Don't Have Cable? Watch Gideon's Birth Online

Joy-Anna Duggar and son Gideon Forsyth
Joy (Duggar) Forsyth, Gideon Forsyth, Austin Forsyth

Last week, we shared the link for the two, ten-minute TLC GO clips that feature Gideon Forsyth's C-section birth. In order to watch, viewers must sign in with their TV provider. We know that many of our readers don't have cable, so we wanted to give you an alternate way to view the segments.

One of the providers on the list is Philo, a company that offers paid Internet TV subscriptions. If you select Philo on the long list of providers, you will be redirected to the Philo website. There, you will be able to set up your subscription, which starts with a free trial that you can easily start by simply providing your cell phone number.

You will have 48 hours of free access, and then you will receive a text with instructions on how to unlock an additional five days of free access. If you like your experience, you can continue the subscription by paying a monthly fee.

To our knowledge, Philo is only available for those living in the United States. If you are one of our wonderful international readers, check out Wednesday's post for more details on Joy's labor and delivery.

We are not associated with Philo in any way.

  1. Isn't this birth going to be shown on one of the upcoming TLC episodes of CO? I really don't want to subscribe to anything or give anyone my phone number.

    1. No I agree, I'm not giving out my number either, don't want to get anymore junk calls and definitely don't want to subscribe to anything. Some company's have a way with not wanting to allow a person to unsubscribe and then it becomes a nightmare.

  2. Is TLC going to air Gideon's birth on TV after Joe and Kendra's Wedding? Thank you.....

  3. I hope TLC will show it on their network, doesn't seem right not too. I love the show so I hope I get to watch it.

  8. Thank you Lily and Ellie! They have both ten minute parts on Comcast on Demand now, so I was able to see them. Gideon sure is a big boy. Congratulations Joy and Austin!

  9. Why don't you add it to the available purchases on amazon?

    1. That's something that TLC would need to do, since it's their video.

      Have a blessed day,

  10. Why do these girls continue to have home births? When they know how dangerous they are? Does their husband have any compassion? Were is Michelle when her daughter is scearming in pain? Can you please ask them Lilly Ellie

    1. Who knows. Since they've always been able to get to the hospital and get assistance before there was a tragic outcome, they'll continue down this path. As for the husbands, they seem very compliant with whatever choice the girls make.

    2. I think the husbands just let the girls make the call. They're the one having the baby after all. As for Michelle, she has numerous children to look after and there's not anything she can do while the labor is going on.

    3. Just because a person has natural births doesn't mean they scream alot. I have five children, three were natural births and I never screamed. There's other ways to deal with pain.

    4. Are you claiming that there is no screaming in pain in hospitals?

      Delete
    5. Kids can have a way of making you want to scream for the next 18 years or so. You don't have to do it during birth. Plenty of opportunity later.

    6. Michelle was there with her daughter while she was laboring. Austin was there while his wife was laboring. They were both giving comfort and encouragement to Joy. What else do you expect them to do?

      Delete
    7. No, definitely not. I'm just saying if a person knows how to deal with pain, there won't be hardly any screaming. And I know labor is hard. I've had five children, the last one months ago. It was very intense. I'd pray, recite Bible verses, and squeeze something. That definitely helped. I know not everyone can have a natural birth. The lady in the next room was having a hard time. Everyone handles pain differently. And I've only had hospital births.

  11. Why go through all that signing up? Why not just put the clip here like others are viewable right here.

    1. Wish I could! TLC makes that call because it's their video. :)

  13. I wish TLC would air Gideon's birth during the season of Counting On. Same with Samuel's birth, TLC filmed it but didn't air it. Why is TLC doing that? ZERO airing of the births, yet they'll televise the weddings TWICE.

    1. The birth preview was on TLC last night after the regular episodem, so yes, they did air it.

  14. What is with this need to watch someone from a tv show in labour? Why isn’t just knowing everything turned out ok enough for the fans?

    1. Exactly my thoughts. I would not want anyone seeing me in labor. It's a very private matter. And very hard to retain modesty.

  15. Thank you so very much for this info. We recently got rid of satellite tv and are now streaming and I’ve tried everything I know to be able to watch. I’m going home and checking out Philo. Debbie G

  16. Ellie, was the scene with Gideon's gender reveal fake? In their congrats video, Ben said that Jessa came home and told him about the birth but in the show Ben was at the big house and learned the gender and size at the house. So, someone was lying and my guess is it's TLC.

  17. First I want to say congratulations to Joyanna and Austin on the birth of there little boy Gideon he is so cute he looks like his daddy but he has the digger chin . secondly it would be nice if everyone was more open about their lives like courtships, engagements, weddings, and announcing pregnancy and what they are having and when they are due it would be nice to hear about first hand and not have to wait until after the baby is born that would be nice thanks

  18. I think this family is a bit odd. A child is a blessing and should not be considered just another addition to the head count. I think there is something very wrong with sibling trying to out best one another in their race to see who can have the most children. I have to believe that financial gain is a big motivator for this family. I have never been a fan of the show and quite honestly, I find the whole thing sickening. It's all about the head count!

    1. I think your assumptions about their motives are odd. It couldn't possibly be about them personally loving children and desiring to be parents?

      Delete
    2. It's stands to reason that having one child after another can become a form of addiction, just like anything else that is carried to excess. Loving children and desiring to be parents is fine, but just because you are fertile and can keep having them, doesn't mean you should. Maybe put the brakes on at some point and consider adoption if you want more.

  19. Can't watch any video posted on TLC site since we're not in the USA... It's a joke. It won't let anyone in another country watch it.

  20. Where have they said it's all about the head count and that they're in a race to see who can have more babies? Just because they do nothong to prevent pregnancy doesn't mean that they're in a competition to see who can have more children. Be charitable!

    1. While certainly not the majority, many people have the same stance as the Duggars and Bates, to not use any form of BC and to welcome "as many children as God will send us". That's not the same as having as many children as humanly possible. And the majority of people who don't use BC do NOT wind up with 19 children.

Some of the comments about the Duggars remind me of comments about "welfare queens" accusing them of having babies for financial gain, just to get a fatter welfare check. Or comment accusing "illegals" of having "anchor babies" just so they can stay in the country. Very uncharitable, and IMHO with the same underlying condescending attitude that "we don't want THOSE people having too many kids".

  21. Why don't they show any thing about the adopted son, they never see anything about the young boy

    1. We've seen him in pictures and on the show with the other younger kids, but he's not adopted; they are foster parenting him.
