"Congratulations, Joy and Austin. We are so excited for you guys!"
-Michelle Duggar
Jim Bob Duggar will soon be walking another Duggar daughter down the aisle. In case you haven't heard, Joy-Anna Duggar is engaged to long-time friend Austin Forsyth. (Click here to watch a video message from the happy couple.)
In the clip below, Jim Bob and Michelle share well wishes and words of encouragement with the soon-to-be newlyweds. Joy and Austin have not announced their wedding date, but if they choose to make it public, we will let you all know.
Congrats Joy and Austin!! Really like this couple and so excited to watch their courtship next season!! So good to see and hear from Jim Bob and Michelle - one would not know they still exist if not for this blog - TLC sure has them in exile!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if they will ever get out. I miss the entire family.
DeleteNot unless you can erase the past, Whammy.
DeleteAgreed. Frustrating the way TLC has exiled the rest of the family. I miss them all. So happy for Joy and Austin and wish them all the years of happiness that their lives can hold!
DeleteIt is my opinion that they should have called the newer should just "Counting On" instead of "Counting on - Jill and Jessa." If they don't want to include Josh in this, no problem. But besides Josh, and then Jill and Jessa, there are still 16 other kids in the family to include. We saw Jinger and Jeremy's wedding and next will be Joy and Austin's. There will be more. I think it is time to drop Jill and Jessa only in the title of the show and include all the kids (maybe minus Josh) and parents. Just call it "Counting On"
DeleteExile? I hardly think there's a conspiracy. Could it be that they prefer being away from TV?
DeleteIn regards to having JB and mother Michelle more frequently on the show, I truely don't understand the amnesia some viewer's seem to have.
DeleteTLC had clear reasons to remove and they were documented. It's nice to see the cameo clips happening more frequently. The kids are reflected being themselves now without not having their own voice which is refreshing to see since they are young adults now.
Maybe TLC will consider another show for the parents and younger family. The family dynamics has changed so much it's hard to guess.
I adore the Bates family and do miss watching their show.
the bates have their own show on UP TV, it's really good and in it's fifth season.
DeleteWill also add for those who don't know, but the ladies who have this Duggar blog also do one on the Bates as well!
DeleteWill also add that for those of you who follow the Bates family that Lily & Ellie have a wonderful Bates blog too!
DeleteThey've been engaged for one day. I doubt they have a wedding date yet, I could be wrong but that's a tad too early.
ReplyDeleteWell, she was already on their website header last year, and there are some weekends already blocked out at the camp, so who knows. Sounds like this was in the works a lot longer than let on.
DeleteMy husband and I decided the wedding date on proposal day! :)
DeleteCongrats on the engagement and can't wait to see the wedding. Just hope you show the preparation for the wedding is first then show the wedding. Love the show and the family.
ReplyDeleteSo happy to see Mr and Mrs.Duggar on here congratulations to Joy and Austin in their new chapter
ReplyDeleteMay God bless, protect and guide them.
ReplyDeleteI sincerely hope that Austin and Joy are respectful and kind to each other walking through life side by side.
That was one of the strangest videos yet. "Congratulations Joy & Austin, now let me spend the next minute talking about me and Momma." Also, he mentions that they will be a "ministry team." How about simply wishing them happiness as a married couple? No typical engagement emotions for the kids. Turned it around to be about themselves, and about being ministers. Oh my.
ReplyDeleteexactly my thoughts. Thank you!
Delete"He who is without sin cast the first stone!
DeleteI don't believe it was about that. I think he was sharing the principle set forward when he and Michelle began dating to use as advice, and that time goes by very quickly in general. Please put your hate somewhere else. This community is about positivity. You've surely heard of it?
DeleteWhat the parents mean about "ministering team" is as a Christian married Austin and Joy will be a ministry team. That means they will be ministering to their future children through prayer, teaching them about Jesus and His love etc. It will also mean ministering to people in their church congregation or missions.
Deletewhat a wonderful message
ReplyDeleteCongrats to you joy
ReplyDeleteSo young
ReplyDeleteNormally, I wouldn't agree that being young is bad, but I think Joy is really inexperienced and too naive to jump straight from home to marriage. I don't care if she's known him since birth. She's had an odd upbringing of being on TV and no time to get to explore what she might want out of life before being roped in by the first guy who came along. Still can't believe that "wise" parents are letting this happen.
DeleteShe's not that young!!! People get married everyday in their teen's.
Delete4:38- Just because you can, doesn't necessarily mean you should.
Delete@ 4:20
DeleteYes, but maybe she is ready. Just because they share their life's with us, doesn't mean we can tell them how to live it. All this hate is just mean and not going to help anything!
I don't think people are being mean so much as concerned for Joy. She comes across as a very young 19, and not necessarily ready for marriage and all that it entails.
Delete@10:05
DeleteThere's concerned and then there's hate. Joy is fine!
4:38p - I understand what you're saying.
DeleteResponsibilty wise Joy Anna probably surpasses many of her peers.
In that way she is ready for marriage more than many in her age group!
However, emotionally being the baby of the older girls, I think there is much she has been protected from.
Just the same, I (opinion) believed there was too much pressure placed on Josh being the eldest. He was probably not emotionally prepared to step outside his parent's home and stand alone as a Christian, husband, father and leader.
Either way I wish them all the best.
Who of us can say we were ready for all the adulthood challenges life has handed us.
Little by little your children are leaving the nest, but also, your family is enlarging little by little. Best Wishes to Joy and Austin.
ReplyDeleteJana is going to be left in the big bedroom with four young sisters, 11, 9, 8 and 7. That'll be lonely.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Jana got to move into Grandma Mary's former bedroom. An adult woman living in a dorm with little girls is demeaning.
DeleteIs there a ring? Anna, Jill, Jessa, and Jinger all showed their rings. I hope Joy-Anna would have a say in what she wants.
ReplyDeleteSince Jinger got a "simple" ring, then Joy will probably get a "diligent" one.
DeleteIf you zoom into the picture of Joy and Austin when they announced it, you can see a ring on her finger. It looks beautiful.
DeleteOh come on can we just stop with the hate!
DeleteLOL!! Practicle and sturdy for a long day's work!!!
DeleteJinger never showed off her rings..there was one pic I think and was very basic. Unlike Jessa who has been pictured in 3 different engagement rings. Some people don't like to show off their rings to the whole world
DeleteShe'll need a ring that can endure fence mending.
DeleteFence mending sounds fun. There's nothing like physical work. Love it!
DeleteWow! Seems like yesterday Joy was a cute little tomboy. Now she's a beautiful young woman getting married. I'm happy for them but it really puts a lump in my throat. Feels like she's my niece or something. I've watched her grow up and love her and her family. God bless them with a long and happy life together
ReplyDeleteIt makes me feel so old and I am only 34.
DeleteNo kidding! I'm almost 37 so that makes me feel double old haha.
DeleteCongratulations!! I wish you both many good tidings, love, JOY and much happiness🌹May God Bless you now and forever 🙏😇💞
ReplyDeleteNice shirt Michelle, as always.
ReplyDeletecongratulations Joy and Austin so happy for you and may God Bless you in your up coming marriage
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! Didn't even realize Joy was old enough to get married! Man they grow up fast. Congratulations! Prayers for a long and prosperous life. Keep Jesus the center of your relationship at all times. I know you've been taught that!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Joy and Austin I wish you good tidings, love Joy and so much much happiness 💐💐
ReplyDeleteMay God be with you both now and always.💍💞💞💖💖
I really thought Jim Bob was going to make a straight line with his hands. God on top, the husband right under that, and the wife below the husband. That's the patriarchal system they've told us many times that they follow, so why state it any other way?
ReplyDeleteYeah - all of a sudden it's a triangle? With equal angles for all? It was always God, man, woman, kids, in that downward order.
DeleteHe had to make a shape with both hands so Michelle could point. Teamwork!
DeleteWhat a wonderful illustration of the importance of keeping God at the center of your marriage.
ReplyDeleteI agree 7:56!
DeleteSending my love to the happy couple💝 ps..ignore the rude comments everyone is entittled to love, peace and joy😁
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to the both of you!!!
ReplyDeleteMay you live happily, healthy, in your honeymoon period. Hope you have a fantastic wedding and a wonderful honeymoon. Enjoy your life together before starting a family!!! Much love and happiness during this exciting time. Hope to see your wedding!! Much love, faith, happiness!!! Godbless from the Stewart family, South Bend, IN.
Great advice!!! Thanks! I've geard this before, but a good reminder!
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling if Jim-Bob doesn't put Michelle on a pedestal, Michelle would tell him about it. I rather see very little of those two on the show. But I' happy for Joy, if that's what she really wants.
ReplyDeleteMs. Duggar ist so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous 3/6 @2:17AM...is that you, Jim Bob?
ReplyDeleteCan't be JB. He calls her "Momma" not "Ms. Duggar."
DeleteWell, Jim Bob most often comments that Michelle "is so beautiful" even where it doesn't need to be interjected. It loses it's luster after a short time. Tired of hearing "how beautiful she is".
