Josh Duggar: "We Have Some Fights"

On Friday's edition of Washington Watch, Josh Duggar joined host Tony Perkins to talk about LifeUnited.org, a new website that the Duggars helped develop.

Perkins ended the interview with this question: "Do the kids ever argue?"

Josh said that while his family does tidy up before the camera crew arrives, the show still portrays their life in a very real light.

"We're a normal family, but I like to illustrate it this way: If you had the president of the United States over to your house, you're going to clean up a little bit. Well, that's kind of how it works when you have a large group of people coming over. You're going to spruce up the house. Yes we have some fights, yes we have the dirty floors, and yes we have the dinnertime chaos. My parents really are exceptional parents, and I do give them credit. It is so real."

  1. Quite upfront from Josh. I'm interested to know how he truly feels observing his siblings and parents (especially, noe that he is a parent!). Josh married early; yet not one other of his siblings has followed suit. I wonder why?

  2. Glad josh is being so honest. They are a great Christian family and are human like everyone but they like their faith shine above everything. I know this family has touched many peoples lives including mine. This family made me see my faith in a whole new life and I decided to turn my family size over to god because of them and I have been rewarded with blessings and things I would not experienced otherwise.

  3. I guess since all the post are saying anna is pregnant they decided to keep her out of the photo.if she is its great news and they should still show her and not keep her out of the pics because folks are assuming from photos I think its great they happily married they sure can afford it so why not have her in the photos and npt just him alone im sure he didnt attend that meeting without her so pregnant or not thats his wife and if he is in photos she should be also

  4. What a great way to put it. It is a question I am sure so many wonder, but it was an answer that sounds like it is was not rehearsed.

  5. I wonder what they argue about. I wonder if Jim Bob and Michelle ever really argue.

  8. One of the things we liked the best when we started to going to church with this family was that Jim Bob and Michelle's children are not always "put together." We loved seeing messy hair, dirty faces, dirty shirts. They are human like anyone else. Now, Josh and Anna's two are usually very clean and neat....but they are still a small family. When they get a ton of children, that will change like it does with anyone. They are real people, doing real things. One of the Vanderhoeff children had a massive diaper blowout the first time we went to church with them. That's about as real as it gets. What's really sad, though, is sometimes the show makes the kids look wild and misbehaving. They are not. They are VERY well behaved children. I guess in trying to keep it real, they try to focus on the times when the kids are not at their best. But, these are truly great kids.

  9. I don't think the family tries to portray a perfect family. I have seen every episode of their series and have read each book. There are many times that you will see the little ones argue, or have disagreements. Also I think as you get older you realize not everyone needs to know about every single little conflict in everyones life. I cant blame the older ones for not expressing much frustration or getting upset on camera. After all the are criticized from every angle of the spectrum! They are a wonderful family and a great example of how parents should treat their children and how children should respect their parents. I am grateful for Michelles' example of being a mother. I am a mother of an infant and I have learned a ton from the Duggar family. I really love how they start training their children from infancy through adulthood. Thank you Duggar Family!

  11. Its taken long enough for anna to fall pregnant again. I think she must have taken precautions and they don't want as many kids as jim and michelle.

  16. The changes to the header are nice, but was it really necessary to remove Grandma Duggar? She is part of the Duggar family and she even lives with them! Just my opinion.

I don't believe they are using birth control of any kind. I think, and you can see when you watch the show, when Anna discusses not getting pregnant with more children quickly the air of sadness surrounding her that it hadn't happened yet. Every lady is different and for her it may be spaced a bit more than Michelle. Now you can see her joy surrounding her.

  18. I'm sorry but Annonymous jan 30@11:42pm. I feel it is rude to ask Proverbs mama to devulge private information about someone else. Who do you, or anybody think they are to feel they have the right to find out that kind of information before the person in question reveals It to the the rest of the known world? I don't care if you're Anna's conjoined twin, unless she chooses to tell anybody then it's no one else's business. Your life won't change.whether she is or isn't't. If she is pregnant and has told her church family and family members then its not they're right to tell unless she gives permission. I'm sure that you, and the rest of the global population can wait till their next season to see what happens. My apologists if I was harsh but things like this really bug me.

  20. My dear Duggars,
I miss your shows so much. My daughter had her little girl in Nov 2009 and who cannot believe life is after the baby is born. God has been good to your family and your witness in the time of Josie's little life shows that babies can live at l lb. How can someone abort a living baby? Please bring your show back.

  21. Going to church with them does give us information not always known to the public. And, no, I won't tell anything that they are not openly sharing. Good try in asking, though lol Sometimes, you just have to be patient about things. If it's something they want the world to know, they'll let you all know when the time is right.
