Yesterday was Election Day in four states, as residents in Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, and Texas headed to the polls to choose their choice candidates in the primary races. The Duggars, who have always been actively involved in politics, took time out of their days to exercise their civic duty.

Isn't Gideon Forsyth just the cutest?
Jill (Duggar) Dillard votes with Israel Dillard and Samuel Dillard in tow
Won't be too long before Josie Duggar is old enough to vote!

Israel sure is growing up!!! Hardly recognized him.
ReplyDeleteGideon definitely looks like Austin! They all look so good!
ReplyDeleteWho will be first to point out that Samuel has outgrown that car seat by a mile? OK, I volunteer.
ReplyDeleteSamuel has the best facial expressions.
DeleteThe Dillards also posted pictures of Israel in a too-small car seat. People defended it by saying the Dillards were in Central America and didn't have access to a new one. You would expect Jill to know about proper car seat safety with as many kids there have been in the Duggar family or at least once she had Israel.
Thanks for volunteering. But it looks like he's fine.
DeleteYou can't possibly tell that by this picture.
DeleteWho will be first to point out that Samuel has outrageously made us sincerely smile? OK, I volunteer.
DeleteWho will be first to point out that Samuel has outgrown your callous words by a mile? OK, I volunteer.
DeleteAs he is not yet 1 year old, the safest form for him is the one he is in.
DeleteSamuel is not to big for the carseat. He's not even 1 yet.
DeleteIt really depends on where you live, here in my state they recommend they stay in a rear facing seat until 2 years old, even if their legs are cramped in the seat. It may even be a law here at this point, but my kids are well over that age so it doesn’t apply to us anymore.
DeleteSurely they can find a car seat that is suitable for him in the family "warehouse".
DeleteA lot of newer seats go rear facing til age 2
DeleteHow do you see such? Aren’t those car seats meant for up to 40 lbs? He doesn’t look too big to me... and I’ve had 4 kids
DeleteLet's move beyond the car seat issue folks
DeleteOP is right. His head is too near the top of the seat. There should be more room above his head than what the seat is giving. He has outgrown it. Sorry you got snarked on OP, but you are right.
DeleteAnon 1217
DeleteI agree. Such cute kids.
Those up to 40lbs ones are convertible that can be rear or forward this infant one looks like the type that goes to about 22lbs.i don't think he's too big yet but getting close. I think the angle makes the head higher up in the seat then it is since he's leaning forward so looks bigger
DeleteLol. Anonymous @ 12:17
DeleteAnd yep Anonymous @ 1:32 that’s exactly what my kids pediatrician tells me.
I have 2 lo. Children in UK must be rearfacing until age 2. The weight restriction for most of these types of chairs is actually 10kg.This little boy looks to me like as though his head is nearing the top of the seat and he's quite long so while it may look like he's outgrown it I would say he's on the upper limit. I'm sure Jill is fully aware she has two tall boys. I've had this experience with my first and he outgrew his well before he was 1
DeleteI dont think the writer meant to big for A carseat but rather too big for THAT carseat. Its probably not an extend2fit. Just my opinion.
DeleteThe more pressing question is, how many people can get so involved in a discussion of another person’s car seat choice. I didn’t realize it was such a controversial subject. Let the law and the parents choose the correct safety seat.
Delete11:37, By the time the law gets involved in a car seat issue, it's usually too late... I think everyone here would love to see some sort of assurance that Jill and the other girls know proper car seat use. So far we've only seen pictures like this and also Jill balancing a car seat on top of a stroller. Nobody wants to see those precious babies get hurt so of course it's a good thing to talk about it, especially if you see it being done wrong. Maybe it will stop someone else from making the same mistake. Maybe one of the Duggar girls will read this and then find the manual for the seat to check when it says a child has outgrown the seat.
DeleteMost seats say that the top edge should not be below tue middle of the child's ears. Samuel has clearly not outgrown his carseat. Seriously, people! Nothing but stupid criticism!
DeleteIsn't that a guideline for an older child in a different kind of seat (a booster-type car seat), 5:40? Not someone Samuel's age, whose head should be well within the framework of that seat, with extra room above it. And his head is not.
Delete5:40pm - You're spreading false and dangerous information. A baby has far outgrown their carseat if the top edge is at the middle of the ear. Baby's head should be at least an inch below the top of the car seat. Please read updated information and take note.
DeleteI remember that the same thing happened when Israel was growing out of his car seat, yet Jill would post pictures of him sitting in a seat that was too small. Unfortunately, I think this is an ongoing problem in that family. It wasn't until Derick's mom bought a new car seat (when they got back from Central America) that he was finally in a better seat.
Delete12:07 pm. Even by the rule you stated, Gideon is still not too big for his carseat. Pretty sure if he laid his head back, it would be at least an inch, if not more, away from the top of his seat. Why does everyone have to be so judgy?
Delete10:25 am, Yes! You're right. Thanks so much for the correction! 😊
DeleteThat baby is so adorable! :)
ReplyDeleteWe all vote by mail in my state now, which is great because of how much it’s increased participation. We have a couple weeks from the time we get our ballots to turn them in, and there are drop boxes for people who don’t trust the mail, don’t want to pay for the stamp, or wait until the last minute.
ReplyDeleteThe one thing I don’t like about it is that we can’t take our kids to the polls anymore. I used to love going with my parents when they voted, and I loved taking my daughter with me. I’m glad to see that at least some of the Duggars take their kids to the polls with them.
I wish my state would do that. I am unable to go to the polls due a medical problem and have to request an absentee ballot every election which is a pain because I have to explain WHY I need it every time and send the explanation back to the registrar of voters before they'll send me the ballot. I consider it a real nuisance.
DeleteThat is a nuisance, and a waste of everyone’s time. I wish it was an easier process for you.
DeleteMaybe if you wrote a letter explaining the situation to your state elections board or commission, pointing out that it’s likely there are many other people in similar circumstances to yours, and suggesting the state establish a permanent absentee list, they would consider it. It’s possible that they’ve never considered the issues you have to deal with to access your constitutionally protracted right to vote.
I think ADA includes a requirement for equal access, though I don’t know if that applies to you.
That’s awesome! What state do you live in? How do you seal the ballot to prevent voter fraud.
DeleteOregon
DeleteOur ballots come by mail, and are individually addressed to each registered voter. We get 2 envelopes to use to return the ballot. The inner one is a secrecy envelope, and has no identifying information in it. Using it is optional.
The outer return envelope has a line for your signature on it, and your ballot is invalid if it’s not signed. I think your address might also be on the outer envelope, but I’m not certain of it. When we register to vote here, we provide a signature on the registration form, and somehow they use that to validate the signature on our returned ballots. I know 2 people who were called in for signature verification when the ones on return ballots had been flagged as unverifiable.
It’s also worth noting that even though I get a lot of mail for previous residents of my address, I’ve never gotten a ballot for someone who doesn’t live here, so they seem to do a pretty good job of sending ballots where they are supposed to be sent.
If you make a mistake when filling out your ballot, you can go to an elections office and turn it in for a replacement one. The original is invalidated. If your ballot doesn’t get to you for some reason, you can go in and get one in person. You do have to verify your status as a registered voter to do so.
I think that covers all of it. One of the biggest benefits of our system, other than convenience and greatly increasing participation, is that there is always a paper trail.
That is really interesting Anon 1:47. Thank you for answering my question. I would love that here in Iowa. We live quite a ways out in the country.
DeleteHow are the Duggars active in local politics? Do they work at the polls, help register people to vote, run for office, work on political campaigns for candidates they support? Just going to the poll and casting your ballot isn't being "active" in politics.
ReplyDeleteAs long as there's a conservative running, they get active.
DeleteSome of the younger Duggars helped campaign for Bob Ballinger, he posted pictures on his Facebook of them holding signs. Also, Bob’s son Bobby is married to Austin’s sister (Bobby was Austin’s best man), so Austin and Joy probably helped him campaign as well
DeleteThey have actually volunteered at, and spoken at many campaigning events in Arkansas, and D.C.
DeleteIf you've watched them for years, you'd know that the kids started campaigning for politicians back when their dad ran for state office. Since then they've helped with their brother's campaign when he ran for a local office, as well as campaigning for people like Rick Santorum. While I don't know the full details, I do know they've done more than vote over the years.
DeleteThey have actually done all those things. If you watched 19 Kids and Counting and followed this blog, they've both mentioned the Duggars' involvement with politics.
DeleteTheir father was in the state legislature in Arkansas, and yes, they're politically active. They lobby for conservative candidates and use their TV fame to do so. The oldest son was formally employed by a lobbyist group.
DeleteJoy Anna and Jill are so beautiful! Also this post has inspired/reminded me to reiterate the importance of being actively involved and voting with my own children. Good Reminder- thanks Duggar girls!
ReplyDeleteJoy looks beautiful with sweet Gideon - lost the young girl look.
ReplyDeleteCute pic of Austin! I mean Gideon. :)
ReplyDeleteJosie is growing up, looking like Jackson!
ReplyDeleteI've always thought that Jackson & Josie are similar especially in build.
DeleteI’m surprised josie’s hair is still so light. And Gideon is a carbon copy of Austin hahaha
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how much Gideon looks like his dad! Joy look beautiful. So does Jill. All of these kids are gorgeous . To me Jose looks like a carbon copy of Michelle!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! Of all the kids, Josie looks so much like Michelle.
Deleteshe Looks so happy and healthy. She just is lighter complexion that goes with her very light hair. She is a cool kid, with plenty of spunk.
DeleteTime 2:21pm
ReplyDeleteHappy Wed 5/23/18
Gideon looks so cute when he had the funny smile & Look on his face.
JOY U LOOK 100% HAPPY, AND YOUR "LITTLE ON" SOOOO CUTE!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh my! Gideon is Austin's mini me! So cute and Joy looks wonderful!
ReplyDeletePlease more info about Josie and her health problems. I pray tot her.
ReplyDeleteShe looks petite in the pic. I hope she is doing well too :)
DeleteWhat ever happened to her seizure disorder?
DeleteAfter the claim that the Duggars have been "politically active" for years it would be nice if there was some information on what they actually do (besides vote) that would support that statement.
ReplyDeleteWell, Josh was a spokesperson for the Family Research Council. That's quite a politically active organization.
DeleteRight? Plus the title says “and enjoy the outdoors”. Where’s that part of the post?
DeleteThey attend rallies in support of specific people and causes, and Jim Bob ran for office.
DeleteFortunately or unfortunately, depending on how you see it, it's a true statement. Look up who they've supported in the past and some of the other political things they've done to try to sway voters. It's very eye-opening. But it's hardly ever addressed on their show, except when they slide downhill on old campaign signs. If TLC had made the Duggars talk openly about everything, they (TLC) probably would have gotten a lot more mail.
DeleteIt would be nice if Lily and Ellie could post some kind of "official" statement, but there are many replies to a similar question by an Anon posted at 10:41 AM that chronicle the political activity of the Duggars.
DeleteThe Duggars have posted many pics of themselves on SM campaigning for politicians and joining in pro-life protests. Jim Bob has actually been elected to office himself (AK State legislature) and Josh got his ill-fated stint with the Family Research Council mostly due to his father's political connections.
I actually find it ironic that now people are questioning how politically active they are, after so many years of them being accused of being TOO politically active and "trying to force their beliefs on others" and such.
Gideon's mouth! Its so big for a baby!
ReplyDeleteIt’s just the way he is holding his bottom lip.
DeleteHe has his mom's thick bottom lip and his dad's eyes and nostrils.
DeleteGideon’s facial expression is adorable in that picture. And it’s nice to see a picture of Jill where she’s not doing the 😲 face. She looks nice.
ReplyDeleteI know! That surprised face is starting to get annoying. She looks great here
DeleteAgree.
Deleteoh the babies... sweetness and Josie so big
ReplyDeleteIf the Duggars feel so strongly about voting and their other American rights, why haven't any of them joined the military to help uphold and defend those rights?
ReplyDeleteI agree!
DeleteGood question. Why doesn't one of them run for political office also?
DeleteEveryone gets to make their own choices about going into the military. Being in the military isn’t the only way to support American rights. Voting, writing your congressman, making phone calls, keeping up with current legislation, etc. are all important.
DeleteActually, Jim Bob and John David have both run for office, Jim Bob successfully.
DeleteTry telling a soldier coming back from deployment that their service to the country is akin to “writing your congressman.” By the way, they’re underrepresented for sure but let’s not forget there are women in Congress.
DeleteYou really think the only way to demonstrate patriotism is by enlisting? You're very wrong.
DeleteI didn't know that (7:42)!! What office did they hold?
DeleteOf course there are many ways to be patriotic. The military is only one out of many. Maybe the blogger was wondering, with the odds of having so many children and now spouses, why no one has shown an interest in military. It’s seems likely that it’s not an opposition to guns. But military is a choice, and if none of the kids choose that; then, because we have freedoms here, it is their right to choose their own endeavors.
DeleteJohn David was an elected constable. Remember, he rode around in the police car with Jim Bob, even though neither of them were actual policemen.
DeleteI'm curious to know what the Duggars would do if the draft were reinstated. Would they register as conscientious objectors, as some fundamentalist religious people do, or would they serve their country? Does IBLP have a rule about that?
Delete9:23- It is unusual. This huge family and not a single one has enlisted in the military. It's not out of line to ask if they find this objectionable.
DeleteJoy is thankful for the right to vote. I wonder what other feminist rights she is thankful for?
ReplyDeleteShe’s far from a feminist, so I doubt she even thinks about that stuff. She’s attended pro-life rallies, so in my opinion, she’s actually trying to take feminist rights away.
DeleteYou're right, 10:49. Taking away the right to vote from all those females by not allowing them to be born is SO pro-female.
DeleteSome people don't consider murder a right of any sort.
DeleteFeminists are for abortion and that should be illegal...or at least done NOT on the taxpayers dime
DeleteActually, it's the pro-choicers that are taking away feminist rights. Half of all babies murdered in the womb are FEMALE.
DeleteAnon 12:00. Now that is a twisted bit of logic. When you take away a living breathing woman's right to make her own decisions then you have overstepped yourself. Many people and the Constitution say the unborn are not citizens and therefore their "rights" are non-existant.
Delete12:00- If a fetus dies late in pregnancy, we call it “still birth” and, by law, issue a death certificate. If the pregnancy ends early on, we call it “miscarriage.” It’s traumatic, a terrible loss for some, but most of us think of it differently than we think of a still birth. We don’t require death certificates for miscarriages. Recognizing this difference and like it or not, the Supreme Court in Roe v. Wade created the “trimester” system to sort through the legal implications of the constitutional “right to privacy” they said we all have as Americans. The justices ruled that the early and late stages of pregnancy are morally and legally distinct. Early on, in the “first trimester,” the embryo undeniably is life, but it’s not “a human being” in the personhood sense of the term. At this stage of fetal development, a woman’s right to privacy trumps any state interference that is meant to protect an embryo.
DeleteBTW, if you want to get Biblical, the Scriptures refer to human life beginning with the "breath of life", and says nothing about conception. You are free to practice your religious beliefs and never have an abortion. You are not free to make decisions for someone else who may consider having one. Perhaps more time and energy would be better spent advocating for the living who are suffering in this world.
10:15, please cite where the Constitution says the unborn are not citizens.
DeleteOk. Let’s go back to the argument about car seats.
DeleteAnon: 11:17. Feminists are not "for abortion". Mostly they want women to be able to chose what they want to do. Be careful what you wish for. If abortions are illegal then a doctor could be prohibited by law to perform a procedure to save your or a loved one's life. BTW abortions are NOT done with taxpayer money.
DeleteAnon 11:17. I have no problem with your opposition to abortion, but you should not support your position with false statements. Feminist are "not for abortion" but rather for women being allowed to make their own decisions. Since abortions are not paid for with tax dollars you should not insinuate that they are. Please try to be most honest in the future.
Delete12:00- Up to 25% of all known early pregnancies end in miscarriage. The number could be greater, as some women are not even aware they are pregnant. There is no death certificate for a miscarriage, so your assumption that an early abortion is murder is a fabrication. Furthermore, forced birthers, such as yourself, want to make another woman's pregnancy their business. Criminalizing abortions could potentially set the stage for violating a woman's privacy by subjecting her to interrogation and questioning circumstances, even if she miscarried at home.
DeleteSimply put, the government, or you, has no business dictating that a woman must continue an early pregnancy. That decision is hers and hers alone.
Saying that feminists are for abortion is a very broad generalization. I consider myself a feminist, which means I believe that women shouldn’t be treated like 2nd class citizens simply because of their sex and should have the same rights and opportunities as men. I am not, however, “for abortion”.
DeleteWho knows? Maybe she's thankful for the right to drive a car.
DeleteFact Check #1: You will not find the word "unborn" anywhere in the Constitution. Therefore, there is nothing in the Constitution declaring that the "unborn" are not citizens.
DeleteFact Check #2: Calling a developing baby, at any stage of development, an "unborn" is a desperate attempt to avoid calling the baby a baby or a human being. Given that the definition of pregnancy is "to be carrying young within one's body" and pregnancy tests confirm the presence of hCG (HUMAN Chorionic Gonadotropin- generating after the fertilized egg is attached to the uterine wall, complete with unique Human DNA), it is a living human being via Science's own definition. With multiplying cells dividing and reproducing at an established rate (Scientific Observation), left unmolested, will produce an observable baby inside the womb.
Agree 100% not my choice to make for anyone else.
DeleteWhere in the Constitution does it say the unborn are not citizens?
Delete10:15 AM- talk about twisted logic! Your mind is twisted if you think the unborn are not citizens! They are children of God. Read about what Kermit Gosnell did. You should be so ashamed for posting what you did and you will answer for it one day
DeleteThe US government also once said that black people were not citizens and had no rights. Were they right? Your logic is flawed.
DeleteThe biggest problem I have with the anti-abortion crowd is their assumption that they have some sort of right to force all women to comply with their opinion by enacting legislation. If you believe that abortion is wrong, don't have one. Judges have regularly ruled that pregnant women are NOT two people in traffic court so obviously the Constitution doesn't recognize a fetus as a "person". God doesn't care about embryos as 25% of pregnancies end in miscarriage and there's no telling how many fertilized eggs fail to implant. Give women that you don't know and have no connection with the right to make their own decisions.
Delete12:59 You are so right! All life is precious!
DeletePfftt... I love being a woman :) I love being a stay at home mom and having my man take care of me. I get treated with great respect. I would never go back to work.. who wants to be away from their kids all Day? I realize some don't have a choice and go them for doing that but we sacrificed a lot so that i could. I know many feminists who've gotten divorced because they were mean to their husband's. A man needs to be treated with respect too ;). Let the hate flow lol
DeleteWell said 9:38. As for divorcing because a spouse was mean-really? If its that superficial maybe it's better to do so.
DeleteWow 9:38 you could not be more wrong. God cares about fetuses too! If there is a miscarriage, well bad things happen. It doesn't mean we should be in control. We can't be in control, only God.
Delete2:18- Whatever works for you. Just pray that your “ man” stays healthy and outlives you.
DeleteI think having an abortion is just an excuse to run away from taking responsibility for one's actions. In the case of rape or any other reason, put the baby up for adoption. I know many parents who would be happy to take in a baby. That is showing true love and sacrifice.
DeleteYou know "many feminists who've gotten divorced because they were mean to their husband's [sic]." I'm wondering what sort of crowd you hang out with, 2:18, while you're staying at home. Many mean feminists?
DeleteMay 26@2:18- I know many stay-at-home moms who've divorced because their husbands treated them like doormats, or they were smiply unhappy. My own sister becamed widowed at a young age with three children to support. You see, for every personal observation you have, others have their own that will contradict yours. There are no one-size-fits-all approaches to life.
DeleteTo the poster at 12:59,
DeleteWe do “carry abortion out on dumb beasts” actually, and not only that, we eat those abortions. Your morning eggs were supposed to grow into chickens...
Anon, May 26 @9:38. There are so many flaws with what you said. First of all, you could just as easily say, "If you don't think robbery is right, don't do it" or "If you don't think lying I'd right, don't do it.". It's either right or wrong to kill and unborn child.
DeleteNext, many courts have charged people with vehicular hommicde when their actions have caused the death of someone else's unborn baby. Look. It. Up. Your claim does not hold water.
Last, saying God doesn't care about fetuses because 25% of pregnanies end in miscarriage is like saying God doesn't care about people because we all eventually die. God I'd the author of life. In His infinite wisdom, He knows the reason for everything. We have no right to play God and end innocent life.
Anon May 27 @ 9:14 am. You do realize how ridiculous part of your statement is, right? Your morning eggs would grow into chickens only if fertilized by a rooster. I know. We keep chickens, and that's how it works. Pretty simple biology, actually.
Delete😆 9:14! One of my professors called eggs “chicken abortions.” So gross! I stopped eating eggs!
DeleteAnon@8:44- So, you'd like to further traumatize a woman by forcing her to give birth, because she was the victim of a violent and dispicable crime? How very compassionate of you. Here's a tip- Let's just continue to have women in those circumstances decide for themselves what is best. Her rights far outweigh those you think an embryo should have. Furthermore, no woman should ever feel obligated to provide a baby for someone else to adopt. That is sick thinking. The law, and choice, is on her side in this matter- thankfully! (BTW- I am an adoptive parent of two great kids, now grown. I am thankful that their birth mothers were not forced to give birth under the threat of a punitive law.)
DeleteSadly, some women have been further traumatized by having an abortion and suffering with the knowledge that their baby - who is half theirs - was murdered with their permission.
Delete11:07--It is not your place to decide what is right for a woman to do with her pregnancy, regardless of the circumstances. Not everyone believes that early abortion is murder and the law supports a woman's right to choose. End of story.
DeleteHaving worked in a pregnancy help center that offers counseling for any woman post-abortion (regardless of the time frame), abortion stays with a woman for a lifetime, even though her baby didn't. You can't run, hide, or busy yourself from yourself. Many convince themselves it doesn't matter because they want/need to believe that in the moment or immediately after, but it's kind of like the tell-tale heart. In our private moments, we all know what we've done. It's a terrible thing to try to outrun and to carry (much less for years).
Delete2:22 - see 8:44's comment. It backs up what I said in 11:07 (which was not claiming my place to "decide" anything - it was commenting on what some women have suffered post-abortion).
Delete3:03- If it's true what you say, that it's not your place to decide anything, then you must be pro-choice. Let current law prevail and let each woman decide for themselves regarding abortion...right?
Delete7:57, I am not 3:03, but let me say that just because a country makes something legal doesn't mean that it is right.I am thankful that we have a president who is standing up for the defense of precious babies.
DeleteAbortion is never the answer.
Nope, 7:57. My right to choose ends when it comes to whether or I'm not I'm choosing to end someone else's life. I shouldn't have the right to choose that.
DeleteSome of these commentors on this site are unbelievable! It seems some questions are not really the person being sincere in asking, but rather, injecting the "question" with oozes of jealousy and bitterness maybe those particular commentors ate unhappy with their own life. Jealousy and envy do you no good in your life!
ReplyDeleteNot everyone who asks a probing question or has a valid point or opinion is jealous of the Duggars. If anyone is jealous of them, it would be the people who follow them and believe everything they see on the show without question. Not everyone is so easily convinced though. Those people would like some discussion about what they see and hear. So there is a Comment section here, with a moderator. I don't think that's anything to complain about.
DeleteI think it's to the point where people come here just to criticize the Duggars. Such people must have nothing better to do. I feel sorry for them.
Delete12:02, what exactly have the Duggars done lately that deserves great praise? I've watched them from the start and I think things have gone downhill, not up. It's like they're not even the same family any more. I know I'm not the only one who feels this way.
DeleteThank you, Anon 7:51, very well said.
DeleteI don't think everyone who critiques the Duggars are jealous and many of the questions (such as about their birth plans) are out of sincere concern.
DeleteHowever there DOES seem to be a tendency of some to go out of their way to not only find something to critique them for, but to really make mountains out of molehills such as a car seat that might be tad too small for Samuel, or whether the Vuolos kitchen is too cluttered, or whether Gideon should wear socks or not, or whether it's ok for Hannie to pose with a bicycle without a helmet.
Such questions give me the idea that the person asking them is already convinced that the Duggars are irresponsible, careless, bad parents, who can't be trusted to raise their own kids. But why post such nitpicky critiques on a fan site? I know there are plenty of sites out there dedicated to hating the Duggars and all they represent. Why not post there?
Gideon looks like the baby version of Shecky Greene or some other stand-up comedian. Looks like he's just told a joke.
ReplyDeleteEither that or he just put his diaper to good use, and the joke's on Joy who has to change it! lol
DeleteLeaving the house to vote = enjoying the outdoors? Did part of the post get cut?
ReplyDeleteLittle Gideon is adorable! Israel and Samuel are cuties too! Josie looks like she's doing great! I suspect, as a preemie and the last of the family, she likely gets lots of attention. So glad she made it!
ReplyDeleteJosie does not look ok. She looks like she has health problems.
DeleteAnon 5:30. How can you determine Josie's health by looking at a picture? She doesn't appear to have any obvious signs of health problems to me.
DeleteHow is Kendra doing?
ReplyDeleteWe have not seen pictures of her for at least two months. Is everything OK?
I think Kendra is just more private.
DeleteYou are right. I didn’t think of that. I miss her sweet face.
DeleteI agree 10:28, and I think that is a smart choice for two reasons. 1. She won't be criticized for the smallest details of her life. 2. The audience will look forward to her segments on the show because they haven't seen it on social media months in advance. I think that would be a smart thing for all the Duggars and Duggar in-laws to do.
DeleteGood for her being more private! I don't want people nosing in my affairs, either.
DeleteI'm sure she's fine. She didn't grow up in front of TV cameras so she doesn't share everything.
DeletePerhaps she has some common sense and prefers to keep her life as private as possible. She doesn't owe anyone regular updates on anything. Move on.
DeleteIt is not private if you are on tv. Fans would like more pictures.
DeleteI'm positive she's being filmed for the new season, so how that's being "private," I don't understand.
DeleteJust because someone is on TV does NOT mean they signed away all their privacy rights. So would you also want access to Kendra's medical records, after all "it is not private if you are on TV"...Bzz, WRONG, if anyone leaked her medical records to, say, a tabloid, they'd be breaking the law. The Duggars who are suing various people for leaking court records about them, also would disagree.
DeleteIf all the members of the Duggar family were private Lily and Ellie would not have this blog and there would not be a show to watch...Jane
DeleteDoes Derick works anywhere? He used to be an accountant, and then they moved to Central America, so he quit that job. Not sure where he works since they were back a year ago?
ReplyDeleteI don't think he has a job. He was going to some sort of school and they were asking for donations to support them.
DeleteThe Dillards seem to be keeping this info a secret. Which is fine. But just say... "we'd rather keep that info private" instead of dancing around the topic? Does being a missionary pay a living wage for a family of 4? I honestly don't know. I had always assumed that missionary work is voluntary. But I don't know any missionary to ask...
DeleteThe training program he's in at his church doesn't pay anything. It does give them a place to live, but Derick has to come up with the money for his mission trips that are part of the training.
DeleteAnon 5:56. It usually depends on the missionary work being done. Typically short term mission trips are done by volunteers and at their own expense or are sponsored by a church or other organization. The people going on them use vacation time from their regular job to go. A missionary that serves on a normal mission (usually two years) has to secure support from somewhere (most often from churches, groups or family) to pay their expenses in the country they're serving in. Most countries won't grant a visa for missionaries unless there is a guarantee that the missionary has sufficient income to pay for their living expenses for their entire family while they're there. The country they're serving doesn't want the missionary having to seek employment in order to support themselves and/or their family
