Nearly 1,000 Guests Attend Duggar/Vuolo Wedding

Have you heard the happy news? Jinger Duggar is now Jinger Vuolo! She and Jeremy Vuolo tied the knot earlier this afternoon at John Brown University's Cathedral of the Ozarks in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, reports PEOPLE.com.

Jeremy's brother, Charles, stood up as best man, while Jessa Seewald was Jinger's matroon of honor. As expected, the ceremony was officiated by Jeremy's dad, Pastor Charles "Chuck" Vuolo.

While the couple had planned to keep the guest list short, the event was attended by nearly 1,000 individuals.

Where are the headed on their honeymoon? Like Jessa and Ben, who went to Europe, Jinger and Jeremy are headed far, far away.

“We plan to get away for a couple of days alone together and then will be leaving the country for an amazing trip to New Zealand and Australia,” the Vuolos told PEOPLE. “We are so excited and so thankful for this amazing trip to start our marriage together. Most of all, we are just excited that we will be together … married!”

Tune in to TLC on Tuesday, November 15th, at 8pm ET/7pm CT to watch the wedding episode.

  1. Such a lie about it being a small wedding. Disappointed that they would say something so false. When will the backpedaling begin? "The list got longer and longer and then we realized we couldn't leave anyone out, so we invited 900." Does telling the truth on TV mean anything to them?

    1. Does it really matter? My gosh it is up to them to increase or decrease their guest list. None of our concern.

    3. Why does it matter to you if the wedding was small like they originally wanted! It doesn't matter actually it's their day they can do whatever they want. Not your place to judge. If you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all.

    4. Sometimes things change. Maybe 1000 people IS small to them.

    5. Small for one family compared to another are to different things. When you think about her family alone it is up near 40 plus. When you figure necessary, nephews and in laws give me a break. The last 2 weddings were over 2000 so that would be small for them.

    10. They didn't lie. What they said was they were going to TRY and keep the guess list short. Not lying. Maybe your mad because you were not invited.

Why would anyone have anything negative to say on such a beautiful occasion...but true to form the haters will comment in droves and show their true colors...too bad some people couldn't be as happy like this young couple is...your words can't hurt or touch them on this day. Some folks are just plain envious of others happiness...too bad, so sad.I am so glad we have the special so soon, im sure the ratings will b huge with the fans and haters tuning in...so thanks. The honeymoon is my dream vacation, I hope they film that one too...bet they do๐Ÿ˜†

    13. Maybe 1000 people is small for a Duggar Wedding

    14. I am sure they tried to keep it small. With being such a big family they have friends that have big families and that adds up quickly! :)

      Delete
    15. Wow, what a thing to be upset about! I agree with Beth.

    16. For a celebrity, 1000 is small. We had close to that many because we lived in the same community for years and we are nobody. Just sayin'. What's small for one is large for another. Maybe we can all just be happy for them.

      Delete
    17. Really why be upset at the number of people the invite, 1,000 is probably a small amount when you have such a large family...

      Delete
    18. They did indeed say they were going to keep it small and "be mindful" of who they invited. Inviting that many does not sound mindful.

      Delete
    19. I'm so happy Jeremy and jinger Vuolo. AND I agree, for a Duggar wedding, 1000 people is small.

      Delete
    20. No way were they keeping it small, even if they said they were. Some twisting of facts there.

      Delete
    21. Seriously when we were planning our wedding we expect it to be small but then we kept being told we have to invite this person and that person and it just got bigger and bigger. It happens. Doesn't mean they lied, just means plans change sometimes. Hope hey have and amazing marriage full of many blessings.

    26. I'm wondering if Jinger asked for small but invites were sent out anyway by her family. What's the saying? Your marriage but your parents wedding???

      Delete
    27. The issue being taken is with transparency. They said it would be a small wedding with friends and family. This was the opposite. That's why there's any criticism. Not an issue of whether big or small but telling one thing and doing another.

      Delete
    28. I'll bet Josh was uncomfortable around that many people at once. For his sake alone, this should have indeed been kept smaller.

      Delete
    29. Unless you are paying, who cares how many people attended.

      Delete
    30. Why does the guest list matter? And why should they think of how Josh would feel around the guests at their wedding? Congrats to Jinger and Jeremy!

      Delete

  5. Congrats to the two of them! Can't wait to see pictures. I'm guessing it was a lot more casual than the other two weddings, based on her parents attire. Maybe they scaled it back so they could invite more people? I'm also glad that TLC is showing the wedding so soon after the actual event!

  13. No need to feel sorry for the Duggars or Vuolos. They obviously have money. A wedding with 1000 guests is incredibly expensive and makes a circus of a serious event. And a honeymoon trip to New Zealand and Australia is not cheap, especially when it was not booked months and months in advance.

If they can afford a trip to Australia and New Zealand, the groom can afford to support Jinger's shopping habits.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Maybe the trip was a gift from her parents.

      Delete
    2. Anonymous at 437pm - yes 1,000 person wedding costs alot, but the Duggars don't have traditional receptions with food, dancing, drinks, music nor a sit down or buffet meal. Maybe some cake or rootbeer float like Jill's r just some ice cream like Jessas in 40 degree weather - both in the church parking lot. About Jinger and Jeremy's expensive honeymoon to Australia and New Zealand? No doubt TLC is paying for that with the rights to film it! Watch, it will be on their show. So, no, nobody feels sorry for them as you say! But I'm sure nobody needed deep pockets except TLC! NOT Daddy Duggar! But, congrats to Jinger and Jeremy!

      Delete
    3. TLC will be tagging along to film the honeymoon, so they'll help foot the bill for that. TLC also filmed the wedding, so there's that paycheck, too. Reception food was probably cake and cookies and such, since it wasn't dinnertime. Getaway car was probably from the Duggar lot. I have a Jag from that same pre-2009 era. They are not expensive now, second-hand. With that many guests, Jinger shouldn't need to go shopping anytime soon!

      Delete
    4. A receptionless wedding is not expensive, no many how many people are invited.

      Delete
    5. They had a reception. It was indoors. It did not appear to be a sit-down meal, though. So that cuts the expense tremendously.

      Delete
  14. Wow negative ninnies above! Who cares! Just be happy for two people in love that got married! Congratulations! Enjoy your honeymoon!

    ReplyDelete
  15. It does say matron of honor.

    ReplyDelete
  16. When the "Maid" of honor is already married. The term Matron is used instead. Maid insinuates a singular marital status. You are no longer a maid once you're married. You're a matron.

    ReplyDelete

  19. Why does their decision to have a larger wedding turn them into liars? They've side before that they are friends with families who also have several children. A change in plan happens, doesn't mean they lied. They're both super friendly people, I'd imagine they know tons of people and wanted to share their happiness. I, for one, am thrilled for them and wish them nothing but joy as they are finally together for good!

  72. Watch the wedding episode on Nov. 15th or "get a glimpse" of the wedding, which is what I thought I read on TLC's own page. Meaning you only get a glimpse or a tease, and you have to wait for season 3?

    ReplyDelete
  73. Obviously if they were inviting "friends" that they only know from running a fan blog, the wedding wasn't going to be small LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  74. For those who say 1000 attendees isn't a small wedding, 1000 IS a small wedding when one comes from a super sized family. If they invited just 10 families and thier children, assuming each couple has an average of 8 children. That is already 100 people!( The duggar family alone is 31 people. ) if the duggars just invited 100 friends and each of thier friends had an average of 8 or more kids then there ya go. 1,000 people.
It's thier wedding, thier choice. As long as it doesn't effect you and yours and no harm is done to human life then please don't worry if 1,000 is big or small. It's all about perspective....

    2. What is wrong with addressing the invitation to the adults only? I had adults only at my wedding, and I was not invited to weddings as a child. They could have kept this to 200 people if they kept to their original plan for a small wedding.

  83. I love this Family and all the couple are great. Why is Daddy so pushing to have daughters married off and not the sons.

    1. Stay tuned...girls are starting to show up in pictures around the boys, more than one occasion... But remember, those boys need to have a reliable income to be married and head of household.

  86. Congrats to both Jeremy and Jinger! What I want to know is if Grandma Vuolo was served Italian soup and pasta? Did they had out the candied almonds? Was there Italian cookies?

    1. By the speed with which the couple left the reception and the pictures were online, it appears to have been a cake and cookies and mints type, not a luncheon or dinner.

    2. I doubt it. The Duggars spend all this money on a huge "societal" wedding, but are loath to spend money for feed their 1000+ guests food. I think out of decency there should be something for people to eat. A lot have traveled a long way and have young children. The least they could do is have food. Jessa's silly ice cream bar was downright sad. All these people and all she could do was give them ice cream? If you go far enough to spend money on all that wedding stuff, at least provide some food. We're not talking about a poor family here...

    3. No meal, just some appetizers and cupcakes.

    4. This wedding would have been the perfect opportunity to keep the guest list small and the reception big, in terms of the food served there.

  88. Wasnt her brother courting before jinger even met him? Why did her wrdding get pushed so fast? She doesn't even know this guy. He lived far away or traveled alot she was always suprised to see him. So why isnt her brother even engaged yet?
