ReplyDeleteJill and Jana are so beautiful. How many baby's did they deliver!!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Lily and Ellie!
ReplyDeleteI was wondering if Jill has her ears pierced?
Thanks!
hope they get a COLLEGE DEGREE FOR THIS> I WOULDNT want them helping me unless someone with a degree was there to oversee.
ReplyDeleteIn the state of Arkansas, the midwifery program is governed by the dept of health. It is an intensive apprenticeship program which requires many many hours of training, book learning and on the job experience. Midwife apprentices work under the direct supervision of a licenced midwife. After completing the required number of prenatal and delivery/births they are allowed to sit for the NARM exam. Then they can be licensed to practice in Arkansas and can apply for national certification. To keep their licensing and certification they are required to do yearly CEU's. Other states have different licensing requirements but Arkansas midwives are very well trained and do their job very well. I have been privileged to work closely with several and have every confidence in their abilities.
DeleteTalk about being photogenic!
ReplyDeleteThey're like Shiphrah and Puah from Exodus, the Hebrew midwives.
ReplyDeleteI believe you have to be certified. to do this sort of thing on you own. They are taking classes online. It is my understanding that classes online come with some sort of degree when finished.
ReplyDeleteI love all the Duggars they all have to be angles here on earth !
ReplyDeleteSO SAD SOME OF YOU ARE SO FOCOUSED ON THERE LOOKS. WHAT IF THEY WERENT PRETTY? FEEL BEING KIND AND GOD FEARING IS MORE IMPORTANT . GOD LOVES ALL. TOO MATERIALISTIC ALWAYS FOCOUSING ON LOOKS. Just my opinion.
ReplyDeleteThey r truly gifted all the duggars r my dream is too meet them and just have true sit down with. them we need more familys like them in this world
ReplyDeleteI hope they go to college and become nurses.
ReplyDeleteLily and Ellie, we were just wondering if the Duggars ever look at this blog site? My mother and i would like to personally thankyou both for a safe and respectable site. How lucky you are to have a close relationship to the Duggars. Will you ask them to pray for Jen Arnold and family, ( The little couple on TLC) as the are going thru a serious health crisis. Thank You again for all you do for us . We pray for you, your family, friends, and of course the Duggar clan. ;*} Sincerely, Linda and Natalie

ReplyDeleteHi Linda and Natalie,
The Duggars do look at our site. Here's a funny story for you: Anna told us last year about a time she was making dinner and couldn't find a family recipe, so she looked it up on our blog:)
Glad to have you two as readers!
God Bless,
Lily and Ellie

ReplyDeleteHi Linda and Natalie,
TLC hasn't set an exact date yet, but they have assured us that the show will return in 2014. When they choose a date, we will post it.
Lily and Ellie:)
Do the Duggars have prayers for Jen Arnold?
ReplyDelete"It's an intensive apprenticeship program" - meaning there is no official medical training at all. CPMs are not medical professionals. Prior to September 2012 a high school diploma was not even required in many states. Typically the required number of births is 25-50. 25-50! That's it! That's nothing in the world of births when life-threatening complications occur at a rate of 1 in 400. OBs see that many births (25-50) in a month. Many CPMs are only seeing 3-4 a month. I would never never have a homebirth with a CPM. I might stretch for a CNM - someone that has been to nursing school, is a licensed nurse, has a masters degree and has practiced in a hospital to obtain far greater birth experience. But never a CPM.
ReplyDeleteI love that they are leaning about being midwives! Homebirth midwifery is usually practiced with only low risk pregnancies so the rate of life threatening complications is actually extremely low. And most complications are not fast 911 calls, but develop over a space of time so there is usually plenty of time to transport to the hospital if needed.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the Duggars
ReplyDeleteIt looks like it. But, Jill looks so very thin.
ReplyDeleteThey are doing a "lay" midwife course, so I don't think they are studying online.
ReplyDeleteBlessings. You are a wonderful family.
ReplyDeleteI loved watching Jill & Jana working to be a midwife. I loved seeing the pictures on your site. I have had 2 high risk babies and after trying and praying for 8 years I had a long talk with God and thought the door was closed for us. I was excited about what we were going into the next time of our life. Little did I know that the door I asked God to open and I said I would go right through would be our little Jonny. So 9 years and 5 days we welcomed our little Jonathan as he asked me to write. I to have had preeclampsia but 2 times. My little Jonny came with a high risk doctor and a midwife. It was my midwife that caught my little Jonny. And I am so thankful for the ability to have a midwife. I have told everyone I know that you can have a high risk baby with a midwife. I was my midwife that fought for me when I didn't want a medication that would strap me to the bed. It was my midwife who was there on my side and that was the first time I had that. Way to Go Jill! Way to Go Jana! God Bless you for all you are doing for motherhood and babies.
ReplyDeleteJill looks so young!
