Video: Duggar Girls' Weekend Getaway

The Duggar girls are ready to hit the road! On Tuesday's new episode of Jill & Jessa: Counting On, Jana Duggar, Anna Duggar, Jessa Seewald, Jinger Duggar, and Joy Duggar head out on a weekend getaway--with Spurgeon and Meredith, of course (video below). They enjoy a few days of relaxation and plenty of girl talk, including updates from Anna about husband Josh Duggar.

  1. Okay just saw Ben at a rock concert. Not a good example of christian behavior.

    1. why is that not a good example of Christian behavior? There is Christian rock music that is very glorifying to the Lord. Being legalistic isn't a good example of good Christian behavior. Christians come from many backgrounds and praise our Savior in any number of ways.

      Delete
    2. I agree. It really isn't a good example. We need to glorify the Lord not by rapping! It doesn't even look christian. We need to stand out from everyone else!

      Delete
    3. Rap music is from a culture of violence and anger. How does it mesh with the peace of God?

      Delete
    4. Do some reading up on the kinds of people Jesus hung out with.

      Delete
    5. Unfortunately many who love and follow the Duggars are extremely legalistic....it's extremely frustrating. The same people who defend Josh will bad mouth Ben for going to a Christian concert.

      Delete
    6. Having standards of conduct is not necessarily legalistic. The Duggars have many rules and standards that they follow. Are you calling that legalistic or just one's standards in music?

      Delete
    7. Why do you say that? There are tons of good Christian rock concerts. I go to at least one every year. Often more.

      Delete
    8. I would never defend Josh's actions but Ben is setting a poor example by attending a rap concert. Real rap music is angry and violent and full of obscenities . Just replacing that kind of music with good words is not enough. It is wrong and has no place in the Christian's life.

    9. Standards of conduct are just fine, and necessary. Legalism comes into play when someone tries to say that their personal preferences are Biblical/sinful even when they're not. Such as the the idea that women shouldn't where pants, or that one shouldn't hold hands before engagement, or kiss before marriage, or go to a Christian rock concert...If someone chooses these things for themselves that's fine, but shaming others for doing them is wrong and legalistic.

      Delete
    10. I called it legalistic because I don't know of anywhere in the Bible where it says listening to live music or listening to 'rock' music is a sin. I completely agree there should be standards of conduct for Christians and I suppose non Christians alike, but i don't believe going to a rock concert is a bad example of Christian behavior. In other words... who makes the 'rules' about what is good Christian conduct? As far as I know he was not doing illicit drugs, I assume he did not steal the ticket to get in... Frankly, this family could use to get out a bit and see how other Christians honor the Lord and live a Christian walk. Wearing skirts and having a large home school family does not get you in to Heaven. A personal relationship with our savior Jesus is the only way - nothing man can or... cannot do can take the place of grace.I believe there are many faithful believers who listen to rock music. I am a born again Christian and I even listen to secular music... so there's that.

    11. If Ben wants to reach to people who listen to rap/rock music and are down the dark path, he has to understand them. He has to know how to ''talk'' like them. If he wants to bring to God people who listen to rap music, he has to get their attention with rap music.

  2. Have to wonder what these girls would be doing if the camera wasn't on them. Working? Studying? Raising their children?

  3. This girls' outing actuallly happened quite a while ago. The big question is what happened a few nights ago with Ben at the rap concert.

  4. Jana is SO gorgeous!!!

  5. Not trying to be mean but the show doesn't need to mention Josh.

    1. It is part of the duggar family!josh is the oldest brother of his eighteen siblings.it doesn't make sense what are you saying!they have to mention their brother no matter what.the show is about their life so josh have to be included even if you like it or not. God bless all duggar family duggar including josh.

      Delete
    2. If they keep mentioning him the show will be canceled plain and simple.

  6. Nice getaway for them, but, personally, we don't care to hear any updates on Josh Duggar......

    1. How can you expect Anna and her kids in the tlc show and not expect them to talk about Josh? It's their husband and father.. you can't have it both ways. Would you prefer is Anna pretended he didn't exist?

      Delete
    2. Speak for yourself. I'd like to hear updates on Josh. I abhor what he did, but I also abhor what King David did to Bathsheba's husband Uriah, and look what a great person David turned out to be. If Josh is following the Lord and turning his life around, perhaps his story could help someone.

  7. Jessa's supposed to be busy being a new mom, Jinger is supposedly doing photography and prison ministry, Joy is a car detailer and a party planner, and Anna is in marriage therapy, yet they can drop everything and get filmed painting their nails!!! TLC, you have failed miserably with this new series!

    1. And this was all filmed last year..months before tlc even was considering a show. Kinda weird..

    2. Not trying to be mean but, if you don't like maybe you should stop watching it.

      Delete
  8. Have to wonder how often they "get away" like that if TLC isn't filming.

    1. It was payed by tlc but Jim Bob and Michelle are millionaires and could easily afford it.

  9. Love the Duggars and the show!!!! God bless them all!!!!

  10. I like Jinger because she is the best Duggar Girl.I like Jinger

  11. It would be nice to see "Grandma" have a name in the website header like everyone else in the family. Jim Bob and Michelle aren't named "Dad" and "Mom." The kids aren't named "son" or "sister" or "daughter," etc. Grandma is a relationship, not a name. It seems a bit dehumanizing to me.

    1. Most grandmothers LOVE being called "Grandma" because they're just so proud of being one! I highly doubt Grandma Duggar is offended or feels "dehumanized" by it!

    2. At least it wasn't a number.

  12. I like Counting On, but I want to see all the Duggar family.

  13. So what about Ben at the rap concert. Was Jessa with him?

  14. Hola Dios les bendiga. Soy de Puerto Rico. Siempre estan en nuestras oraciones.

  15. Ben at a rap concert with Krista? The Krista who occasionally shows up in Duggar family photos? Where was Jessa?

    1. Saw that & wondered what was up.

    2. I think Jessa wasn't there because she doesn't really like that kind of music

  16. I love how they included jill on their trip even though she couldn't be there in person!!

  17. Though a girls getaway sounds nice, it is hard to beleive. For one, Jessa leaving Ben for a weekend. The single girls at some unsupervised activity. Michelle left alone with her kids and Anna's three. Wonder how McKenzie, Michael and Marcus feel. Anna is always taking Merideth and leaving them. It's enough that they have been uprooted and do not know what was told to them about their father being away.

    1. It's no harder to believe than anything else they've been trying to get us to believe lately. This entire series has been bizarre & confusing.

      Delete
    2. Why is it wrong that Michelle is alone with her kids? She is the mother. I'm pretty sure she can handle it. It's not the girls' job to take care of the younger kids.

      Delete
    3. I think the commenter at 11:59 was referring to Michelle being left with Anna's kids.

      Delete
    4. Michelle isn't even left with her own kids. The younger girls ( 17 and under) are now doing all the work.

  18. Why do you people have to be so critical? So what, the girls get a break, who cares who is where and what they are doing and why...support them or watch a different show! Just keep your negativity to yourself! So sick of hearing everyone's opinions and criticisms! I'm not a fan of hearing about updates on Josh, because of his actions, but I respect how TLC chooses to do things and Anna, so u either love or hate, watch or don't watch, but keep your hate to yourself and go watch the Kardashians for drama!

    1. First time I've ever seen "respect" and "TLC" used in the same sentence!

      Delete
    2. No need to be disrespectful to the Kardashians. They aren't even on TLC--not to mention how low the opinion of the Duggar is if the bar set is the Kardashians.

    3. This is a great show. People make terrible mistakes. God said to forgive. To not judge. Josh is a sinner and a forgiven sinner. So should you all have more compassion. His wife and himself are working and praying and God is with them through all this.
For as the girls being away for the weekend. It's nothing that none of us have done, with friends and siblings. They are grown women. Ben also was with a Christian rapper. I for one is interested to see how Josh is doing, and pray that him and Anna and kids all come out of this so much stronger. Pray for him instead of judging him. If not. Shame on you, to find negative in all that they do. They are all good people. We all are sinners and need to ask for forgiveness every day.

    4. I agree! well said Krista andGabby :-)

    5. The whole point of a blog is to be informed of something, reading other people's opinions, and being able to voice your own opinion. What kind of world do we live in where people get angry and demanding thinking absolutely everyone should have the same opinion? Or to think if someone else had a different opinion than the majority they should stay quiet and not be allowed to say anything? It would definitely make for a very boring blog. Besides, you might learn something from someone else's thoughts.

  19. It's very hypocritical of people to stand up for Josh and say his sins ate forgiven and then go ahead and say they want tlc and duggars pretend he don't exist. He is Anna's husband and she will want to talk about him!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Unless he actually is sorry and repented to the Lord he isn't forgiven.

      Delete
  20. I also don't like to hear Josh's name mentioned, except I liked the TV commercial on TLC that appeared to show discomfort on everyone's face when Anna informed them all that Josh would be coming home soon.

  21. why did anna only take one child with her never seems to have her eldest 3 at all have to wonder what that is doing to those children first daddy disappears now mummy doesnt bother much with them just the baby

    1. It was for a weekend, not a month for goodness sake! And they were 'left' with their grandparents-oh how I just can't imagine the lasting effects it will have on them-NOT!! Get real people, they have been living there for several months now. It is their family. They were fine!!

  22. I'm so glad the Duggars are back on TLC, however this is definitely not the same Duggar style program that fans loved and want more of! on 19kids, we used to see Anna taking her kids to the library or playground, or watch her make dinner for her family. And now all she does is dump her 3 youngest on Michelle (more likely it's Joy) and go to coffee shops, clothes shopping, and nail salons. What happened??? Is she fed up with Josh and is taking on a modern (aka wordly) mother role? If so, that makes me very sad.

    1. Well, you didn't like it when she was housebound alone in DC with the
Kids so now she's exploring herself as a young woman and still
      you don't like it?

  23. Too much "let's make the general public happy" and not enough Christian-based reality on this spinoff. Flipping cars, construction, car detailing. Those are all traditionally male roles and I thought the Duggars were very much in favor of embracing our God-given roles. Even if these girls aren't wives and mothers yet, what about a more feminine line of work? Music. Art. Teaching. It seems the Duggars and TLC are hoping to please public/world more than their Christian viewers. Sad and disappointing.

  24. Who takes their married sister and sister in law, WITH BABIES, on a getaway? Jessa and Anna are NOT joined at the hip to their children. That is what a breast pump is for..If those two married people have to tag along and "keep an eye" on the singles, leave the babies and diapers home.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Obviously they wanted to take their babies with them. Why does it matter to you?

      Delete
    2. I think it's great that the five of them are so close and don't discriminate against the ones who are married. And I also think it's great that the two moms see the importance of breastfeeding their babies and not letting their milk supply suffer in favor of going on a four-day trip without babies. I guess some have had to do it, but using a breast pump continuously for four days in a row rather than just taking my baby along would not be my choice.

      Delete
    3. Really? Pumping enough milk for a baby for four days and then pumping for the four days away so milk supply doesn't suffer isn't very practical! I would take my baby too

      Delete
  25. Finally! A break from buying cars and cleaning out old fries and using power tools! So looking forward to watching nails get painted and girls talking about possible courtships! Love Tuesday nights.

  26. All those comments about Anna leaving her children with Michelle... We only see a portion of their lives and I'm sure that in it is still a very Hands-On mother. Every parent needs time out A weekend out with the girls is a perfect way to do it. Baby go with as it's very difficult to pump and keep the milk as I know as I breastfed five children. What I don't understand is all the judging of the Duggars. These are human beings that have chosen to live in a certain way and we are not allowed to judge the way other people live, why are you touching them. Joshua made lots of mistakes and will probably suffer the rest of his life because of these mistakes however any of us who claimed we haven't made mistakes are liars. We All Fall From Grace at some point or another. Leave these people alone or simple don't watch their show. Quite frankly I find it refreshing to see their innocence about life in the simple way they live. I love it love it love it and hope the show continues for many years with or without mentioning Josh name. God bless the whole Duggar family

  27. I noticed something a few weeks ago and hesitate to ask...
In one of the first episodes, kids are packing bags to travel to Central America and one of the kids told the camera they were bringing backpacks for the kids in C.A as a Christmas gift; so I suppose it was around Christmas time... But at a moment, a kid is packing and a bag is throwed at him and we heard : "sorry, that was Josh!"
Did he spend the Holidays with his family ? I tought he was in a "closed" therapy...

  28. Unfortunately I think the new series appears somewhat boring and desperate for story lines. The morals and values of the Duggar family are definitely different and more secular. If they continue to mention Josh right now, it could be lethal to the show. He's too controversial in the public eye right now. I'm starting to sway towards the Bates family anymore. Just my opinion though.
