThe Jewish men did not cut their hair because it was the practice of the Romans to cut their hair and sacrifice it to their pagan gods. So the Jewish men in contrast left their hair longer.
DeleteLooks great! I’m guessing a big family announcement is coming soon 🙂
ReplyDeleteWhy? Does cutting hair mean you are pregnant?
DeleteJill's hair cut isn't a sign that she's pregnant. Give her a break.
Delete12:31 get a life...not every Duggar is going to want to be pregnant Everytime they turn around....a hair cut is definitely not a symptom of pregnancy. Let these couples decide when and IF they want more children without pressure.
Delete12:21-that is ridiculous! I do not see how Jill cutting her hair would make you think she's going to have a big family announcement soon!
DeleteIt should be their choice so if they decide to have many many children that's their choice as well
DeleteThe moment I've been waiting for! She looks so good...so much healthier looking. I think its time they all go in for a chop!!! Need to do away with overgrown waist length hair!
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing wrong with waist length hair. It happens to be very pretty!
Delete4:32, it’s very pretty if you are able to maintain it. My hair currently goes down to my waist but I make sure to get trims to prevent split ends, and I just take care of it overall. Jill’s did look overgrown rather than stylish, and this haircut suits her much better.
DeleteLong hair is pretty 4:32, but only if it trimmed regularly and properly cared for. Before the haircut Jill's hair looked tired and dry....now it is healthy and shiny.
DeleteWell, HERS didn’t.
DeleteAs long as you keep the ends trimmed, long hair can be beautiful. Overgrown is a subjective thing.
DeleteIt looks SO great! Way to go, Jill!!
ReplyDeleteHer hair looks beautiful at that length. The before photo looks like she’s going to Hogwarts tho
ReplyDeleteLooks great!
ReplyDeleteLooks nice. And that's great it's for a good cause. :)
ReplyDeleteShe looks wonderful! Maybe her mom and sisters will follow suit.
ReplyDeleteThis just took 10 years off her, can you imagine if the others follow suit. Also, it will save the hairlines from receding any further.I think woman over 45 should not have hair passed their shoulders, what will Michele do when she is 70 and grey, hopefully have it short like grandma Marys.
DeleteThat would be nice. They could go for different styles instead of the "uniform" look.
DeleteLol... I had a dream last night that Jessa, Joy, Kendra, and maybe one other sister cut their hair just like Jill had!
DeleteJana has had hers close to this length for a while.
DeleteWomen over 45 shouldn't have their hair past their shoulders? I'm nearly 40 and I have long hot pink hair. Instead of tearing women down you should be building them up.
DeleteAnon 9:07. Hot pink hair? That's great.
DeleteAnon 1.27 I have to touch up the pink every 4 weeks but it's totally worth it. I never had the courage in my teens and 20s to be so bold.
DeleteI love the new cut and bless you for donating to those in need.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful
ReplyDeleteI love Jill's new haircut. It's about time one of the Duggars cut their hair. Yes, I've donated twice to Locks of Love more then ten years ago.
ReplyDeleteIs it Locks of Love?
ReplyDeleteLooks fantastic!!
ReplyDeleteJill looks beautiful with this hair length and I loved that she donated what was cut off!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is still long hair and looks great. I thought she would have a real life changing look with short hair. That long hair looked dated and old fashioned. Welcome to 20/20, Jill.
ReplyDeleteJean, do you go up to women with long hair and tell THEM their hair is "dated" and "old fashioned"?
DeleteJean. Her hair does not still look long, it looks good that way. If you can't sys anything nice don't say anything at all very rude
Delete4:39, not all long hair looks dated and old fashioned, however Jill’s did. Her new hair cut looks lovely, she pulls off a medium length very well.
DeleteI really like Jill's new haircut, and I think that it was very sweet of her, to donate her hair, to a charity.
ReplyDeleteLove the shorter style! It looks great on Jill!
ReplyDeleteCutting her hair actually makes her look younger! BEAUTIFUL!
ReplyDeleteFunny, I thought she looked older.
Delete6:34, no it definitely makes her look younger. Her super long hair looked very unkept (not her fault, but she obviously doesn’t have the time to look after it the way that you need to to maintain very healthy long hair).
DeleteMy oldest daughter has given her hair twice! She is growing it out again... what a great way to help others! Good job, Jill!!
ReplyDeleteJILL I LIKE YOUR NEW HAIR CUT. I HOPE TO SEE YOU AGAIN AND ALSO YOUR BOYS ISRAEL AND SAMUEL BACK ON COUNTING ON. I LOVE SEEING THE 3 OF YOU SOME TIME IN THE FUTURE. NATASHA B
ReplyDeleteLOVE her new haircut! She looks so refreshed and younger!
ReplyDeleteLong hair is nice, but not when you sit on them and your kids get tangled in them. I totally love Jill's new haircut, still long but really suitable length and easy to style and wear.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Jill is re-thinking the rules she was raised with. There is no reason very long hair is more godly than shorter hair.
ReplyDeleteI feel like anything past your shoulders is "long". She probably never wants to have a super short cut.
DeleteIf long hair were godly, then Lady Godiva would have been something close to a saint.
DeleteHaha, 5:05. Godliness starts in the heart and works itself out in words and actions, so not sure Lady Godiva qualifies.
DeleteMiss seeing her and her family on the show. Wish she would come back with the boys.
ReplyDeleteWow! She looks great!
ReplyDeleteMom of three
Jill's hair looks amazing! My daughter and I have both donated our hair several times!
ReplyDeleteYes I have, once. I was hoping one of the sisters would do that one day. Michelle was asked about it once in a Q and A and she said it would take so long to grow back. I guess, as Jill said in the video, it took the hair feeling really heavy to realize that that doesn't matter anymore. Good for her!
ReplyDeleteI BELIEVE YOU BUT CAN YOU TELL ME WHERE YOU SAW THE VIDEO PLEASE? I WOULD LIKE TO WATCH IT.
DeleteLove Jill new haircut. Looks awesome. Hope Michelle takes to the same look. Love Ledabeth Merry Christmas and Jesus is the reason for the season
ReplyDeleteMy granddaughter has donated 3 times. Maybe her sister’s could all donate together! Could you imagine the publicity?? I really hope that Michelle does something with her hair! It’s awful looking. Jill looks fabulous!!!!
ReplyDeleteMichelle's hair looks dry and frizzy and that moussed perm look is very out of style.
DeleteAwful looking? Yikes!
DeleteWhat happened to "it's her choice"? Oh that only applies when they are doing what you like or you think the children are rebelling how sad
DeleteShe looks so pretty. It’s not really that short. Just short to her. Good for her!!! Believe me, those hair donations are a true blessing to those who need them.
ReplyDeleteJill looks fantastic ! When my 4th child was 5 and about to start Kindy her hair was up to her knees ! Never been cut or trimmed before, we cut it waist length and donated it as well ! She had the most beautiful curls but it had to be done !!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Yes, I donated a 18 inch braid once.
ReplyDeleteIt looks so much healthier. I love it. I donated my hair a few years ago too, it felt so good to be able to do that.
ReplyDeleteyes but actually many organizations no longer take real hair as they prefer synthetic hair.
ReplyDeleteIt's still longer than most women I know who have a haircut. I think it looks great. I have donated my hair before also :)
ReplyDeleteI forget about Jill sometimes since she isn't on the show and she isn't having kids... But love her hair, I was just thinking the other day that one of the girls should cut their hair shorter but it's still a longish length.
ReplyDeleteLooks pretty, what a great donation!
ReplyDeleteLooks good Jill
ReplyDeleteLove it!!! She'll notice a big difference when she washes it.
ReplyDeleteMY DAUGHTER WHO HAS CANCER HERSELF DONATES EVERY YEAR. AND YES TO LOCKS OF LOVE BUT SHE INCLUDES A CHECK TO COVER THE PRICE OF A WIG SO THE PERSON IS NOT CHARGED.
ReplyDeleteJILL YOU LOOK GORGEOUS!!!
Anyone who has health insurance does not pay for wigs. Yes, I speak from experience. Insurance ALWAYS pays for a wig for cancer patients.
DeleteJill looks amazing, in fact I think she has not looked so happy in a long time. It’s nice she is branching out a bit with her hair & moving away from it being so very long (very difficult to look after with young kids). Good idea to donate her locks too, lots of people do that & my daughter donated 18 inches of her curly ginger locks when she had her hair cut shorter six months ago, she donated to a children’s cancer charity that makes wigs for cancer patients & apparently ginger hair is in very short supply. Maybe the fact Jill is super close with Amy now is rubbing off on her & she is becoming more trendy like Amy. I hope she keeps it up as she really does look great.
ReplyDeleteVery nice - she looks 5 years younger!
ReplyDeleteShe looks great in that cut. I sure miss Jill and Derick on the show.
ReplyDeleteYes donated twice...her hair looks great! Has so much more life to it now!
ReplyDeleteI do like long hair in general, but Jill's "before" hair was too much. You can't style it, except maybe making a bun which is too heavy. Curling such long hair still keeps it too long. Right now she looks amazing.
ReplyDeleteLooks amazing!
ReplyDeleteI think it looks great either way. If you love long hair you shouldn’t worry about what other people think about it. People don’t have to all look alike.
ReplyDeleteJinger needs to do this too. The last 6" of her hair is completely fried due to the blonde dye she used.
ReplyDeleteYes, you are right. Whoever did her color should have used a shade closer to her natural color, then it would not have been so harsh on her ends. In my opinion I still prefer her as a brunette though with maybe some copper highlights.
DeleteI saw a picture of her hair the other day, and the ends looked really dried out. I don't think she did herself or her hair any favors with that color.
DeleteHer shorter hair looks good. But i love the super long hair. But she looks beautiful. The only reason i would ever consider cutting my hair is for giving it away.
ReplyDeleteMy hair reaches reaches below my knees and has never been cut. I believe women should have long hair and will not cut mine. I wear mine up all the time.
ReplyDeleteAnon at 12:09 I'm sure you have very pretty hair. I've met many women with hair your length. With practice and hair suggestions from other women it can be taken care of.
Delete12:09- I believe women should wear their hair any way they like. I am more comfortable with short hair. Our shower drain thanks me!
DeleteHave it your way but don’t put that on ALL women. Some women look good in short or medium hair lengths. Many older women look like heads with super long hair.
DeleteIf you wear it up all the time why is that different than short hair.
DeleteI don’t see this in Scripture
DeleteCongratulations to you. However, you might want to let us know what you think about that style when you start to get a receding hairline and go bald.
Deleteanon12:09 I think it's wonderful that everyone can have their own beliefs and opinions, as long as they aren't trying to infringe on the rights or beliefs of other people, or treat others as spiritually inferior.
DeleteI am not judging your choice and I am sure it looks great. However, you may want to consider that you aren't getting the full benefit of the longer hair if it's so long you always have to wear it up. Having hair going to the middle of your back or waist would make it easier to wear it down more often.
Delete@12:09 How do you feel about women in the military and in service jobs where they can't have long hair because of either safety or upkeep? Should women give up those jobs and not help their fellow human beings, including every one of us here, so they can grow their hair instead? The idea of women needing long hair becomes rather useless in that context, doesn't it?
DeleteWomen can have long hair in the military; it just has to be styled in such a way so that it is above the collar.S.
Delete@ 501 women should not be in military
Delete@12;09 If you wear your hair up all the time why have long hair, that kind of defeats the purpose. After a certain age long hair ages all woman. All the adult Duggar women could use a nice haircut.
Delete@9:06 If a woman wants to be in the military why shouldn't she be.
@9:06 am - A woman’s place is anywhere she wants to be.
Delete@9:06 Really? Women should not be in the military? Women have served in important roles in the military for over 100 years. Ever heard of military nurses? Women working in offices? Code breakers?
DeleteWomen today are pilots, nurses, doctors, engineers, work in logistics...and even are in combat roles. They serve their country with honor; some have died for their country.
Your comment is disrespectful to the women and to the men in uniform.
9:06, why not?
DeleteIs the Original Poster for real or is she just messing with the rest of us. The general opinion in this blog post seems to be that women should have the right to choose what they feel best in, including the OP in this thread. But, mercy, she sounds judgemental and mean.
DeleteWhy do the Duggars think that long, long hair like that is attractive?
ReplyDeleteWhy do some women think short hair is attractive? It is all a matter of opinion. I hate short hair on women, but everyone gets to make their own choices. I wear mine long because that is how I like it.
DeleteBecause to some of us, having our hair long it is attractive. We don't care what others think because it's none of their business.
Delete2:26- They think that they're honoring God by having long hair, kind of like how in some religions women cover their heads with a cap or scarf.
DeleteBecause they do, and that's their opinion. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. For example : Someone might find you attractive, while someone else doesn't think you are attractive at all. S.
DeleteWhy do some people think that long, long hair is not attractive?
Delete6:09 it becomes unattractive when it gets dry with split ends.
DeleteWhen you're young long hair is attractive, but their hair is not. They need their split ends cut off and a decent condition treatment.
DeleteMichele is too old to have the length she does. She needs the length that her mother in law had. For all you ladies that have long hair if you keep it up why have it long? That defeats the purpose.
4:43, Michelle doesn't "need" to do anything with her hair based on other people's opinions.
DeleteI have donated. It is a minimum 30 cm = 12 inches. Unfortunately, the Canadian Cancer Society no longer takes hair as they decided to go with only synthetic wigs for the future :(
ReplyDeleteWOW! She looks fantastic and so pretty. The other Duggar girls need to do this as well, including Michelle. They are too pretty to allow unkept long hair to outdate them and overshadow their faces. You look great Jill!
ReplyDeleteI agree. Michelle would look so much better with a haircut and style that was flattering to her features.
DeleteMichelle's face has a beautiful glow to me, and her hair is so secondary to that.
DeletePlease Jess’s...it’s your turn.
ReplyDeleteJessa actually takes care of her hair, so it looks good long.
DeleteJessa was a very outspoken teen, but then she got married and now she does not use makeup, she dresses very conservatively. Her hair is in a good shape, but I don't see her doing something radical with her hair. She seems to be a great mother, and her kids are adorable and seem to be taken care of.
DeleteJessa wears makeup.
DeleteJESSA has WONDERFUL hair, and I love it!!!!! Jessa U have wonderful healthy hair, their just jelly!!!!!
DeleteAgree new haircut looks healthy and flattering! And to donate makes it all the more amazing! (I've donated hair 3x and it's a great feeling to help this way!) Way to go, Jill! Blessings to you!
ReplyDeleteI grow my hair long every few years so I can donate to Locks of Love. I've donated 3 times. S.
ReplyDeleteI think Jill looks prettier with this length, because her face looks oval shaped instead of long shaped.
Looks amazing, love it at this length, so much healthier and stylish.
ReplyDeleteLove the shorter hair on Jill. She looks great, her hair looks so healthy, with this cut.
ReplyDeletelove your hair Jill love it
ReplyDeleteCan someone please explain who started this myth that long hair causes a receding hair line and baldness
ReplyDeleteIt’s not a myth -entirely. Pulling hair back too tightly (easily done with long hair), and/or wearing lots of hairpins also easily done with long hair can cause a receding hairline and/or bald areas. Look up traction induced alopecia and friction induced alopecia.
Delete2:07, the statement in itself isn’t true, however, if your hair is very long and you wear it pulled back constantly to keep it out of the way, THAT can cause a receding hairline. Long hair is also more likely to attract dirt, get split ends, roots are more easily damaged, etc, and that can lead to bald spots.
DeleteI think it has more to do with hairstyles and products, not the length if hair. Regularly pulling your hair back too tight in a ponytail can cause hair breakage around the hairline. Over time, this can cause damage to the hair follicles. My hair stylist told me this years ago. When I was a kid, I wore long hair and braids and I had a problem with this. I’ve worn my hair short as an adult, so it’s not an issue. My daughter has long hair and at one time used dry shampoo a few times per week. She started noticing small bald patches and she was frightened by this. Her hair stylist told her to stop using the product and those spots grew back and she didn’t have any more problems.
DeleteMichelle's hair is colored and unhealthy, so she can't donate it. The organizations cannot accept it. I agree that she is need of a good condition and a large amount cut off. She and it will look a lot better at this point. Her ends are stringy and not attractive. This is not an insult on her but an observation and many see and she does not.
ReplyDeleteShe looks great and happy snd years younger!!!!!! It was longnover do un my opinion. And so brave of her to do that much all at once!!!!! Michelle looked so nicecwhen they did a make over on her once before. That perm fried crunchy friz is not attractive on anybody.
ReplyDeleteGood for you, Jill!
ReplyDeleteJill, you look awesome! I'm sure someone is very grateful for your gift of love.
ReplyDeleteDo we know where it was donated to? Just curious.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE U JILL!!!!!!!!!! GREAT HAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDelete
