Jill Duggar and Jessa Duggar skiing in 2011 |
Seven years later, the Duggars are back on the slopes. Jim Bob and Michelle and many of the kids, along with some of the Bates, are enjoying a vacation at Granby Ranch this week. The film crew is present so perhaps you'll be able to watch their adventure on an upcoming episode of Counting On.
Have you ever been skiing? How about skiing at Granby?

It would be so fun if you could chart out the vacations the Duggars take each year in some sort of visual fashion. Sometimes it is hard to keep track of all their travels!
ReplyDeleteHow about charting the volunteer work the Duggars do instead?
DeleteThe vacations are much more interesting.
DeleteWhat fun. I hope they have an excellent ski vacation. Eileen
ReplyDeleteThe Duggars and Bates skiing together. That's a bargain. They can use the footage on both shows.
ReplyDeleteYes, just like the Duggars and the Bates going away together for that anniversary. Doubling up on the trips and bringing twice the people is such a bargain.
DeleteSounds like a fantastic vacation, if you like skiing. Hope to see Duggars and Bates skiing on Counting On...Jane
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to watch! How fun!
ReplyDeleteLove Granby Ranch. Grand County is a second home. Winter Park and Mary Jane are just up the road and are great places to ski as well. #coloradolove
ReplyDeleteI hope they have fun but be safe aswell 💜
ReplyDeleteWe were just at Granby last month!!
ReplyDeleteYay! AND with regular ski pants on instead of skirts over ski pants!!!
ReplyDeleteActually, that picture is from 2011. When Jill and Jessa had yet to marry. So this isn't actually an example of them courageously (or scandalously depending on your POV) rebelling against their parents by wearing pants after marriage.
DeleteAnd if ski pants were approved by their parents, that means there was never a rule that "girls can never EVER wear pants for any reason". Here is a very good reason to allow it, to let them ski safely without getting tangled up in skirts. I also see the younger girls often wearing leggings under skirts or dresses.
They have mentioned in the past that pants are allowed for certain activities. They wore them in the show when sledding as well. It's hard to be immodest in snow pants
DeleteI loved skiing in my younger days, but have never been to CO. It’s on my bucket list!
ReplyDeleteI live in Colorado and Granby is a beautiful area. I've never skied there or been to the ranch, but my family has camped up there many times. Wishing the Duggars a good vacation.
ReplyDeleteTime 2:50PM Fri 3/16/18
ReplyDeleteNo I have never been sking. I seen actors & Actresses who played their characters doing sking. So that would be fun as for the episode of 19 kids & Counting no never seen that one.
That's so fun that they can share a vacation together. Hope they have a great & safe time!
ReplyDeleteMy family and I of 9 always go to Granby Ranch! Great place and not nearly as busy as Winter Park. We’ve been going there since 1989 and were just there in January. Hope y’all have a blast!
ReplyDeleteI've been to Granby but only during the summer. Great hiking in the area. This should make a nice episode on the show.
ReplyDeleteThis is so much fun for them! I have skied at Granby. We took a beautiful Amtrak train ride from California and stayed and skied and trained it back! A memorable experience in a very family oriented setting!
ReplyDeleteMy son and friends are there now.
ReplyDeleteI’m a Youth Director in Oklahoma. We had a group of 30 at Granby and got to meet Jim Bob, Michelle, and most all of the children. They were just as kind as they seem! Josie was a great little skier, too!
ReplyDeleteThey seem to take many vacations. Didn't they just go to New Zealand and the parents to Hawaii? Does Jim Bob work?
ReplyDeleteThey were featured speakers at IBLP conferences in Australia and New Zealand. I'm not sure if that counts as a "vacation" when it's work related.
DeleteThe Duggars own many income-generating properties.
DeleteWho not modest clothing. Why?
ReplyDeleteFinally a courtship! Duggar and Bates. Who would it be?
ReplyDeleteWHat do you mean a courtship? They’re friends, they can all go out together without their kids courting.
DeleteWhy are people always baying for a Duggar Bates courtship, the two families have met up to go skiing, why does that have to entail a courtship? The next oldest girl in the Duggar family is Hannie and at the age of twelve is too young to court even by Duggar/bates standards. Katie Bates is eighteen, and as the Duggar mens brides seem to be getting younger I suppose there might be the possibility, however that is assuming she likes one of the Duggar boys enough to want to court, and she might not! I find it awful how many fans of this show are so fixated on courtships, weddings and babies and as soon as one is over they start asking for the next. The irony seems to be lost on them that this is all these young people (and the show) have going for them, no college, no training for a career of their own choosing , no independant travel or own home, I find it all very sad.
Delete5.04am - I think you'll find many of Bates children have careers and gone to college - Erin has music degree, Zach policeofficer, Tori about to qualify as a fully trained teacher, Alyssa was a florist, Josie is now qualified cosmetologist working in a real(!) hair saloon, boys trained tree surgeons plus college, Nathan a pilot instructor and Lawson his own very profitable business and musician. Plus Nathan & Lawson have travelled to Asia together independent of family. Very different to the Duggars.
DeleteWell It would have to be Jana as she is the eldest Duggar sister
DeleteI've never been skiing but I have been snowboarding. I look forward to watching this episode. :)
ReplyDeleteJosh filed another lawsuit even though the last one was lost. Can you explain why?
ReplyDeleteIt's complicated. I read the article in the paper but I don't remember enough of the details to give a good answer.
DeleteReally? I'll have to research it, I had no idea he was doing tht.
DeleteI'm sure the Duggars and Bates would make great friends, but I simply can't afford to run in their social crowd. Trips to Australia and New Zealand followed by a family ski trip to a resort in Colorado are not within my means. Since they can afford that lifestyle they should enjoy it.
