Jinger's New Life in Texas

In this week's issue of PEOPLE Magazine, Jinger Duggar Vuolo opens up about her new life in Laredo, Texas. She and Jeremy Vuolo have been married three months.

“We have just so perfectly adapted, it’s been incredible,” Jinger told PEOPLE. “The biggest blessing.”

The 23-year-old says she stays in touch with her Arkansas family via FaceTime and group messages, but she is also making new friends in Laredo.  “I’ve definitely connected with the ladies here, and they have been so gracious,” she shared.

Following in the footsteps of her parents and married siblings, Jinger says she and Jeremy are seeking God for wisdom regarding the size of their future family. “We are just enjoying our life together,” Jinger commented, “and we will see what the Lord does.”

  1. That's awesome, they are a beautiful couple. It's so nice to see them going hard after God.

  2. "Perfectly adapted" and "incredible" huh? Someone remind her of that when she makes the announcement (and she will) that they're moving out of there. I'm betting it will be closer to Arkansas or PA when it happens. Just as Jill had a hard time so far away from family, Jinger probably will, too. Although it is possible for the family to drive down to Laredo and stay with her. They squeezed that queen sized bed into the spare room!

    1. I think Jinger will be fine away from her family ...I went through this,
the oldest sibling of six children....I met my love, and we built a strong relationship, and a blessed life.....Jill's situation was totally different.she had a lot more to deal with than being away from her family...

    2. It all sounds too easy. Living with someone else is a definite adjustment, not to mention moving out of state. Please be realistic and honest.

    3. Im sure Jeremy is helping Jinger adjust while they are still adjusting as a married couple. With his responsiblities the women of the church and Jinger are spending a lot of time together which is to be expected in her roll supporting his vocation.
Laredo is a temporary placement that could last another month or years and when notice is provided they will be in search for another Church to work with.
I'm glad Jinger is further away from her family to be given the opportunity to find her own place in life and build her marriage privately.
Out of all the girls she has been blessed with the most opportunity and I am very happy for them.

    4. It's hard to believe that any girl who grew up so sheltered, especially when it came to men or living somewhere different, would make that transition so easily. That sounded like the expected response, said with a smile pasted on her face. "Everything's great!" I'm hoping she's being honest, because dishonesty, even if you don't say it but carry it in your heart, is a sin.

  3. Pick up this week's copy of People? And after you kill time in line glancing at that story, put the magazine right back into the rack, because overall, it's not the kind of magazine you'll want to buy. Why the Duggars want themselves associated with it is beyond anyone's guess.

    1. Why follow them on here if you're going to bash them?

      Delete
    2. Really? You don't understand why the Duggar's associate with People magazine? The family gives the magazine exclusive rights to events; the latest being the story and first pictures of the newest Seewald baby. Exclusive rights translate into money.

      Delete
    3. Andrea- I think the initial Anonymous poster was not "bashing" anyone. He/She has raiseda legitimate point for discussion, given that the Duggars have been very vocal about not allowing magazines with content like People's into their home. Why would they condemn that type of magazine for having unwholesome (their word, not mine) content (unfit for their children to consume) and yet, they're selling their story exclusives and profiting from the sale of that magazine (in other homes with children)? They're accepting monies from the sale of a magazine they themselves would not allow in their home? Do you see the problem of ethics with that?

      Delete
    4. No, it's not bashing them. It's just questioning their logic.

      Delete
    5. 6:24 The logic you mention concerning the Duggars and PEOPLE MAGAZINE also applys to TV. Don't let your kids watch TV, its bad, but we want to be on tv. Not bashing either, just questioning the logic.

    6. One thing that hasn't been discussed regarding the Duggar family and the People magazine is the positive blessing that the magazine and their story in it is to the whole country. Christianity is a minority religion these days, and traditional Christian values have fallen to the wayside. Many young people, men and women, wouldn't have the faintest idea that a family, size wise and value system, even exists. The Lord has provided the Duggars with a platform and I believe that it still remains an important one.The America of today is based on a very selfish, "me first" culture and filthy behaviour is "the norm". "Christian" churches are more than not entertainment venues, with a Bible and a pulpit not even on show. This family loves the Lord dearly and has sin in it because ALL of us fall short of God's desire for our lives. I am very glad that the Duggars are a candle out there, shining on a sinful world. Just as Jesus commanded us to "not hide our lit candles under a bushell, the Duggars, even when the media crucified them for what Josh did as a teenager and Jim-Bob as his father, and the family patriarch, did in those situations, they have continued to provide a supporting and cohesive family unit.If the Lord eventually decides that their public persona is no longer needed, then I'm sure that they will graciously step back and leave society to its godlessness, selfishness and child hating ways.I myself never read the magazine, but I would buy it if the Duggars were in an Australian edition!Even if just 1 person gives their life to Jesus through the Duggars testimony, it will have been worth it!

    7. True. BUT they don't speak of God the way they did just a few years ago. Sad. How will people hear of God if they no longer speak of Him?

  4. I don't like People magazine. Also why can't you get Amy off the birthday and anniversary lists??? If one cousin is on there, what about all the other cousins?

  5. "Jinger says she and Jeremy are seeking God for wisdom regarding the size of their future family." Are they trying to say that God doesn't approve of birth control? I do not understand this reasoning that He is dictating how many children anyone is going to have. There are so many people who have children and are abusive. Some couples who would make wonderful parents can never conceive. Does God make these illogical decisions,
too? I simply do not buy the notion that the Duggars or anyone else are receiving special or magical 'wisdom' from God about how many children they have or anything else in their lives. Truth be told, we are all flying by the seat of our pants and anyone with any sense uses the brain God gave them to make wise decisions. For some, that means using birth control and not bringing ANY children into the world.

    1. My husband and I are the "anyone else" people who chose to allow God to plan our family size. We were blessed with three wonderful daughters. Not everyone who allows Him to plan their family size will have a large family. We don't have some "special" or "magical wisdom" from God. God doesn't make illogical decisions and He is much wiser than the people He created. His plans are always better.

      Delete
    2. Regina- If you claim that God planned your family size, you are also implying that you do have some special or magical message from God. If you believe that, fine. But I have a problem when people of certain religious ideologies minister to others that this is correct for everyone. Some folks simply should not have children, period. For someone to suggest that letting it be up to God (no birth control) is the way to go is irresponsible.

      Delete
    3. No, they are not saying that at all. They are saying that for their own family, they are leaving it up to God. It's not my bag, but it's their right.

    4. Why do people think "birth control" is better?!?!?! Are you nuts??? The divorce rate sky-rocketed once birth control came on the scene; bc allows men to use women; has increased father-less children--and you think birth control is better? Open your eyes. Don't be such "sheeple". BC is a drug that's takes a perfectly normal process (menstruation or pregnancy) and tricks your body into not working properly. It's one of the only "medicines" designed to make your body NOT function normally. Is that healthy?!?!? No way!!! If couples discern they need to space babies, they can do so without using illicit means. Most BC (including the pill) is documented by the FDA to cause early miscarriages. If you need to space babies, look into the Creighton Method of Natural Family Planning...and couples who use NFP...have a divorce rate of 1%-5%....waaaay better than the rest of the culture....I wonder why???

    5. Where I come from a statement like that means they are not trying to become pregnant nor are they avoiding it.
If it happens they will accept it and move forward growing their family and changing their lives.
With that comes the financial stability to raise the family and all the other factors that fall into place. If I said I never looked up and asked for help to make it happen that would be dishonest. We all need some form of guidance in life which could be family, friends or religion.
I am just glad they are taking this time to focus on their marriage and growing closer so when it happens they will adjust and prepare as a couple.

    6. I totally agree!

    7. Human beings have the ability to engage in intimacy at their discretion or use birth control if they choose. But ultimately there is a life force which allows for fertilization and the ultimate birth of a child. Whether that happens or not is not always under our control. Case in point is the case of infertility. With the Duggars being so obsessed with child bearing, I can't imagine if one of the children has fertility issues. It is something we can't always control. But I think some of that is implied in Jinger's answer, as well as not trying to impede the natural process with birth control. Hope what I am trying to say makes sense.

    8. My husband and I also allow God to control our family size. We have four children and another one on the way. I believe God has a special plan for everyone's life, and we can follow His plan or have our own way and live how we want. But God's plan is far better than our own. We might miss some blessings He'd have for us if we decide to do things our way.
I don't believe that God's will is for everyone to have a big family, but for some it is. And children truly are gifts from God.

    9. 8:17 pm, You think birth control causes miscarriages? Boy are you ever misinformed! Please don't spread such myths! That was an old way of thinking in the 70's which has REPEATEDLY been SHOT DOWN! Please get informed! As for Jinger and Jeremy? I'm sure they will do what they deem appropriate as far as when to become parents. So happy they found each other and I wish them the very best in their new life, with or without children! Also thrilled to see Jinger having a life AWAY from Arkansas! May she shop in the "big city" whenever she wants, as finances permit of course lol!!

    11. Actually...the pill is not healthy for a woman's body in several respects. A 3-4x risk of blood clots after years of use, for one. And the patch increases that risk, from what I understand. Another is an increased risk of breast cancer. Women need to do their homework do a cost/benefit analysis before using hormonal birth control.

      Delete
    12. Actually...women are placed on the pill to get them out of uncomfortable or painful health situations, too. It's not just for birth control.

  6. Jinger and Jeremy are a couple that exudes graciousness and wisdom.

Their love reflects God and a joyfulness of being in-step with what God wants for their lives.

This couple is very poised and very careful to not make life about them. Instead they reflect a desire to "glorify" God!

I appreciate the fact that Jeremy is very careful and steady about how much they share of their personal life. This is so refreshing and wise for him to protect his wife and family in this manner.

It is very apparent that Jinger and Jeremy have approached this time in their lives to honor the God they serve.

I have a brother-in-law whom is a Pastor. Jeremy, as a pastor, is wise to guard his home and family as his walk and talk in this world could affect his Church, the People, as well.

The growth and maturity is definitely apparent with this couple.

Jinger and Jeremy certainly appear to be a "Match Made in Heaven".

God Bless them both for their example they have set before their Families and the world!

    2. They also cannot make a baby without God. Do you know that God knows exactly what egg and sperm will form that unborn baby? He knows who that baby will become before they are even formed in the womb! I think that is why Jinger and Jeremy say they are allowing God to plan their family-- He always knows what is best!

      Delete
    3. Did you know that God is involved in the conception of every baby?? He knows exactly what egg and sperm will unite to form that child-- He sees that baby in the womb from the moment of conception, and He knows exactly what that child will be like and what he/she will grow up to be.

  10. I thought Jinger liked big cities and wanted to be a photographer in New York. Jeremy took her there for the engagement, but that's all she got of the city? She now gets Laredo? These girls' dreams get put on the back burner yet again?

    2. Well,Laredo is big city compared to where she grew up.It's probably exciting to get to know a new town.

    3. That was Jinger's choice! She knew well before they were married that she would be living in Laredo, and that's what she wanted. Nobody's dreams are being put anywhere. Her dream ever since she met Jeremy was to marry him, knowing where she would be living and what she would be doing.

      Delete
    6. Totally agree, 3:41! Remember how her eyes lit up the first time she was old enough to really appreciate NYC? That was when she said she'd love to live there and one of the sisters piped up no, she needed to live close to a Wal-Mart. You could see her heart sink that very minute. So she got Wal-Mart instead of Broadway after all. :(

  12. I think it is important for people to listen to God when it comes to some decisions. You can also use whatever your higher power is as well. Sometimes thinking and making decisions on our own without some spiritual or wise guidance can be make for bad decisions. I have made bad decisions on my own so now I sit still and listen for the wise counsel to guide me. So short story is don't judge others for their life choices it isn't your life to live.

  16. Off topic here- Is there any way Anna can address the "Divorcing Josh" rumors circulating on the internet and on some so-called magazine sites? They're like sharks circling blood in the water and it might be good if Anna could issue a statement of some sort. It needs to be Anna, not the Duggars though. Becasue of the strength of character she's shown in the face of such betrayal, she's highly respected (even by "haters").

    1. Their "spokesman" already spoke out. They have a paid PR firm to handle this stuff.

    2. Why should she have to respond to the rumors? That's silly. If she isn't getting divorced all she has to do to squash the rumors is stay married.

      Delete
    3. It might be wise for Anna to address it, just as she publicly acknowledged the offenses via blogpost and has previously addressed the fan base twice since then-once via Counting On and once by a blogpost. Reality TV stars often use a paid spokesperson who declares one thing to protect image/ratings/income stream and then the "rumors" are found to be true. The rumors are not going away unless Anna addresses them herself. She has the credibility to do so, the authority to do so, the support to do so, and the platform to do so. It doesn't take 15 minutes (or even 10) to sit down in a TLC Counting On segment and say "I'm not divorcing Josh and have no ontention to divorce Josh. I'm choosing to honor my vows before God and we're continuing ______[counseling/repairing and strengthening our marriage/working on rebuilding trust in our marriage/etc.]." Frankly, doing so would not only defy the rumors, but also be an excellent witness as well as encourage women in similar situations. I think even the Duggars underestimate how well loved, well-respected, and well-received Anna is. Her integrity is difficult to miss. Even the "haters" admire Anna.

And, even if things were not going so perfectly, watchers would never know because the Duggars always make everything seem more perfect than they probably are in actuality. I really hope this young couple decides to keep a more private life and not just do things the "duggar way" when it comes to family size, ETC.

I saw on the video when he looked so sad and said the walls were disappearing,,,you noticed and encouraged him to go get his painting for the room. 24. Since Jeremy has preached in his church that drinking alcohol is not a sin, (in moderation), how is Jinger going to handle the bottle of wine in her refrigerator or Jeremy's beer when out with their friends? These are the things that we are curious about. Please respond, Vuolos.

    1. Maybe she will follow suit and change some of her beliefs per ma and pa's and adhere to her and Jeremy's own ideals, now that she has the right to decide what is best for her own new family unit...as well it should be.

    2. I have a feeling they've had these conversations during their courtship and resolved any issues. Just because Jinger was raised not to drink doesn't mean she can't change her mind.

    3. Even Jesus drank wine. Why do a few Christian religions insist on zero alcohol?

      Delete
    4. Drinking alcohol in moderation is not a sin; it is also not a requirement. Choosing not to drink is a wise decision. Before asking how Jinger will handle Jeremy drinking alcohol and having it in their home, maybe you should find out whether or not he does. I expect this is one of the many things they discussed during their courtship.

  25. Why isn't Anna along with the Duggar clan NOT supporting her younger sister in her marriage???

  26. We'd like to know if Jeremy enjoys a beer or a glass of wine from time to time. Since his sermon preached that there's nothing wrong with this, in moderation, but they don't elaborate. Does he enjoy such a beverage? Once again, NOT a sin. Does he meet his friends at a sports bar restaurant type of place or not?

    ReplyDelete
  27. hey folks, yes Jesus drank wine, but that wine did not have alcohol in it. It was basically grape juice. And if Jeremy and Jinger decide to partake that is their decision and between them and their God not anyone else's. My dad was a pastor and when I married I married a Catholic who believed in drinking in moderation. I was raised in a no alcohol home and my husband and I were married for 49 years before he died. I still don't drink alcohol and it didn't affect our marriage. So, please, keep supporting them and praying for them. GOD WILL DO THE REST!!!
