Jana Duggar's Redecorating Project

In addition to Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo's engagement, this week's episode also features Anna Duggar and the other Duggar siblings (two videos below).

Jana Duggar heads up a redecorating project at the family's guesthouse, a home next door that Jim Bob purchased a year ago. Jill, Derick, and Israel Dillard will live there during what they expect to be a four-month visit (October-December).

What do you think of the girls' last-minute decision to use old wood slabs to create a decoration for the wall above the couch?

  1. I think Anna is expecting again.

  2. A point blank question: Is Anna Duggar expecting her 5th child now?

  3. Jana is such a wonderful person. She is so considerate of others. I hope she takes time for herself.

    1. I believe she does in her own way. She truly seems like the kind of woman who's heart loves to serve others. She provides for her family via her garden, she comes up with games and gifts, play houses and puts others first. Proverbs 31 talks about Jana and she delights in giving. Acts 20:35 – "In everything I showed you that by working hard in this manner you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'" At least this is the impression I get of the young lady.

      God bless

  4. That looks like the exact same house that was the Dillard's first home. It appears that Jim Bob didn't sell the house after all. It's a beautiful house.

    1. The first house (the white house) was sold as commercial property. This is the house that is on the road next to the Duggar property. It's a different house than where Jill lived when first married.

    2. The home the Dillard's lived in as newlyweds was half stone and half brick, this home appears to be made completely out of brick. I am rather certain that this is an entirely different home. Also the location is incorrect, the Dillard's looked to have lived in a subdivision. The home being renovated is a few thousand yards from the Duggars property and sits between two pastures.

      God bless

    3. No it's not. It's a completely different house.

    4. Their first house was a blue Queen Anne with southern columns on the front. The kitchen had French cabinets with green marble including an oversized island.

    5. Hmmmmmmmmm, had the J/D wreath on the front door that Jill had. Looked the same to me.

  5. I love how the siblings take care of each other. As for the boards on the wall, I love the concept, but I would have put the boards all together to make one big rectangle, and then you can put pictures, initials, stenciled or painted message/ scripture , or whatever.

  7. Jana is a great organiser and delegator of task's.
I still think she would make a fantastic wedding planner.
Any news about the commercial space she purchased?

  8. Jana certainly has an eye for interior design. Who knows maybe the man she marries it into flipping houses and they can become the next Chip and Johanna Gaines.

  9. It must be so exciting for Jana to have her best friend/sister Jill coming home for awhile. Jana is such a dear person. I really hope that God graces her with all the blessings she wants and deserves.

  10. Loved the episode with Anna; she is always so happy and bubbly. She is such a godly woman. I am old enough to be her mother but I really look up to her and respect her for her forgiving and loving attitude. Josh is a blessed man indeed and her children are blessed to have such a beautiful mother inside and out. God bless you Anna Duggar.

  11. Please get Anna off the show!

    1. Anna never done anything but be the person she has always been. I agree that Josh shouldn't be aired on the show but there's no merit to making others suffer for his sin including his wife and family. They did not make those choices he did. I've never understood people taking what he did out on his wife and parents and siblings... They are not responsible for his actions only he is.

    2. Anna is an absolute delightful inspirational woman and I and many others are blessed by seeing her on the show. Her faith is such a light to many people. God bless Anna and her family.

    3. Why? What's wrong with Anna??

      Delete
    4. I don't think that's fair, and I'm admittedly not a fan. What Josh did isn't Anna's fault, and although it could be argued that she's enabling his behaviour by staying with him, the reality is that I'm not sure she realizes she even has a choice in that regard. I don't want to take away from her any personal agency, but you have to remember that she was raised to believe that you don't get a divorce, for any reason, and to stick by your husband. I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't know her legal options at all, or if it even occurred to her. Not to mention the social pressure she must've been feeling from both sides (from both the Duggars, and her own family). I just feel immensely sad for her, really. I had hoped she'd take her brother up on his offer to stay with him.

      Delete
    5. Why? Do you have a valid reason.....or are you just being mean?

      Delete
    6. I feel sad for her too. She also appears pregnant again.
I hope Josh Honor's her commitment to the marriage and provides and appreciates.

    7. I think it's commendable that Anna is not in hiding like she could have been.Anna is out there and has been from the beginning, that takes courage. Some people would have avoided being seen and went into hiding, she however is a very strong woman who doesn't deserve any backlash for wanting to keep her family together. Her choice should be respected instead of ridiculed by the judgemental folks who think they are perfect.Oh, and have a very blessed day y'all 😉

    8. No offense, but I must disagree with you about Anna being on the show. I commend her for being able to forgive Josh and work on her family, however... my husband and I do everything together. We are a family with our 4 children and if one of us cannot be included then none of us with be by choice. That is just common love and respect.

  12. Jane is always doing stuff for others, but does anyone every do anything for Jana? It'd be nice if they had an episode about the family getting together to do something special for Jana. She deserves it with all she does.

  13. Anna doesn't have a place in this revamped tv show. It's supposed to be about the older DUGGER children. Since Josh isn't included in this show, she shouldn't be either. I'm sorry if I offend any "Anna fans" out there, but it's logical that she should sit this one out and tend to her own family's needs at home, wherever they're living now.

    1. Very well spoken. I also feel like she is betraying Josh and her kids by being on a show her husband and children's father is not allowed. If she has truly forgiven him then she should stand by her man and not show herself nor her children until TLC puts Josh back on the air.

  16. It isn't the Stoneybrook house. That was sold as commercial property. This house with a pool is on the Diggar's main property and was used for filming last season. At one point it was rented to Vanessa, the midwife under which Jill apprenticed.

    1. Oh yes, Vanessa the midwife. Interesting back story there.

    2. It's not on their property. It's more like "next door-ish." It was up for sale not too long ago. I forget the exact year the Duggars bought it. It's all public record, so no secrets.

    1. Jana probably looks at Pinterest a lot, or somewhere similar. All the girls probably do. They've said before that they've gotten ideas online. I don't think they were around that type of party decor and house decor creativity growing up. I think they're trend-spotting online and going from there.

  18. Why would anyone think Anna has to leave the show? She is an incredible woman. She is a true inspiration to those of us who have been wronged by our husbands. Staying together is a challenge and is a lot of hard work. Some of us believe in marriage enough to know it isn't always easy.

    1. I love Anna, her loving spirit is a role model to me. I think she should leave Josh. But that just my opinion, I think she's a great person, and I pray for her. God is good and He will support her in ways I can't.

  19. I was really interested in seeing what Jana did in the home for Jill and her family. I loved the three boards above the couch. I love how this family works together on all the different projects and allows each family member to take the lead in a project and show their individual strengths. I was also really happy to see Anna. I am very glad she is still part of the show. I really admire her grace and dignity over the last year or so in the face of so much public scrutinity, especially the negative and abusive comments made by people who have no right to. If you are pregnant Anna, I would like to congratulate you as every baby is an innocent child. You are glowing in the tlc clip and look tremendously happy. Though I would not have stayed with Josh, I respect your choices and wish you nothing but blessings in your life and an easy pregnancy. I wish those blessings for the children as well. Mckenzie is getting so big and so pretty and looks so much like you. Celebrate your family Anna, you are doing a wonderful job.

  20. It's nice that they have spare homes available for everyone, but with Jill and Derick, Jessa and Ben, and Josh and Anna being grown, married adults allegedly with jobs, it seems unhealthy for their daddy to be supporting them. They ought to be supporting themselves.

  23. These are all great kids/young adults, but what always strikes me about the boys is how mild-mannered they are. I'd like to see more of a spark of personality from them. Jana was like their mother, telling them all what to do, while they sat silently.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I sense that as well in the boys. It does not seem like the boy Duggars want to be on the show at all. Guess they need the money. You can tell they are not in it for the enjoyment value.

  24. So, this segment IS about watching paint dry....how boring can you get? No one really cares about watching "Jana" redecorate this mansion, called a "guest house".

  25. Jeremy is going to be different...he has that spark. His voice was loud at the soccer game he and Jinger went to, and when his friend Luis stopped a goal during the game, and Jeremy yelled "That a boy, that a boy", I think it scared Jinger. She's never heard such a loud male voice. Jeremy has spark! Maybe he'll bring that energy to the other men in the family!

  26. I think Jana did a great job. I agreed with her art choices over Jessa's.
