Forsyth Family, Party of 3

Three weeks after her emergency C-section delivery, Joy-Anna (Duggar) Forsyth is up and about. The new mom is all smiles as she poses with her husband and their son. Gideon seems to be pretty enamored with his daddy!

  3. Joy looks rather worn out. I hope she doesn't overdo it.

    3. She looks fantastic! Of course she's tired, she's just had a baby!

    4. EVERY mom looks tired 3 weeks after having a baby! Especially while healing from a c-section. Joy you look beautiful.

    5. I think so too. Hope she experiences a speedy and good recovery. Abdominal surgery can affect you for quite some time afterwards (not necessarily though)- so I hope she takes it one step at a time and only as long as she feel comfortable.

    6. She was pregnant, not ill. She had a c-section and is probably feeling good, like all new moms probably not getting a full nights sleep so a little tired. It’s good to get back to a bit of regular routine and social contact. She looks great and happy.

    7. I worry more about them having that little baby out in public in cold/flu season.

    8. Are new moms and their babies supposed to stay isolated from October through March? 7 of our babies were born in December, January, February and March. I usually started taking them out at around 2-3 weeks. None of them ever caught the flu, and only ever had minor colds, if at all. People just have to find something to criticize!

  4. What a beautiful family! Joy looks great! C-sections can take time to fully get over. Austin looks like a proud daddy, he has such a big smile on his face. Gideon looks like he so loves his daddy. We serve a awesome God. I pray they can lay aside all the junk surrounding the pregnancy, and continue to enjoy this time. They truly look like naturals.

    1. They both look exhausted which is pretty common with new parents. They should cut back on the TV appearances and try to get as much rest as they can.

  7. This is what Austin prayed for, his own family. Adorable photo, Joy and Austin enjoy your little man...Jane

  11. Joy looks very relaxed and lovely. Austin looks like one very proud papa. Baby Gideon couldn't be more precious the way he's looking up at his dada. A loving suggestion - please dress that baby warmer. Newborns need to be wrapped up cozy and warm from head to toe. It helps them feel more secure that way too:)

    1. I wrapped up my son in one of those wraps when he was a newborn and he cried and cried.. he was more content to move around and wave his arms and kick his legs around. Maybe the room where they're standing in IS warm!

  16. They look great, but of course they are tired! A newborn needs to be fed around the clock and the husband gets woken up too.

    1. That’s not necessarily true. My husband doesn’t get up to help with our youngest (2 months old). But that’s because he has a demanding job and an hour long commute, each way. I don’t mind letting him sleep at all!

  18. Joy's looking pretty good for having had a C-section just a few weeks ago (and being the mom of a newborn). Their little guy is adorable.

  20. C-sections are draining. I had one. She'll do fine.

  21. My goodness. They post a picture of their little family, sharing their happines and people start giving advice, opinions, and making up scenarios. They didn't ASK for advice. "Wrap the baby, unwrap the baby, keep the baby away from germs, Joy looks ill, she should be at home resting, she's trying hard to smile and stand...." Good grief. What is it about people that they just automatically offer up their opinion? Joy and Austin will do fine. Joy probably has more experience with babies than most of us combined. Just leave the kids alone and let them live life. And please don't say this is what they get for being "celebrities" and going public on a blog. That doesn't make it open season to criticize every move they make. Everyone should really mind their own business.
