    1. Please do not! And it is Montréal not montreal. Need I remind you, it is a French province.

    2. That's funny. I always thought Montreal was in Canada.

    4. Not everyone know what symbols to use to make it "authentic" enough for some people but MOST people still know what is meant with or without the little ' over the e. Montreal is the only province in Canada that refuses to have bi-lingual road signs.....definitely arrogance at it's finest.

    1. You are a sad person, with no KNOWLEDGE of what goes on with their family.

      Delete
    2. Your opinion of course........so here's mine I think these girls are perfectly happy, healthy and so much more fortunate than other poor girls out there that parents can't wait to get out of the home.

      Delete
    3. They actually all seem very happy and well-adjusted... Well-traveled and confident. If their parents were the tyrants that you seem to think that they are, they would be scared little rabbits afraid of the real world. Just because they do or don't marry, etc. Doesn't mean they are going about it to get away from their parents. Jill, Jessa and Jinger all seem to be very much in love from what I see. Projecting negativity onto them is your deal, not theirs.

  5. I really enjoy watching the show

  6. aren't the boys ever going to court??? Why is this show only about the girls??

    1. Exactly what i've been wondering for a long time now!

      Delete
    2. I think the guys are more quiet about it. I don't think they like being in front of the cameras.

      Delete
    3. Sometimes I feel the girls are more prepared to be wives, the boys don't seem to be ready to be husbands and take care of a family. That being said, we don't really see much of the boys so I might be wrong, but Jim Bob seems more focused on getting his daughters married than finding mates for his sons.

      Delete
    4. Don't know why this concerns the general public so much?

      Delete
    5. Because the boys are not "counting on".

      Delete
    6. When one of the boys courts they will show that as well.. We saw Josh's courtship. They can't show it till it actually happens and there are alot more girls in the marrying age then boys right now.

      Delete
    7. I think in their culture, the more immediate issue is getting the girls of marriage age married off. The boys can marry later.

      Delete
    8. I don't think what Josh did raised the stock of any of his brothers.

      Delete
    9. Would you let your daughter marry into a family like this, knowing what has taken place? And that most likely every personal moment from here on out will be aired on TV? The Caldwells seem to be brave enough, but I don't know about others.

      Delete
    10. There's not more girls than boys in marrying stock at the moment - John-David, Joseph & Josiah & of course Jana - are
      all older than Joy.

      Delete
    11. Their parents and siblings are respecting and accepting the older boy's and Jana's decisions not to enter into courtship.

      Delete
  7. Joy is too young. This whole thing is too fast. Why the rush?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Well, they need something to film.

      Delete
    2. Poor Jana now that most of the older sisters are gone and courting it's up to her to take care of the younger boys the next one in line after Joyanna is Johanna I would think the boys would be courting first but o well

      Delete
    3. I was wondering the same thing. They are so young. No need to rush into things. I guess they have known each other for a long time. But still whats the rush. I hope they dont rush to have babies like jill and jessa.

      Delete
    4. I don't think they believe in any kind of birth control so a baby may come soon after marriage.

      Delete
    5. I totally agree with you. I mean, Anna was at least 20 when Josh proposed to her, and Joy's sisters also got engaged in their 20's; but 19 still seems to young.

      Delete
    6. I feel the same way. I hate to see people this young make a life long commitment like this. They haven't even started living yet and will be so different by the time they turn 25. they will be parents before they know it and tied down by so many adult responsibilities.

      Delete
    7. I think Jana is outsmarting them all. Jill stuck with no hot water living in horrible conditions and pregnant. Jessa is saddled with two babies, Joy is being sent off to work hard labor at the campground and Jana is living comfortably financially with her dad and helping out the house. There aren't as many Duggars or little kids around so there isn't as much work as six years ago. Why would Jana leave to marry and broke minister and have a bunch of kids alone and not have ANY money? She's got the right idea

      Delete
    8. Jessa saddled with two babies? Wow, what an attitude you have about marriage and children!

      Delete
    9. Our parents got married young and the divorce rate was lower, need not be concerned. Just enjoy the show and if it concerns you that much don't watch it.

      Delete
    10. Wow, that's sort of harsh, lol. I was 19, living in a secular home with my divorced mom when I got engaged. We've been married 34 years, have 6 amazing kids, and just got our first grandchild. Our two youngest still at home will be off to college in 2 and 4 years, respectively. It's been a wonderful life and there is a lot more left. I'm sorry if yours wasn't as nice, but it has little to do with their age

      Delete
    11. Yes I have raised three and was a stay at home mom living paycheck to paycheck. I know what it's like to be saddled with little kids all day. I didn't have to tv show money either. Being a mother is the hardest thing in the world. Jana is the smart one.

      Delete
    12. I got married at 18 and had my first baby at 20years old. I was married to him for almost 36 years and would still be today except he died of cancer. some of us make lifelong committments.

      Delete
    13. Lisa C- Glad that things worked out for you. However, it is a known fact that young age when first married, lack of education, and economic hardships are all significant contributing factors to divorce.

      Delete
    14. Edwina, I'm so terribly sorry for your loss and yet happy that you were able to have the time together that you did.
So many people just don't seem to realize that the way they live their own lives isn't necessarily the way that everyone should live. If everyone had the same ambitions, goals, and desires on how we lived our lives, the world would be a rather boring place to be.

      Delete
  8. Awesome can't wait love this show! 😊

    ReplyDelete
  9. Austin seems hard working and a decent young man though as a mother I have reservations. I hope Joy best interest is always foremost and since her brother's know him she is watched over.
It's a shame they are in such a rush.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Don't get a good vibe from Austin at all. Seems possessive and domineering. Would not recommend him for Joy, she deserves someone who cherishes her and can think of more good things to say about her other than, "She's good delegating."

      Delete
    2. I thought it was just me, I don't ny get a good vibe off him at all

      Delete
    3. Agree! He hardly smiles and his eyes are menacingly cold. I get an ominous feeling when I watching him - like he's just looking for someone to work with him. I hope they keep an eye on the relationship and make sure he acts right. Especially the older brothers. It would be sad if there was another Josh-like situation. Praying for them!

      Delete
    4. I hope Joy Anna will be happy. She didn't seem herself in the episode. Notice how much she was keeping her head down!? And she's been on cameras all her life, so it couldn't have been nerves about that. iDK, like she's already being subdued, bit by bit.

    1. Of all the couples so far they are the most reasonable to move quickly. They've known each other's families for 15 years and each other as friends for 5. I don't think it's strange at all for them to move quickly.

      Delete
    2. At their ages and, although they knew each other for 5 years, I doubt that they actually spent any quality time together during those 5 years.

    1. You do realize that this is a television show and that they edit it to suit their timeline, right? You have NO idea when Austin asked Joy to court... or how long between the beginning of the courtship and the discussion to ask for her hand in marriage was...

      Delete
    2. You know, in all fairness, they could have had many courting activities outside of filming by the Duggars/Counting On/TLC. They may have spent considerable chaperoned time together for quite a few months (the last year), for all we know. They may have been participating in group activities for the last few years, crushing on each other, just hanging out in group settings. Let's just hope Joy-Anna knows her own heart and uses good judgement. Marry in haste, repent in leisure. Some "young" marriages do survive (a smaller number actually thrive); most don't make it. Some make it and crow a lot about it, when in all truth, there was a lot of propping up by family going on. Time will tell.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Just curious, do any of the Duggars go to college? Just seems like the girls just marry and they marry men that have not gone to college either. Just curious if this is something religion based?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Actually, Derek (sp), Ben, and Jeremy all have college degrees. Jeremy has also finished his courses to be a minister and Ben is in school to become a minister. 🙂

      Delete
    2. Ben only has a 2 yr. degree and is studying online. I thought it was disclosed that where he was studying (Moody?) requires you to actually take classes on campus at some point before the degree is conferred. So it's questionable if he'll ever finish that, if he'd have to move there to study.

      Delete
    3. Jeremy may have a college degree, but he doesn't know the difference between a cheese grater and a vegetable peeler (next season)...

      Delete
    4. No, it is not religion based. When you are home educated, you have a different thirst for learning and drive of your own. College classes are kind of a joke after being in this environment. My oldest is taking his first college semester this year and finds it quite laughable that society puts value to this. Most of the students have no drive and, even at this level, want the teacher to spoon feed them. He said he shocked a teacher when he quoted a page number from homework and asked a question about it. I'm pretty sure the Duggar kids have already outperformed most of what is seen in college today. College is just a label. It is no true measure of ability.

      Delete
    5. Ben has an associate's degree. Usually when someone claims a "college degree," they're referencing a bachelor's which is quite different.

      Delete
    6. Ben does not have a college degree. He took a diploma at a community college. Plus, getting an on-line degree cannot compare to a brick & Mortar degree like the one Derek obtained. Derek has a good solid 4-year bachelor degree. I think Jeremy has one too. But NONE of the Duggars have anything equivalent.

      Delete
    7. Jill is a midwife.

      Delete
    8. One of the boys, I think Joe, goes to the bricks-and-mortar college that some of the Bates kids attend.

      Delete
    9. THANK YOU @anonymous 9:20 well said! :-)

      Delete
    10. College is just a label? What does that even mean? So my nursing degree is just a label? I guess I didn't need the degree to work as a nurse. I'm astounded at how many of you think education is a waste. If no one was educated, we wouldn't have doctors, scientists, lawyers, teachers. Education isn't a sin. God gave us brains for a reason.

      Delete
    11. To anonymous at 9:20: I think your child is going to wrong school/ hanging out with the wrong students if this is what they get out of their college. I went to UNC Chapel Hill, a very distinguished and challenging school, and the students there work very hard for their education. Although homeschool can be a good alternative to other forms of school, the Duggars used a curriculum that really did not include many aspects of a normal public school degree. Did they study the French Revolution, or ecology, or Chinese? Not that these things are totally needed in society, but children deserve the right to learn them. These kids don't even know what a Joey is, a very simple animal term. I think homeschool is a good opportunity if children are given a good curriculum and still the chances that other kids have. But the truth is you can't deny the value a college degree gives you and the job opportunities that come with it. You can't be a teacher, a doctor, or a computer programmer without it. College does not have to be done to live a fulfilling life, but it is a good start that every student should have the right to attend if they chose. Don't undervalue college; there are so many students working hard for years on that degree. College is not a joke, or laughable. It is an accomplishment that is earned through only one way, hard work and dedication. College students have a "thirst" for learning. If they didn't, they wouldn't be there.

      Delete
    12. Anon@9:20 Wow. Your open disdain for a college education is based on your son's first semester? I would hardly call that grounds for an accurate assessment of the merits of a degree.
I have a Master's degree and I worked very hard to earn it. It lead me to a lifelong career and I've been able to retire comfortably. I suggest you find a better college for your son if he's feels so unchallenged. Perhaps Harvard would take him.

  29. When is Jana going to court and get married?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Penny- Courting and getting married is not a requirement for anyone. Some people are perfectly content to remain single. To each his own.

      Delete
    2. This cracks me up. First people complain because they are to young to get married and then they complain because they aren't married yet. This family can't win, can they!

      Delete
    3. Whenever she's ready.

      Delete
    4. She will start a courtship when she knows someone who has the characteristics that she desires in a life partner. She has said she wants a fella to work with his hands (get his hands dirty) rather than a white-collar type worker.

      Delete
    5. I have a feeling Jana may have turned down some suitors and now will have a harder time finding someone to rise to her level of expectation.

      Delete
    6. Either that, or they didn't pass Mr. Duggars approval. The ladies seem to have a good head on their shoulders so I'm sure Jana will court when she is ready :)

      Delete
    7. Interesting idea about Jana. There was a time when women were looked down on if they said no to a marriage proposal or two. It wasn't socially acceptable to keep doing that to men, and could easily turn you into a spinster.

      Delete
    8. I don't think Mr. Duggar is that picky when it comes to finding husbands for his daughters. Are they willing to follow the family's ideology and be on TV? OK, hired.

      Delete
  30. What ever happened to watching their relationship progress? Considering how young Joy is I was hoping their courtship would be longer. They are about the same age as Jessa and Ben where when they courted

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Actually Ben was quite a bit younger. One of the main reasons their courtship was so long is that they had to wait for him to turn 18 and be legal to marry! Ben and Jessa had the longest courtship at 15 months.

      Delete
    2. They have known each other for a long time so its not a surprise that the promo showed him asking Jim Bob about marrying Joy. I can't wait to see John, Janna and some of the other older boys enter into a courtship. Also can't wait to see what happens next for Jeremy and Jinger

      Delete
    3. Age really doesn't matter when your relationship is guarded by God. I knew my husband 6 months, was 19 when we got married and that was 40 1/2 years ago. When your relationship puts God first, husband/wife second and children third, you don't even consider divorce. You don't need to. With God's help and protection, a couple can work through everything. Exceptions are always in place, but normally those are not part of the equation.

      Delete
    4. Unknown at 12:35 am - you are correct that they are the same age as Jessa and Ben when they courted except, Austin is 22 and Joy is 19. The other way around for Jessa and Ben as the young man was older. Jessa was 22 and Ben was 19.

  37. If he already asked to propose, that means they're already engaged (as we thought), and the wedding must be soon. The family camp is booked for a "private family conference" at the end of April, so let the speculation begin. Also, that picture has more touching than the visit to the rock did, so it was probably taken after an engagement.

  39. I really would like to know how the younger kids have been dealing with all the significant changes in the family, like how are they adapting.Like who are buddies now and how have jurisdictions changed...ya see its things like that that we fans have missed out on and we have absolutely no idea how the rest of the family is truly doing or how their daily lives that we found so interesting to begin with is evolving. That would be some show ideas instead of just wedding and pregnancies.I bet JohnDavid has a busy interesting life but we know next to nothing about him...does he still live in the big house, does anyone know? We need more content and more on the rest of the family...I bet if TLC did a poll or actually listened to our show ideas we could make big change for the good.I feel that after this last batch of previously recorded summer shows will be the end of it all unless something big happends other than the norm weddings/babies.🤔

    1. You are simply confused. What you are watching and complaining about Is not 19 and counting it's a different show about the other siblings that are moving on... hence the title counting on. The show 19 and counting about the entire Duggar family has been cancelled years ago due to the josh Dugan controversy. So the other sibling and especially the parents are not supposed to be a big part of the show because that is not the show/ or the premise.

      Delete
    2. Well, you can thank the haters who had 19 kids....removed from TV. This show is about counting on, not the "Dugger family" as it once was. I wish the 19 kids show was still on as well.

  47. I feel kind of sorry for these kids who have grown up on reality television. They don't know anything else. They don't know what it's like to have private special moments. Everything is televised--romances, courtships, personal scandals, illness, weddings, honeymoons, births, deaths. They are going to think that sharing your private moments with the world is normal. It is not.

    1. First, they don't watch a lot of TV so I don't think they really notice their lives being shared so much. Second, I had tons of cameras around me during my engagement and wedding and sometimes just during life. Is there really that big of a difference between our lives being captured constantly on iPhones and their lives being captured on professional cameras?

    2. Yes, there is a huge difference. Why isn't privacy important?

    3. @anonymous 8:04 am, yes, there is a HUGE difference between life being captured on an iPhone vs a professional camera. It depends on what is private and what's not. HUGE.

    4. I've watched a few reality shows in the past and sadly, it destroyed the couple's marriage :(. I don't know if the couple were Christians or not, but I give the Duggars credit for keeping the kids grounded in their faith and not watching TV probably helped a lot.

    5. There is.. Your lives are not been aired on TV, are not being commented on by strangers.

    6. 8;04, couldn't agree more. See my children and grandchildren on Face-Book. Yeah they are putting their lives out there and they call it friends. Some of these people they have never met in person.

    7. Anon@8:04- There is a huge difference- they're promoting themselves on TV/magazines and making a great deal of money in the process. Can you say the same?

  48. It's so sad that this bad tv show is so far behind real time. We already have speculated, probably with accuracy too, that Joy and Austin have already been engaged for a while already. We think they're marrying in April at his parents' camp. No surprise here. It's disgusting that Joy has been left out of the loop and she's one of two major players in it. Her father shouldn't be SO involved in his adult childrens' love lives. Just not godly...not necessary to be pleasing to God...it's pleasing to Jim Bob.

  49. Yay can't wait. When are you going to change the boarder to include Henry in it? Love you all x

  51. Congratulations! I'm a little surprised that there engaged this soon but I've know a 16 Y/o and a 17Y/O both that were married(and wanted to be). Happy for them!

  52. YAYAYAY! They are so cute together, and they both seem very mature.

  53. Congratulations. You are an awesome couple. God bless.

  54. everyone does know that joy is like 19 and austin is 22. They aren't super young. And they have know each other for 5 years so they don't have to date as long because they already know each other for the most part.

  55. I have a question. I thought I heard them say last night (on the interview commercial) that they have "gone flying together." How does that work? Most of the planes we've seen boys fly on the show are two-seaters. Did they cram a chaperone into the plane between them? I can't figure out how Joy and Austin could have taken off in a plane together without someone else along. It isn't done!

  56. Congrats to you guy's and I am so excited for you guys and my boyfriend and I are also making our way to the alter ourselves. So I can't wait to be a wife myself. Most of my wedding ideas have come from you girls and can't wait for more inspiration from you Joy.

  59. I had JUST turned 20 when I got married. Nearly 44 wonderful years now. Depends on maturity. (And over 18).

  60. Hope Jana finds someone she is the only one of the older girls are married and having kids

  61. I am a firm believer waiting for any intimacy till after marriage. Hand holding I think is okay. Them getting married quickly is okay since they have know each other for so long. But praying their marriage is for Love first before intimacy. Get to know each other for love and likes and dislikes. I believe they are ready. I am praying for Jana I want a man to come and sweep her off her feet and her have a life of her own instead of taking care of the family. The boys go find yourself some wives. I think you are all great guys. I pray for you all. I just hope you all wait to get to know each other instead of having honeymoon babies. Congratulations!

    1. Caring- Any of them could have a life of their own. There isn't a requirement that they need to get married in order to have one. Some people are perfectly content being independent, having good friends, and a rewarding career.

  62. Love Jeremy and Jinger together. They are very funny as a couple. I think Joy is a little young to get married but then again she's very level headed. Favorite scene- her sitting next to Austin when they get into the pickup to leave is great. (Bliss with a big dash of ya, you're mine! Austin's double take is awesome.)

  63. Joy is 19 years old. That's not super young to get married. Not everyone is ready at that age, but a lot of people are. And she has known Austin for a very long time.

  64. She is way too young to be getting married! She's only 19! These poor Duggar girls don't understand there's a whole world out there to explore and enjoy before getting chained to your house and kids the rest of their lives! It's not a "sin" to be a single woman doing things for herself and having fun.

    1. IKR! I mean, if she'd been at least in her 20's I wouldn't mind; but, she's still a teenager!

  65. Kind of confused by this; has he already proposed? If so, why haven't they announced it? (Some people who don't like the Duggars think that they are engaged but are waiting to announce it until it can impact their show ratings. I don't want to believe this but all things considering....). And if he hasn't proposed yet, well so much for it being a surprise. But the Duggars tend to move quickly when it comes to courtships and engagements. So if this was filmed even just a month or two ago, I would think he would have asked by now.

    1. It hasn't been viewed so they can't publicly share. Delivering a baby isn't the same option. Jessa delivery was filmed and will air next season.
      Everything is months behind....

    Thanks.

  67. So very exciting and happy for the entire family! So many blessings to be happy for. I am very happy for Joy & Austin to be getting married. Austin seems like he is a very smart and hardworking young man and Joy is so sweet and hard working as well. They are both very mature. I do not see a problem at all that they are getting married and she is 19. They have spent the last five years really getting to know each other. They have known the family for 15 years. They know all they need to know before they get married. In fact I think Joy knows more about Austin than the other girls did about the men they married. I was also married at 19 and next month we will be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. I know they will make it work and have a wonderful marriage. I did notice that this was the first time that Jim Bob said that he would be honored to have him enter a courtship with Joy.
I am surprised to see so many people up in arms about her marrying at 19. They are very judgemental. If they have a problem than they should just not watch the show. They have not walked in her shoes. They've seen a glimpse into there life but they are also very private. I hope they have a wonderful courtship, engagement, wedding and marriage. Congratulations!!

    1. Anon@3:57- Glad you defied the odds. There's plenty of research that shows marrying at a young age significantly raises the chances of divorce.

      Delete
    2. I would be curious to see that research. I'm willing to bet that any such research is majorly skewed by immature teenagers who run off and get married without telling their families. That's not what Joy and Austin are doing at all. Marriages (at any age) in which the bride and groom are both strong Christians and have families who take time to get to know each other and ultimately approve of the union would certainly have a very high success rate.

  68. Joy is too young. She is my favorite Duggar (I guess with being close in age) and it made me happy when she hung out with her younger brothers instead of her sisters. I really thought she would be the one to rebel. She is not ready to get married. How is she going to afford a house and a family without a substantial job. I personally could not see myself getting married at 19. I think Jana is doing the right thing by waiting. There is no rush! However, in spite of my opinions, I would like to say congratulations.

    1. I agree with you. (She is also my favorite as well since we're only 5 months and 2 days apart).
IRK. Ever since the Announcement at the end of S2, I figured something was up. I mean, they may not be as in love as the Vuolos were, but something was definitely odd about it.
Agreed. I've got a feeling it's rushed so that they can film more of them.

    2. Besides other sources of income, Austin flips houses. He is on house #5.

    3. Are there that many distressed properties in Arkansas and people willing to buy at much higher prices them later? Seems the Duggar boys and now Austin are in this business, but how lucrative can it be and how long can it last?

  72. Any of the Duggar/Dillard/Seewald/Vuolo kids could outperform those of you who are complaining about their education. Not only have they traveled around the world but most of them play at least two musical instruments. Their parents have taught them REAL LIFE skills which will endure for as long as they do. I say God Bless them all.

  73. Joy and Austin are sooo young. I really hope they take their time and this promo is just a teaser. Makes me wonder how is Jana feeling???

  74. it is time for One or more boys to courting now, because there is one girl marrying age, the 4 younger girls 11yrs old or younger

    ReplyDelete
  75. She will probably be 20 by the time they marry. I was 20 when I got married. It lasted 29 years...If they are happy then I am happy....

  76. I hope Joy chooses Carlin Bates as one of her bridesmaids! Carlin says they're BFF's. It would be sweet considering Michaela chose Jana as a bridesmaid and Zach chose John-David as a groomsman when he married Whitney. Ayway, I wish them all the best!

    ReplyDelete
  77. Guess what? Some people marry at age 19! All these comments that she is too young are probably the same people who say women shod be free to make their own decisions about their own life. This is her decision to marry now at age 19!! If ALL the daughters were married at 19, then I would say perhaps there is some validity to them being "made to marry" or "married off." But her sisters all got married in their twenties, at varying ages of twenties at that, and there is still an unmarried sister who is oldest of them all. Decide what you're going to complain about: a daughter marrying when she chooses or a daughter marrying when she chooses.

  78. So excited for next season. Congratulations Joy. I am so hoping for John David or Jana next. Too bad there couldnt be a Date a Duggar Twin episode and Christians interested could write in and top pick of Jim Bob could get to have one dinner date. I just love watching Jim Bob make the boys sweat when they ask to court. I used to laugh more when mr duggar was on. He added a comical relief. The show is kinda more serious, nut still real good and never miss it.
