For the past two days, the Duggars have been enjoying the family atmosphere of Branson's Silver Dollar City. There are fun things to do for adults and children of all ages, which makes it a great outing for this super-sized family.

Today, June 8th is also Garret Duggars 1st BIRTHDAY!! So I would like to wish the Duggars to have fun on their vacation and to wish a Garret a very happy birthday!!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness!!!! Mackynsie and Jordyn couldn’t look more alike!!!!!! You’d think 🤔 they were sisters (even twins!) instead of aunt and niece!!
ReplyDelete@1224 I think she was suggesting what people would think if they say them together and didn't know anything about them or the Duggar family.
DeleteI believe the last person in the first pic is James. Thanks for the great pics of SDS.
ReplyDeleteJordyn and Mackynzie look like sisters! I showed the picture to my kids and said look, this girl is the other girl's aunt, and they didn't know what to make of it! lol
ReplyDeleteWhatever they're eating on a stick looks totally gross and unhealthy!
ReplyDeleteIt's just a potato!!
DeleteChester's Kettle Chips. It's just potato chips fried on a stick.
DeleteIt's their choice, not yours lol. It's unhealthy everyone once and while won't hurt you.
DeleteUnhealthy, yes. Gross, not in the least, as long as you enjoy french fries. It's a potato that has been spiral cut, skewered, and fried. Just a convenient way of eating curly fries.
DeleteLooks like a spiral sliced and deep fried potato on a stick to me... yummy!!
DeleteThey are having fried pickles. Unhealthy? Yes. However, it is a treat on a vacation. Just as you might have a snowcone, which is nothing but sugary syrup over ice in a cup. Everyone has a treat on occasion. Especially when they are on vacation.
DeleteJim Bob (of canned tuna & BBQ sauce fame) hasn't ever been the role model for healthy eating.
DeleteTheir favorite stomping ground. I wonder what sort of sweetheart deal they have there.
ReplyDeleteWish I could go on lots of trips. but Meredith is a cutie!
ReplyDeleteIt sure does look like good family fun! What does Jim Bob have on a stick? I can't make out what it is.
ReplyDeleteIts potatoes
DeleteI believe the food on the stick is one potato cut in a spiral but all connected. Likely crispy like chips. Yummy 😋
DeleteI think it's some sort of deep fried food. In the South they deep fry EVERYHTING including butter.
DeleteI'm from the south and never had or seen fried butter. EVERYTHING is not deep fried.
DeleteI am from the south and everything is not deep fried. I have also never seen fried butter.
DeleteTo you Southerners that never heard of fried butter, it's a staple at fairs in my area. Paula Deen has a recipe for it online. lol
DeleteI see a lot of happy faces. It looks like the have a very good time together! But I can't help I really don't all that games with shooting and weapons. I know it's only a game but it still looks violent to me. I think children get a wrong idea about shooting and stuff. My two boys love to play soldier but I try to learn them why I don't like that game, why I hate weapons, etc.
ReplyDeleteReally...let boys be boys! Responsible gun ownership comes when they are older. We have a 2nd ammendment that supports this! Seriously??!!!
DeleteThey sure like to promote this place! Are they business partners?
ReplyDeleteNo, they don't have no partship with them except that it is a nice place to go. I been there a few times.
DeleteLove the Dugger Family. Been watching ever since they were 14 kids and counting. Just waiting for new episodes of Counting On. Love You Guys
ReplyDeleteI wonder what that drink JB is holding is called.
ReplyDeleteChester's Kettle Chips. Potato chips fried on a stick.
DeleteIn Australia we call it a chip on a stick. :)
DeleteLooks like fun for the little ones. But I really wish they would share some of their Christian ministry and mission work with us for inspiration. They never talk about that and I am not sure why. Christian works are about witness and sharing the works you do.
ReplyDeleteThey want to be relatable. They don't want you to think about their extreme viewpoints. See, they're just like you and me, at an amusement part! Forget the rest.
DeleteI completely agree with you. In the past, the Duggar’s have always shared the different ways they ministered. Now it’s all about the fun their having. Remember when The would travel every year to Mississippi ( I believe that was the state) to help with a huge fish fry? Do they still do that with the younger kids? I remember them helping in a soup kitchen, I believe it was New York and countless other ways they would minister to and bless people with volunteering. It also showed a type of work ethic. Now ALL they show us is spending money and having fun with all the different places they go to. Do the younger kids go and put in violin concerts like the older kids did when they were young? Inquiring minds want to know!
Delete@ 9:02 Jim Bob and Michelle aren’t spring chickens any more perhaps they are choosing to spend their energy on time and fun with their younger children and grandchildren. The Duggar’s gave a lot of themselves and their time to different ministries over the years and I know they still participate in some of those activities. Being in my 50’s now energy levels aren’t what they used to be I don’t know how they do the kids they still have at home and all those cute grandkids. They look happy healthy and deserve to enjoy life....you can’t give all of yourself away.
DeleteNothing would turn some people off religion faster than folks proselytizing in their faces. The actions of this family, showing their love for one another and the Lotd in what they do, speaks volumes. “Share the Gospel. Sometimes use words.”
DeleteNothing shows a mother's love more than teaching a kid how to shoot a gun.
ReplyDeleteThe kids already know how. So it's a mother showing love by doing something that the child enjoys. Maybe that child will grow up to be a policeman, and then people will glad he learned to shoot a gun.
DeleteI wholeheartedly agree! 😊
DeleteHuh? What does shooting a gun have to do with a mother's love? Here, there are many excellent mothers and not a gun in sight. And @8:45, you do know that police officers go through extensive firearm training. Being taught how to fire a gun as a child is NOT a good reason to become a police officer. Police officers here are trained to use a gun as a last resort.
DeleteThey're just laser guns to shoot at targets in the ride. Completely harmless and clearly not real. Just easier to aim than a laser pointer!
DeleteYes, 8:38, I do know that police officers go through extensive fire arm training. The whole point was that maybe interest in a lifelong career could be sparked by a childhood experience. As much as we abhor gun violence, we still want "good guys" available to protect us from "the bad guys."
DeleteAgree with OP. I don't think children should be encouraged to shoot any kind of gun, real or not, at any sort of target.
DeleteDisney made that popular over 20 years ago with their Buzz Lightyear ride. Many amusement parks have cheap knockoffs. It’s basically a video game you ride through.
DeleteHowever one of the pictures Jinger posted in her grandma tribute shows them with what look to be actual guns. They have even had shooting range dates on the show.
Personal opinion: rides where you shoot at targets, cool. Shooting actual guns, not cool.
Personal opinion that I think others share, too: Kids shooting guns of any sort, not cool.
Delete@2:38 Somehow I don't think that childhood interest in guns and target practice is a good reason or motivation to become a police officer. Properly trained law enforcement are highly skilled in deescalating potentially volatile or violent confrontations. Tempermant and being able to maintain a cool head are also essential. Even though they must go through rigourus firearms training, guns are used as a last resort, not a first response. Unfortunately, there have been far too many officer-involved shootings where there was not adquate screening from the get-go and lack of proper training.
DeleteYou're right..because when the police are minutes away, a life can be saved :)
DeleteLet boys be boys!
DeleteIn Detroit, calling 911 is useless... there's been killings, rape and God only knows what going on in that city. Defending yourself is the only way and learning how to properly shoot to save your life is worth it when seconds count. Think about it
Delete8:54, I think you're missing my point. I'm not saying that someone would say, "I'm a policeman now just because I went target shooting as a child." Obviously a lot more thought and deeper motivations would arise with age and maturity. Did you see me use the word "spark"? That word was important to my meaning. Sometimes childhood experiences can set off an interest for what one becomes as an adult, in fact I'd say that happens a lot. That doesn't mean that the child is thinking through all the ramifications or knows all that the future job will entail. That doesn't mean the future job will look the same as what the child envisioned. It's a spark, not the fire.
Delete...And you people and your pro-gun "Give anyone and everyone a gun, as soon as possible" have me SMH. Many mass shootings have also been "stopped" in countries with strict gun control. Stopped, as in never happened in the first place. Japan, Australia, UK...
Delete@10:55 I know someone who has lived in Japan for 40 years. I totally respect everything she has told me about the culture there and the gun control. Shootings are simply not an issue! She feels safe no matter where she goes in public or in crowds. Nobody has a gun and nobody needs a gun, other than the farmer that lives near her. His process of having to periodically report and re-register the gun and the ammunition is a model of civility for the rest of the world.
Delete3:23, that's awesome for Japan, but I just don't see criminals, gangsters, terrorists, etc., complying with something like that, and then everyone else is a sitting duck.
DeleteJust heard that Grandma Dugger died today.Soo sorry for all the family.God bless each of you!
ReplyDeleteI am heartbroken about Grandma Mary's death! Literally found tears splashing down my cheeks when I read about that. Praying for the entire family as they prepare to lay her to rest.
ReplyDeleteWhy are we seeing so much of Tyler lately?
ReplyDeleteHe lives with them
DeleteSince he's living with the Duggars, it's normal for him to be in the photos of the family.
DeleteVery sorry about your recent loss and I advocate health for all human beings but you people really need to stop worsting our resources. We can't support you. We don't have the resevoirs nor utility companies. And maybe you do, have solar and home teach, but quite honestly, if you keep advocating what you do -we will reach capacity within fewer years due to you. Mother Nature isn't designed to support you. Are you positive you want to make this type of contribution? Is God operating at your convenience or you His. You have followers, but do you know how many you have disacquainted with? Times ten. Thanks for the teaching; we are getting the picture. Best way to kill truth is to organize it. No offense intended, but we really don't like what you are doing to our populous and our land. Take some of that Duggar money and feed the poor. All you are doing is borrowing fame (get a load of the children; they're desparately trying to help the world inbetween gunshots and magazine covers) and on T.V. and multiplying because you are well, making money off T.V. You're Capitalists that pretend they aren't and many folks know it. Are you really sure this is what your God wants.
Delete2:31, I don't even know where to start.I will say that you know nothing about them if you say they pretend not to be capitalists. They are business owners! Maybe Google the definition of capitalism. I would far rather the economy be run by the private sector than the government, who historically runs programs with inefficiency and wastefulness. Why would we want to put our fate in the hands of centralized power that way? Socialism has a pretty murky history and doesn't look any healthier or appealing now. Maybe a relocation to Venezuela will change your perspective.
DeleteWhat i dont understand is why they are not allowed to dance but they do play shooting games. But we all decide for ourselves off course. The same with how they dress. But i love this family anyway
ReplyDeleteSDC has a dress code that says all visitors are requested to wear shorts or pants while on the rides or attractions, because it's a "family friendly" park. How is sending little girls with dresses to this park appropriate? Or Michelle in her skirt? Don't rules apply to Duggars?
ReplyDeleteRequested isn't the same as required, and you don't know that they aren't wearing shorts or leggings underneath.
DeleteI think the girls wear shorts or leggings/pants under their dresses so the park is OK with that.
DeleteThat must be terribly hotter than wearing shorts.
DeleteWe saw them there!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the target practice pic!
