Jeremiah and Hannah Duggar Welcome #3

Jeremiah and Hannah Duggar welcomed their third child on May 13th! Emery Jane Duggar, whom they will call Emy, joins two older sisters. Brynley Duggar was born on Christmas Day 2022, Brielle Duggar arrived 14 months later, and Emy is 15 months younger than Brielle. Congratulations to the Duggar and Wissmann families!

  1. They named their child the substance found on a nail file?

    1. I doubt that was a consideration, the name probably is meant to reflect the
name Jeremiah, that seems obvious to me. The child would be honored to have her name out of her Dad's name.
I looked at it that way and never thought of anything else.

    2. I thought nail file too, but I've seen it as a last name and my sister has seen it as a first name

    3. Well, that's rude. Emery has been a first name for a long time.

    4. Emery is a name and has been for quite a while.

    5. It's kinda rude to make fun of someone's name. Emery has existed as a name for a long time.

  2. She is very cute, surprised they went with an E name.

  3. I am sure they love them all but sooner or later having babies that close together is going to take a toll on the mom.

    1. 5:27 No kidding. This is not a race to see who can wear themselves out first, physically or mentally. You can have the kids you want but you can also give yourself a longer break between them. It's not a sin to plan. In fact, it makes you a better, healthier mother to proceed at a manageable pace, and the kids don't get the short end of your stick either.

    2. I'm not sure they use any sort of family planning or birth control.....so these pregnancies my continue to be close.

    3. Oh my goodness..let them choose to have their babies when they want. I can’t believe these people who are trying to advise other people to wait and help them plan their lives! Life is not that simple …no one likes to talk about it but we are never guaranteed another pregnancy..many of us are blessed with only one pregnancy..and no more. If God will bless them with more, terrific!

    4. @10:56 Many people have much more life experience than these two kids and know what they're talking about or have seen it happen before. If someone doesn't want to take sound advice, OK then. Just don't complain later if you've gotten in over your head and you don't understand how it happened. Look at Anna and all those kids and a husband locked up. Who didn't see that coming and could have told her, had she listened.

    5. Some women aren’t even able to get pregnant and have any children so as long as the Lord blesses the womb then go with the flow.

    6. You know, a lot of things can take a toll on you. Working for years at a job takes a toll on you.

    7. @1:05 I'm supposed to have more children because some women can't have any?
@5:07 But you're allowed to choose your job, you get paid for that "toll," and at the end, you get to retire and live off your 401K. Motherhood has no such perks.

  4. Unless you're working with a Jr. or a III, it's very strange to name a baby but then immediately apply a nickname. If you didn't want to use the full name to begin with, then you shouldn't have chosen it.

    1. When that little girl is all grown up she can use the full version of her name.

    2. Using a nickname from birth is incredibly common, what are you even talking about lol

    3. 100% agree. Emery isn’t awful though. I hate it when people name their kids an awful name but call the kid something cute. They should have just gone with the cute name.

  5. I thought that she will have a B name as her 2 older sisters.

  6. So glad that Emy made it safely into the world! I was wondering if they were going to continue naming all of their kids with the letter “B”. It will definitely be easier to choose names now for the rest since they are not staying with the same letter.

  7. Congratulations, Hannah & Jeremiah!!!!!! Welcome to the world Emery.

  8. I thought she will have a name starting with the letter B like her siblings.

  9. I’m so happy for their family to welcome another precious little girl!

  12. Now I hope they have a couple of years to enjoy their little ones and her body can recover

    1. How many years exactly does she need to recover? All eyes are going to be on your wise, insightful and all knowing answer.🤔

    2. 12:45 Three.

    3. If you're that curious 12:45, you can easily look up the medical answer. Spoiler Alert: It's not the interval of time most Duggar women and wives wait before becoming pregnant again. So 9:49's remark has merit.

    4. OBGYNs say that a woman's body needs at least 2 years to recover from births. There is your answer.

    5. Actually it’s healthier for mom and baby if pregnancies are spaced at least a year apart, you body is depleted of lots of vitamins during pregnancy and it takes a year for your body to replenish them, otherwise you’re at higher risk of tooth decay, high fatigue, and organ strain. I don’t think the original commenter is being rude.

    6. @12:54 The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) recommends waiting at least 18 months between pregnancies....not my wise answer but the one recommended by specialists.

    7. Long enough to prevent complicated pregnancies

    1. Ditto on the Bates photo.

    2. Please add the names of all the miscarried babies in the blog header. I doubt you would want to use actual photos, so how about angel wings instead?

      Delete
    3. The Bates blog hasn't updated their family pictures either.

    4. 2:58 What the heck-use the photos. Miscarriages are rather common.

      Delete
    5. @2:58 not all the Duggars have named their lost pregnancies. It's a personal choice I think naming a stillbirth after 20 weeks is fine but naming a loss at 6 weeks is kinda strange.

      Delete
    6. 2:58, their names are in the birthday section, why would they put it in the header😭

  14. Sweet little family

  15. They may just have liked the "B"-names, just as they loved the "e"-name. Maybe they first thought of going on with b, but then heard Emery and so changed their minds.
