Baby Girl Forsyth is Here!

Joy (Duggar) Forsyth and Austin Forsyth

Joy-Anna and Austin Forsyth welcomed their baby girl two days past due. She arrived safely on August 21st, 2020, weighing 8 lbs 5oz and measuring 19.5 inches long. The new addition was born at the hospital according to plan, and we think she looks just like older brother Gideon. If you think this birth announcement seems a little incomplete, you are correct. You are likely wondering what name the parents chose. Well, that information has not yet been shared. We will let you know as soon as we find out. Photos are available on the TLC website.

    1. Congratulations on your baby girl! I know the two of you are thrilled and looking forward to Gideon's reaction. He's going to be a great big brother. I hope the rumors aren't true and you're not leaving Counting On. I always look forward to seeing the 3, and now 4 of you.

    2. Congratulations!I look forward to seeing pictures of her as she grows. My opinion on why you are yet to decide on a name is because you care so much about her and you want the perfect name just for her. I'm a huge fan of your family.I would be honored if you would read my comment.

  3. Why so long to announce the name? Does she think she’s Kate Middleton or Meghan Markle?

    1. They had said they were going to wait for her to be born to choose a name so maybe they’re still deciding? It took Jessa and Ben like five and three days to name Spurgeon and Henry.

    2. Why throw "stones" on such a blessed occasion for them. So disappointing.

      Delete
    3. It's probably because they haven't decided on a name yet.

      Delete
    4. It’s every parent’s choice to decide when to share the name of their baby. Royalty has nothing to do with it.

      Delete
    5. They were nervous

      Delete
    6. I think that too, and it's already been 3 days. Maybe it took Jessa a few days, but they announced it the same day as they announced the birth. If they don't have a name yet, which I doubt, I would have preferred they'd waited to announce the birth, so they would announce it all at once.

      Delete
    7. What are you talking about? You don't have to be royalty to not have a name picked out when the child is born. Look at Jessa.

      Delete
    8. Maybe they haven't decided yet?
Or since they are stepping back from the public life of the Duggars, they are taking their time in announcing it to get Gideon to learn it first?

    9. Gotta maximize those opportunities to sell info.

    10. Maybe a magazine paid to break that story - ?

      Delete
    11. They probably want to announce it to the whole family first. Last time the family came to to see the baby, and then they announced it to them when it was the whole family around. I'm sure they have a name or two picked already.

    12. That's the Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Sussex to you, and they do not owe it to you to name their baby when you demand them to. Check your attitude.

    13. Publicity stunt. They aren’t filming for counting on anymore so they are taking the highest bidders from magazines.

    14. I was wondering the same thing ..back when the show first started with 14 children and pregnant again...Michelle was having kids and announced it after birth...fame has really gone to their head .

    15. Anonymous@3:57 What you said is so mean. Why do people have to be so mean?

    16. Me and my boyfriend used almost two days after birth to agree on names on our triplets 2 years old logan, lucas and elise was easier on our oldest landon who is 10

      Delete
    17. Just could not let this pass!! You and your "boyfriend"!! Also have a 10 year old with "boyfriend"??

      Delete
    18. @7:24, that live a public life if they don’t want to be questioned on their child’s name don’t make a public birth announcement.

      Delete
    19. my guess: it is all about money

    20. To all of you criticizing the idea that they may have sold an exclusive reveal or pics....why does this bother you? Many people post pics of this family without their permission or create fan based social media pages using their pictures....that's wrong! Totally ok by me if they negotiate controlled use of their photos and are paid.

      Delete
    21. @9:29 Because children are not commodities to be sold.

      Delete
    22. 3:57, wow, rude much?

      Delete
    23. Such strange reaction! My sister did not have a name for a month! Our parents could not agree. We are ordinary people with regular names, nothing fancy, and still. Sometimes a baby just does not "look" the name which has been chosen and you have no other options in your head as you were sure that would be the name.

      Delete
    24. What a rude comment, implying that Kate and Megan are special in some way that Joy-Anna is not. Also, sometimes it takes people (like me) awhile to pick a name.

      Delete
    25. 9:29 I think that the Duggars live by a double standard. On one hand, they adovcate modesty, Godliness and humbleness in all things, as well as have vilified secular society. On the other hand, they've compromised the privacy of their children for years by doing business with and achieving fame through a very "worldly" media and provocative tabloid magazines.

      Delete
    26. 3:57 - Surprise surprise, it’s the 21st century and not everyone gets married. I know a couple who has 4 kids and isn’t married. They have one of the most stable relationships I’ve seen. Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russel have been boyfriend and girlfriend since 1983.
Why do you care so much and why the quotation marks?

    27. Me the triplet mom, i have with my boyfriend four kids, our two years old triplets logan, lucas and elise and our ten year old, Landon, and i dont know what you dont understand, all i said was that landon was easiee to name then our triplets, who was almost two days old when we named them.

      Delete
    28. @8:28 Triplet Mom - It sounds as if that person wants to make a big deal out of the fact that you said boyfriend not husband, as if having children with a boyfriend is somehow wrong in that person's judgement. If that is the case, rest assured that you have the support of others here, including me. I'll bet your two year old triplets are adorable!

      Delete
    29. 8:28 I also had a kid my my husband before marriage. I made a comment a few years ago about how I remember the 1st time he felt him moved and got backlashed on here about it. I still get comments when people hear that we have only been married for 2 year and have a 4 year old and a 1 year old. Just because we have babies out of marriage doesn't make us bad people things just happen. I'm proud of him and not ashamed of when we had him. He got to be in our wedding and he still talks about it. Last year we were at my Mil house and I had my head on my husband's shoulder, we were both on the floor, our oldest looked at me and said "that's my daddy." I told him "Well he is my husband." He said again "That's my daddy." Again I said "He's my husband." The our oldest said "He was my daddy 1st!!" My MIL, husband and I all started laughing cause he got me there. Anyone we tell that story too starts laughing too.

    30. The Duggars are people, they have good times and bad times, they have values and standards that they try to live up to. Surprise! They aren't perfect. The thing I appreciate about them is that when they get knocked down or fall off the values wagon they own it, apologize, get back up and try to do better, even when they fall down again. Give them the break and grace you would give yourself if you had some problems in your life. "Who ever is without sin cast the first stone."

    31. 5:57 me the triplet mom again. The triplets are adorable and adore they big brother who cant say no to them, me and my boyfriend are not interested in marriage but have meet people who comment on us not being married with four kids, mostly older people have comment on it

  8. Aww, so I guess she did get an induction on her due date after all. That was probably a wise decision seeing that she had a very large baby. I’m wondering what they decided to name her? I’m going to guess Lydia Marie.

    1. 8 lbs 5oz is NOT a very large baby. Many women give birth to babies that are over 9 lbs with NO induction.

Doctors would NOT induce labor just because the baby is over 8 lbs! They has to be a medical reason.
Joy could very well gone into labor narurally.

      Delete
    2. 4:18, I’m aware, but considering the Duggar girls have had a hard time delivering large babies, that is what I’m referring to. 8lbs 5oz is still considered big since she delivered on her due date, if she had not been induced and hadn’t gone into labor for another week or two, she probably would have had another ten pound baby.

  22. How wonderful for them! Lots of people wait to see the baby first before officially deciding on a name. The parents can wait as long as they want to decide. I can't wait to hear what they decide on. I do wonder how many girl granddaughters will be in a row before someone has a boy!

    1. We know Jinger's second child will be a girl. So the earliest we could see a boy is with Joe and Kendra's third child in Feb.

    1. Lily and Ellie - I keep hearing that Joy and Austin quit the show but I haven't seen an official announcement. I try not to believe the tabloids until I hear it from a trusted source. Has this been announced by TLC or someone in the family? Is it really true they are leaving the show?

    2. I thought they were just cutting back on their appearances for scheduling sake.

    3. @5:53: I also heard, that Joy and Austin, would be cutting back on filming, but would be included, in big family events. @5:31: According to TLC's website, Evelyn's birth announcement, and gender reveal, will be included in the season 11, Sept.8th episode of Counting On.

    3. I like it....they could call her Auggie😁

  33. Why are people assuming she was induced? Strange.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Because she said she would be getting induced on her due date and the baby was born the day after, so it’s very likely that that is what happened, especially considering that Gideon was late.

      Delete
    2. Because she mentioned in her YouTube channel that maybe she would be induced if she got to her due date. She was 2 days late so it’s a reasonable wonder

  34. I think a good name would be Annalise Joy. Combines the names they had picked for their other girl.

  35. I was thinking a good name for a rainbow baby girl might be Gabrielle Joy. The kids could be nicknamed Giddy and Gabby. Gabrielle refers to an angel and Joy is after her mom and refers to the joyous feeling the family must be experiencing.
