  2. Israel got left behind. That's kind of sad.

    1. I think Izzy enjoys his time with Cathy. He sure is with her enough.

    2. Samuel has to go since he’s still nursing, and Israel probably got to have some one on one time with his Grandmom

    3. Not sad. Israel was probably thrilled to have a week with sleepovers with family.

    4. He is safer there

  3. This is good news!

  4. Just wondered whose paying for their expenses I know this will be a top question asked since they are no longer on Counting On or getting paid from that.

    1. A mission trip is usually sponsored by a church or some other religious group. If it's part of some sort of program Derrick is involved in, then the sponsoring group would pay for the trip.

      Delete
    2. They didn't even get paid to appear on Counting On, if you believe Derick. This trip must be from the money he was trying to raise. But I don't recall mention of Jill going along or raising money herself.

    3. I thought Derick was doing that ministry course so I presume this is a part of that? Anyone know for sure?

    4. They do make money from tv show. And Jill did not get booted. I saw her on there after the thing with Derik. And why do people ALWAYS have to question decisions they make if they are not in line with what they would do? It's their life. And even if they weren't getting compensated, I'm sure the other kids would help them, just like they do Josh and Anna.

  5. How come they didn't take both kids with them

    1. Haven’t you noticed these quiverfull Mothers are NEVER with all their children at once? Doesn’t matter if it’s 2 or 19. They never actually take care of all of them.

    2. Sam is likely still nursing....

    3. It’s a short mission trip, Israel will have fun with his grandma Cathy or other extended family. Airports, flights, airport security....not much fun for young kids.

      Delete
    4. So 9:22 you are the "expert" when it comes to us quiverfull mothers? Please enlighte me on all the quiverfull mothers you have met and actually spoke to.

      Delete
    5. So very accurate @9:22. Having a lot of children isn’t the hard part. Raising them is. Most of us raise our children without using our older children, siblings or parents to do so.

      Delete
    6. 9:22. Sadly true.

  6. Why did Derick take his wife along? Do the other married students get to take their wives (and a baby) along, too? Unless Jill is enrolled in this program, I don't understand why she would have to go along.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. All the wives probably go

      Delete
    2. I don’t think Jill is able to cope on her own

      Delete
    3. Some wives LOVE ministry too!!! I'm the wife of a youth pastor and help as much as I can! And we have 6 kids, so nursing babies always come along!

      Delete
    4. Anon @ 12:21 It is one thing helping at your husbands church, it is another to tag along on the mission for your husbands church class which costs money to send you on. Jill is not in the programme, and should not be on the trip, no one else had young children or partners with them.

    5. Since this blog isn't about the other students there is no need to mention if they brought family or not. Some probably did bring family.

  7. I will looking forward to seeing pictures from their trip. I'll be praying for them.

  8. So glad to see you Jill and Derick. You are missed on the show. Hope eventually the show goes to another network like UP. God bless you in Guadalajara.

    1. Up would not touch them after all the drama!

  9. Awww I just got home from Guadalajara.
Anyways I doubt I would have seen them if I was still there.

  10. I hate that we can't see them on the Counting On series. It is so crazy when you cannot give an honest answer about your beliefs.

    1. Derrick and Jill QUIT the show. That was their choice. I'm always amazed by the number of fans who refuse to accept that and somehow blame TLC for their choice.

      Delete
    2. You are so right. If it wasn't a "religious" comment and and an athesist statement, it would have been ok, but if you say something that steps on the toes of the left, wow, they can get you fired.

      Delete
    3. Derick said he quit, please everyone stop blaming their absence on TLC

      Delete
    4. Derick didn't really give his "answer", because nobody really asked him a "question" about what his beliefs were concerning transgenderism.

      Delete
    5. They can talk about their beliefs. They do it all the time. Nobody's stopping them. That's the choice they have to make...stay true to their beliefs, which could be unpopular for TV and alienate viewers, or sell out for fame and money. You should be happy that they didn't sell out and bowed out instead.

      Delete
    6. I agree, if the roll had been reversed, and they said something about their religion which is said often, and is just as offensive, their show would not be cut for it.

      Delete
    7. If your beliefs bring you to not accept someone and attacking them, honestly I think you should put them aside and not express them.
Especially if the person you're attacking is a minor.

      Delete
    8. I watch the Jazz show (out of curiousity). Jazz and her family and friends routinely call people with different opinions bigots and haters. TLC has a double standard.

      Delete
    9. I do not pretend to understand transgenderism. However, I believe that Jazz and others are not being exploited for the sake of a Liberal agenda. That is just silly to me. I think she, yes she, has the right to her life. I also believe Derick has the right to his beliefs, but I think those beliefs could have been expressed without singling out a young person or a tv channel you have been working for. I think Derick has much to learn about humility, tact, and inclusiveness. I find him confrontational, self righteous, judgemental and makes sweeping generalisations that do more harm than good. It damages his positive messages. Eileen

    10. Right. It's OK for the president to do such things and stay in office. I see nothing wrong with stating your beliefs or disbeliefs, no matter how public you are.

  11. Israel didn't get to go to Mexico? Too bad. Maybe he can go next time and Sam will be left behind.

    1. As with Israel, Jill nurses for a long time. I'm thinking Samuel got to go because he is being nursed. I do not understand why Israel did not go. . .six days is a long time to be away from your parents. BUT JB & M. Duggar left their children many times - even when little Josie was having seizures. I couldn't be away from my children - at that age - for that long.
      To each their own.

    2. Israel is probably enjoying some Gramma Cathy time, and Samuel is probably with Jill because she is probably still nursing him.

  12. Wow! My cousins are currently in México DC visiting their cousins! Wait till I tell them the exciting news!

  13. They left Isreal behind?

    ReplyDelete
  14. Seriously, why would you take your little kids on a mission trip with you?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Because you're breast feeding your infant and so wherever you go, he goes

      Delete
    2. This is just a guess; but I believe that Samuel is still being nursed. If so, that would be a good reason to take him along. And Israel is much more active, so it will be a nice little vacation for him to stay with family.

      Delete
    3. Most likely because Jill is nursing Samuel. It does seems sad that they left Israel with someone else (I'm assuming family). Wondering why Jill couldn't stay home with the two children, like so many other wives and mothers do when they're husbands have to go away for their jobs for a week.

      Delete
    4. She is probably still nursing him therefore he goes

      Delete
    5. Maybe Sam is still nursing?

      Delete
    6. Beats me. If you were going somewhere as a missionary and were going to be there for a while, you'd take your family. But for 6 days? Seems a bit odd.

      Delete
    7. They probably took Samuel because he's nursing, and of course they didn't take Israel.

      Delete
    8. Perhaps she is nursing still.

      Delete
    9. I agree since Sam is nursing Jill should have set this one out.

      Delete
    10. Why is Jill along? She's not the one in that church program!

      Delete
    11. She was better off at home!

  15. I'm guessing Samuel is still being nursed.

  16. They are going to the state of Jalisco which has a level 3 threat of danger. The state department recommends Americans to reconsider traveling there. The drug cartels and violence is out of control. They continue to push their luck. Where they went before was risky and what about Zika?

    ReplyDelete
  17. It would be one thing if it were just Derick going on a mission trip as a single man, but taking your wife and kid(s) is quite another thing. These third-world nations can be very dangerous. I'm not too thrilled to hear the Dillards are leaving the US again.

    ReplyDelete
  18. It doesn't make sense. It's very dangerous. Shoot there'senough of them here in the states they could minister to.

    ReplyDelete
  19. TLC Issued a statement saying they fires Derek. So why shouldn't we blame them?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I thought TLC said they hadn't shown J&D on the show recently and "had no plans to show them in the future." That's all. I don't recall the word "fired" ever being used, by either side.

  20. Okay nice... looking well.

  21. Prayers for Jill,Derick and baby Samuel for a safe trip. Guess one of the grandparents are taking care of Israel. Hope Israel is okay with his entire family away.

  22. Did Israel stay with grandparents?

  23. This is a notoriously dangerous part of Mexico. I question the judgment of Jill and Derick. They are champions for the sanctity of life, even for the unborn, yet take such risks with their infant son- all for a mission of street evangelism in a city that is already overwhelmingly Christian. It seems they desire to convert the Catholics as they're in the vast majority. It is very difficult to understand their reasoning.

    1. I agree...plenty of people to help in the states. At least there are safer areas!

    2. There was a recent travel alert about places in Mexico to avoid. Guadalajara was in the top 5. I would not take a baby along, much less go myself!! Good luck.

    3. A family from Iowa was vacationing in Mexico and all were found dead in the room or hotel they stayed in. Not sure what happened but I sure as heck would stay far away from the 3rd world

  24. How they can afford to travel like this and do stuff like donate to political campaigns, when Derick isn't working or volunteering on the TV show, is amazing. I need to take budgeting lessons from them.

  25. They look like they are doing well. Thanks for the update!

  26. What is their mission?

  27. Lol lol lol lol lol lol! I sit here and read these argumentative comments and I have to laugh and wonder if these people have a life. They try to figure out everything about the duggars lives and they criticize and judge every detail of their lives. What you need to do instead of saying negative things about this beautiful family, say positive things and end the comment. If you can’t say anything good don’t say nothing at all. You don’t know how they feel, you don’t know why they do certain things, you don’t know their pain, you don’t know their thoughts and you don’t know their concerns. I’m 73 and when I try to read some of these comments I have to stop reading some of them because your comments are childish. All I can say is, God Bless everyone in the Duggar family. Wonderful families 🌟😍🌟
